Birthday boy at Rib Shack

What a wonderful experience we had at this delicious barbecue restaurant! We went here to celebrate a birthday and were treated like royalty! Our server Coda was helpful and friendly and the owner was out and about and a great guy who loves making barbecue! The choices of barbecue sauce are yummy and varied. My favorite was the East sauce and cherry bourbon in the Mac and cheese. Highly recommend!

Welcome to your new favorite BBQ spot in Eagle! Fast & friendly service offering a menu packed full of great choices to include all the smoked meats you would hope for, but they also have burgers, tacos, salads, beers, & a long list of sides for everyone to find a new favorite! If the menu isn't enough, the BBQ sauce bar is a must see & sample! With over 10+ choices to choose from, you just may find one that will keep you coming back again & again. Plenty of room inside the colorful dining room or outside on the cozy patio.. this place would great for large parties or families to enjoy comfortably.. great place with great food! Happy yelpin yall!!

I think this is one of the best bbq places in the treasure valley, if not the best. They have changed their menu a few times over the last decade but their meats stay solid. The ambiance of this place screams bbq from the minute you walk in. Decor is great and the smells are just as inviting. Its always pretty clean and tidy. Their service is stellar, and speed is determined on how long the line is but you get your food in a reasonalble time. Their brisket and brisket burnt ends always hit the spot! They have good smoke rings and they season it texas style with some personal pit touches flare that I enjoy! Their ribs are fall off the bone full of flavor and sauces to pair with are always fun. Their sides are good; however, this place knows potato! Their fresh cut fries, smashed potatoes etc...are are a must while here. Its like they are in Idaho or something?! ;) If you get a chance to check it out, give it a shot!

This place is by far the best BBQ we've had since living in Idaho. The place is so cool and cozy! Everyone who works there was sweet as can be!! I had brisket & chicken thighs with broccoli salad and coleslaw. Husband had burnt ends & chicken thighs with baked beans & broccoli salad. Everything was DELICIOUS and we absolutely can't wait to come back!

Pretty good barbecue! Love the selection of meat and lots of sides. The nachos are a must! Our food came out fast and staff were very nice. They had live music and there's lots of seating, good place for groups. I can't disagree with the claims of the meat being dry, BUT they do have lots of sauces at the table so you can drench to your liking.

Baby backs and fries.

Wanted to try a rib place while in the area. A friend told me this was the best. Had the half rack of baby back ribs with a side of fries. I liked the Texas BBQ sauce best. The ribs weren't what I consider fall off the bone which is fantastic. Fall off the bone suggest too overcooked. They were really good but not as juicy as St. Louis ribs. The fries were super good. The service was good also. If they had juicer ribs it would be a 5 IMO.

Brisket, pulled pork, smashed potatoes, baked beans and coleslaw.

The food is absolutely outstanding. Tender and favorable. The ambiance was just OK but the quality of the food makes up for it.

Did it change ownership ? Some of the items we used to order are no longer on menu and other sides taste different.

It seems that since they are becoming more popular they have to accommodate it. So the quality of the food has gone down. It was better with the smaller limited menu.

I've had takeout from here on many occasions and it's always good. Chose the pulled pork sandwich, Carolina style, which was delicious. Soft, good roll. Fresh coleslaw, and lots of pork. Great overall sandwich. My side of choice was the sweet potato fries. Decent portion and yummy, fried well, fries. Would repeat. Just next time with a beer :-)

We tried a mix of meats, and there was plenty to like. The pulled pork stood out as the best of the bunch--tender, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for from good BBQ. The spicy BBQ sauce was a highlight too: it's got a real kick--hot in a fun, nostalgic way, like a high school pool party where things get a little wild but in the best sense. The tri-tip was decent, though it leaned a bit young and could've benefited from a touch more time or seasoning to really shine. The chicken was cooked nicely--juicy and not overdone--but felt like it needed a little extra smoky pizzazz to stand out. On the plus side, the buns were excellent across the board, soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together without falling apart. Service was top-notch--friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Overall, a really pleasant lunch spot with some strong offerings and a great atmosphere. I'd say it would absolutely earn a nod of approval from my  St. Louis BBQ grandpa and his crew from Wells-Goodfellow--satisfying, honest barbecue with a few standout bites and a good time to go with it.

Every single time I order it, I tell myself, "Okay, I'll just eat half." And every single time I fail because somehow the combination of their soft toasted bun, smoky tri-tip, salsa, and just the right amount of messiness makes you question why other sandwich places even exist. What really makes this place special though is that it still feels like an actual neighborhood butcher/deli. Hayley, the owner, is often behind the counter and genuinely knows the names and faces of regulars because there are THAT many repeat customers. They're also one of the best places around for holiday meats. Pro tip: order early for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Another great tip I got from one of their butchers was to pick your order up two days before you need it instead of fighting the crowds the day before. They've already allocated your order, so it's the exact same quality -- but way less stress and waiting. And honestly? Their holiday sides deserve their own review. When the red skin mashed potatoes come out for the holidays, I genuinely wonder why anyone makes mashed potatoes from scratch anymore. And the gravy? Dangerous. I literally order extra every year and freeze it in portions because it's too good to only eat once during the holidays.
