I'll preface this review by saying it is based on one Uber Eats order. I usually try to visit a restaurant a couple of times in person to get a better perspective on food and service. I had a beer and bacon burger, fries, and a side order of cheese curds. It arrived quickly and was hot. However, everything was extremely salty and soggy with oil. The burger seemed decent, as far as it was thick, it had a nice gourmet bun, and the toppings were tasty. But it was hard to taste the good part through the overpowering salt and grease. The cheese curds looked yummy, but weren't anything special. Again, lots of salt and grease. And that's too bad, because cheese curds done right are delicious. My meal was $34 on Uber Eats (BEFORE tip) which was also undesirable for a greasy burger and fries and a smallish side order of cheese curds. Overall, I can see where this restaurant is trying to go with offering upscale burgers. It just fell flat in execution. read more

My significant other and I chose this spot for a late lunch. It was nice and quiet which was great, we like our mid week quiet meals. So for starters we ordered the beef jerky (decent) And an order of chicken wings with "bbq rub" The wings were beyond dried out, and the rub was literally a ton of chili powder. I ordered the fish and chips, which was alright. Not that great but not bad either. Their fries also were chili powder seasoned. He got the smoked bacon cheeseburger. Not bad, but not spectacular. Over all.. won't go back, not worth the price for ok food. But we're always happy to try new spots. read more

I really wanted to like this place but my BBQ wings were so so dry. It seemed like I got the dry rub too and not BBQ because I couldn't even tell there was any sauce on them. Got takeout for date night! Beer & bacon burger was just okay (the bacon jam stuff was really sweet and took it a weird direction). The tacos were kinda dry, and sauce for the white dog fries had a weird mashed potato consistency. That said, the fry sauce and jalapeño popper egg rolls were SOOOO good. Smoke & Thyme could only be found by entering the White Dog Brewing Co. Despite only a few people in the bar it took way too long for a cob salad and a Turkey, bacon and Swiss sandwich. The food was just OK. The croutons were not crispy and weird for a crouton and the seasoning on the fries was excessively salty. They were uneditable without ketchup. If you just want food and your not into beer I would not recommend this place. read more

We stopped in Boise on our way to telluride and stopped in at the white dog brewing for a beer and a bite to eat. The beer was very good however the meal we got was very disappointing. We had the finger steak an Idaho original with a side salad of the 3 finger steaks only one was edible. The salad was typical spring mix with a few grilled tomatoes which tacked on an extra $2 to the meal. Unfortunately the wait staff hardly acknowledged the fact the meal was bad let alone offered to take it off the bill or offer a different option. I am not knocking white dog too much because it is not their food but since they are serving it I would have hoped they would take some responsibility. Situated in a beer hall- the White Dog- a lovely kitchen! We (2) split a Cobb with chicken salad and fish ( pollock) and chips. SUPER good and fast, and an absolute tonne of food ( and we are "good eaters").Our server "pre split" our orders and the presentation was very, very nice. I had a few days to spend in Boise, and this restaurant was very close to my hotel. I had the Elk & Kobe burger and the chopped cod salad with chicken. Both were excellent, and the presentation of the burger was exquisite. Very friendly staff, tables moved apart for COVID, good music and many beers on tap available. We both got the pastrami sandwich but it wasn't really pastrami more like a beef. I wasn't really crazy about the meat but I loved everything else about it! Thick bread, pickled cabbage, bacon, pickles, cheese, Russian dressing, bourbon mustard. I could only eat half. The fries were cooked and seasoned just right. The fry sauce was really good. I'm still not sure if the sauce made the fries so good or vice versa! I'm going back to try something else. You definitely need to try it. read more

My roommate was really excited to try food from this place and we decided to order some of food from them, through delivery. First off our delivery driver got there and they didn't even have the food ready, which is not a big deal, I understand it's a busy day, so that wasn't an issue. The issue is that when the food got here, my food was burn to a crisp. I ordered the chicken grilled cheese sandwich and the bacon was black. The fries were completely inedible. Then his food was completely undercooked, burger and fries. I wouldn't mind waiting longer than 1hr if that meant good quality food. It was so disappointing, it ruined my day because we were looking forward to trying their food and supporting local business. Kinda forgot to take pictures of the food in the heat of the moment.
