Pesto Chicken
Judi B.

My husband and I have eaten at several Zupas locations throughout the valley and this is our least favorite location. Everyone is relatively friendly and helpful, but service is slower than standard, food doesn't seem as fresh and they are always out of chip options. We were greeted with a very friendly smile and eager service. The line from ordering to checking out did go rather slowly. Got to the cashier and found out they only had salt & vinegar chips (hubby only likes regular flavors), so he had to skip a side. Loved the soda options, though several of the drink "upgrades" were out of stock or empty. Trash bin was overflowing with plates, bowls and trash right next to the drinking station which was a tad off-putting. There were plenty of table options, though some still had trash on them. We picked a table in the corner to have a little privacy and chit-chat over dinner. Unfortunately for us, after a few minutes of sanctuary, a manager took an employee to the table next to us to discuss the employee's possibility of leaving at high volume. It made us very uncomfortable for the employee and made it nearly impossible to chat. That aside, my Strawberry Harvest salad was underdressed, the apples were turning brown and the chicken was spongy. My pesto chicken sandwich was not as flavorful as I typically have, though the bread tasted fresh. My husband was happy with his sandwich, especially since they did his custom order correctly. The rolls and chocolate covered strawberries were deliciously plump and juicy. We still love Cafe Zupas, just don't love this location.

I've only had café zuppa in Vegas. I got the choose two with the nut berry salad and the chicken pesto sandwich. The dressing on the salad was so sweet. It was unedible. The chicken sandwich was fine. I just prefer a little more pesto.

In this world right now is so much hate. I thought I would share something that still is happening if you are nice and caring. My friend Salle and I stopped in Zupas on Eagle for lunch today. We were ordering and talking to the staff members. When we went to pay, Natalie and Rebekah the managers told us lunch was on them. We were shocked and so grateful, not so much as free, but the kindness they shared. They had said a man had come in, I guess not so nice to them and they wanted to combat that feeling and share the love for others. What do you think people?? There are still so many kind people out there, what goes around comes around, don't you think. Thank you so much for your generosity and caring Natalie and Rebekah and Zupas for instilling this in their team members!

Food was very good. I purchased the Turkey Bacon Avocado Sandwich and a bowl of lobster bisque. The drink bar was a nice little twist to create your own flavored drinks. The staff were pleasant and efficient. Definitely recommend a visit based on price and location!

Oh my goodness. The Belgium Chocolate Pistachio Covered Strawberries are the bomb. Was skeptical at first sight but pleasantly surprised.

We didn't realize that there were no tables to be able to eat at. Honestly, after dealing with their air conditioning not working, I don't think I would have enjoyed eating there. The staff was super kind considering they were working in such horrible conditions. It was cooler outside than inside. And it's hot outside, we are in the tail end of summer. We were mid 90's today. I could only imagine how hot it was inside. I have worked in conditions like this before and it's miserable. The fact that they worked through that heat is something to be commended for. We all enjoyed our food. We ate our goodies in the car with the air blasting. Everything was prepared nicely. I walked back in to throw our trash away and to grab some extra napkins. I did talk to the employees about propping the door open to get some air moving through the facility. They stated it was going to be a month to get it fixed. They had already been working in that heat for a week already. I hope they get the air conditioner fixed sooner than a month. No one should be working in that unbearable kind of heat. Service was great today. All of our food was tasty. I always get the 99 in a bowl with banana peppers. It's always so good! I do hope they get that air conditioner corrected soon. No one should be working in such a miserable work space.

I called in ahead for pickup, and told them I'd be there in 10 minutes. They could do that and sandwiches were ready when I arrived. Despite the line, paid quickly and I was on my way home from work with tasty food on a day way to hot to want to cook. Tried the Jersey Shore's Favorite for the first time, Mike's way. Lots of meat and good flavor. I like how thinly sliced the onions are and the tomatoes are ripe. Plenty of toppings were basic, without having to hover over other sandwich makers asking "can I get a bit more?"

Ordering was quick, though with all the delicious options, it did take a long time to choose what to eat. I ended up trying the hot pastrami sandwich called the "Santana" and my friend ordered the Turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich. We splurged on fries. Lunch took about 10 minutes and in deli fashion, wrapped in butcher paper. I was smitten kitten after my first bite of the Santana; perfectly toasted marbled rye, creamy coleslaw that tasted freshly made (not too tangy, just a hint of pepper), slathered with thousand island dressing cradling a neat stack of perfectly trimmed hot pastrami. Every bite was downright perfection. Yes, I debated leaving half for later...but lost that internal debate. Fries were thick and battered, perfectly fried with a very nice fry sauce. Highly recommend getting the fries with any of the sandwiches. My friend's turkey sandwich looked crafted instead of made...with the shredded lettuce, crispy bacon, layers of turkey on the softest, hugest sandwich roll. She could stop at half but that sandwich was huge! Definitely worth every cent. I woke up the next morning wanting to go again that day...if that's not proof enough that this place is exceptional, I don't know what else is.

My Corned Beef Sandwich was everything that I wanted and needed: big, tasty, messy, and yummy. The Fries were delicious as well. And my wife had the French Dip Sandwich which was also delicious.

To say I was disappointed would be an understatement of the year…read more I went in last night to scope the bakery offerings. I saw empty trays of butter croissants, palmiers, and chocolate croissants. The prices compared to what is being offered in Boise was less expensive so it seemed like Paris Banh Mi sold out of these items. I gathered my daughter and my French mom the next morning to get to Paris Banh Mi at their opening to only find that those empty trays from the night before were still empty. I walked up to the young man at the cashier and asked where were all the croissants, palmiers, and chocolate croissants. He tells me, matter of factly, that what they have is out on display. To be clear, what was out on display was two or three offerings of bakery goods that didn't look fresh or even appetizing. If you're going to be a French bakery and have trays with the words of Croissants, Palmiers, and others then stock it OR Remove them as it is false advertising. Matter of fact, take out the Eiffel Tower by the front door while you're at it. There's NOTHING FRENCH or PARIS related here. I will never come back. It was embarrassing experience.

Their broth accommodates those that has a mild spicy level. Beef is tender and the pho is amazing as well. I still think they could still switch the plastic bowls and spoons to reusable and sustainable bowls is all. We did get their spring rolls but it was 2.5/5 for us. Noticed they used iceberg lettuce and could use more traditional herbs such as mint and a different type of lettuce. Felt like there was more iceberg lettuce than the actual protein and noodles. The peanut sauce was a bit sweet and had a more jelly consistency. Drinks and pastry was delicious! Danish was still warm and drink was much needed for a sweet taste. Fast service and cute setting
