I visited Cupbop for the first time last night after ordering online, but the experience was quite frustrating. After arriving to pick up my food, I was informed two items were out of stock. When I asked to cancel the order, the staff repeatedly redirected me to Uber Eats--even though I had ordered directly through their website. Eventually, the order was found and refunded, but the lack of an apology or any level of kindness from the two employees on shift was disappointing. I've operated in the F&B industry and know how hard it is to find good people, so I'm writing this as a heads-up to the owner. I'd love to see this location succeed, but the current level of service will unfortunately drive customers away. For reference I was in on 4/8 at 7pm to pick up my order placed at 6:09pm. read more

It's like the Chipotle of Korean food. Yeah, I know I saw the concept on Shark Tank. You get to choose your base, protein, sauce, etc. We ordered a bowl with beef, and another bowl with chicken. The beef was okay. It was a little oily. My wife thought the chicken katsu was a little dry. They are okay for a quick kind of cheaper meal. It looks a lot better on TV. read more

We moved to Star three months ago and have been wanting to try Cup Bop. Today, Tuesday, we came for lunch. Located right next to The Tavern at Chinden and Linder, it has a fast food vibe, with typical tables and chairs that you can arrange to your party size. You order at the counter. There is a choice of protein on a bed of rice, noodles, and cabbage, if you desire. I had the BBQ chicken and pork, while my wife just had pork. We didn't get cabbage. There is a 1-10 scale of spice. We chose #6. That was spicy enough for us. I found the chicken well cooked and flavorful, preferable to the pork. I enjoyed the texture of the noodles and rice and the sauces were also very good. Reasonably priced at about $11 with tax. Staff were nice. We will return. read more

The food is consistently good but a problem that i've had the last 3-4 times i've been there as been the wait time and consistency of service. I ask for no cabbage on online orders, because it's always busy with the line stretching to 5 or so people and staying there, and there is almost always cabbage and the wait time ends up being 20ish mins longer than it was supposed to be. I understand that restaurants get busy and in this case the staff are trying their best but one thing i notice is it's always understaffed and i blame the management for either staffing poorly or creating a bum work environment or both or whatever else it could be. read more

Have not been in a couple of years. Went in after shopping at Fred Meyers and used a credit card, had not used said card at Fred Meyers or any other time after for a couple of weeks. There was a ding to my card for small amount, then tennis shoes bought and luckily charges stopped by my card service. It was easy to know where card had been used. Sooo....have not been back. This used to be such a good place with awesome food - I believe there are new owners. Now the food is subpar, the rice and noodles are hard, the pieces of chicken are tiny and it's drenched in sauce. Raw Food, Filthy Dining Room, and Owner Who Argues - A Total Disaster" Rating: \text{1/5} Stars (Worst experience) My family spent $89 at Cupbop expecting a fun, quick meal, and what we received was an absolute disaster on all fronts: food quality, sanitation, and customer service. The Food Quality Issue The K-Dog was served with visibly raw dough. This is a serious food safety concern, and when I brought it to the owner's attention, the interaction became unacceptable. Unacceptable Customer Service Instead of immediately apologizing and offering a resolution, the owner argued with me about the raw dough and then asked, in an unhelpful tone, "What do you want me to do?" This dismissive and argumentative response to a serious complaint is completely unprofessional and disrespectful to a customer who just spent a substantial amount of money. The owner made me feel like I was the problem. Disgusting Sanitation The dining room was frankly disgusting. Every surface was filthy: * The counters were sticky. * The chairs were sticky and visibly filthy. * We had to clean our own table just to have a place to eat. The overall lack of cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area was so severe that I am now concerned about the possibility of food poisoning. Given the raw dough, the sticky, filthy environment, and the owner's lack of care, I have absolutely no confidence in the kitchen's standards. Verdict: I strongly advise anyone to avoid this location. We went to this restaurant for the first time on Friday night at 5 and we were not impressed! The two young men that helped us were not rude but they obviously didn't want to be there. The young lady that was on the cash register did a great job! The two bowls we got were oily and were not hot! Barely warm at best! Atmosphere was not very inviting. Food is always great when ordering in store, but terrible when ordering through a delivery service. The first delivery we ordered came with the smallest amount of sauce and wasn't near enough to coat the food. Which wasn't the end of the world, we made sauce at home and it worked out. Our second time came with five of the smallest pieces of tofu lol I was able to speak with the manager who offered to remake the bowl if we drove to the store. Unfortunately it's a 25 min drive for us so not doable. That said, I've never had a bad experience in store. Absolutely would not recommend ordering through a delivery service though. read more

I love cupbop. At least I love it in Nampa. I stopped at the cupbop in Meridian today because it was convenient this time. The guy helping me had no personality. I was told that there wasn't any more gluten free, that it was all the same. The breaded chicken for the ugly bop was so dry I almost choked. It took me 3 minutes just to chew the first piece. Thankfully they went very skimpy on the chicken so I could enjoy the over packed noodles. They were also very skimpy on the sauce. Next time it will be worth the drive to go to the one in Nampa unless owners have changed and this is just how they're going to be from now on. read more

I'm not even embarrassed to admit that I stopped in here twice during the quick trip I took to Meridian this month. If I'd gone one more time maybe they would've known my name by the end of the week! Good evening, for starters I would like to speak on the service. They were very attentive and polite also pretty fast, amazing attitude and welcomed me with a smile on their face, so I would like to thank them for that. It was my first time here and I love the concept and the simplicity of it, ideal for anyone who may be in a rush or need a quick bite to eat. Unfortunately, I was disappointed on the way the food tasted I ordered the beef but I wasn't a fan of it, the meat was overcooked and the seasoning wasn't quite there. I ordered the 7.5 sauce with it and it was too much of a serving especially with the portion that they give out, it can overwhelmed or take away from the rice, glass noodles and veggies. Those three tasted good but unfortunately as i mentioned before the sauce was overpowering the whole bowl. Personally I love the idea and with a little improvement and minimizing the amount of sauce this could be an amazing spot. Flavor is good on the bowl but their meat portions are horrible. I order extra meat which is an extra ~$2.50 and I the amount they put on is a joke. Even for a regular bowl without paying extra I'd be disappointed. It's like 6 bites of meat. Just full of noodles and rice. Not worth ~$20. Service is mediocre at best as well. Although the food was good, and staff was nice enough, my reason for the post is to point out how run down and dirty this store is. As a business owner myself, I know several of these issues could be remedied with a simple walk through of the restaurant every 30-60 minutes. They seemed fully staffed, and it wasn't busy so some of the staff that were meandering could have 1) checked, cleaned, restocked fountain drinks and area, 2) wiped down tables and chairs (we had to look for a clean table), 3) swept the floors. The restaurant could use regular maintenance to touch up scuffs and chips in the paint throughout the dining area. If I were the owner of this restaurant, I'd want to know. read more

I don't know why Cupbop seems to hire the most dumbass teenagers with no adult supervision. Even when they hire new staff it's the same thing. Everytime I go to this specific cupbop they are always out of something. They all do not know how to interact with people cause they are high or tripping on something. The food is lukewarm and they fill the cup about halfway up. It just feels so awkward in there. If you want good cupbop go to the one in the village at least they actually are mentally capable of doing their job right. It's the bare minimum guys I know you can do better. read more

I had CupBop several years ago and went way too hard on the spicy level because I normally like spicy foods. My husband is obsessed so I decided to give it another try, and I'm so glad I did! Everything tastes very fresh, and the meat is juicy and flavorful. The mix of cabbage, rice, and noodles is a little weird texture-wise. So if you're a picky eater, you can always ask them to do more or less of one of these ingredients. Their mandoo potstickers aren't all that great but standard and don't taste bad. Go easy on the spice level for your first time! I also recommend them for a good Gluten Free selection as well. read more

My husband and I first had cupbop when we lived in Provo, Utah. It was relatively new at the time. It was divine from what I remember. It had so many flavors, plentiful meat, and we loved it! While visiting family in Idaho last year, we had it again and really enjoyed it, but unfortunately this time around it wasn't great. I don't know if we ordered something different than we did before, if we didn't get enough sauce or if it's just not as good as we remember it, but we didn't love our experience this time. We both got a combo bowl and it felt like there was hardly any meat and the flavor was lacking. The service however was wonderful! I am an introvert and love nothing more than getting in and out of a store or restaurant with minimal talking or interaction with people. Haha! The person serving up our bowls was very friendly and genuine and I enjoyed talking with her! Not sure we will come back next time we are in town. We will just have to reminisce on the good ole days in Provo when we truly loved this meal! Haha! read more

I really want to like CupBop as there are so many cool things about its location in Meridian off of Chinden and Linder. The overall design and colors really make it stand out. The Black and Yellow on the walls and the ceiling are very distinctive. The menu is very straightforward and simple which I like and believe all restaurants should adopt. My dinner companion ordered the Tofu and Kimchi Bowl. All the CupBop bowls come with rice and then you choose what you want. The sweet potato glass noodles are a great edition as well as cooking the Tofu fresh. There's quite a bit sauces but before I go any forward, let's take a couple of steps back. You'll walk in and directly to your right is a picture board with Polaroids with no mention or explanation as to why there are pictures there. Moving towards the 'Order Here' is a TV playing sports. CupBop is not a sports pub or sports grill. There's really no need for the TV unless it was playing KPOP videos or Korean dramas. The Menu board - TV monitor is on the wall to your right when your order. That's fine but there's two tables directly to your left. Granted no one was sitting there when we were there but I highly doubt anyone wants to sit there anyways. Those tables shouldn't be there. Ordering in front of the rice cooker, guests can see the shelves of drinks and see beyond into the operations. This may be or ok or not ok depending on what the owners what their customers to see The steam table of items are all lidded and it's kinda of a hide and seek situation. It's not like a Chipotle or Costa Vida where all the items are clearly visible. The children drawings on the back wall are cute but drawings typically don't survive well in a BOH setting. I would kindly suggest for those to be moved where the TV that was playing sports is located so that customers who walk in see those drawing up close and personal rather from behind a glass partition and up on a kitchen wall. Now, let's get back to the progression of the order, Rice from the rice cooker, then lettuce or cabbage, then the your items from the covered steam table and then the sauce station. The sauce station is odd because there's a parade of squeeze bottles but it's not clear which one is which. There's the Goji and the Orange mayo sauce but none of them are within reach of the customers and the sauces are manned by the cashier because it's the next step. After saucing is paying. The service is ok. The word I would use is inconsistent. Some hats worn correctly and others backwards. Some shirts tucked in and others untucked. Some employees have phones in the back pocket or by their stations and others don't. This is an issue as well as mopping the floor at dinner time. I can understand mopping if the floor had a spill but it makes no sense to mop the floor moments before your busiest hours. Why make your parade of customers tip toe through the dining room during peak hours. Remember those Polaroids on the wall. On our way out, we checked to see what it was all about. It's a survivor board. These are pictures of customers who ate their CupBop with level 10 sauce. Ok. Now I get it. Why not promote the board the right way? That's something that should be highlighted or accentuated not to be a piece of Pictionary or charades. It was clear to me that there's a lack of leadership and management. All of the critiques mentioned above are fixable. I am more than willing to help the owners and/or the management because I want CupBop to succeed. My companion's Bowl was on point. 10 out of 10 and she cooks her own Korean food as well as Ramen. So, CupBop my offer stands. If you need a Robert Irvine or Gordon Ramsey, I can tell you that they aren't available but I am. Looking forward to returning and seeing the improvements. read more

I was very impressed with the ability to customize to gluten free noodles... & to chose a perfect level of spiciness in the sauce (level 4 was a nice milder medium...) I ordered the B Bop Bowl (beef) that had a generous portion of beef. I also ordered a side of kimchi... which for me went great when mixed right into the beef bowl. Service is good, the servers are cheerful and helpful. Food is meh. My grilled chicken bowl was drown in sauces. Sauce was too rich - tasty in the first few mouthfuls but everything tasted the same after. Too little veggies though the noodles were pretty good but I can't taste it separately as it was overwhelmed by the rich sauces. Mandoo were cold and hard, the fillings won't bad but I hate chewing on hard n cold mandoo. My husband's combo bowl was meh too, he said. I don't think we'll be back. So disappointed Cup Bop was amazing when they first opened. Went here last week. I do have to say they were stocked with ingredients this time. Service was bad! The "Kid" was helping us and then said "I'll be right back" watched him walk over to the other "Kid" who was sweeping and said something to him. Then walked back to us, to finish up our order. YUM! This place hits the spot in all the good ways. It's really flavorful and definitely worth your money. I think I paid like $12 total for everything: the Bbop + mandoo! I got the Bbop, which is the Korean style BBQ beef served w/ rice & lettuce & mixed cabbage. EVERYTHING WAS ON POINT. Even the lettuce and mixed cabbage was bursting with flavor- like come on, lemme tell ya, I'm guilty of skipping veggies in general, but it was delicious! I also got the mandoo, but it was ok, nothing special. Their sauce was also delicious too. I like my spice, so I chose a level 7. It went soooo well with the beef. I recommend getting the sauce separately! Yum yum yum, though. Thinking about it right now! Big flavor bombs everywhere. Our office had CupBop's food truck come for lunch this week. I was severely impressed because it was just one person working the food and she managed to take care of all of us! I had the B_Bop, spice level 4, kimchee on top. It was very delicious but I could have used a little more spicy heat. The kimchee was more on the sweet side than what I'm used to. Next time I'll know to dial up the spicy heat factor with the kimchee, and there will be a next time. read more

I'm not sure how this place isn't rated more highly. We stopped in on a whim and got the half noodles, half rice with bulgogi option. It blew my mind how good it was, especially for a fast-ish food place. The mandoo were great as well. You shake the bowl to mix it all up after they put it all together and give you whatever spicy sauce you choose. And you're off. Can't tell you how tasty it was and how flavorful the bulgogi was. I looked for where all the Cupbop locations were so that I could have it again and somehow this doesn't exist on the West Coast! I am counting the days till I can get back to the Mountain West for more Cupbop. read more

Oh, HECK YEAH! This place is so rad. To be honest, we've only orderd it from DoorDash for lunch but it NEVER disappoints. Seriously the second time was even better than the first. You get a MASSIVE bowl of food. The BBQ PORK IS THE BESSSTTTTTT. the noodles are amazing, the rice is great and the SUACE! oh my gosh. The price is great also!
