Wine menu 4/26/26

We are new fans of Stardust. How have we not been here earlier?! Delicious, and playful cocktails included the Pan Am and Tricky Ricky, mixed with love by Tavis. Shared a yummy beet and burrata salad. My airline chicken was a sky high favorite. I haven't eaten every bite of a meal in a while and I polished that whole thing off. Good portion. Husband loved his oysters and duck à l'orange. Dessert? Our terrific server, James, recommended the cheesecake with fresh berries. Good choice! We'll be back. Especially for happy hour that's every single day.

Lobster Bisque

This was such an great spot! We both got seafood entres and cocktails and our ticket was under $80 which we thought was extremely fair. We had the smoked salmon Benedict which was our absolute favorite. The hollandaise was bright and lemon forward which is what I'm always craving. We had the lobster bisque with pastry top which was also delicious, the lobster tasted very fresh. Then for drinks we had the espresso martini and a dry gin martini. Both to die for. And on top of it we had excellent service from James! He explained the menu well and all of his suggestions were spot on. Trust his recommendations, you don't be disappointed!

Eggs Benedict with breakfast potatoes

Lots of bests here at a quality you won't find anywhere else in Boise and I don't have the Michelin-star food vocabulary to adequately describe it. I went for brunch a couple times but I bet I'd experience the same quality for any dish. Everything was absolutely superb: food, cloth napkin-level service, ambiance. 1. Best Eggs Benedict with real hollandaise sauce. You know, whisked lemon, butter and egg yolks over low heat; made fresh, Boise? Yeah, that's hollandaise sauce. No lies or pretenders here. Four Seasons level-quality eggs benedict. 2. Best steak and eggs. Anybody ever had wagyu beef for their "steak and eggs"? Me neither. Get it medium rare. So tender! You won't be disappointed. Breakfast potatoes, twice fried (?) with magic probably; their biscuit, layered like a croissant, star-shaped. Perfectly cooked over-medium eggs. Ugh, dear god, thank you! Sorry didn't get a pic of the steak and eggs; I ate it, too fast for the camera. Certainly Michelin-level quality here at decent prices, with nice-sized portions, not frou-frou, and I have yet to find another restaurant in Boise at this quality. Thank you to the chef who chose Boise, we (desperately) need you!

Would give it a 3.5 if I could! The dinner experience was good - nothing horrible nor spectacular. We really wanted to visit for brunch (menu looked great) but couldn't find time, so we settled for dinner. We got the salmon, steak frites, and artichoke fondue. The salmon was pretty good but the vegetable was very salty (like someone accidentally poured the salt by mistake). Steak was slightly too rare when asked for medium rare and the fries were soggy, which came with some sauce poured on it. Maybe sauce on the side would be a better alternative? The fondue and crispy bread was good though. We were sat in a room with a big party table. From the way the room was built, sound carries far... so the dinner experience was loud I tell you. Not great for date night. The restaurant was empty when we arrived... it would have been nice to be sat away from a big party. However, service was good. Overall, the vibe is slightly upscale. Prices are on the higher end for dinner. I probably wouldn't come back for dinner, but I would like to try their brunch menu in the future!

Oysters from Washington

10/10 came here for happy hour (on Saturday!!) But we made it a little early so got an amazing espresso martini then on to happy hour!! Oysters, burger, crispy mushrooms and fondue soooo good. Even found a pearl in one of the oyster, so this place is a gem literally :)

Fried saltines w/pimento cheese

I've enjoyed Stardust a few different times whether it was for brunch, lunch or the latest, which was happy hour. I particularly like their classic cocktails and my date and I enjoyed the fried saltines and a lobster roll, which was buttery and absolutely delicious! You can't go wrong with a Cosmo and an old-fashioned and the retro inspired ambience always fits the mood! Our service was great and I definitely keep this spot on my list of happy hour favorites

Some of the quirky art I found on the walls

I really enjoyed my food. The French toast was sweet and decadent without all the extra syrup. Highly recommend. Had mine with an espresso martini and got a chance to sit and chat with the bartender it was incredibly friendly and charming. The art on the walls was also upbeat and corky and I kind of like that.

Look out. This is not set up well for groups. This is a fire lane. Don't move anything an inch.

We came with friends who have seen this location turn over a few times, so we thought we'd drop in on a Saturday night to see what Stardust had to offer. We made a reservation, but it wasn't really necessary, 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday, and the place was nearly empty. We started at the bar for cocktails. The martinis and bourbon were served in nice glassware, and the bartender was friendly. From there, we moved to the lounge area in the front, drawn in by the cushy chairs and the window view of the street. However, we were quickly warned not to block a door leading to the patio due to fire regulations. Despite being the only guests in the place, about 15 minutes later, a less-than-friendly staff member reprimanded us about our chair placement. I had only slightly turned mine to better face the group, but their approach felt unnecessarily harsh. I moved the chair back, but the interaction left a bad taste. Why is all this furniture placed in a fire exit area anyway?? The interior has a retro vibe, but yet it felt to me a bit cold and stark, lacking the warmth you'd expect at the price point. On to dinner. I had the steak frites, and while the steak was cooked well, the fries were soaked in meat juices and soggy. A simple sidecar or divider on the plate would have solved this issue. My wife had the salmon Wellington, which seemed to fit the theme, this is definitely a "Wellington" kind of place. One friend had the retro-inspired airline chicken, while the other had a chicken pot pie topped with puff pastry instead of the usual crust. He said it was good. Service was solid, and the food was generally good, but the pricing felt high for the overall experience. Most entrees ranged from $40 to $50, with some reaching $75 a plate, and there were few lower-priced options. When you're paying a premium, you expect both quality food and a quality atmosphere, and Stardust doesn't quite hit that balance for me. The nearly empty dining room on a Saturday night might speak for itself? I'll let you decide. I gave 4 Stars this visit, but almost gave a 3 for "OK".

Outdoor seating and bottle for mimosas and pineapple and orange juice

I come up to Boise once a month. This is my first time here for brunch. It was great. I went Thursday and Saturday morning. Outdoor seating is my thing, but if you like indoor or sitting at the bar the vibe/ambience is fabulous. Very elegant & classy atmosphere to be in especially for the price. Both times I went this weekend, the service, food, and drinks were great. Saturday morning Joseph helped me out and he was a fantastic server. I didn't need for anything, yet I didn't feel bothered or overwhelmed. Definitely coming here for bfast at least once everytime I'm in Boise now!

Duck L'Orange and Spring Cavatapi with salmon

We wanted to try something new to us, and are SO glad we came here. We started with the artichoke fondue which was creamy and flavorful. I got the Duck L'Orange, my husband got the Spring Cavatapi with salmon. Both were delicious. The staff was warm and welcoming. Perfect for date night, we will definitely be back!

We went to celebrate a friend's divorce and first of all our servicer was excellent she was a joy and made our experience so much better and fun. The salmon was delicious the appetizers were good the drinks amazing except I wasn't too excited with the one w glitter not my cup of tea. The place was small but very bright we had a great time. It was a bit pricey that me and my friend shared a meal and appetizers and our bill split in too was still over 100$ but it was a nice time with all my girlfriends

I was in town for business, and I had a local friend tell me, "you gotta go in here. I walked in, not sure what to get. The bartender asked me what flavors I like. She went away and made me this epic cocktail. She told me all the things she added, and it was clear, these bartenders are the real deal. They know their stuff. I drank my delightful cocktail way too fast. But it was so damn good. The vibe is fun. They bartenders interact with everyone and do all kinds of cool things with cool ingredients and tell you about it all. Perfect spot for a loungey date night, or a meet up with a friend. There is no food. But plenty of spots on 8th in walking distance. This is probably one of the best cocktail bars I've ever been to. ... and I've been to a lot. :)

A small window in the door opened and we had to provide a password to gain entry. (Initially our large group had to reserve 3 time slots and we would be seated separately.) I was in the first group. We were let into a small area with floor to ceiling bookcases. Of course there was a book that once pulled, opened a secret door to the bar within. The ambiance was dim lighting and groups of comfortable seating areas. The waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the drinks on the menu. I started with a mocktail that could be made vegan by omitting the egg white. Beautifully presented with a flower design. It was sweet and it was tart. The second drink I got was a cocktail that was smooth with a perfect amount of sweet. My friends got cocktails in their unique glasses. When our next group came through, they were led into a room. After a while, one friend came out to say hello to us. The waiter noticed that we knew each other and told my group to follow him. The room was dimly lit and was furnished with comfortable armchairs and couches. Our third group was able to join us in the room and we were able to mingle seated or standing. The different drinks that were ordered were so cool. A smoky bubble was set on top of a cone shaped glass that resembled an ice cream cone. I had a couple of friends that ordered gin drinks and they were served in a bathtub complete with rubber ducky! This was such a fun and special way to celebrate a friend's birthday! The service was superb!

I've been to several speakeasies around the USA and Gatsby should be the standard of what a…read morespeakeasy should be. No really! Imagine yourself walking through the 8th St promenade in downtown Boise. It's hustling and bustling with people and restaurants that are packed. Then, out of the corner of your eye, you see an alley. It's kinda dark, maybe a little unsettling at first. You see a steel door with a small panel at the top of the door. No door handles but a green lit old stagecoach light, a small wooden sign hanging g just beyond the door with a key on it. Hmmm, strange. In faded sharpie letters it says Knock knock on the metal door, so you knock twice. The panel on the door slides open and they ask for the password. Whoa!!!! Luckily you called ahead to make reservations so they whispered it to you. You give the password and door opens to a tiny little library with a couple of shelves full of books. The hosts welcomes you and you stare at the bookshelf knowing it isn't just a bookshelf but a door. You try pulling on different books guessing which is the right one but after a minute the hostess shows you and you enter a beautiful brick walled 1920s decorated room with seats and dim lights and no windows whatsoever. The artwork is prohibition-era themed. Heck, there's even a stack of wooden barrels that supposedly hold spirits. That is exactly the speakeasy experience you are looking for. We were seated in the boiler room, a private area which had beautiful wooden lockers with glass doors all lit up and full of booze. Books line the wall and there is an old fireplace covered with candles that have melted wax all over the mantle. In the corner is a poker table. Really the perfect vibe for a speakeasy. Glance at the menu and notice their tang of cheaper to very rare and unique spirits, some costing hundreds of dollars for a shot. Whisky, vodka, rum, gin, scotch, bourbon, you name it. But also check out their cocktails. They can even make mocktails if you don't want alcohol. Not only are the drinks unique but so is their presentation. The glades used I've never seen. Some drinks have a printed pattern on them, others come with dry ice that quickly evaporates or a cool smoked filled bubble. The whole experience was just amazing. This is a do not miss opportunity if you like drinks and cool, unique experiences. They even have another room in the back called the Garrison Room which looks like a mineshaft. I just love the thought put into this place. And when you are done, you exit through a nondescript door and exits to a patio area of another restaurant and back out to the promenade. Just a wow experience! So glad I did it.
