I didn't check the reviews before heading in for lunch today. The brand has a good reputation, but this experience was a bit all over the place. There's so much to choose from, which is great, but it might be a bit much for first-time visitors. It was quiet today, and the staff was very nice and helpful. We both ordered the soup and sandwich combo. The seating is a bit cold and not the most comfortable place to relax, but it's okay. My first big "yuck" was the beverage area. It was filthy! There was sticky liquid all over the counter and the floor! The floor was disgusting, not only with sticky soda but also crumbs under every table. By the time I sat down, I was sure it was my last visit here. The buzzer went off, and I walked up to get our food only to be told it wasn't ready! (What?) Anyway, I got it, and it looked really good! I had some hot Italian sandwich and tomato soup. It was amazing! I also got a small piece of a baguette that was wonderful! My wife had broccoli and cheese soup and said it was wonderful as well. She also had a one off custom sandwich that she loved. I hope they take a bit more pride in their store and clean it up as we really did enjoy there food. So many new places coming to town this kind of experience can hurt. Constipated. That's the word that kept popping into my head for this new Panera. Starting with the location for awkward access off of State Street to Edgewood before making an immediate right turn onto a narrow access way into the parking lot. The description also applies to the to tight and awkwardly built parking lot. And for Pete's sake, city planning review people, there is a Chik-Fil-A now under construction in this same place that will be using the same access way and parking lot. (And eventually fast casual pizza franchise, Slice House.) You must be kidding. No wonder this was such a controversial project as it was wending it's way through approval processes. But that's not Panera's fault so let's get to what seemed constipated, or at least not smooth moving, at the store. I detoured here on the way home from a morning haircut to pick up a cup of hot chocolate, I had been getting Panera emails in the way of "insider special" and also a pastry, both to go, as I had also received snail mailed discount coupons to my house. I live in this city and they have been trying to make locals aware of the new store. Although the inside was not crowded, after waiting a good while to try to place an order, I left because I had an appointment at home that I didn't want to be late for. The reason I couldn't place an order was that it was unclear to me if I was supposed to use one of 3 kiosks at the front or if I could order at the counter (my preference) and there was no way to ask the single person working the counter "how do I?" Also the sign at front said if you are having a beverage to get your cup first. OK then, where? Also, the item in the case I thought I wanted to order had no label on it so I wasn't sure, if I used the kiosk, what it was I was ordering, and no one to ask about that either. So I decided to do this the old fashioned way and wait to order the counter. But I could not do that because there was only one person working at the counter and she was behind the register trying her best to help the customer who also wanted to order and who was asking questions. This poor (obviously new) employee was out of her depth for what to do. Not her fault, where was the manager to help her? But just as the employee had a "eureka" moment on how to get the order placed, the customer presented her discount coupon that she received via snail mail and the employee once again was thrown for a loop, said that coupon was for orders placed via XYZ method and now she would have to try to find someone who could help her figure out how to apply the discount. That is when I turned around and exited. They need to work on this. The service snafus are all fixable by management. And the space itself is not welcoming, warts and all, most Panera's are that, and it seems to me it would be from difficult to impossible for a person using a wheelchair to find clear path of travel to a table to sit at. Panera, you can do and have done better for mere ADA compliance. This is the closest location to my home but I won't go back. Meridian or Boise are better options. read more

Pre orders that are ready for pickup get stuck sometimes for 15+ minutes knowing their food is just sitting there and drinks are melting. The speed of service here doesn't exist. I've also had to come back several times to correct my order everything from filling the soup correctly to a simple Pepsi order being turned into diet multiple times a day. Every customer service job I've ever worked required speed of service and somewhat timely manner. Even when it's just us in the drive thru getting a fountain drink shouldn't take 6-10 mins. And some people really can't have the fake sugar in diet sodas it makes us sick. Our body isn't meant to process fake sugar and does cause us issues so accuracy is important as well as attitude. Not sure what all the diets are about they're not that busy and we have been nothing but nice to them. I pay for a sip club subscription as well which is every 2 hours not once a day so probably update the staff on regular promos and their own menu read more

I got the new steak bowl and it was nasty the broccoli was so gross I was gagging pretty sure it was bad so I took it out and then I was excited for the sweat potato they are my favorite and it was nasty and the steak was microwaved lady working was sweet but the food was so bad I won't ever be thinking about going there again. read more

We are so happy to have Panera here in Eagle! We are also thrilled to see how diligent they are about cross-contamination with food, allergies! The staff is friendly, kind, and professional. The restaurant is extremely clean and constantly wiping down tables. With only one other family in the restaurant, it took longer than expected to get our food; it took over 20 minutes to get two soup bowls. Hopefully this will speed up the process. Just Okay-I have been several times and staff was not very professional. It was a very slow evening and my to go order was missing bread and dressing-very frustrating. Started out great for a few weeks. my husband would regularly pick up dinner for us. It would have been 5* then. Bit now, we won't waste our time. We've been to this particular Panera 4 times now. The first experience was great - clean place, friendly staff and they had everything readily available. Since then, it's gone down hill and rapidly at that. The last 3 times we've been here, they are out of so many items. You want broccoli /cheddar soup in a bread bowl, forget it, no bread bowls and also no soup. Actually learned no bread bowls for any soup at any time ....and limited soup at that. This last time we went there - same thing and the place was a mess. Sticky floors, food under several of the tables and garbage overflowing. You still went there??? We did, sadly. But while there in a span of 45mins two complaints came in - one person returned their salad and another who appeared to have gone thru the drive thru came in and complained about their food! Just ate here last week! Our sandwich was hot and fresh. The people working there were kind and I loved the green goddess salad they had!

The breakfast sandwiches were just ok, and too expensive for value received. The cinammon rolls weren't any better than the refrigerator version from the grocery store. They might have been better if they had been freshly made but these had to have been baked the day before. My order was not ready on time even though the store wasn't busy at all. Got coupons in the mail for the new Panera Bread in Eagle. Girl taking our order very friendly, but very unsure of what she was doing. Our total was more than we thought it should be from working it out on the app. She didn't read it back to us or give us a receipt. I figured it out later. I had asked for a half salad; when it came it had to be a full salad. Sweets were supposed to be half off, but we had to have been charged full price. No senior discount, but manager gave us a cookie to compensate. Dining room not a very pleasant place to eat. Tables too close together for privacy. More than half their seating was high top tables. Regular height tables were very close to each other. Panera on Eagle Road at Ustick has a more relaxing dining room. They ALWAYS read back your order and give you a receipt. Probably will drive a little further in the future to go there. It's a shame they didn't allow for more dining space in the new location. read more
