I just recently came here with my husband for a date night! This place has come highly recommended from our daughter. She's been here 4 times and everytime she says how awesome it is!! And, she was right! My husband and I sat in the area of restaurant covered patio outdoor and man was it just a beautiful evening. You can see perfectly out to the green belt. From the front desk host to our server Brandon was truly amazing hospitality! This place is super vibrant, great set up, super spacious, the bar area is really cool! I can see this just being a great place to eat "all year round" even in the hot summer! Just make reservations to your accommodation. During the season changes! However, food was a 10/10!! We met up with a pretty large group for dinner at this restaurant. Called ahead to make reservations and when we arrived we were seated right away. The ambiance of the restaurant had a fun vibe. The music was fun, and there was even a live DJ! There are blankets at the table as it was a little chilly since the doors were open. The service was great and our server was attentive. I wanted to enjoy our experience at Pig Latin, but the attitude and overall vibe completely overshadowed the food. The restaurant acts like it's operating at some untouchable James Beard level, yet the customer experience was far from it. We watched families get turned away while the restaurant sat nearly half empty for 45 minutes -- and yes, I literally timed and recorded it. Meanwhile, guests were being told to eat at a firepit instead of being seated at actual open tables. That's not "exclusive," it's poor hospitality and lack of management. And please don't hide behind the "we have reservations" excuse. Reservations should mean your table may not be ready exactly at your reservation time, not that large sections of the restaurant sit unused while paying customers are turned away or treated like an inconvenience. What really stood out was the manager walking around like she was royalty instead of helping create a welcoming atmosphere. A little humility and customer focus would go a long way. I went to pig Latin for the first time tonight for an early Mother's Day celebration. The atmosphere was so fun, they had great music playing and the cutest decor. The windows were open to let in the warm spring air and the view of the river was so nice. The service was great. Our waiter was very prompt and had great suggestions for what to order. The last time I came here was for my brother in law's birthday. We had such a fun time that I thought my daughter would enjoy having a celebratory lunch here for her 21st! Of course the night before I went onto Pig Latin's website and checked out their menu. Online had a lunch menu and several taco options. So I was pretty excited to have lunch here for my daughter's birthday. I didn't make lunch reservations. I know dinner is busy but with lunch being so chill, I gambled not making one. The host got us to our table without any issues. We were sat by the big windows that were cracked open. I appreciate the fresh air and breeze. It is starting to cool down now that it's September so it was cold sitting where we were at. It was pretty cause of the view but it was honestly uncomfortable cause of how cold it was. We checked out the menu for a bit before our server showed up. The menu is not the same as the online menu. And the menus we got were not lunch either even though there's a lunch menu online on their website. A little confusing and misleading. So we just went with what we were given. Hannah took care of us today. She's a very sweet gal. She got my daughter's drink and my mocktail ordered. And for lunch we started off with some queso blanco. I ordered the grilled shrimp with a side of rice and beans for lunch. My daughter got the Cubano sammy with fries. Our drinks and chips with queso came out first. The mocktail was tasty! It was sweet and sour. It was beautifully garnished with a piece of dried pineapple. My daughter got a prickly pear margarita. She drank a quarter of it and we asked for more prickly pear mix. It was a little too strong for her but after we added the extra mix it was perfect. The queso was super thick and rich. The chips were lightly dusted with tajin which added a nice extra flavor to the chip. We tried to eat the queso as fast as we can but due to where we were sitting, the cheese got cold and hardened up pretty fast. Which was such a bummer cause it would have been nice to enjoy the cheese dip while it was hot. Our food came out shortly. My daughter's Cubano sandwich was massive! And she a generous helping of fries. My small plate had 3 skewers on it. 3 pieces of shrimp on each skewer. The rice looked beautifully cooked and fluffy! The side of beans was no joke! You got a generous side of them. My grilled shrimp were tasty. They were Argentine red shrimp. They do have a pungent smell to them, very fishy. The shrimp were nicely grilled and flavorful. It went perfectly with the Mexican rice. The beans tasted smoky and I didn't really care for them. My daughter's sandwich was nicely toasted and crunchy. The pork was tender. The pickles added an extra crunchy element to it. My favorite were the fries! Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle! So good! We ended lunch with a fabulous piece of tre leches cake with a fun sparkling candle for my daughter's birthday. The cake was moist and not overly sweet. The strawberries on top was a nice addition to the cake. It was a huge chunk of cake. I felt bad for not finishing it. My daughter and I had a fun time starting her birthday shenanigans at Pig Latin today. There were a couple flaws with our visit today but overall it was great having lunch here. The menu doesn't have many chicken options. There are a lot of pork and beef. You are not able to mix and match tacos. They have to be all be the same. I was on the fence on trying Pig Latin due to mixed reviews and service complaints. Not to mention, it's still very popular and long wait times are not my favorite thing to experience. My friend wanted to spoil me for my birthday, so she made reservations. We arrived on time for our reservation at 6:30, with a requested covered patio seat preference, but was told that would require an additional 30 minute wait. Not a good start...but there was room at the bar, so we ordered the prickly pear margarita. The margarita was gloriously pink with a roll in black salt, which made it fun. The drink was not shy on alcohol content but didn't taste like a heavy pour. A nice balance of sweet and salt, loved every sip...just the hefty $14 price tag was sour. After a short wait we were seated in the covered patio, next to a nice planter. It felt secluded even though there were plenty of people around us. I loved the feeling of the patio...open, tropical (not in a cheesy way) and cool vibe. The only downside was that voices carry and table spacing is small in here, so the loud party with kids across from us required my friend and I to converse by semi-shouting. We opened with the chips and queso, per the suggestion of our server. The chips were heavily salted to perfection and the queso was mild, though nicely flavored. I will suggest eating while hot...once it cools, it's paste-like and harder to scoop up. I ordered the halibut street tacos, my friend ordered the carnitas. Food came out in good timing with our appetizer, which was appreciated. We both were in awe over the beautiful taco plates. My fish tacos were perfectly symmetrical, slathered with "secret sauce". The fish was scrumptiously beer battered; crunchy outside and soft, buttery insides. The tacos were full of fresh pico and warmed corn tortillas. Mouthwatering and immensely satisfying. My friend gobbled up those carnitas tacos with matching gusto. Service was friendly and prompt. I enjoyed our server. Tried this new spot and I have to say, the ambience is superb! You would never guess it from the outside of the building as it looks like any other commercial building but it is a total surprise with all the artwork, south american vibes permeating from the bar and restaurant the second you walk in. The service here was stellar from entry to finish. Our waiter met all our needs and accommodated us with excellent suggestions. The drinks we had were also flavorful and creative. The food definitely had its ups and downs and felt like they were trying to hard with so many different variations of food styles and combinations they missed the goal on some of their prime items. We started with their chips and queso blanco which was a good start. We ordered their korean kalbi which was way to salty for any of us to eat. For $20+, you gotta get that right. They were nice enough to comp us for that order. We ordered their empanadas which were ok(we are tango fans so might be biased) I had their Pig Latin Burger which was probably the best thing I tasted from the dinner menu (although its not listed on their website menu). The sauce was steller and burger was seasoned/cooked great. Also had a nicely toasted bun. The fries that came with it everybody enjoyed so much we ordered another side of it. The others tried short rib(roasted tomato salsa, cilantro, onion, cotija) and pork belly(seared pork belly with guacamole) tacos. Both meats looked good but were suprisingly dry in each taco. The salsa couldn't save it. We had the Tres Leches for dessert and it was tassty! Airy, but not to sweet and wet the way is supposed to be. So while there food still needs some work... I believe they will get there and if they nail that, this will be a 4.5 star restaurant. This was our first time here. They had a cool vibe and our server was as amazing!! When it came time to order I asked many questions because I have Celiac Disease. Their menu was marked with GF items. When I went to order the tacos the waiter said they aren't GF even though they are marked on the menu. He check with the kitchen and they are NOT GF. I've been here three times now. Hostess are friendly and accommodating. Making a reservation online was easy even same day if you go early enough. Two out of three times the service was a little off but never enough to ruin our experience. One time it was fantastic. Went in for a birthday celebration the place it's very busy. Our server was pretty nice and attentive. My drink which I can't remember the name because my girlfriend order for me was amazing. I had an appetizer I think was the ceviche with coconut milk I think but I didn't really liked it wax alright. We didn't really order food we had mainly drinks and appetizers. There was a DJ that was pretty nice. The patio was very beautiful with the decor and the water fountain. That was a nice touch. The hallway that leads to the bathrooms was a good spot to take pictures and one think that I absolutely did loved was their cake the slice of cake they brought out when they sing happy birthday to my friend that was so delicious by far one of the best cakes I have had. This is a really lively new spot in Eagle. It's vibrant, dare I say "youthful" and different but not too different for the local area. Bar is the highlight, and the server we had was gracious enough to give us the history and explain how all of it is purposely curated and done. But- like so many nice spots- no freaking fireball. Husband was bummed. Just add it guys! It won't ruin any vibes! Food was good, maybe not great, blow your mind type of stuff, but it was worth coming back for- especially the truffle fries. When Pig Latin first opened, I was one of those people that was really uncertain about it. Advertising as a "night-club" type atmosphere in Eagle just didn't seem like they weren't gonna make it. Well I'm glad I waited to try this place and have continued to go back at last 5 times because it is an INCREDIBLE addition to Eagle! We've sat down and ate at the bar while we were there, but yesterday we got a booth in the back for an early Valentines dinner. Kyla was our server and she was so incredibly sweet! We ordered the chips and guac for our app, and for our entrees my husband got the steak (can't remember which one) and I got the Mediterranean Branzino. My husbands exact words were "this is probably the best steak I've had in a long time" which is crazy when you think about all of the other restaurants that serve a steak in the area. I will honestly admit that I didn't know what branzino was and I wouldn't order it again. Not sure how it's supposed to be served, but the first bite of it had 5 bones which was really off putting. I kind of picked at it for a moment before realizing it was just a fluke and the rest of the plate was bone-free. Once I got past that it had a really nice flavor and the veggies it was served with had a great season! For drinks, my husband got 3 of their margs but substituted in mezcal; his favorite is the Al pastor, said the chili passion was decent, but the prickly pear was too sweet. I did the espresso martini and the valentines special Dirty Little Secret, both vodka based (I'm not a tequila drinker). Their espresso martini is one of my faves! A good mix in both drinks between being able to taste the alcohol and the expected flavor notes. If you tried Pig Latin when it first opened and wrote a poor review, I would really suggest giving this place another shot. We just moved to Idaho a couple months ago, so we don't have a ton of go-to places here. Today was my wife's 37th bday and we knew all day we wanted to go to dinner, but we didn't have a target restaurant. Four or so days ago, we took our three kids (17, 11, 9) to Outback Steakhouse in Boise - we hadn't been in a couple years but knew we'd be in for a decent steak, decent price and things would be consistent. We proceeded to have the worst experience/meal/service of our lives, so we really wanted to find something local with a fun atmosphere. Semi-last minute, I ran across Pig Latin on Google, saw the menu and booked our table online. A couple hours before, I ran into Trader Joe's and during my convo with an employee, they raved about the place...so I was excited. I didn't tell my family where we were going, just wanted a surprise. We showed up and it seemed pretty slow (Sunday 7:45pm). This made me nervous, since this is exactly what happened at Outback days earlier. We were seated immediately and our server, Jordan, greeted us and took over for the night. He gave us a rundown of the restaurant, the best cocktails, starters, the guy that created the cocktail menu, the ranch the prime beef comes from, the Colombian family that comes to make the empanadas (2 of the last 3 sound fake, but I assure you they aren't). Jordan was like a tour guide, and on a night we were open to the whole menu, it was perfect. Started with chips/salsa/dip flight. All very good, bean dip was the star. Two apps; the aforementioned empanadas were very good, with a nice crisp. The crab cakes were top tier. Fresh lump crab, a little crust, done perfectly with a spicy sauce underneath. I would go back for these alone. We skipped cocktails, however next time I will have a margarita - they sounded incredible and considering the cocktail curator won awards for these recipes, why not? Kids got Mexican cokes, nothing crazy. Youngest daughter got the chicken burrito from the kids menu. Chicken. cream cheese, crispy flour tortilla. The only item. My 11 year old son only orders burgers - this one off the kids menu and large, made with brisket, Tri tip and something else in the blend...fries. Looked great. 17yo daughter got the lamb birra tacos, these were excellent. 12-hour cooked lamb from New Zealand. My wife and I ended up splitting the chimichurri skirt steak and chose the truffle oil fries. This steak was fantastic. Prime cut from the farm in Washington they use. My oldest daughter said it was the best steak she's had (we eat a good amount of steak - they all like mine but apparently I'm now second). I agree with her, the steak was incredible - you could cut it with a butter knife, this was a SKIRT. Wife loved it. Win win win. Lastly, they brought us a large piece of tres leches (which we were told was actually four creams) and a small firework and 80's Casio for a nice birthday song (cake was on the house). We devoured the creamy, delicate cake in two minutes. Ambience was great. Jordan told us this was the slowest day of the entire year so far (cold Sunday...not sure what other reason). He said all the tables are usually packed. I def believe it. Really liked the atmosphere - bright, festive lights in a dimmed dining area. Beautiful circular bar. We will be back, it hit on all aspects. And again, Jordan crushed it and made us feel welcome and special. My 9 year old daughter likes to write stuff, draw stuff, rate stuff. The ambience is bright and cheerful. Located in the corner of building off Rivershore, across Eagle from Bardenay, it also has a nice patio area. My chicken, with the spicy mayo sauce, was good. They serve a flour-corn blend tortilla, and one half of one tortilla was like cardboard. I want to start with a point that seems most important to me personally, this is not a kid friendly restaurant. If you're planning on bringing a child, don't. I actually felt as if the hosts were a little rude when I was asking about high chairs and kids menus (which they do not have either). Although it saddens me when chips and salsa aren't complimentary at Mexican restaurants. The entrees didn't seem worth the cost. I also wish you could mix and match tacos instead of having to get 3 of the same. The dessert was amazing! I'm not even a big tres leche fan. The atmosphere is kind of spicy kind of wild definitely liked it. Our server was great. Found Blanco queso to be flat and really not worthy of the price point. The empanadas were good crispy and have wonderful flavor, but I expected them to be bigger. The Chile relleno was unique, and I really enjoyed the crispy tortilla chip crust. I would definitely recommend that dish. Knocked off a star for the portion sizes in pricing. I would definitely not do the chips and queso again, but would go for a better appetizer. read more

The food was fun, but I was still a bit hungry after my meal. If you want to try it out, go to Costco and get their gift card there to get the best bang for your buck! It may sound simple, but the chip appetizer was my favorite. Although they claim it's kid friendly, with a kids menu, I wouldn't recommend bringing your kids here. Very good skirt steak and American burger! Will be coming back for sure! Look like theybserve alot of coffee also.

I'm not sure where the bad reviews are coming from. I think they have great food and both times I've been the service has been good.

Good is not good and menu is confusing. They have a little bit of everything and nothing is very good.
