Fantastic selection of food and it doesn't make me sick with all of my dietary issues.

We went to the Soup Kettle Grille initially because it was close to our hotel. We were amazed at their selection of sandwiches, from breakfast sandwiches to wraps to croissants. They have an extensive menu of teas (including milk teas) and coffees. They also have allergens listed on their menus - it shows if something is dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegetarian. Being gluten- and dairy-free, this made my selections very easy. We were so impressed, we went their three times during a five day visit. In the morning they make baked goods on premise. They had three or four dairy and gluten free options. I particularly liked the banana nut bread and also got their chocolate-chip banana bread. I ordered an egg salad on a gluten free wrap during one of our visits - excellent. Their lattes were outstanding. Great idea, poor execution. MASSIVE menu but you can definitely tell where the balance between quality and quantity is lost. Sandwich was soggy and difficult to consume with a lot of the cheese running out of the sandwich and being too overcooked to eat. Didn't actually finish the sandwich and that is a rarity for me. Tomato Soup was very runny, weak and lacked flavor and had an almost microwaved consistency and taste to it. Coffee also tasted off for some reason, almost having an old/stale flavor. Not to far from hotel. The guy working was very nice in that I wasn't sure which soup to get (leaning towards chicken pot pie) and gave me a sample. I ordered an 8 oz cup along with chicken salad croissant on his suggestion. I really enjoyed the soup. It was like a watery version of chicken pot pie. The chicken salad was tasty. It had chopped almonds and even seedless grapes for sweetness. I wish I had found them soon but I know the next time. It had been a few years since coming here and I was pleasantly surprised! This place is really doing a lot of things right. They are located on the east end of a very small strip center and are set up for a drive through, which is great in bad weather or if you're just trying to be quick. They have doubled the inside space since expanding into a previous donut shop next door. This would be a great place for a group meetup, lots of space. They have booth and table seating and a combo booth/chairs. Everything looks clean and well kept. The service was excellent. They want to make their customers happy, and I believe for the most part, it is family run. Quick and friendly when they bring the food out to your table. They have a large menu but it can be grouped into breakfast or lunch/dinner, with each having multiple variations of croissant sandwiches, wraps, salads and soups. They have really great soups year round, and even though it is just about summer, there was a soup bowl on every single occupied table. You can ask for a soup sample if you can't decide. Perfect food for any time, but especially when the weather shifts to be a bit cooler. I really enjoyed the buffalo turkey grilled cheese. It's not too overwhelming with sauce but has enough to give a good flavor. My family loves the baked potato and the broccoli cheese soup. I nice change is pace restaurant. Love this place. It has way too many options so I usually end up getting the same sandwich (bacon pastrami on a croissant) but everything I ever get here is great. And the BOBA!! This place was pretty good. I'm going with 5 starts for the combination of the whole experience. Based on food alone, I would give the two soups I had a 5. We had the Thai chix curry and loaded potatoes. Both yummy. We also had the Ruben and grilled Gouda. The Ruben was pretty good and the grilled Gouda was eh. The service was super quick and friendly. I work across the street and come here for lunches (found out this place from coworkers) since they know we are working and on a time crunch they are SUPER fast and efficient when coming to ordering. As someone who generally does not enjoy soups it is not an over exaggeration to say this was one of the best soups I've ever had, the bread bowl was fresh the potatoes were soft and flavorful, overall the loaded baked potato soup was phenomenal! I also ordered the Italian soda and their small is around the same size as a 24oz or larger, not to mention the flavor I let out an audible wow at how wonderful the taste was. I said no and the lady behind the register gave me samples of everything. Before she gave me some potato bacon she said there is bacon and ham in it and if that is ok. That is super awesome because a lot of people don't eat pork. I ended up getting the chipotle bacon grilled cheese. Half. It was the size of a full sandwich. My wife and I were visiting in January and are planning to relocate to the Treasure Valley here. We decided to try the Soup Kettle Grille. Very casual, and somewhat small. You order your food and grab a table. They bring your food to you. We both had soup and a sandwich. I can't remember what my wife had but I had the Buffalo Grill Cheese and a bowl of Tomato Basil soup. We both enjoyed our selections. If only Orange County, CA had a place like this! Stood to order and food was brought to the table. Bread bowl was fresh like that I could order it with any soup had it with potato, the soup was OK. Had the Gouda grilled cheese. It came out on regular size white bread, which means most of the cheese melted off the side and ended up getting crunchy in the pan. I like the additional flavors added in with the peppers and tomatoes, but most of my cheese was outside of my bread. Ordered the tomato soup it was fair. Soda fountains are self served. I highly recommend trying this place out if you have never been. The staff is so friendly and kind and I think this place has amazing food and drinks to offer. My friend and I both ordered the Gouda grilled cheese and potato soup. We also got sample of all of their soups they had for the week. I ended up liking some of the samples of soup better than the soup I ordered, but that's okay because I plan to be back. The potato soup was a little too bland for me personally, I like souper;) cheesy, bacon-y potato soup and I just feel like it was lacking flavor. I liked my grilled freeze but it was on the soggy side rather than the crispy on the outside, but I still enjoyed all of it. My favorite soups were the corn cheddar and the Thai chicken curry. I absolutely loved my chai tea with boba and my friend got a caramel smoothie with boba and I thought it tasted like the caramel frappe from McDonald's (YUM) . 4.5 stars. Ordered online for delivery to Hotel 28 through GrubHub asap. The food was delicious, very filling, and arrived quickly. So filling, the Asian chicken salad was saved for today. We really enjoyed the Kettle chicken salad sandwich that included halved juicy sweet red grapes, with the added crunch of slivered almonds. The Cuban sandwich was tasty, just a bit salty for me. Possibly pork carnitas instead of the ham would be less salty? My companion thoroughly enjoyed the Cuban hot sandwich though, so maybe it was just me. The side salads were plentiful and tasted wonderfully with the halved grape sweet tomatoes, diced cucumbers and a balsamic vinaigrette that complimented the fresh vegetables ever so nicely. The brownies for dessert were delicious as well. We both thoroughly enjoyed the Guinness beef stew. Very tasty and homemade goodness like a hug from grandma and well enjoyed on a chilly evening. You could tell everything was made with love. I left special instructions for delivery at the back of the hotel, soup spoons, forks, and napkins. The GrubHub delivery driver, said she didn't see the special instructions for some reason. Thankfully, my order included napkins and cutlery. I will definitely be a repeat customer when visiting Boise. If you live in the area, consider purchasing a 32oz container of their nice assortment of soups to have on hand for another meal. Perfect idea if a family member or friend isn't feeling well instead of making homemade soup yourself (which I have time consumingly done on multiple occasions. Great job!! We love this place! Tucked away off of Overland & Eagle, they offer such a vast menu. We stopped in for lunch today, I got the Gouda Grilled Cheese which has roasted red peppers and onions, with the. Most delicious cheese skirt surrounding the sandwich with crispy cheesy goodness. I also had the Loaded Potato soup which is also a favorite of mine. My son got the Chicken Bacon Wrap which was huge and a bowl of the Tomato Basil Soup. It is a small shop, with a few tables, very clean. Great experience here! Got to sample the soups to pick which we wanted before fully committing and there were so many gluten free options to choose from.
