I've been here three times and I'm always impressed with the atmosphere and experience. We sat in the bar for this visit and had a three course dinner. Started with a few appetizers, and of course had to get the table-side guacamole. It's made custom to heat preference so we got medium this time. Ryan was our server and attentive the entire time. I ordered the salmon for dinner and it was incredible! A few friends of the steak, and it looked great too. We got a couple desserts to share, the ice cream donut and crème brûlée. Overall amazing meal and service.

We came during a busy time and generally they like for you to have reservations but fortunately they had room in the VIP section so we were sat in seconds. The room is cute and has good vibes but it definitely is VIP. Closed off to any people watching. We got the crab bisque, flatbread stuffed pepper and it was amazing!! I ate all of my plate. The waitress was very kind and attentive. I had found something in my food and I wasn't sure what it was so I asked the waitress and she wants sure. Honestly, I wasn't pressed about it and still ate the whole thing. She said the manager was going to comp me but I told her NO! I ate the whole thing I Will absolutely pay for it. She still took it off so I left a %50 tip. Excellent food, service and prices. Must recommend!

The service was outstanding. The food was amazing. And the atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming. I spent my birthday here with my girlfriend and her friend and her friend's boyfriend. We want to come back for more tasty entrees.

It's been a few years since I have been to Barbacoa. Tonight we came in for my husband's company late Christmas Christmas party. Last year we celebrated at their sister restaurant Coa Del Mar and enjoyed every bit of it. My husband and his co workers can't get enough of the filet hot rock. It was an unanimous vote to come to Barbacoa to celebrate our post holiday dinner. Our first interactions coming in was not pleasing. I will have to say, the hostesses were quite rude and unorganized. Our table had already checked in and sat. We were the last ones to show up. The hostess had a hard time locating our reservation even though our party was already somewhere in the dining area. We repeated the reservation name to her several times. Clearly she wasn't paying attention since we had to say it over and over again. After several attempts, she finally located our party. "Someone will guide you to your table". After standing there for a bit we realized no one was going to "guide us" anytime soon. It's such a shame that we started our experience with this kind of service. We ended up just locating our party on our own. She was completely useless in the help department. Our server had gotten drinks started for our table since we got there late. She got us squared away after we got ourselves situated. We breezed over the menu while she grabbed our sodas. Guac was also started for the table. The table side guacamole never disappoints. We toasted, enjoyed our appetizer and hung out till our server was ready to take our orders. I ordered the ribeye tonight. My husband got the filet hot rock with a couple of his co workers. I asked for my ribeye to be really well done. With my new kidney, I can't really have undercooked steak. Our server reassured me that my steak will be cooked well done and that it was going to be great. For my side I got some asparagus. I have had the asparagus every time I have eaten here and it's always fantastic. It was busy tonight and there were quite a few of us in our group so our food did take a minute to get prepared. But after everything was dropped off, I knew it was worth the wait. Our food looked phenomenal! The gentleman who poured my husband's cognac sauce did a great job, great presentation. I got my beautiful ribeye on a black board placed in front of me. My friend next to me ordered the salmon. On her salmon was a vibrant orchid. It added such an elegant touch to her plate. Everyone's food looked fantastic. This is where I compliment the chef. My ribeye was juicy, flavorful and it had outstanding char marks on it. For my ribeye to be cooked well done, it was so tender. The sauce that was paired with it was tangy and spicy. It was the perfect sauce for my ribeye. The asparagus once again was money. I ate a little more than half of my steak and I look forward to finishing it tomorrow. Dessert was a must after we finished dinner. I have had the fried ice cream pops in the past. They are too good! But the bananas foster was calling my name tonight. Our friends next to us ordered the same dessert. The rest of the party got the fried ice cream pops. The presentation for the bananas foster was magnificent. We dug right in after the flame went out. The bread pudding was divine. The gelato that came on the side was sweet and creamy. Paired together the bread pudding and gelato was the ultimatecombination. As full as I was, I had to finish this lovely dessert. Our start wasn't the best. The hostesses are the first people to set the tone of your dining experience. I'm happy that our server, the vibe and of course the food made up for such horrible first interactions. Our server was on point and so was everyone else who tended to our table. With Barbacoa having such a rich and romantic vibe, it resonates in their food. Everything about tonight was lovely. Looking forward to coming back when it's warmer so we can sit out on the patio by the water. I can't think of a better way to enjoy to have dinner.

Barbacoa Grill is definitely one of the most unique dining spots in Boise. The atmosphere is super cool artsy, modern, and a little over-the-top in a fun way. It's a great place for a date night or special occasion. The food was overall really good. The wagyu steak is full of flavor, I wish there was no sauce and blue cheese on the top and the table-side guacamole is fresh and well done. Oyster was fresh. The chicken wings were good , polenta was delicious. The lemon tart was really really good. Service was excellent ,attentive without being overbearing, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. It's definitely on the pricier side, but totally worth it for the experience. If you're looking for a place that combines great food, atmosphere, and a memorable night out, Barbacoa is the spot.

SO DELICIOUS everything we had was absolutely delicious we started out with guac - they asked how spicy we wanted it which i thought was a nice touch paella was seasoned well, full of flavor and had tons of different proteins seafood mixto was a lemon forward pasta and was perfect to go with the other dishes the new york strip was amazing, love the idea of the hot rock and get the cognac sauce on the side we got the zucchini chips on the side of the steak and they were perfectly crisp! sliced super thin!! Service was impeccable, Tim was so delightful and considerate

Great decor and location, especially with Halloween additions. Service is always top notch at this restaurant and their others. Love their "BOGO" (buy one, get one) drink specials during happy hour. Everyone loved their meals. The rib entree is HUGE (sorry, no pics). Definitely need a to-go box. My carne asada could have used some more seasoning. Chose the hot rock and sauce and even though the sauce is delicious, it doesn't say "carne asada". Could have had some different and additional sides to make your own tacos but still a good dish. Would not order this entree again with all of the other good options. Would some here again.

Traveling from LA to Boise for business. After settling into our hotel we headed out to dinner at Barbacoa. Having been to many great restaurants up and down the California coast I wasn't expecting much more than a nice dinner out and to my surprise it turned out to be one of best dining experiences under my belt. The food was so very savory and flavorful. Gourmet for sure in my book. The presentation was lots of fun, engaging very welcoming. Service was on point and very tentative especially considering how busy they were. Friday night what can I say. It was a great time. The restaurant was very stylish with a red themed vibe which made it alluring and relaxing. Trendy but setting the pace in their own way. Another one of many good reasons to return to Boise.

This place is amazing! The food, atmosphere, the service and you get an amazing view! I got salmon and it came with veggies and rice! Everything was cooked perfect and so fresh! My husband got duck 2 ways and he said it was so juicy! We got a lemon dessert that was so sweet and tasty! The service is amazing and they had happy hour drinks! What a great experience! Plus table side guac!

We went to Barbacoa in downtown Boise for a birthday celebration and it was an incredible experience! The food was amazing from start to finish. We started with the table side guacamole, which came with both chips and vegetables for dipping. For our entrées, we had the lamb chops, two hot rock steaks, and the paella, and every dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. For dessert, they brought out a cotton candy cake with a flourless chocolate cake hidden inside, complete with a birthday candle. We also tried the cheesecake bites and the bananas foster, and they were all delicious. The service was excellent throughout the night. Prices are on the higher side, but this is definitely a high end spot perfect for special occasions, and worth every penny. We sat inside, but with the doors open we enjoyed beautiful views of the mountains and pond, which made the evening even better. I highly recommend Barbacoa, especially if you're celebrating something special!

This is my second time visiting this restaurant. The service is impeccable--two servers per table. The restaurant is located by the lake, so the view is great. The food is okay, but the seafood mixto is overpriced. A plate of spinach noodles with two prawns and two large scallops, topped with some random bits of shrimp or crab trimmings, costs $50.

Grilled artichoke was nice with acidic flavors. Pasta was also good , the steak was cooked perfectly but the charred outside was really bitter. The space itself is stylish and lively, with a trendy, upscale vibe that makes it great for date night or a nice dinner out. That said, it can get a little loud, so not the best spot if you're looking for something quiet or intimate. He greeted us warmly and already knew we were there for a birthday. He walked us through the water options and provided excellent wine service for my fiancee's Washington Syrah, ensuring she tasted it first to make sure it was to her liking. The Food: Bread Service: Do not skip this! The house-made sourdough and French bread were served warm. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we loved the olive tapenade that came alongside the whipped butter. The Filet Mignon: My fiancee ordered the 10oz True West Prime NW Filet (medium-rare). It was exactly as expected: juicy, delicious, and finished with a slight char on the edges that we both loved. The Prix Fixe Menu: I opted for the 3-course meal. The Wedge Salad was crisp, and the Braised Bone-in Short Rib was incredible. The meat literally fell off the bone at the slightest touch of my fork. It was served over a parmesan risotto that was equally delicious. The "Chocolate Bomb": For the birthday dessert, they brought out a chocolate lava cake with freshly whipped cream and a hot fudge drizzle. It was the perfect ending to the night. Final Thought: Be prepared to pay a premium for the food and atmosphere, as this is definitely not a cheap meal. However, for a special occasion where you want world-class service, live music, and perfectly cooked steak, Chandlers is well worth the investment.

We then waited by the reservation desk and looked over in the direction of the staff who continued talking . We thought maybe at some point a hostess, or the manager would approach us . I have eaten here several times and have enjoyed the food and service , ...I don't expect anyone to stand at the ready for my entrance, however if you want to finish your story with your co-worker , please just remember that customers bring very little expectation other then to just feel welcome when they cross the threshold. Hope this visit was just bad timing on our part .

Bittercreek provided me with just what I needed today. Warm and inviting service and a terrific selection of food and beverages for me to enjoy. Dined alone at the bar and everyone that I came into contact with did what I expect. Timely greet and informative service personnel. Hats off to the whole team. Was talked into a Chardonnay from the Willamette Valley and it was spectacular. I usually stick to Willamette Valley reds but went for it after a tiny taste. It's what I needed but didn't know it until it was offered. Too many times I stick to my wheelhouse and don't stray but was coerced by someone who I assumed was the inhouse shotcaller. I had two glasses and it went well with the Bowl of Corn Chowder I was told about. Served hot and with some semi crusty sourdough that hit the spot. Finished every spoonful and it brought me back to my time in New England. The soup was done right for sure. Noone trying too hard which is an issue when trying to recreate a coastal favorite while land locked in the mountain state of Idaho. Right before I had.my second glass of Chardonnay, I asked "the front of the house shot caller" about the selection of Rums and was offered a taste of one that could have been a contender for my follow up beverage. No mixer needed. Would have made a great sipper, as most good rums can be but I elected for the second glass of Chardonnay. Glad that I did. Was feeling a bit buzzed and full from my meal and had to exit stage left before trying a dessert. I'm sure it would have been epic but I'm thin for a reason and don't overindulge. Thank you Bittercreek! My visit with you all made me wonder why I hadn't been in since 2006 or 2007. I'll, certainly, be visitong more often and will bring others with. You've got a fan in me!

They have a variety of beers that are their own brand as well as others. No cocktails. Beer and wine only. I got the wedge salad, and hot damn, those little crispy onions rings on there were fire. I also got the brisket Reuben. The sauerkraut had little bits of jalapeño. The brisket was super tender. Nom Nom Nom! This is such a cool spot. They have outdoor seating right on 8th, so you can people watch to your hearts delight. I definitely recommend.

It's fried seafood with some deep fried onions and red peppers. It was good, but not really much for $18. (Come during happy hour when it's 12.). Then I had a steak sandwich with Parmesan fries. It says it's hanger steak. Was very tender meat with pesto sauce on the ciabatta bread. Not much else on the sandwich and not enough sauce. Thin, shoestring type fries covered with garlic parsley, and lots of shredded Parmesan cheese. The service was outstanding. Even though Emma was busy, she helped me and explained the menu to me. This has got to be at least the fifth or sixth time this building has changed. It's quite fancy looking yet dark inside. And prices seem to go up every time. But it's a very good food and happy hour deals look good. I was there at the wrong time though.

A Wisconsin Style supper club in Boise, Idaho? What?!?…read more I was recently on a work trip to Boise and had plans to meet a couple friends for dinner on my first night in town. They suggested Baraboo Supper Club, having zero knowledge that there were any nods to Wisconsin here. Baraboo is a town in Wisconsin and this supper club is owned by a restaurant group in Wisconsin. Also, supper clubs are a very Wisconsin thing. So, does this live up to the Wisconsin Style Supper club hype? It does. It's not an exact replica of how we do it here in WI, but it's close enough to be charming. I enjoyed one of their whiskey cocktails, which was finely rendered. For my dinner, I got the salmon entree, which was delicious. It comes with broccoli and fingerling potatoes which made for the perfect meal. The dining room is warm, welcoming, and just beautiful. The service was friendly and accommodating. Get to it!

The food was delicious but not all of it looked fresh. The daily specialty items ie bbq pork sandwich, and eggs Benedict looked like they had been sitting out for a while. Unfortunately the dessert bar was nothing to right home about. Your typical cookies and bite sized cakes. Nothing special. The ambience was quiet and eclectic. It was nice to try but I definitely didn't eat $40 worth of brunch.
