Passing through Boise we stopped for some lunch. We were able to order fast, but our food took about 25 minutes. It seemed they had a lot of online orders. The shop itself is tiny with a few tables. It was freezing cold in there, colder than outside which was about 60 degrees. The sandwiches though, they were great! I go the turkey bacon and loved the pickled onions on it. The bread was perfect. I also got the potato salad - very unique but equally as good. Lots of dill in it with smoked paprika on top. Others at my table loved their sandwiches as well. Woah. Woah. Woah. I live in Denver and I am in town for my brothers wedding- before driving up to Stanley Lake, we stopped in for sandwiches because the reviews were so good. It was crowded but the line moved so fast, and the people working, were efficient and so kind! I love that you can see them making the sandwiches- tells you the food is going to be great. My sister and I had the tuna, and it was maybe the best tuna sandwich I have ever had. The bread, the ingredients- chefs kiss! My nieces had the pulled pork which they said was the best they ever had. My dad ordered the Italian- he usually never orders a sandwich like that and he RAVED about it. Lastly, the huckleberry lemonade - I can't say enough. These people are doing everything right. I loved the cute interior and ambiance. This was our lunch spot on our road trip west. I'm adding my great review to the ones already posted. When we entered we were greeted and given instructions on ordering and such. It was super busy and we found the last two stools near the bar which was fun because we got to watch them make the sandwiches. We chose the Italian sandwich and split it. Good choice as it was a rather large portion. So many fresh ingredients and outstanding crusty bread. They warm up the bread and use a blow torch to melt the cheese. The method creates a toasty, warm sandwich but also gives the edges a nice crisp. So good. The meal comes with chip (bag of Lays). Would have loved to have kettle chips as an option. Everything was so good. Staff was super busy but were getting in-house and take-out orders done quickly. Loved the hand painted mural of leaves in the restaurant. So glad we made the detour off the freeway to have lunch here. read more

My husband and I stopped in today for lunch and loved both of our sandwiches (he got the Italian deli and I got the turkey & bacon). Both had plenty of delicious meat and a yummy herb and garlic aioli. By far my favorite part, however, was the ciabatta--soooo good! I chose the potato salad as my side and while it had a good dill flavor, I think I may have gotten a salty batch today. Worth a try though as multiple reviews state it's the best potato salad they've ever had. You must come here. Not many Yelp reviews live up to their stars. This one exceeded it. Walked in and Charly greeted us right away. Pleasant and kind. Asked if we had been in before. Then proceeded to offer us ideas of sandwiches to choose from, going into detail describing the sandwich. Went with the turkey. Lots of meat, pickled onions, honey mustard, pepperonci and more. The best part is the bread. Fantastic! We told them we were going to split one sandwich and they did it for us in the kitchen and gave us both ample amount of chips. Very clean restaurant! Very clean bathrooms! Stopped by Boise State after eating here and told a few employees right away about this place. Very friendly and accommodating staff, cute interior, fresh tasting food. I was pleasantly surprised half the sandwich held up in the fridge for the next day. They were great at explaining the menu, and substitutes. My only issue was that I asked for mustard instead of spread to save some fat and calories, and when I asked what mustard they had, they told me Dijon. I assumed that meant normal Dijon mustard. Instead I got a creamy Dijon spread, that I ended up blotting a ton of. It tasted great and I didn't necessarily tell them I was asking first mustard for macros-related purposes, but I would've liked to know it was just a different thick spread. The bread for sandwiches was perfect as was their side salad with dressing. The chicken banh mi was not what I expected though. Definitely not Vietnamese flavor or how they season the meat in authentic servings (maybe because it's not what it should be - pork?) as the chicken had no flavor or that Smokey touch. My wife & I decided we were going to split since we've never been here before and honestly, we haven't had great luck with food since moving to the treasure valley. We ordered the Vietnamese sandwich (I'm not going to pretend like I know how to spell it) with potato salad. We went back to the car to eat it before we had to pick up my daughter from BSU. That sandwich was great!! It was so good, we knew we better go back inside and order a sandwich for my daughter. I ended up getting her the pork sandwich. Nestled right in between the barber shop and Zen Bentos you can't blink without walking past the door...but you would be wise to tape those eyelids open and get into THIS Sami shop. That bread with all its light luscious air pockets to capture all the balsamic glaze goodness atop those cured Italian cold cuts. It's something special they got here folks. The atmosphere is spot on, very welcoming as well. It's cozy but perfect for what it is and needs to be. I asked about how well the sandwiches "travelled" and I was steered towards a few that would hold up as takeout. I got the pork sandwich with mixed greens. The pickled onions on the mixed greens were a nice touch and the lettuce was fresh. The sandwich bread was a crusty/artisan bread type and the sandwich with all the fixings (lettuce, jalapeños, dressing) really complemented the pork. Amazing! My husband just said this is the best potato salad he has ever had in his life and no he won't share with me! The place is very small, more of a grab and go type meal. When I got the sandwich I was worried it was the tear up the roof of your mouth bread... I bit into a pillow with a crisp outside! I got the Caribbean and my husband the turkey bacon.
