first visit today - better than the food vendors at the cherry festival by a long way! I had a club. Super basic, old skool nothing fancy but Yummo. And huge. Quality meat, not enough bacon but I say that about everything lol Friends got build your own sandwiches, said they were awesome, and the chicken salad salad. The sandwiches were foot long and And she got the half order on the salad. Which was plenty! OH! And he gave me a bit of the slow cooked beef - brisket maybe? He did it in house and it was awesome. A great surprise for lunch while returning from rafting the Payette River. The crew was super attentive and helpful, both in helping us navigate the menu and making sure we had everything we needed. The sandwiches we tried were amazing, fresh, and satisfying. One of our younger guests really enjoyed a very satisfying and grown-up grilled cheese, which we totally recommend. A friend in Emmett said they make a crazy good Reuben sandwich. She was not kidding! I know staff is hard to find so getting my sammich was a bit slow and a tad awkward but who cares? it was so worth the wait! I would happily pay extra for them to stack that pastrami a little higher but that's just a personal preference. So far the best Ruben I've had. Only downside is parking. Thankfully it was snowing the day I went and no one felt like being out in the weather so I was able to pull up right in front. Didn't even have to parallel park Yes, I can parallel park. We had lunch today at the Corner Deli. It might be THE BEST hot pastrami on rye of all time. We also got a bowl of potato salad. We thought we ordered the jalapeño potato salad. Well it turns out we got the regular. It was also outstanding. We ended up with a cup of the jalapeño potato salad to go. Wow need to drive over to Emmet again soon. The staff were all incredibly nice and the environment is very clean. All in all an enjoyable experience. read more

Just moved to Emmett a week ago and we've even to the corner deli twice and will definitely be coming here often. They use Boar's Head deli meat and everything We tried from sandwiches to salads have been AMAZING! BUT the roast beef dip sandwich was off the chart delicious! read more

The service was truly, awfully, BAD. We placed our orders and were told our drinks would be brought to our table. 15 minutes later, after watching the only employee traverse the floor a dozen times to do ONE thing at a time, I finally went back to the counter where we ordered and asked her to hand me our drinks. Done. Another 10 minutes after that we still didn't have our food. We were so hungry went back to the counter again and bought a bag of chips to tide us over until our food finally came out of the kitchen, a full 30 minutes after we ordered. Then... look at the picture of the napkins on our table... the employee left that crumpled mess for us. And, these are the kind of paper towels you'd find in a public bathroom. Nice, huh. Neither of our sandwiches had quality ingredients. The tomatoes were half green and the meats were very salty. We will not be coming here again. read more

The BEST hot pastrami and Swiss sandwich I've ever had--and I'm from the Northeast, where pastrami and corned beef rule! I also tried the beef barley soup, and it was delicious and definitely homemade. This place is a jewel! I was really impressed at how the owner/chef was obviously devoted to his trade, and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff just made great food taste even better! The ambiance is nice/simple/country, so this is a place where you can relax and know you're going to have a fabulous meal every time! read more

I have moved to lots of different places in my life, have met so many amazing people, and have eaten at so many eating establishments. However, when I moved to Emmett back in April, the Corner Deli became my favorite place to eat, and it does not even come close. The food is so amazing and delicious! My go-to is "Zakari's" customized Chicken Caesar salad. The food is unbelievable, but what made me come back is the amazing people who work there. Josh and Chelsea, are so kind and welcoming and have become great friends to me. They deserve all the success and attention, they work tirelessly every day and still welcome everyone with a warm greeting and kind conversation. Go check them out! The homemade creamy mushroom chicken soup was delicious! And I ordered a half turkey-havarti cheese sandwich and it was huge! They use high-quality Boar's Head meats and cheese which are great. This is a nice, clean deli with friendly employees. We enjoyed our lunch immensely! read more

'Quaint' would be the word the comes to mind when you step into this old-school corner deli. Then entire town of Emmett might qualify, actually, but this spot is a perfect example of what life in Rural Idaho is like. The storefront is pretty clear about what goes on inside with your typical advertising and some kitsch in the display. It sits on the corner of a busier intersection in town (there's a stoplight!) but behind the glass time moves slowly. On the day I visited, there were a number of folks enjoying a late-ish lunch, most of them from the surrounding area and likely retired. It reminded me of the summer, when I visited my grandparents and we'd go to the diner for coffee or lunch every day - a bunch of older folks just shooting the breeze. The decor is old-time small-town antique-farm stuff, pretty mellow. The space is large and open with a counter and the kitchen in the back. The people at the counter were nice and helpful, the food was super at a great price - it's hard to screw up a deli sammich when you use Boar's Head - and the bathrooms were nice and clean, well appointed with some character. I would guess, based on my limited exploits in emmett, that this is one of the better spots to have lunch, if you're not looking for pizza or fast food-style stuff. It didn't really seem to be the place for younger folks but there's no reason for that, really. It's not like there are a lot of other choices in Emmett, after all... read more

Great find! My husband and I were traveling with our toddler from McCall back to Boise and took a side trip down the Payette, through Emmett. Had a fantastic sandwich, homemade soup and yummy oatmeal cookies at The Corner Deli. This gem of restaurant was just what we were looking for and to quote my husband just now, "a perfect place for kids!" She has been playing nonstop with a teaset, pony and coloring pad in a cute little children's space created just for the little ones. This place is also a step back in time with unique collectibles and antiques, they have lots of local school and community spirit and tons of down home charm. If everyone in Emmett isn't eating lunch here, well, you should be. read more

I had lunch there with a friend and we both enjoyed it. When family came to town I told them about The Corner Deli and how good it was and sprang for lunch for four. I walked out embarrassed to have praised it so highly. We ordered three sandwiches and a child's meal. The child's meal was fine. The Cuban sandwich although toasted outside, the meat cheese interior was still cold. The Cuban should be hot and melty. He got a soft drink which is kept in a cooler case with no doors and therefore his soda was warm and he was not given a glass with ice. It was offered later after halfway through. Daughter and I order a turkey with avocado. The avocado was just a faint smear on the bread that couldn't even be tasted. We were looking forward to slices. She asked for no cilantro on hers, so they left it off both :-(. Just enough errors to dampen the enjoyment of what could and should have been an excellent lunch worth the price. Quite high priced for the quality. Ordered 2 roast beef sandwiches for lunch with one potato salad side, $21. Potato salad not good, odd, bad back taste, probably the potato sweet pickle combo. One sandwich was OK, not great, just OK. Sandwich #2 was pathetic. One entire half didn't have enough meat to cover with one thin slice layer and the other side didn't have 2 layers of thin slice covering all of it. Seriously, is that what restaurant owners are doing these days to keep in business? I would expect the prices to reflect what is being served. We should not allow our community to be ripped off by any of the businesses who expect our business. read more
