    Drinking whiskey and telling stories!
    Drew M.

Such a great spot in downtown Meridian. The menu of cocktails and service are top notch. I'd argue there's not a better place in Meridian for an old fashioned. They do a great job with presentation and put the time in to ensure each one is as consistent as the last. The atmosphere and diversity of people is refreshing, great to have a positive vibe with an eclectic group. Seating is limited, however you can comfortably stand or sit out by the fire pit, even when it's a bit chilly! No food but from what I hear, the taco truck out back does not disappoint, going to try it one of these days. It's pricey but you get what you pay for, well worth a splurge, especially if you're into trying new whiskey or tasting something rare (they've got Pappy for those who REALLY want to spend!). Great job Roosevelt, keep rockin'!

This is a really cool bar! It looks old school with the wood panels & moose heads. They have a cool extensive drink menu, but beware they come with a big price tag! I wanted an espresso martini, but they don't have an espresso machine, just FYI. There is an outdoor area where you can hang out at a table or play corn hole.

Ambiance: let me just brag about the energy of this place. AMAZING! If you want a new/secret/hidden location away from downtown this is it! I love everything about this location. Drinks: 3 stars for our drinks, it appeared to be somewhat watered down but it had a delightful taste. I had the old fashion and it was good. The presentation seemed to lack the "wow" factor, but overall it tasted good. Service: 3 stars. Our server didn't seem to know much about drinks and seemed a little reserved. I always love when a server can guide our decision or make a drink I've never had but he stuck to what I liked. Overall it was a good experience! Music was on point! Def coming back and hope to give 5 stars soon!

Downtown Meridian has a bar worthy of any big city downtown. The Roosevelt is a bar that offers historical vibes, warm wood decor, classy but casual style, and a great bar to pony up too. The Roosevelt provides seating at the bar, in private booths, and out back on their patio. The patio offers plenty of seating with a food truck near by. The Roosevelt is super clean with a great bartender (Alex i believe was his name). If you are in downtown Meridian and looking for a well made cocktail, the Roosevelt will not disappoint. This place is a great addition for Meridian and I look forward to many drinks in the future. Cheers Always!

Gorgeous and such a great vibe! The decor was so unique and classy. This place is spotless. The bartender made some awesome drinks!! He was fun to watch, like watching an artist create his masterpiece. Most beautiful bar I've been to in the Boise/Meridian area!

Best bar in downtown Meridian! This place has a nice vibe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It was not very crowded when we were here but it was very early. The drinks were good and the staff was friendly. I wish they had a larger cocktail menu. They offer a few on a board but it is not enough. That is my only feedback for the place. We will definitely return.

Second time was a week later so we could take my niece for her birthday. I love trying new places and checking out their specialty cocktails. They have very unique cocktails with very unique names. Each cocktail has a fun story or description to it as well. They were all very tasty. My favorite, so far, is the Trust Fund Tiki. That is a dangerously good drink. Many of the drinks also come in very fun or classy looking glasses. So far, I have had, along with the drink I have already mentioned, the Cheeky Cheeky, the Porn Star, Irish Goodbye, and the Flirt in the Fruit Isle. They are all delicious and unique in their own ways. The bartenders are a blast too. We had great conversations with them and joked around. The second time we went we got food. I got the fried oysters, my husband got the chicken wings, my niece got the salad and her boyfriend got a chicken sandwich. Everything was fresh and they were cool and brought out my oysters right as they were ready so I had them nice and fresh. The decor... what can I say? Swanky, cool, fun, lots of conversation pieces. We will definitely be back.

This spot is great if you come in on a weekday and enjoy a couple of drinks. If you come in the weekend, don't expect any intimacy. Either way great spot and great cocktails. From the moment you step inside, the place has that quintessential speakeasy feel. The ambiance is dark, moody, and eclectic, with vintage touches throughout. One feature that really caught my eye was a stunning cove-like structure that added so much character to the space. The menu was just as impressive as the décor -creative, varied, and full of unique cocktails that felt thoughtfully designed rather than your standard bar offerings. They even have a few "secret" drinks hidden on the menu, and the staff will happily tell you how to find them, which is a fun touch.Since another reservation was due to arrive in about 40 minutes, we kept it to two cocktails, which was perfectly fine as we were only stopping in for a nightcap. Both drinks were beautifully crafted. I especially loved The Canvas ,it was bright, refreshing, and memorable. My husband wasn't quite as enthusiastic about his cocktail, though he's generally not one to send a drink back or complain. The staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout our visit. A small window in the door opened and we had to provide a password to gain entry. (Initially our large group had to reserve 3 time slots and we would be seated separately.) I was in the first group. We were let into a small area with floor to ceiling bookcases. Of course there was a book that once pulled, opened a secret door to the bar within. The ambiance was dim lighting and groups of comfortable seating areas. The waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the drinks on the menu. I started with a mocktail that could be made vegan by omitting the egg white. Beautifully presented with a flower design. It was sweet and it was tart. The second drink I got was a cocktail that was smooth with a perfect amount of sweet. My friends got cocktails in their unique glasses. When our next group came through, they were led into a room. After a while, one friend came out to say hello to us. The waiter noticed that we knew each other and told my group to follow him. The room was dimly lit and was furnished with comfortable armchairs and couches. Our third group was able to join us in the room and we were able to mingle seated or standing. The different drinks that were ordered were so cool. A smoky bubble was set on top of a cone shaped glass that resembled an ice cream cone. I had a couple of friends that ordered gin drinks and they were served in a bathtub complete with rubber ducky! This was such a fun and special way to celebrate a friend's birthday! The service was superb!

Imagine yourself walking through the 8th St promenade in downtown Boise. It's hustling and bustling with people and restaurants that are packed. Then, out of the corner of your eye, you see an alley. It's kinda dark, maybe a little unsettling at first. You see a steel door with a small panel at the top of the door. No door handles but a green lit old stagecoach light, a small wooden sign hanging g just beyond the door with a key on it. Hmmm, strange. In faded sharpie letters it says Knock knock on the metal door, so you knock twice. The panel on the door slides open and they ask for the password. Whoa!!!! Luckily you called ahead to make reservations so they whispered it to you. You give the password and door opens to a tiny little library with a couple of shelves full of books. The hosts welcomes you and you stare at the bookshelf knowing it isn't just a bookshelf but a door. You try pulling on different books guessing which is the right one but after a minute the hostess shows you and you enter a beautiful brick walled 1920s decorated room with seats and dim lights and no windows whatsoever. The artwork is prohibition-era themed. Heck, there's even a stack of wooden barrels that supposedly hold spirits. That is exactly the speakeasy experience you are looking for. We were seated in the boiler room, a private area which had beautiful wooden lockers with glass doors all lit up and full of booze. Books line the wall and there is an old fireplace covered with candles that have melted wax all over the mantle. In the corner is a poker table. Really the perfect vibe for a speakeasy. Glance at the menu and notice their tang of cheaper to very rare and unique spirits, some costing hundreds of dollars for a shot. Whisky, vodka, rum, gin, scotch, bourbon, you name it. But also check out their cocktails. They can even make mocktails if you don't want alcohol. Not only are the drinks unique but so is their presentation. The glades used I've never seen. Some drinks have a printed pattern on them, others come with dry ice that quickly evaporates or a cool smoked filled bubble. The whole experience was just amazing. This is a do not miss opportunity if you like drinks and cool, unique experiences. They even have another room in the back called the Garrison Room which looks like a mineshaft. I just love the thought put into this place. And when you are done, you exit through a nondescript door and exits to a patio area of another restaurant and back out to the promenade. Just a wow experience! So glad I did it.
