    Lunch pad Thai with tofu
    Dani S.

Thai Basil is hands down one of the best Thai restaurants in town. From the food to the service, you will not be disappointed. I have been coming here for years with my Grandma. My Grandma is a very specific eater and Thai Basil always accommodates her needs. Lisa always takes great care of my Grandma and will never forget how my Grandma likes her food prepared. I stopped in for to go lunch today. I got the pad Thai with tofu and Grandma's special. My lunch was fabulous as always! So flavorful and tasty. Grandma's ate a lot of her meal and will have some for later. We finished off our lunch with purple sticky rice with mango. It's such a simple dessert but so good! Everything is so good here! Yellow curry, pad see ew, rad na...... I can go on and on. If you're looking for a good Thai joint in the Meridian area, Thai Basil is your spot to hit up.

The ambiance is great. The fresh salad rolls are on par, but instead of the chili sauce needs to be served with peanut sauce. Ask and they will sub it out. The shrimp dish only had 8 small shrimp. The service was slow and seemed overwhelmed and unorganized. Will comeback and try again.

Well the shrimp "summer rolls" are SO GOOD that we forgot to get a pic but trust me, you want them. So fresh and delicious. We bring our kiddo here every couple months and it never disappoints! Red curry is delicious, I get either chicken or tofu. The kids menu chicken pad Thai is a decent portion also. If you like spicy, the chili oil that they make is super good! Service is great also, they pretty much know our order by now and have good suggestions if we ever want to switch it up.

Food and services was amazing! Wings were saucy and delicious. Papaya salad was 10/10. Great flavor and crunch. Pad thai was good! Nothing out of the ordinary though and beef was delicious. Will definitely be coming back

Came here with a party of 3 for dinner on a Sunday evening and this place was pretty packed! Luckily, we didn't have a hard time finding parking and we only waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated. The service was quick and friendly! I ordered the chicken pad Thai with medium spice. For a frame of reference, my upper limit is hot Cheetos and the medium spice here definitely was skirting on that edge, but I could've handle more spice. The pad Thai itself was great! It was a perfect portion in my opinion. Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Found this little gem of a place on a moments notice. Fortunately I missed the mad rush for lunch so the service was great and food came out fast. Started with the Tom Yum soup with shrimp. It was perfect. Then I had the green curry with shrimp. The serving of Jasmine rice was about the size of a softball! Very generous! The curry was nice and creamy and not too spicy. They did it right and the mix of veggies in it was great. Not overloaded with bamboo (thank God). Anyhow, the food was amazing and service was great. Would totally go back again. Ignore the warning in possible slow service they have when you walk in. They pulled it off today!

    Pathetic Lettuce wrap dish

We were seated quickly at 5:30 on a Friday night. Nice Thai style decor and lighting. That is the best part about this place. Only half full at this hour we waited at our table for a server for quite some time. About 5:45 a server came over and took our order. We ordered an appetizer of lettuce wraps, 2 water, saki, and 3 entrees with a 2* spice. When she left the table my husband said" well she is not in a good mood is she"? To which I replied no she definitely is not, I hope the rest of the night is not like this. Well, it was. After walking away we did not see her again. About 15 minutes passed without getting our drinks. Another table next to us sat down about and had their drinks almost immediately with another server. I asked that server if he would have our server bring our drinks. He went and got our drinks for us and apologized. Another guy brought our sorry looking lettuce wraps a few minutes later. As seen in the picture there is no way to wrap anything. This was served with a 4"x4" triangle chunk of iceberg lettuce, mostly which was yellow. Not a good start with the food. At 6:25 our entrees finally came by way of another person who set them on the table and started to walk away. We called back after him as we had no plates, napkins or serving utensils. He apologized and went to get them for us. The veggie stir fry was pretty good and spiced as we like, about a 2*. The Drunken noodles were not fully cooked and had 0 flavor and 0 spice. Had a bit or 2 and left it. Lastly we ordered a Chicken Fried Rice. While it was a good fried rice, there was 0 spice. Our server never came back to check on us, fill our water or take our empty plates. We sat there, never seeing our server again waiting for someone to help. Finally the hostess walked by and I had to ask her to send our server as we had not seen her since she took our order. She went to the kitchen and I saw her talking to the server but she still did not come over. Some else brought our bill. We paid and were leaving when miraculously our server came over and apologized for not being around. That was an understatement. She gave her reason that she was an expeditor not a server and she was busy with to go orders. Well, if you are not a server don't take our order and leave us stranded. Not a good experience and we will go elsewhere in the future.

Menu prices deceptively low and small portions!

Talk about a mystery! My wife and I finally swung by for a kid-free Saturday date night, and honestly, we've been missing out. The Vibe & A Happy Surprise The atmosphere is so welcoming with plenty of seating, but take my advice: get there early! By 6:30 PM, the place was packed. As a wine lover, I was hit with a total "welcome shock." Usually, Thai spots stick to a basic beer list, but Sa-Wad-Dee has a fantastic wall of wine! Seeing a solid selection of bottles and glasses made me feel right at home. I grabbed a bottle of one of my favorite reds at a very reasonable price--definitely my kind of dinner. The Main Event The service was top-tier, super attentive, friendly, and just genuinely nice people. And the food? Not a single miss. * Drunken Noodles: Full of authentic, bold flavor. * Shrimp Curry: Absolutely fantastic. Final Thoughts If you're looking for excellent Thai in Meridian, don't hesitate. And if you love a good glass of red with your curry, this is officially your new favorite spot. We'll definitely be back (and won't wait another eight years this time!).

I didn't really care for the tofu they used. But I came in today with an open mind. It was a pretty chill afternoon when I got there so I was sat quickly. I waited for my friend to show up so I just hung out and looked over the menu. For lunch I decided to order the Tom Yum soup. It was colder today so something hot would be nice. My friend ordered a couple things for lunch. I remember he did order the crying tiger ( I believe that that is what it was called). My soup came out in a beautifully decorated bowl. It was sitting on top of a burner but the burner wasn't lit which confused me. It would have been nice if the burner would have been lit to keep the soup hot. The soup was flavorful but really sweet. I didn't taste much sour or heat to the soup. You get a hearty amount of mushrooms, chicken and broth. Overall it was a decent soup. After a while I focused on just eating the stuff in the soup and not finishing the broth. You can handle so much of the sweetness. Service was good. I did get a taste of my friend's marinated steak, it was really good. But for the cost of the steak, you really don't get much. I have tried this place twice now and I wish I could say that I love it. The food is decent but there are so many Thai joints in the valley that I just like a little better. I'm happy I got to try it twice but I'll just stick to my regular joints that I frequent.
