Great food & staff was friendly. We were just in time for Kids & Teen Karaoke today @2pm, it was pretty fun. My husband and I like how they involved kids for that, it's family oriented. I had a turkey club sandwich, which was good & my husband had a pull pork sandwich & he loved it, everything came together well. Spicy Maple-Rosemary Saloon nuts as an appetizer were great, not as spicy as you think. I don't like spicy but these were the good spicy kick. I forgot to take a picture of our food P.s. don't believe the negative reviews on here, we didn't experience anything bad. Give it a try. I was in Boise because my company has a small office there. Decided to visit some friends in Eagle. They brought me to Old State Saloon for some light eats and drinks. Ambiance is kind of like a dive bar. Food was not the best and a bit overpriced. I tried the beef barbacoa tacos and pulled pork sandwich. The taco was okay, but the pulled pork was pretty dry even with the bbq sauce. Ordered an Old Fashioned drink with my meal. I always judge a bar by how they make the traditional drinks like Old Fashioned, mojitos, and Long Island ice tea to name a few. It was bad. Not sure how they got it bad. Too much bitters? Cheap alcohol? I don't know. The "highlight" of my night was an interaction with the bartender lady. After all the eating, my friends and I stuck around outside to chat. I decided to go back in to grab a beer.The Yakima Blend IPA caught my attention so I asked for that. I pay $13 for it. Bartender gives me my cash change. I leave a $5 bill as tip (on a $13 beer!). She takes it and asks, "That's it?" Too good for a 40% tip? My company keeps an unofficial list of must-try and stay-away-from hotels and restaurants near our offices in various states. First time here! Great service and very friendly. My sister and I had the turkey club. Oh my goodness, excellent and a huge portion. We both loved it. The sandwich was melt in your mouth good. My husband had the pastrami wrap (warm) and he was very happy! Pastrami was excellent ... tender and flavorful. Will definitely go back!! read more

The gloryholes were way too small. Some guy named Mark (I think he said), kept offering to by my underaged son drinks and kept saying "I love him" and "hope he's ready for a good time later". Just a weird dude. My friends from San Bernardino told me about this place, but obviously they haven't experienced that. Also, I noticed some rat poop at the kitchen entrance as I was leaving the gloryholes. Also, there was a spider in the toilet. Just overall not a good experience, but open to trying it again if they get the gloryhole and spider problem fixed read more

The food was okay, but the overall experience was uncomfortable and off-putting. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and I had multiple interactions where political and religious views were pushed on me while I was just trying to enjoy a meal. It made the entire experience awkward and unpleasant. What really put me off was seeing what appeared to be mouse droppings along the windowsill and baseboards. Between the obvious cleanliness concerns and the uncomfortable environment, I left without finishing my food or drink. After looking into the business afterward, I realized how controversial the owner is and how strongly certain strange agendas seem to be pushed through this establishment. First time trying this place after years of hearing about. The atmosphere was fantastic, staff was helpful and friendly. I was kind of off put by the $16 turkey club looking at the menu but decided to give it a shot. After taking my first bite the $16 was more than justified. I driven past this place so many times and had never tried it. They apparently still don't have their full kitchen open yet but if the food options increase over what they offer now, it'll be excellent. Stopped by on a Friday afternoon and it was one of the few dog friendly places open and available. Sat at a table outside along State Street. Service was quick since we were the only diners. Huge beer and drink selections. The two locals beer choices were great. The food was delicious and full of flavor. I hope they serve french fries when their full kitchen opens because I'm sure they will be good (fingers crossed). read more

Checked this place out due to its history. It's a cool, saloon with a hometown vibe. Casual atmosphere, down to earth crowd. Been here twice, once in the morning to try their coffee. I highly recommend their coffee. The barista made me her specialty- a huckleberry, white chocolate late drizzled with honey. Delicious! The second time, we came here at night to listen to live music. Ordered an Old fashion with orange-cardamom homemade syrup was a great complement. The maple-spiced nuts were fantastic! The best part is they serve it warm. The cheese pimento dip was good but the tallow fried corn chips were the best part of that appetizer. Parking is limited, pay attention to signage from other businesses. read more

This is a great place! When we went in the street out front was completely torn up so there were only a few people there... I'm sure once all the street construction is finished it will be busier. We came in just for a drink and loved the atmosphere, beautifully decorated... kinda high end saloonish. Lots of unique drinks. Looks like they have music , but not the night we went. Bartender was really friendly made a few suggestions and seemed be giving great service to all the patrons. I looked at the food coming out.... Looked pretty good.... Change of ownership this year. Big open space, long bar, and many beer taps. Ambiance and echo of an empty warehouse. The plan to serve food from a kitchen has failed and it looks like it will be one year late. Who spends thousands of dollars cleaning up a wreck of a bar and then does not have a workable plan for food after starting to build a kitchen? Some business giant, this one is. Nothing about this place says welcome or "return". Bar staff are expert in ignoring the customers directly in front of them. Never again. Nothing worthwhile here. Honestly, can't say enough bad things about this place, firstly the way the owner speaks to his staff and displays his political preferences is very off putting. Secondly the food was subpar, and if you've spent any time working in kitchen's the corner cutting is highly evident if you've spent any time working in kitchens it's not hard to see the lack of standards that this kitchen holds. I got the large Bratwurst, and my wife got the "Sarahs Favorite" sandwich the bratwurst came out cold as if had been sitting in the window waiting. On top of that the overall experience of being in this environment was highly off-putting, even for someone with conservative beliefs, the energy in that environment felt quite extreme. This business owner clearly has no capacity of separating his personal beliefs from how he conducts his business as a professional and has no problem letting EVERYONE knows how he feels about everything, and that's his right to do so. That being said I'm quite confident this is not a place I want to spend anymore of my money. read more

We live local in Eagle and enjoy an afternoon drink when it's been a busy week. The Mrs wanted a mimosa so we went to the Saloon, place wasn't very busy and only a beer rep was stopping by(bringing in 5 cans of Coors Light.) We joked with the bartender about the Coors and she said the owner doesn't allow it, we only offer local. Which then made less sense when she poured sparkling wine from California. Following up they got a new POS system for paying and I mentioned that the tips seemed high(20, 25 and 30). The bartender then lectured me on how we should tip and it's not enough. Continuing to tell me a gentleman last night said he wanted to give more than 30 and needed help to do it. Then her final statement, "when I go out and order a beer, I always just give a $5 when buying a beer." Needless to say, we enjoyed the saloon while it lasted. read more

Ick, ick, ick This was our 3rd time there and the last. We had been there different times of the day. This is Friday night and it progressively got worse as the night went on. Alcohol with no food is a bad idea. People were drunk, falling off chairs and jumping on tables dancing and we walked out at 10 pm. I get that sounds fun but we're talking about a crowd mostly in their 60's. This place is what people refer to as a wrinkle room. Ugh. Some couples were dancing/zigzagging through the tables all night. Then some idiot has to do this piercing whistle after each song. Just a really strange crowd, some were very cringey. The staff was o, nice enough, but we didn't understand why they didn't have more control of how much their patrons were drinking. Likely they'll need a bouncer soon. Seemed like a great idea at first but I guess it's cut out for a certain type of crowd. read more
