    Finger Steak Basket
    Drew M.

I believe they have the best finger steaks in town, no question. It's not something I indulge in very often but when I do, these are what I'm after. The place itself is what you'd expect, laid back, no frills, and welcoming. It seems to be all about the food, which is refreshing! Prices are right, service is awesome, and you can tell people have been coming there for years, and why wouldnt they?

Interior, from the restaurant side looking at the bar

My first time trying Finger Steaks. As expected, they had the coating of chicken strips, battered, deep fried and seasoned. But, obviously steak inside not chicken. They were a little chewy, but I enjoyed it to the last bite. Ketchup was good alongside, but their fry sauce was even better with the Finger Steak and fries. Good food experience, but an overload of fried food. This bar/restaurant is in a strip mall-type space in Northwest Boise. The restaurant-area was pretty large and empty on a weekday evening around 9:45pm (kitchen closed at 10pm) and there were people chatting and playing pool on the bar side.

    Cod samminch

Looks like an old staple in Meridian on Chinden. Definitely a hangout for locals. Fully stocked bar with about 10 beer taps. I had the cod samminch with side salad. All toppings, lettuce, maters, red onion and pickle come on the side, along with a small cup of tartar sauce. I like the idea of doing my own toppings. The homemade honey mustard dressing for the salad was great. The squeeze had finger steaks with fries, a dish that has to be tried. Carrie, our server, did a great job.

Great prices for what you get.

It's been years since I was at Lindy's, back when I worked at Hewlett Packard we would frequently visit. A group of us also played darts of there. Anyway, walking in it was a flash back, the place hasn't changed much at all. The dart boards are gone, from what I saw, and I swear the bartender/manager was the same guy that was there way back in the day. I ordered the Prime Rib Dip w/fries, my wife ordered the Potato Skins and her friend the Chicken Strips w/fries. Mine was good, wife's potato skin was a huge portion, the Chicken Strips looked quite good also. Service was great as were the prices, especially for the size of the portions. The beer was ice cold, good for Coors Light, but for a good micro brew I prefer it not to be that ice cold, Just my preference. I can't speak for the restaraunt side, since I've never been in there. Overall I was satisfied with what I expected, decent bar food (which can be hit or miss), bar atmosphere. Defiantly was an older crowd, like me (75). I would go back.

    Plastic in my food

xtremely disappointed with my recent visit. I found a piece of plastic in my food -- completely unacceptable and a serious health hazard. I brought it to the staff's attention, and the response was underwhelming at best. For a place that prides itself on quality, this experience was anything but. I won't be returning, and I hope they take food safety more seriously moving forward.

    Clam chowder

Tonight was a lazy dinner night so we ordered some goodies to go from Lindy's. Lindy's is known for their finger steaks so of course we had to order some. The dinner came with a side of clam chowder and a baked potato. We got 5 hearty pieces of steak. They were tender and perfectly seasoned. We did put them in the air fryer for a minute. The ride home caused them to sog up a bit. They came out perfectly! The baked potato was good. The clam chowder was full of potatoes and clams. Very tasty! We also did order a couple pieces of bar shrimp. They were huge pieces of shrimp! They were perfectly fried. 2 huge slices of lemon and cocktail sauce came with it. The fresh lemon juice and cocktail sauce was the perfect addition to the bar shrimp. Service was great! That gal that helped me was really nice and everything came out fresh. If you're looking for some good ass finger steaks, Lindy's is the joint to hit up!

Huge Frozen mugs of Draft beer for $4 all day every day
    Sergio A.

Lindy's Steak House is a great place for traditional blue collar meals in a bar atmosphere. Not your style? Bummer for you. Every day, all day they have $4 beers served in icy cold mugs. These are not short pours or childish, candy-flavored "local craft" beers served at places popular with the frivolous foodie crowd. This is real value, something that is missing in the many places who chase business with ads, glitz and contemporary social media "influencers." Every day, all day, they serve $3 wells that are not short pours. When I get their Bloody Mary at $3.25, it counts as a daily serving of vegetables. The bartenders and waitresses are some of the friendliest and fun folk around the Valley. It is clear from the regulars who fill the place every day, that this is a comfort zone with engaging, personable staff. Plenty of TV's on the walls, game machines, pool table and a jukebox playing a mix of country & rock keeps the bar area busy. The daily lunch specials are popular as are the daily dinner specials. Later in the evening, the restaurant dining room in the back part of the building opens for a quieter environment. Today started with a Shock Top for the Mrs. and an 805 for me served in frozen mugs. The bartender was joking with us when I asked if they had any imported beers on tap and I got the response: "805 is from California." 'Nuff said. We got the fish and chips, the Rueben sandwich and some of their 85 cent wings. The wings were gigantic, tender & juicy in the middle and nicely crispy on the outside - a 10 out of 10. The fish was lightly battered and also nicely cooked with plenty of fries. The Rueben was a well-constructed meal. Lots of tender meat, covered in gooey, melted Swiss cheese, along with yummy sauerkraut, dressed with Thousand Island, all parked between two large slices of marbled rye and served with lots of perfectly cooked fries. While some places in the Treasure Valley would have made any or all of these dishes with loads of oil & greasiness - not the case here. Someone in this kitchen has skill. All of this food for $25 made lunch a real value proposition. On previous occasions, we have tried their steak sandwich and finger steaks. Both were excellent and we agree with their claim that they have the best finger steaks in the Valley. We have tried a number of other places and have been turned off by what passes as finger steaks in some establishments. Highly recommended.

I don't smoke, & sensitive to all types of smoke...so I'd thought I'd have issues here... but their state of the art air purification system really works! Every staff member (as well as patrons) I met were all genuinely friendly, & full of ideas of drinks to try. As I'm a very light drinker, I qonly got to enjoy one delish drink this time , but I got to try another drink the 1st time I came, & I had a sip of my friend's drink ... all 3 drinks were fantastic... in quality spirits, in presentation, in atmosphere the drinks were enjoyed in... I highly recommend this as another downtown Eagle destination, even if u don't smoke, or u smoke but don't want to drink...as the cozy yet ample enviro lends itself to both intimate as well as group gatherings. I appreciate that I can bring my own food in, & that there is both indoor as well as outdoor seating. I rate it as very accessible, as multi seat types, multi entrances, spacious interior & exterior. Honestly it was nice to not feel rushed... & it was fairly quiet yet lively while I was there both times... so u can actually hear who u are talking to, unlike many restaurants (& coffee shops). Shout out to the great new GM & both bartenders who were very patient with this self proclaimed high interest low liquor knowledge gal

The thing that jumped out at me was the photo of the burger, now call me crazy but I think at this point I can look at a menu, photos of food and then the reviews to guide me. Yelp hasn't failed me yet! The first thing was walking in the door there were two hostess who smiled and greeted me. We were seated at the bar since there were just two of us. I ordered the Crave burger with bacon and my guest ordered the house salad with tortilla soup. Everything was excellent! The burger was juicy, flavorful, the bacon was perfectly crispy, Smokey and the white cheddar cheese was the perfect compliment! Now let's talk about the bun, I typically don't eat burger buns but this one was the exception to the rule. It was homemade obviously, buttery, light, and toasted to perfection. I ate both of them! Hahahaha! I felt so dirty typing that the French fries were crispy, just the right amount of salty and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. My guest agrees with everything in this review. The house salad was fresh, the vinaigrette was homemade and delicious and the tortilla soup was even great! The ambience was a place you could have a business meeting or take your significant other on a date night. There is literally something for everyone on their crave-able menu ( see what I did there?) Our server who was the bartender kept our glasses full and made sure he checked on us often. I found my new burger spot in Eagle, Idaho?!?! Five stars.

I had a Blue moon on tap, with a glorious orange wedge. The beer was perfectly poured and had excellent flavor. I wasn't in the mood for the lounge fare, but luckily you can order from the full restaurant menu from the lounge. My friend and I opted to split the Signature Barrel burger.with cheddar cheese, bacon, brown mustard, onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a patty that is grilled to your liking (medium). We asked for a plate to split the burger ourselves, but the bartender was nice enough to put in the order as a split order without an additional charge. Our burger and fries were split and served on two different plates, which was greatly appreciated. The burger had a nice flavor though a tad under seasoned and a notch more than medium-didn't blow my socks off, but it's a solid burger. The fries were the star, as they were crunchy, yet pillowy soft inside, covered in a lovely batter. I wouldn't mind going again and trying out the restaurant side, it was a nice visit to the lounge. They only had one bartender for a large crowd and she hustled really hard to keep everyone happy...I just felt bad that she didn't have much help.

And with the view by the patio, how can it not be the most perfect setting to enjoy my birthday dinner. We just stuck with water since it was on the warmer side today. We just went straight in for dinner. As much as the appetizers sounded lovely, I was ready for the main event. So for dinner tonight I ordered the charboiled salmon with seasonal veggies in place of the salad. My salmon was plated beautifully with nice char marks on it. The veggies were a variety of squash and were sautéed nicely. And you can tell visually that they were seasoned nicely with spices and herbs. I dug right into my salmon. My first couple bites were delicious. I did spread some of the sun dried tomato butter on my salmon. The butter was fantastic! It added a nice flavor element to the salmon. After I ate about a a fourth of my salmon, I noticed that it was not cooked all the way through in the middle. With my new kidney, I can't have rare or undercooked fish. My immune system can't handle a parasite if the fish were to potentially contain any. I shouldn't have assumed that it was going to be cooked all the way since our server didn't ask how well I wanted it cooked. I did have to send it back and have another one remade. While my new fish was being prepared, my server gave me a small salad plate to transfer my veggies to. I got to work on them so I wasn't staring at my family eat. The veggies were cooked perfectly. They weren't overly soft or still raw. It had a nice bite to them while still being tender. Unfortunately, they were overly seasoned and was on the saltier side. I was hungry so I polished them off. But I did have to drink a good amount of water to help with the saltiness. Thank goodness the portion was on the daintier side. As hungry as I was, it would have been bad if it was a bigger portion. All that salt would not be good on my new kidney. My second round of salmon came out. Was it as pretty as my first plate, no but it will do. I'm sure they set the flame on high, let it sit on the grill for a while and then flipped it to cook the other side. I have cooked salmon well done plenty of times and have it come out tender. When you cook for a living, having cooking times for your dishes should be down to a science in your kitchen. Unfortunately, the salmon was super dry and flavorless. As hungry as I was, I ate it. The butter did help with the dryness of the salmon. But I shouldn't have to rely on butter to make the dish edible. For my birthday, I got a free dessert. I chose the gluten free carrot cake. My cousin eats a gluten free diet so I thought this cake would be perfect for all of us. I enjoyed the cake very much! The cake was moist. The spices in the cake were fragrant and very noticeable in each bite. I loved the frosting on the cake. Since the cake wasn't overly sweet, the frosting added a nice sweetness to it. I enjoyed the cake very much! Our server did a mid job. There were times when she would be gone for long periods of time and we had to wait for her. The patio was perfect with its stunning view. Dinner was ok but dessert was fabulous. Overall it was a decent experience. I do look forward to coming back and enjoying the outdoor patio with my husband for a date night. I just know now to make sure I vocalize everything to my server so I don't end up with dry salmon again. I do want to come back and have a better experience.
