My husband and I were in the Meridian area today. It was lunch hour and we were starving. After seeing what was around to eat, we decided to head into Giggy D's. I have driven by and have heard about this joint of social media. A couple of my Niner homies come here during football season. So, it sounded chill to have lunch at this sports bar. Walking in, I was amazed at how stunning this venue is. It's a sports bar with the tvs but the decor and vibe doesn't make it look like your typical sports bar. This venue makes you want to act proper. And acting proper would be so hard during football season. It's too pretty to be acting rowdy. We sat by the cool flameless fireplace/pit. A sweet gal came and grabbed our drink order. While drinks were being prepared, we checked out the menu. It's a smaller menu but they have a little bit of everything. I got the Giggy burger, bunless with an extra patty. My husband got the finger steaks with fries. Our food came out and we were both ready to eat. My burger looked good. The cheese was nice and melty on top. I got a side of mixed veggies as my side. My husband's plate had a lot of fries. The finger steaks were fried golden. His plate looked tasty. My burger patties were supposed to be a quarter pound a piece. Honestly, they were thin and tiny. The patties weren't seasoned and were overly dry. The mixed veggies were just steamed broccoli and carrots. I'm sure the carrots are the same carrots used as a side for buffalo wings. And just like the patties, the veggies weren't seasoned as well. My husband's fries were good. You can tell they weren't house cut fries. The finger steaks were seasoned nicely. But the pieces were tiny and the steak was dry. I can see why 80% of the plate was fries. You aren't going to get full off the finger steaks. This venue is so pretty but the food doesn't match the venue. Our meal was sub par. Disappointing cause you'd think that food coming out of this kitchen would be killer. The service was great. The gal that served us today did a good job. I'm happy we got to check this joint out today. It's been on my to go list for a hot minute. Kinda bummed that the food missed the mark today. read more

My wife and I stopped by Giggy D's in Orchard Park on a weekend evening. It's right next to WinCo on Linder and Chinden, which makes it convenient if you're in the area. Walking in, you immediately notice the huge LCD screens all around the restaurant, and it was perfect for catching a Monday Night Football game while you eat. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, offering drinks several times even though we weren't in the mood. We ordered a fried chicken sandwich for my wife and the three street tacos for me. Her sandwich was tasty, and my tacos were okay, though the chicken was a bit dry. My dinner salad was standard. I did ask for pepper, but it never arrived. Is is something they could keep in mind, as they (and like many places) don't provide salt and pepper on the tables. Service was polite, though plate clearing and follow-ups felt a bit minimal. It gave the impression that this is a spot geared more toward grabbing a beer and some bar food rather than a full dinner experience. Overall, Giggy D's is a good choice for a casual bite and watching a game. Just manage your expectations as it's far from a gourmet spot, but it delivers on friendly atmosphere and classic bar food. If you're looking for something similar, Rudy's or Brixx might be comparable or slightly better options. read more

I hate that it took us almost a year to come in here! What a great place! Super chill sports bar that isn't too loud (at least it wasn't while we were there) and a very clean/cozy inside! Our server AJ was an absolute doll. He was quick, helpful, funny and all around fantastic! The food was super good. We ordered Brussels to start, my husband had the club which was huge and delicious. Nice, new sports bar in a strip mall. Lots of tv's on three walls and open space within view of your favorite game. Server was friendly. Good cocktails and a large selection of beers on tap. Wings were really good. Piping hot and fried well. Fish batter and frying was also really good. Could have used more dipping sauce. Finger steaks were breaded differently than what you find normally. As soon as we walked in a gentleman was ready to seat us, but we chose to sit at the bar. He let us know that the kitchen closed at 9pm, which was a little disappointing. We weren't extremely hungry, but would have liked to munch on something small. AJ was our bartender and he was super friendly and personable. He chit chatted with us a little, which was nice. They had one of my favorites from Mother Earth Brewery, Cali Creamin', which excited me! They have a large selection of craft beer on tap. I will say there was a woman that was sitting with some guys at a table by the bar. She acted like she worked there, but wasn't on the clock because she changed the music to what she wanted and changed the volume to where my friend and I couldn't hold a conversation because it was so loud. read more

It was a busy New Year's Day and they were short staffed. They told us from the get go, which we appreciated. Luckily we were not in a hurry and happy to watch Bowl games. This was our first visit and we will be back. Food was good and came hot to the table. Cook on my burger was just as I wanted. Sweet potato fries were crispy. I'd order both again. Also at the table we had finger steaks and a Bleu burger. Everyone agreed they would get them again. Kids meal of chicken tenders was two large portions of chicken breast. No one left hungry. Mmm. Decided to try this as a family of 4 plus two grandparents. This is not the place to do that. It was so loud, we found we couldn't really have a good conversation. Mind you this is on a Wednesday at 4:45. The food really is that pub style food, so sure if you're looking at getting a drink and some greasy food to go with it, this is the place! The server was really nice but couldn't hear us when taking our order apparently because he got our appetizer wrong. We ordered two French dips (bad choice), they lacked flavor, just not good. The fries however were good and so were the Tator tots I thought. The battered fish was meh, not much flavor there besides being battered and then the onion rings just tasted like fish. Which I'm sure the onions rings were probably fried in the same fryer. My daughter's burger was not cooked well and still had some pink in the middle. However my other daughter's chicken tenders were sadly probably the best thing on the table and that's saying something. I do want to mention that there was great portion sizes for what you pay. Giggy D's rant (I'm sure there are good experiences as well): Went to try it out today since it's close to home. Got my cocktail quickly...husband's coke, kids meal (charred chicken and hard veggies) I ordered ahead, and chips and queso (that you can get at a softball field in an styrofoam bowl) came an hour later. An hour after that came our meals that I had to ask to be bagged up to go because we couldn't wait. I think most tables waited over an hour for food. Waitress was so sweet and not her fault food took so long. Manager on the other hand came over and told us well, it's busy (they didn't have big turnover so not sure how) and we do things with a smile on our face. Not the response a manager should be giving...zero responsibility. Told me he'd give us a gift card only to come back with my coupon he said was too late to use. Would have given them a second chance honestly but after the manager was a Giggy D we won't be back. Just a heads up if you're looking to go watch games and/or are on a time crunch. read more

What a difference time has done to this location. First trip solid 4 stars when they opened and reviewed before. Second trip barely a 3 but did not review. Slow getting food and wasn't cooked very well. Good service though. Figured just an off day. Last night was a disaster. The lack of training to the staff is staggering. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is the server. We felt so bad for her. Started with her drinks. Ordered a $12 glass of wine that was not even a 4oz pour. Come on. I ordered a Guinness on tap. Pouring a Guinness is not like pouring any other beer. If you serve that, you should know that. It was flat, bitter and had no creaminess. Then the dinner fiasco. Started with the loaded fries. They were soggy and mushy. I know what you're thinking, well it has cheese and sauce on it. Yes, but even the ones on the perimeter were the same. Add the goop and they were like liquid. We moved on to the main course. It took almost an hour to get our food. There were only 3 to 4 other tables in the place. Server kept apologizing for the delay saying the cook is backed up and he would get to our order soon. Made no sense but ok. We were not in a rush. Welllllllll.........the Grandies Chicken sandwich came out first. Wife started into her salad first. 4 mins later the server came back and said I am sorry that's not your chicken and took it away. We still didn't Have the other 2 dinners so she was ok with it. 10 mins later it came back with the Philly cheesesteak. I am not sure I would call it a cheesesteak. It was soggy and everything in it was way over cooked. Then my wife tried to cut her chicken in half and the knife wouldn't cut the lower bun. Seriously like a brick. 100% inedible. When my fish and chips came out 10 mins later we sent the chicken back and just ordered some chicken tenders for her to eat. After a while the tenders came out and they were cooked in oil way too hot. The batter was almost black. She took one bit and they were bitter tasting. Think the oil they were cooked in is past its life. Lastly the "chips" that came with my fish were also interesting. The oil they used for the garlic Parmesan was also spoiled. They tasted spoiled and old. You know oil is not forever right? As you can see, I don't have a lot of negative reviews. Pretty tolerant for most things, but poor training of bartenders and cooks is my limit. Especially when it happens over different visits. That is just lazy and inexcusable. Train train train. We may go back, but it would only be for beers (not Guinness). read more

Emily was our server and she was great. My big issue was the bait and switch. Showed up at 530 and ordered from the happy hour menu which was promoted to us by our host. The problem was the order wasn't entered until 603 pm and paid an extra 5 dollars for the nachos (17 dollars instead of the 12 dollar happy hour price). The burger and fish and chips were overcooked but had good flavor. I could see potential here with a few tweaks. read more

Don't sleep on Giggy D's for a sports bar to watch the game, or dinner with the crew. I went with my 5 year old daughter last night and had a really great meal. They do a great job with the kids food - well seasoned mixed veggies, a legitimate small cheeseburger with a nice bun and seasoned smash patty, appropriate kids cups with straws. The fish and chips were very good too - great quality fries, solid fish that was well battered and fried crispy. Served with tasty fry sauce, plus standard tartar sauce, malt vinegar, and ketchup. Healthy selection of beers on tap and everyone around seemed to be enjoying their food and the atmosphere. Great addition to the Linder/Chinden area! read more

Everything from the moment we walked in the door needed improvement. We stood inside the door for a while before someone from the bar said we could sit wherever we wanted, this was after the 2 waitresses walked by us and didn't acknowledge us at all, not even any eye contact. The place was moderately busy, but there were plenty of empty tables. We sat in the bar area, near the bar station. The bartender brought us menus and said she'd send a waitress. We proceeded to wait approximately 20 minutes, with no eye contact from anyone. The waitresses walked by our table numerous times to deliver food and drinks, while our closed menus were sitting at our table. Still no eye contact, we never even received waters. It was at this point that we walked out. Needless to say, we will never return. Considering you already had to close one restaurant, you'd think some effort would be made to keep this one open. Someone came and gave us menus and walked away. People walked by us and no one stopped to say "hi" "we will be right with you".... Nothing. Had one server make eye contact with me multiple times and just walk by. As a former server I have high expectations. I'm understanding when it's a peak time and the place is packed. There were 3 other tables occupied in the whole restaurant and 6 people at the bar top. I walked out. That's when someone finally came up and spoke to us, when we leaving. I find that if you're not sitting on the bar side, then you're not visible to prompt things like a water refills or when you're ready for the check. The pricing IMO is high for the quality of food. The food is either bland or extremely salty. Nothing in between. The salads are not great. The burgers are bland. The steak burrito is bland. The protein bowl was extremely salty and overcooked. The chicken sandwich was probably the best option along with the Brussels sprouts. For 4 we walked out the door $100 lighter, but not excited to return. read more

Went to dinner with a friend the other night to grab a bite to eat. We both had salads and I had wings. Salads were small (picture a side dinner salad) and every leaf had some form of browning. The type of salad I wouldn't eat at home, unless I had nothing else to eat. Mine was the blue cheese and bacon my friends was a regular house salad. Wings were good but the carrots they provided were shredded like those you put on a salad. The food was yum. The team was friendly. I ordered a club add avocado and got a BLTA. When closing my bill they use the handheld so I didn't see my tab until after I paid and tip. Come to find out I was still charged for the club plus the add avocado fee. I was patient when the service was slow. I was understanding when I got the wrong food but my tipping point is when I am overcharged and I don't even get to see it until I pay and tip. read more

Our first visit to Giggy D's was truly enjoyable. Keeping in mind that this is a sports bar with higher noise levels, our party of four adults thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks we ordered. From the appetizer of queso and chips to the entrees including the BLTA, Steak burger and blue, fish and chips and chicken strips everything was tasty although the chicken could have used additional seasoning. The cream filled churros topped off the meal and were sinful. The waitstaff was very attentive and a big shout goes to Karli for taking good care of all our needs. We're looking forward to trying their new weekend breakfast menu. read more

We've eaten twice at this new location, once just after they opened and once today. The first time, I had the nachos, and Steve had a philly cheesesteak sandwich. The service was wonderful and the food was excellent. I would have given them five stars. This time, however, was a different story. My husband changed his mind and wanted a beer instead of iced tea, but the waitress wasn't responsive, so we ended up paying for both an iced tea and a beer. We both had fish and chips, and they were very good (mine was with onion rings, and my husband's was with fries), although they give you a pittance of tartar sauce for the four huge pieces of fish they give you. Unfortunately, this time, the service was terrible. Makayla was our server. We always go early (3:30 p.m.), hoping for better service and less of a wait. Many of the waitresses were standing around talking when they could have been helping customers. But the manager seemed to pick up the slack. I waited 15 minutes to get my drink refilled, and that was after I asked my server for a refill. The manager finally saw my empty glass at the front edge of the table and asked if I'd like a refill. Then we waited about 25 minutes for a box and a check. We left before happy hour started, but the restaurant was way too loud and crowded. We watched table after table get served and leave before us. All in all, it took an hour and 25 minutes to get our order taken, get our food and pay. We won't be going back. read more
