I finally had an opportunity to check it out back in June when I went to my class reunion. I like the atmosphere of Huck and Finns. I really like the look and I will probably return sometime. The plus about this place is the fact that the music isn't super loud like it is in other bars. This is something that makes me fond of places. You can actually go out and have a conversation instead of screaming over the music. The variety of drinks is decent. What I found a little disappointing was the fact that there wasn't any waitresses coming to the table. I sat in the booth for a good hour or so and not once did I see someone come over and ask if we would like another beer. I am used to that going to other places. Overall, this is a nice place. If you want somewhere to go for a drink in Emmett you should try Huck and Finns. It is definitely something different for the small town and I hope they are around for a while.

I was in town for business, and I had a local friend tell me, "you gotta go in here. You can tell…read morethe bartender what you like flavor wise, and they will make you something even better than you can imagine." And that, my friends, is exactly what happened. I walked in, not sure what to get. The bartender asked me what flavors I like. She went away and made me this epic cocktail. She told me all the things she added, and it was clear, these bartenders are the real deal. They know their stuff. I drank my delightful cocktail way too fast. But it was so damn good. The vibe is fun. They bartenders interact with everyone and do all kinds of cool things with cool ingredients and tell you about it all. Perfect spot for a loungey date night, or a meet up with a friend. There is no food. But plenty of spots on 8th in walking distance. This is probably one of the best cocktail bars I've ever been to. ... and I've been to a lot. :)

We spotted The Mode Lounge while out exploring downtown Boise…read more We popped in for a cocktail before heading to dinner. We hoped to grab a patio seat but the patio was packed so we went inside. The inside is dark and decorations are interesting. There is a variety of seating such as high tops, comfortable conversation chairs & tables as well as a booth. It has window seating available as well. We were actually the only people inside the lounge except one person at the bar. I soon realized why everyone was sitting outside after we took a seat and ordered cocktails. The music was so loud we could barely hold a conversation. Regardless, our server Nick was great. He was very attentive and constantly checked in with us for drinks. We ordered a Party Girl Mule, the Chili Gringo Mule and a dirty martini. All were delicious. I prefer my martinis colder and a glass filled to the rim. I felt the martini was lacking volume for the price of the martini. The Mode Lounge patio is located right on the walkway so it looked like a great spot for people watching. We didn't hang out too long as we had a difficult time talking with the loud music but we did like the drinks and our server, Nick. We will stop by again but look for outside seating.

The karaoke is such a fun highlight, and the sound system actually sounds really good when you're up there singing--which isn't always the case at bars. The drinks are super affordable, and there's plenty to do between pool and darts, so it's easy to hang out for a while without getting bored. I've also tried the pizza, and honestly, it was surprisingly good for bar food. The bathrooms can be a little sketch at times, but that kind of comes with the dive bar territory. Overall, it's a fun, laid-back spot that I keep coming back to.

I also got 86'd because of something my friends did that I had nothing to do with and "hustling drinks from other people" (which makes zero sense, people are allowed to buy eachother drinks). From the moment you step inside, the place has that quintessential speakeasy feel. The ambiance is dark, moody, and eclectic, with vintage touches throughout. One feature that really caught my eye was a stunning cove-like structure that added so much character to the space. The menu was just as impressive as the décor -creative, varied, and full of unique cocktails that felt thoughtfully designed rather than your standard bar offerings. They even have a few "secret" drinks hidden on the menu, and the staff will happily tell you how to find them, which is a fun touch.Since another reservation was due to arrive in about 40 minutes, we kept it to two cocktails, which was perfectly fine as we were only stopping in for a nightcap. Both drinks were beautifully crafted. I especially loved The Canvas ,it was bright, refreshing, and memorable. My husband wasn't quite as enthusiastic about his cocktail, though he's generally not one to send a drink back or complain. The staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout our visit.
