You did it! You just found a hidden gem! Tasso lives up to the hype & beyond.. Hours are limited but the options & amazing food is not! Don't blink as you drive by because it is tucked under some large trees that provide a beautiful outdoor seating area outside the cottage themed storefront. Inside smells like.. cheese, but had plenty of seating & room to enjoy one(or two lol) of the best & uniquely crafted artisan sandwiches in town. Whether you're looking for a massive sandwich stacked high with a savory combination of meats, cheese, & all the fixins, the ironically named Tasso Junior is for you Or, for a much lighter side, they have salads & plenty of interesting sides to choose from.. shout out to the smoked salmon potato salad! Or, customize your own! The lady that works here is so friendly & helpful. Go give it a try & hey.. you just might find your new favorite lunch spot! Happy Yelpin Y'all!

The Devil Sandwich, deeelicious!

Great little sandwich shop! We look forward to coming back when we visit the area so we can stop in for lunch. The fresh meats on our sandwiches were flavorful and moist, we love the fact that they smoked their own meat on site. We also had a great conversation with Maria, who waited on us, made our sandwiches and visited with us to get to know us a little better. Friendly, fresh and a definite try when on State St!

Food was great, fresh toasted bread was amazing, smoked meats were perfect and the service was super. We sat outside under the trees in the shade and enjoyed the entire experience only to be topped by the very tasty snickerdoodle cookie. They have indoor seating as well. Highly recommend it for a quick lunch sandwich.

Damn. This woman is an artist. I had The Devil, Super super good. She clearly puts her heart and soul into the whole operation. I dont write reviews ever but i felt compelled this time.

Love, LOve, LOVE Tasso!!! Our favorite restaurant in Eagle! All of their sandwiches are on fresh baked bread and their salads are to die for! The service is amazing and it's a small thing but shows the heart of the restaurant... they charge $.40 for a bottled water. If you haven't tried Tasso, you need to!

The Turkey Melt sandwich is amazing. I'm not even sure what all went into the sandwich, but there was a lot going on in there, and it was all delicious. Great friendly vibe here too. We'll be back!

Inside seating

Tasso continues to create among the best (I'll argue for THE best) unique, handcrafted sandwiches anywhere and yesterday I discovered that owners (chef Dan and his wife Hannah) have added seating at tables and chairs to the inside like the outside seating of same. I don't know when that happened because the dearth of inside seating before (a few high stools at a counter and one small table) that didn't work for me means I have been sending hubby in to pick up and bring home. But on a chilly day yesterday when I joined him for the take-away sandwich run it was delightful to find the new seating set up to stay warm inside and enjoy our meal there in the light, bright space where pride of ownership shines. (Loved the eclectic mix of tunes on the sound system too and low volume of same to not compete with conversation.) Tasso is no longer using 3rd party delivery services so it means you'll have a chance to enjoy the music even if you're just popping in for your take away order. You can call in your order and probably place it online too but I noticed yesterday that the menu board in house and the one online are a little out of synch for options and prices. ALWAYS EXCELLENT: From the first sandwich we ate at Tasso, at their original BODO location, and for all the sandwiches since their move to the more convenient for us Eagle location, we say what we did with that first one. That is this: "We may have had sandwiches as good as Tasso's but we can't remember having any better - anywhere or ever. If you think sandwich is art form, try Tasso." Good news - they do catering too. ANOTHER REASON TO UPDATE THIS REVIEW: To mention there is now a brewery, Gem State, across the street from Tasso and that brewery doesn't have a kitchen to create food but will allow customers to bring in food. The perfect sandwich to go with your Gem State beer is an easy commute across the street at Tasso! ACCESSIBILITY: Tasso's entry is level in from the sidewalk and all on one floor with ample space at the order counter. There is a loo on site but I didn't check it for ADA standards. Accessible parking is extremely poor throughout Eagle and the nearest spots to Tasso are all the way down by the Senior Center. That failure is City of Eagle's not Tasso's. PARKING: On street or lot in back and side of building. THEIR "FOOD LANE": For food quality and hospitality as we hold Tasso in the same high regard as excellent husband / wife / family owned with a chef driven kitchen creating excellent food and customer centered hospitality with integrity in business practices. Those include Boise restaurants like Madre Boutique Taqueria, Ansot's Basque, Alyonka Russian, the Rex family eateries of The Wylder and Certified Kitchen & Bakery, Janjou Patisserie, Sunshine Spice Bakery Cafe, Neighbor Tim's BBQ, Amano in Caldwell and in Eagle Bacquet's French Cusine and Bodacious Pig BBQ. All different kinds of food and service formats and yet all the same in focusing on excellence by owners of the business. Tasso drives in that lane too. HOURS: Closed Mon. Tue - Thu / 11a - 4p. Fri - Sun / 11a 6p.

Every single time I order it, I tell myself, "Okay, I'll just eat half." And every single time I fail because somehow the combination of their soft toasted bun, smoky tri-tip, salsa, and just the right amount of messiness makes you question why other sandwich places even exist. What really makes this place special though is that it still feels like an actual neighborhood butcher/deli. Hayley, the owner, is often behind the counter and genuinely knows the names and faces of regulars because there are THAT many repeat customers. They're also one of the best places around for holiday meats. Pro tip: order early for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Another great tip I got from one of their butchers was to pick your order up two days before you need it instead of fighting the crowds the day before. They've already allocated your order, so it's the exact same quality -- but way less stress and waiting. And honestly? Their holiday sides deserve their own review. When the red skin mashed potatoes come out for the holidays, I genuinely wonder why anyone makes mashed potatoes from scratch anymore. And the gravy? Dangerous. I literally order extra every year and freeze it in portions because it's too good to only eat once during the holidays.

Fish selection is very good too but depends on seasonal. Ham hocks for your crockpot split pea soups. We make that and others. Sandwich selection made fresh to your taste. Local bread sold on shelf just as you enter. Christmas time they offer a seasoned prime rib. Pick the size. Quite a few sold each year. It's the best we've ever had. If your coming here for the first time do not miss the schnitzel meals! It's a good hearty meal to fill a hungry belly! The pork is flattened thin, cooked perfectly and the breading flavorful and crispy. The fries thicker cut, skin on and nicely salted, yum! I had the Donor Kebab this time because I hadn't tried it yet and I have been missing out. It was really good! The mixed meat was on point and cooked just right. The veggie combinations were different then what I'm used to with kebabs but it worked really well. They had red cabbage, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, and pepperoncinis. The pita was wrapped in a thin, yet thick enough wrap to hold it all together and it was a perfect compliment to this Kebab! You can also never go wrong with any sausages, bratwurst or bologna. I like that they don't have a huge menu because everything you get is quality ingredients made with care. Did I mention beer? They have a multitude of glasses and form factors to pour into. The owners and employees have been consistently very kind and helpful with any questions I have about the market or restaurant since the beginning. Speaking of the market, they have always had great and fair prices with their imported items and its one of the only places in town that has quality European dark chocolates. Definitely do not miss this stop if you like good beer and excellent food!

A person came from another part of the building after about 5 mins... I assume that is where the sandwhiches are made. Orders were placed. I had the Brisket special sandwhich and asked for it plain... ie, brisket and bun. I was second in line and there was another person behind me and then another came in. I waited for about 15 mins. I noticed the cashier disappeared again to get someones food. Then he was chatting with some guests for a bit. Finally, he disappeared again and arrived with two orders, but it was the two people AFTER me. Another 5 minutes later I got my brisket sandwhich. Also a few other people came in after me and the same process seemed to repeat over and over... ie come in to an empty cashier, wait around in confusion. Several people mentioned it was their first time that day so maybe having a sign or having some sort of system to notify when an order is ready. It looks like the slice of brisket I got was the outside and about 6-7"s long and it was really hard, stringy and tough to chew. It would have been nice if it was chopped finely and if I could have gotten something a bit more tender. It was warmed up though. You would think this would take 30 seconds to make this sandwhich, I should have to wait 15-20 mins. The flavor was ok, but I only ate about half and ended up having to get rid of the other half due to it just being too chewy and one long piece. Parking lot was fairly full, but nice that there was parking there. The vibe was a bit weird overall as well. I don't think I will be back. I am sure they have better sandwhiches, but I just didn't really enjoy the experience and the price was above $15.

So, it's hard for me to say no when my husband wants to come here. We stopped in today for a late lunch. My husband ordered his normal. I decided to be different and ordered the black and blue brat. The picture they have on the brat in their menu looked so good so I had to get it. We grabbed a table and hung out till our food was ready. The food came out nice and hot. My husband's sandwich looked killer like always. Mine...... I wish I could have said the same. My brat came on a sandwich bun. It still looked good but I knew it was going to be a lot of breading to my brat. The brat as savory and peppery. It was good and had a good snap to it. It was a little hard to enjoy the brat since they drowned my bun with the ground mustard. It was really overwhelming. And for 2 bucks you can add sauerkraut. Don't bother adding it cause you barely get any. My husband's sandwich was good. The filet was tender and the cheese was nice and melty. Overall, it was an ok meal.
