It's been about a year since we have been to Deli George. The last time I was here I was really unimpressed with the apple gorgonzola salad. The apple slices were huge. There wasn't much in the lettuce department. For 14 bucks, there wasn't a lot of salad to it. My husband always gets the Boise Philly and they always do a good job. So, it's hard for me to say no when my husband wants to come here. We stopped in today for a late lunch. My husband ordered his normal. I decided to be different and ordered the black and blue brat. The picture they have on the brat in their menu looked so good so I had to get it. We grabbed a table and hung out till our food was ready. The food came out nice and hot. My husband's sandwich looked killer like always. Mine...... I wish I could have said the same. My brat came on a sandwich bun. It still looked good but I knew it was going to be a lot of breading to my brat. The brat as savory and peppery. It was good and had a good snap to it. It was a little hard to enjoy the brat since they drowned my bun with the ground mustard. It was really overwhelming. And for 2 bucks you can add sauerkraut. Don't bother adding it cause you barely get any. My husband's sandwich was good. The filet was tender and the cheese was nice and melty. Overall, it was an ok meal. I wish they would have told me about the bun being different. I would have ordered something else. I really want to like this place. They are local and I know the serve great did but I just haven't had that experience yet.

Boise! came here on a snowy mushy friday around 1 pm and it wasn't too crowded. I was greeted by the cashier and the cozy vibe made me feel right at home. country music played on the speakers and i enjoyed all the local decor on the walls celebrating baseball teams and high school sports. I asked the cashier what he recommended and he said i should try the philly cheesesteak. I said that sounded great and sat at one of the booths. the food came out nice and hot and the cheesesteak came on this sort of garlic roll. it had provolone cheese, lettuce, steak and mayo. It was a solid sandwich but i have had better. I sort of wish it was a little more moist? or that it had a sauce? but it was still tasty. maybe could have had the bacon chicken ranch sandwich as an alternative not mad at all 3.5/5

So as you walk up to this cute little sandwich shop there is a Smoker just outside and it smells great! I did not opt for the Smoked Brisket however it looks great! There are several menu choices and the decisions are tough. These prices are higher than chain shops, and I feel like the meat portion was a bit small for a $20 sandwich. The flavor and freshness however stood up! The bread is fresh and tasty and the pickle bar is a great addition. Round out your meal with some gourmet chip selections and yes the Ice Tea is real Fresh!

Great spot for a good tasting sandwich, I had the LAPD, which a pastrami with pickles and mustard on French roll. This is how LA does pastrami, the pastrami was tasty...I would've liked my sandwich to be a little more on the thicker side. LA pastrami sandwich are stacked and they're dipped in the au-jus. The Boise version wasn't bad at all. It's something I would have again. Service was great, and the music playing while I dined was jazzy and funky. Looking at the menu it appears there's a few more sandwiches I want to try. Next on my list is the Beef Dip. ***Flight Attendant approved***

Friendly service, enjoyed the local Amber ale. Also the pickle bar. The pastrami sandwich was just a little drier on the bread -- and a little scarcer on the pastrami-- than I figured for $13.

Another great sandwich! This time my husband and I split the Boise Cheese Steak - 5oz. filet mignon, provolone, grilled onions, mayo, and lettuce on a French roll. It was excellent! Steak was tender and juicy, bread was fresh and crispy and there was plenty of melted cheese. 5/5 once again.

Not a wonderful sandwich at all. It looked pretty when given to me, but it was just got awkward fast, like a blind date. She's a sandwich, you like sandwiches and your friends thought you should be a perfect match. Instead you like sandwiches, and she's a sandwich but you find out she's from the wrong side of the tracks and hangs out with an unsavory crowd. Bread that's too hard, ham thats undesirable and cheap mayo. It was a match that just wasn't meant to be and soon you find yourself embarrassed to be seen with her in public. Like my first marriage; she looked good on the surface but in the end I found her just too shallow and expensive to want to maintain the relationship.

Pilgrim's Pride. On stale slice whole grain bread. Very dry turkey, not a lot of cream cheese or cranberries.

Absolutely not worth it!! Googled delis near by and looked at the prices online and this place was within the budget. Go in and order a pilgrim's pride which online a half sandwich was $8.49 and a full for $14.49. I tried to order the half sandwich but then they charged me for a whole. Either way the sandwich is completely over priced and incredibly dry and flavorless. You could make this sandwich for less and it would taste better especially based on what you get. The total was $15.68 and then they wanted a 20%-35% tip!!! So they are saying this sandwich should cost you $22.00, and it does not come with chips and a drink. So not worth it. Would not recommend this establishment. Better off going to a chain deli like Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's. So disappointed and I feel like I wasted my hard earned money on this nasty tasting sandwich. Do not eat here!! Not worth it!

From the moment we walked in, you could tell this was a true family-run restaurant. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and our waitress was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and happy to share recommendations for places to check out around Boise. The food was so good that we completely forgot to take pictures before digging in, which honestly says everything. We started with the Caesar salad, which was solid, but the stars of the meal were the entrées. My husband ordered the shrimp Alfredo, and I had the Rosemary Chicken Formaggio. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and homemade. Somehow, it was even better the next day as leftovers. My husband's favorite part of the meal was actually the rosemary focaccia loaf they bring out with oil and vinegar. Simple, but absolutely delicious. If you're visiting Boise and looking for great Italian food, Luciano's is absolutely worth the stop. We'd happily come back the next time we're in town.

That is the description of what I ordered for their handmade fresh pasta rigatoni that I got. Let me just say that all these flavors that they put into one dish were absolutely amazing. I really did not think they needed to have the spinach and mushrooms. Because the lemon crema and the Gorgonzola cheese were absolute phenomenal the braze beef was just to die for. This is a very small restaurant and there's only so many tables to get. I was able to sit at the bar which Aisha was the bartender. He did an amazing job and really helped lead me to my order of ordering the rigatoni. I had a beer with dinner and I did not order dessert. If you need to go to the bathroom, there is a door that leads outside the restaurant to the bathroom the weight was a little bit long for it, and luckily a neighboring coworker was able to lead me to their bathroom. I highly recommend checking out this place just because of the handmade pasta, which was something of a unique taste because it was well worth the price

First time in Boise, Idaho, visiting for the Boise Half Marathon. I ended up dining at Alavita…read moretwice -- once to carbo-load the night before my race, and again the day after as a recovery dinner. Alavita is an upscale Italian restaurant, and I'd recommend making reservations, especially for dinner. My first visit was with a reservation for one, while my second was a walk-in where I managed to snag patio seating. On my first visit, I started with the House-Baked Focaccia, which came with truffle-honey butter. The focaccia was light, fresh, and served pre-sliced. The honey and butter combination was absolutely divine and paired wonderfully with the bread. It honestly made me wonder why more Italian restaurants don't serve something similar. For my entrée, I ordered the daily special, which I believe was a cheese tortellini with shrimp and corn in a lemon garlic sauce. It was flavorful, deceptively filling, and paired well with the focaccia. While it wasn't the best pasta I've ever had, it was a satisfying and enjoyable pre-race meal. On my second visit, I started with the fennel and arugula salad, which featured fennel-apple slaw, pistachios, rehydrated cherries, lemon, olive oil, and shaved Parmesan. I particularly enjoyed the cherries and pistachios, which added nice sweetness and crunch. Not mind-blowing, but certainly good. For my entrée, I had to try the Rigatoni: braised local beef, black garlic-truffle butter, roasted local mushrooms, spinach, pickled red onion, lemon crema, and Grana Padano. I ordered it because so many reviews mentioned it. I don't eat beef very often, so this was a bit of a treat for me. The braised beef was tender and flavorful. Interestingly, my opinion of the dish changed as I ate it. Initially, I had it around a 3.5/5, but by the end it had climbed to a 4.5/5. This might sound strange, but I found that when I slowed down, closed my eyes for a bite or two, and really focused on the flavors, the dish came together much better. The richness of the braised beef, the garlic-truffle butter, and the mushrooms became much more noticeable, and I found myself appreciating the combination more and more with each bite. For me, it was one of those dishes that rewards slowing down and savoring it. Overall, I highly recommend Alavita for Italian food in Boise. The service was friendly, the food was thoughtfully prepared, and both meals left me satisfied. The lemon garlic shrimp tortellini special made for excellent pre-race fuel, and the rigatoni was a memorable post-race meal. I went on to finish 10th overall in the Boise Half Marathon despite rainy conditions and the challenges of running at a higher elevation than I'm used to, so I was certainly grateful for the quality food beforehand. Hope to be back the next time I'm in the Boise area. Visited June 2026.

A reservation was made and we made our way in Saturday to celebrate. My husband and I were late arriving cause of work. But my family and friends got drinks and apps started. I wasn't expecting them to wait but I'm happy that they did! The drinks and apps kept them at bay till we arrived. The venue is stunning! I love the decor here. I have always been intrigued with European vintage decor and this restaurant is beautifully devoted decorated with this kind of esthetic. Such a romantic setting. The rich deep red wall. The ornate vintage frames. The plants. It's truly a beautiful set up. After my husband and I got settled in and drinks ordered, we got dinner placed. I got 2 orders of meatballs and my husband got the seafood pasta. While food was being worked on, everyone shared the bread and balsamic olive oil dip that was on the table. I heard the bread was good. I didn't get a chance to try it since it was communal. Our meals were slowly trickling out. My meatballs looked amazing! My husband's plate looked fabulous. You can see the shrimp, mussels, clams.... We all became quiet and started on our meals. My meatballs were huge! I have had meatballs at other restaurants and have been hungry still. The size of these babies let me know I was not going to have that issue. It was nicely covered in marinara. A hearty covering of parmesan. Everything about the meatballs were great! I have severe fomo so of course I had to try my husband's plate. I tried a couple of his penne. I was really thrown back at the heat of the sauce. I tried another bite and it was still spicy. The spice was something neither one of us were expecting. Before I say anything to our server, I did look over the menu to see if we missed anything in the description of the dish. No chili was listed. Nothing about it being garnished with chili flakes. From reading the menu, no spice was described in the dish. My husband has a real sensitive pallet so I asked the manager/owner why spice wasn't indicted in the menu. We wouldn't have ordered it if there was. The manager said they can remove the sauce and add new sauce that didn't have chili flakes in it. "It would make it less spicy." I was actually surprised he didn't suggest a new dish that didn't have heat in it. We were complaining about the heat and I honestly don't think replacing sauce that has spice in it with new sauce with spice will do anything.... but hey, we went with it. The second dish was made and dropped off. Unfortunately, the sauce was still spicy and my husband could barely eat it. He ate the seafood which was a few pieces of shrimp, clams, bay scallops, mussels and fish. This dish was drowned in this sauce so there was no way to eat the seafood with the sauce. This dish is 34 bucks and my husband could barely finish the seafood. Our server was kind and got me birthday dessert. The chocolate cake was killer good! It wasn't overly sweet. The frosting was rich in chocolate and the cake was super moist. I only took a couple bites and took the rest home. I was not going to leave this bad boy behind. We spent a little over 70 dollars on dinner to have my husband leave hungry. I came home and made him a second dinner. Nothing more disappointing than spending that much money just to come home and eat again. Money is tight for everyone so the fact that we chose to come here and spend our heard earned money to have my husband hungry just makes my heart sad. Overall, my meatballs and cake were good. Service was great. The venue is very pretty. But, having my husband eat a meal that was poorly described in the menu is just disappointing and having him leave husband is upsetting. I'm happy I got to try it out but I don't think we will be hitting up this joint again any time soon.

The fried caprese was delicately garnished with herbs, tomatoes and a balsamic glaze. The oysters looked like they were just brought from the ocean fresh. Presentation was on point. I had to pass on the oysters. I don't eat oysters but I also can't have it cause of the new kidney. But from what I heard, the oysters were fantastic. I started off with the fried caprese, so good! The bread crumbs on the outside were savory and crunchy. The mozzarella in the middle was creamy and slightly melted. With the tomatoes, herbs and glaze in each bite...... wow. The ultimate flavor combo! Sweet, salty, cheesey and crunchy. To only have was hard cause I could have polished all 4! The shrimp cocktail was perfectly halved. Sprinkles of capers and microgreens added some earthy tones to the plate. I appreciate that they were sliced in half. It was easier to eat. I was able to cover each slice with some cocktail sauce. There was a nice heat from the horseradish that wasn't overwhelming. Enough to tickle your nose but not make you blackout. The fresh bread did make an appearance while we were eating. Better late than not getting fresh bread at all! The bread was out of the oven warm. I took a nice piece and slapped some butter on it. Fresh bread and butter will always be the best combo. I love the saltiness from the seasonings on top. It was soft, warm and crusty. I could have came here for a huge chunk of warm bread and left happy. That bread was killer. Cameron was great and got my friend, Laura a piece of limoncello cake for her birthday. Laura saved me a chunk of that slice of heaven. I was outside on a phone call when they started working on it. Grateful my friend was kind and shared her cake with me. Woooooooooww. We were making jokes about saying it would be our birthday every week so we can come in for limoncello cake. It was the perfect dessert to end our meal. I'm so happy we got to come in tonight. Food was chef's kiss. Cameron did a marvelous job taking care of us girls. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. And I loved how diverse the crowd was. The vibe was truly one of a kind unique. I look forward to coming back with my husband and having a romantic dinner here. I got the fun, light hearted happy hour experience. My next visit will most definitely be a romantic dinner with my husband kind of visit. I can't wait!

Just needs a band with a crooner in the corner ;-) Service is always on point sitting at the bar, in a booth or at a table. Menu has a lot of choices and not just meat. I particularly enjoy the Wedge salad and seafood dishes. Love the open kitchen in the main dinning area. They have an excellent Happy Hour as well. Check them out!
