    Prohibition old-fashioned!
    Jim M.

We tried Social Oak in Eagle on a Friday night for a night out. It's right next to Crave, which is always busy, so parking can be a bit of a challenge. We went early, before sunset, and I'll say this, the vibe feels very different in daylight. From the photos, it clearly transforms into something much more elegant at night. During the day it's more low-key, almost understated, which made some of the pricing feel a little harder to square in that moment. Yet they do have less expensive options. Service was excellent. Our server was fantastic, turns out she came from Coyne, one of our favorite spots in Eagle, and she did a great job walking us through the menu and the "Southern-inspired" concept. That said, the menu itself was a little confusing. It was described in a way that sounded like shareables, but then also like full entrees. I found myself unsure how to approach ordering, especially with the dry-aged steaks displayed up front. They look impressive, but I wasn't totally clear on how you actually order one. Food-wise, everything we had was very good. The jumbo tiger prawns to start were excellent. I had the Nashville hot chicken salad, really solid, and my wife had the eggplant tacos, which she enjoyed. Drinks were a highlight: the Prohibition Old Fashioned was great and came with a nice tableside presentation, and my wife loved the Outer Banks cocktail. One odd note: they have an extensive bourbon/whiskey selection (around 50), but only one vodka... Tito's. Not my favorite, so that felt like a miss for me. Seems like an easy fix to round that out a bit with a couple more options. We finished with churros, which were outstanding. The crowd skewed pretty young, seemed mostly 30-somethings. We and one other Gen X couple stood out a bit. It's definitely a trendy spot, and everything feels very intentional, which I appreciated. I'm just not entirely sure how the menu concept lands long-term. Overall, I'd recommend it, worth trying for sure. If I went again, I'd probably lean toward going after dark when the atmosphere matches the price point a bit more.

Another amazing visit. Krystal was incredible. Her service level is world-class and a perfect ambassador for the Brand. Just really well done. Great good. Amazing drinks and just love the ambiance. Don't even get me started on the music. Perfect!!!!!

This is not a location for a group - I'd say 2-3 people max. We had a group of 6 and were sat at one of the tiniest tables. We grabbed a few shareables and went across the street for a full meal. Everything we ordered was delicious though!

I discovered Social Oak through Instagram and was really excited to try it out. I made a reservation for the day after their soft opening and ran into a few issues while booking, eventually landing on the first available evening slot at 9:45 PM. I arrived on time and was promptly greeted and seated, which I appreciated. The atmosphere was beautiful, and you can tell a lot of thought went into the concept of the restaurant and bar. That said, I felt a bit underwhelmed by the menu overall and found the prices slightly high for the offerings. I ordered two mixed drinks -- they were tasty, but nothing particularly memorable. I also ordered the crack chix sandwich, which was absolutely delicious and the highlight of my visit. It came out about 10 minutes after ordering, which was perfect since I was starving, and I would definitely order it again. As I was finishing up, I did feel a bit rushed, as it seemed like the staff was trying to close up and I may have been in the way, which took away slightly from the experience. That said, I understand they're newly opened, and I'm willing to give them another chance. I'll likely return for the chicken and to see how things settle once they've had more time to find their rhythm.

Our server was AMAZING! I wish I would have gotten his name. He was younger with dark hair and dark eyes. He was extremely knowledgeable about the drinks and very accommodating with a few changes I wanted for my drink. He gave excellent recommendations after asking good questions. The booths were very cozy. The burger and Junebug were great. I did deduct one star because we ordered the Outer Banks which was supposed to come with citrus foam, which we were excited about. The drink came out without the couple inches of citrus foam (the drinks are small so if the details matter ) We were told the machine to create the foam was broken, but still charged full price for the drink when citrus was a main part of the drink. It would've been nice to know ahead of time before ordering the drink. Overall, it was a great experience.

    Burger and Boursin salad

I was really impressed with my visit to Social Oak. The space is smaller than it looks in photos, but it's super well designed and still feels comfortable. We shared the fried deviled eggs, a burger, and a salad, and honestly I'd recommend all of them and would order them again. There weren't any vodka drinks on the cocktail menu, but our server suggested a great alternative that ended up being really good. Only thing to note is it's not really a place to hang out for a long time. We were in and out in about 45 minutes, which was totally fine for us, just depends on what kind of vibe you're going for.

Social Oak is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and comfortable--stylish without feeling stuffy, warm without being loud. It's the kind of place you can enjoy a relaxed dinner or celebrate something special and feel equally at home. The food is outstanding--thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Every dish feels intentional, fresh, and elevated without being overcomplicated. You can tell the kitchen takes real pride in what they're serving. What truly sets Social Oak apart, though, is the service. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly without hovering. The staff makes you feel welcomed and taken care of, which elevates the entire experience. Great food, excellent service, and a top-tier atmosphere--Social Oak is easily one of the best dining experiences in Eagle. We'll absolutely be back.

Wasn't a big fan of the drinks but I loved the decor. The tables were so close to each other it felt like I was in both our neighbors conversation so kind of awkward. It was a nice night out for a quick drink

    The chicken sandwich is amazing

Awesome atmosphere, food, drinks. The service was spectacular, especially Nicole who was super attentive. Highly recommend Social Oak!!!

Yelp hasn't failed me yet! The first thing was walking in the door there were two hostess who smiled and greeted me. We were seated at the bar since there were just two of us. I ordered the Crave burger with bacon and my guest ordered the house salad with tortilla soup. Everything was excellent! The burger was juicy, flavorful, the bacon was perfectly crispy, Smokey and the white cheddar cheese was the perfect compliment! Now let's talk about the bun, I typically don't eat burger buns but this one was the exception to the rule. It was homemade obviously, buttery, light, and toasted to perfection. I ate both of them! Hahahaha! I felt so dirty typing that the French fries were crispy, just the right amount of salty and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. My guest agrees with everything in this review. The house salad was fresh, the vinaigrette was homemade and delicious and the tortilla soup was even great! The ambience was a place you could have a business meeting or take your significant other on a date night. There is literally something for everyone on their crave-able menu ( see what I did there?) Our server who was the bartender kept our glasses full and made sure he checked on us often. I found my new burger spot in Eagle, Idaho?!?! Five stars.

We tried a mix of meats, and there was plenty to like. The pulled pork stood out as the best of the bunch--tender, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for from good BBQ. The spicy BBQ sauce was a highlight too: it's got a real kick--hot in a fun, nostalgic way, like a high school pool party where things get a little wild but in the best sense. The tri-tip was decent, though it leaned a bit young and could've benefited from a touch more time or seasoning to really shine. The chicken was cooked nicely--juicy and not overdone--but felt like it needed a little extra smoky pizzazz to stand out. On the plus side, the buns were excellent across the board, soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together without falling apart. Service was top-notch--friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Overall, a really pleasant lunch spot with some strong offerings and a great atmosphere. I'd say it would absolutely earn a nod of approval from my  St. Louis BBQ grandpa and his crew from Wells-Goodfellow--satisfying, honest barbecue with a few standout bites and a good time to go with it.

And every single time I fail because somehow the combination of their soft toasted bun, smoky tri-tip, salsa, and just the right amount of messiness makes you question why other sandwich places even exist. Hayley, the owner, is often behind the counter and genuinely knows the names and faces of regulars because there are THAT many repeat customers. They're also one of the best places around for holiday meats. Pro tip: order early for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Another great tip I got from one of their butchers was to pick your order up two days before you need it instead of fighting the crowds the day before. They've already allocated your order, so it's the exact same quality -- but way less stress and waiting. And honestly? Their holiday sides deserve their own review. When the red skin mashed potatoes come out for the holidays, I genuinely wonder why anyone makes mashed potatoes from scratch anymore. And the gravy? Dangerous. The two servers behind the counter are completely discombobulated. And, one of the employees just touched the inside of my sanitized to-go container with their bare hands after being out on the floor, touching dirty dishes, handling the dirty cash register, touching other surfaces. and everything else. The other server seems to be completely lost and staring off of the distance wiping counters while there's orders pending. My order. She really doesn't seem to be able to focus very well and know what to do. For example, there are plates of food sitting on the prep table, ready to go out and she walks over and looks at my ticket and then just stands there and wipes the counter. My to go order would literally take probably 30 seconds to put it into a container, weigh, and hand it to me, but she just won't do it. And, the other patron's food is getting cold. It seems like the guy that's on duty is the brains of the operation and he's doing all the work. I get out to my truck and the burnt ends feel really light in contrast to my brisket order. I ordered a half a pound of burnt ends, and 1/3 of a pound of brisket. Something isn't right. I take the burnt ends back in and show the guy that was at the register when I came in, he agreed something went wrong. It looked like a third of a pound, but I would argue that it wasn't even a third. By the way, this was prepared by the girl working that was daydreaming. He then made it right and handed back my tray, which I was grateful. He was apologetic and he took care of it well. Just to be clear, he did not give me more than half a pound but he made it right. And then went to go pick up a plastic fork, that's usually over in a cup on the counter, but there were none. So I had to get their attention quickly and ask for a fork and they pulled one up from behind the counter, after I was told they were over by the beverage machine. They both seem surprised that there were none up there ready to go. The food as usual was delicious. This is the sad part. The service is all over the map and completely in need of some serious management and restructure. I realize that it's very difficult to get good help these days, but this is a training issue. I can't go back in now knowing that the last 3 to 5 times I've gone in there. I've always had a problem with service. If the food was piping hot when it arrived, I might not be so bothered, but this lack of efficiency causes the food to be delivered cold. That's not my definition of a good experience. If you have a lot of time on your hands, and you don't mind waiting, and you don't mind your food warm instead of hot, then I would say venture out and try this place because the flavor and textures are good. Just set your expectations accordingly. The atmosphere is comfortable and rustic. A little loud because of the openness, no booths, just tables and chairs with 1/2 booth. Lots of self service going on here so be careful before you tip at the register. By the way, I chose not to tip at the time of payment when I walked in because I don't like tipping in advance of receiving the service. The purpose of the gratuity is to compensate your server based on the service they delivered, not will deliver or should deliver. Or in this case didn't deliver. I realize that not tipping on the front end gives the employees a chance to retaliate with poor service because you didn't tip. Oh how the times have changed.

We asked the gal behind the bar if we can there. She simply said yes and walked off. Another gentleman dropped off menus and didn't say much to us. Honestly, it wasn't the best start. I couldn't remember if they had flavored creamer here. Griffin said they didn't have any but he was kind and got me a side of vanilla syrup. He is the first server to give me an option and to do something simple like this. I knew we were in great hands with Griffin. Drinks were dropped off, orders were taken and we just chilled. Food was dropped off after a bit and man did everything look grand! My husband got the Rosie's French toast combo and I got the 2 eggs with bacon. My breakfast was great. The eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. I love that the English muffin as a little overly toasted but still soft in the middle. My husband's French toast was killer. It was a croissant that was made into French toast. It was also coated in cinnamon and powdered sugar. It was soooooo good! I had a couple bites and it was hard not to ask for more. Griffin was the highlight of our brunch. He made sure my coffee cup was filled. He checked up on us and just was kind from beginning to end. He ended our visit with asking us if we wanted any drinks to go. If I wasn't on a fluid restriction I probably would have gotten something. I have never had a server at any of these locations ask me that before. This visit was great and I can't wait to come back. And if you do come at eat here, make sure you have Griffin take care of you.
