Chicken cordon blue. Great sandwhich, big and juicy with a nice crunch. Great service from Rudy! Highly recommend

Sorry, one piece of sea meat gone already.

Rudy's is a decent place to eat. Atmosphere is good, plenty of TVs to watch. Average choice of beers on tap. I chose the Lagunitas IPA, never disappoints. The wife unit and I split two meals, the Southwestern Chicken salad and fish and chips. Fish was good, crispy and a little oily. Fries weren't real hot like the fish. Three pieces of sea meat with plenty of fries and cole slaw. The salad was good, the chicken pieces were spicy, but small. Dressing tasted good. I probably wouldn't order it again. Service was great, very attentive staff.

I am so glad we finally made it to this place. the atmosphere is a fun and easy sports bar but more open with great food and nice staff. we ordered all kinds of stuff at our table of 4. wings, corn dog minis, giant cheeseburgers, a chicken sandwich, a side salad, and a few other things. everything came out promptly and hot. they have really good ranch too, I was impressed. rudy's is kind of hidden at the corner of linder and mcmillan, in the back corner. you might not know it's there if you aren't familiar with that area. it's in a cute little square that shares space with a couple other places. I can't wait to come back on football sunday and watch some games and have those wings and corn dog minis again!

I was talking to some friends the other night and they suggested I try Rudy's. I had said I had been to Gino's next door, and they pointed to Rudy's for next time. So, last night my son and I went over to try it for dinner. We sat ourselves, like one does in a bar, and we were quickly greeted, menu'd, and asked if we wanted a drink. Perfect! We ordered drinks, and since the Olympics were on, we asked to have the big monitor over the bar changed from Euro soccer to Woman's beach Volleyball (US vs China). Lots of TVs! The bartender didn't know what channel it was on, but it was on some tiny TV in the "family" section with low tables, and she went of there and then came back and changed it for us. Cool! Plus it was a great match btw, but I digress. So, let's talk the wine list. Meh, nothing on there to write home about, so did the house red to be cheap. Beer and mixed drinks are the order of the day here, which is fine. The bar seemed quite efficient even with less staff working. The place was clean. All the tables, as we looked around, were kept very clean which was nice. Nobody likes to have to pick their table because it was the only clean one around. Not the case here. All the open tables were very clean. Onto the menu... It's pretty extensive. I'm not a huge fan of extensive menu's, I don't think too many places do 500 dishes wonderfully, but I'm used to going to places that have too many things rather than focus only on what they do best. So, a wide array of choices. It is Pub fair. So, don't be looking for some fancy dishes. This place is like Homestead without all the noise, or Busters in Eagle. Mostly simple food as seen on many American menus. They did have something my friend mentioned, the 'Wedge Salad with Chicken'. I thought, that's kinda bizarre, but I do like a good wedge, and the chicken does add protein so you're not hungry 10 minutes later. My son ordered a Pub burger. Pretty standard, but that's his fault because they had some good sounding burgers, but he likes them plain. He enjoyed his, I enjoyed mine, the place was clean, the people were nice, not too noisy, good TV viewing, outdoor dining when weather permits. This is a good place to come. Shorts and flip flops dinner. I'd say try it out for unpretentious evening paired with the standard American bar dishes. Think Chili's if you will. Anyway, I'll come back...

State Fair Burger. Delicious.

First time at Rudy's. I had the State Fair Burger! Came out looking like it was right out of a food magazine. Beautiful. It was absolutely delicious. Great coleslaw and plenty of it. We will be back.

Rudy's is a local hangout. We went during Happy Hour, friendly staff and locals. Emma our server was funny and pleasant.

Very comfortable gastropub in original downtown Meridian. Large dining area with various types of…read moreseating makes this a very accommodating location. With its varied menu and delicious happy hour selection this place could be a favorite for a wide variety of the local population. Classy, welcoming with engaging staff. While the selections of taps are diverse and smart for diners, it is the kitchen that is the real star here. We tried the Happy Hour fare (3-5 pm). See the pics for details. We also tried the Kobe sliders, but they fell short of the Chicken Sliders with their tender, juicy cuts of breast. The lineup of drinks are on full display at the bar and with scannable menus. This is a solid place for bringing friends or family for a gathering - yes, like the name suggests "Common". If anyone in your group cannot find a drink and meal to their liking, then you need to replace that person from your social circle or family. 2 hour free parking directly behind the building makes this location much better than the downtown businesses in the liberal ghetto of Boise where they will soon tax the air you breathe. Here, the pricing will not require you to take out a second mortgage as the Boise elites would have you do for eating in their downtown. It is no surprise that more quality dining places are opening in cities like Eagle, Caldwell, Nampa and Meridian where Idahoans can enjoy life.

The rib appetizer was also cooked to dry bones. The steak fritters were battered and deep fried? Why in the world would you do that to a perfectly good piece of meat? My guess is because it wasn't a good piece of meat. That also was overcooked and just weird. Definitely overpriced as the food was not good. Maybe they have something they are known for and we missed something? Either way, too many options out there to ever try again. It was a miss for us. The set up and ambiance was nice and they were very busy so people must like it. We sat at the bar and service was fine.

The food is slightly lacking vs. other Irish pubs I've frequented, but it's still good. There's the way I grew up expecting these dishes to be prepared, and there's the simplified version they serve. They make some odd choices sometimes, like taking on St. Patrick's Day by just saying, "We'll just let patrons fight it out for seating," and serving corned beef and cabbage cafeteria-style. If you are out for a night of drinks and some pub food, this place is fun and generally doesn't disappoint. Enjoy a parting glass with friends and Éirinn go Brách.

A big shout-out to the bartender who served us--the one who was in the military. He was absolutely amazing: friendly, respectful, and really attentive. You can tell he brings that same discipline and professionalism into his work, and it shows in how well he takes care of customers. The owner is also awesome and clearly cares about the place and the people who come in. That kind of leadership makes a difference, and it shows in the overall vibe. Great people, great service, and a great experience every time.

Came time to order food and we got one Cobb salad, brisket quesadilla, smoked huckleberry burger, and a plain burger with bacon. Cobb salad was big and tasty so I was told. Brisket quesadilla was good and tasty, no complaints what I was told. Huckle berry burger was different, it had a sweeter fresh taste to it. I'm always trying something new but if I could order again I would have got the hells canyon burger a more dirtier of a burger. Burger was a little dry but I use every sauce I can so didn't bother me too much. Regular burger came out with no bacon so he waited until bacon came out. Took a bite and there was curb sauce in it that he had not wanted in it. Asked for a new burger but by the time he got it everyone was done and thrill was gone. Got his bill and was charged for every item including the kitchens mistake. I want to say the younger server gal didn't want to take any heat for it since it wasn't her fault but didn't want to make her team look bad or the manager mad so she charged for everything without a discount. That was a rough one to be okay with. Twin Peaks on Spectrum St. was late with one of our meals by 8 minutes and took the meal off our check. I think the server girl here could be given more authority or at least have direction on what to do in situations like this but it is what it is now.
