The "Where Have You Been All My Life?" Moment We've lived in Meridian for eight years, literally half a mile down the road for some of that time, and we are just now trying Sa-Wad-Dee? Talk about a mystery! My wife and I finally swung by for a kid-free Saturday date night, and honestly, we've been missing out. The Vibe & A Happy Surprise The atmosphere is so welcoming with plenty of seating, but take my advice: get there early! By 6:30 PM, the place was packed. As a wine lover, I was hit with a total "welcome shock." Usually, Thai spots stick to a basic beer list, but Sa-Wad-Dee has a fantastic wall of wine! Seeing a solid selection of bottles and glasses made me feel right at home. I grabbed a bottle of one of my favorite reds at a very reasonable price--definitely my kind of dinner. The Main Event The service was top-tier, super attentive, friendly, and just genuinely nice people. And the food? Not a single miss. * Drunken Noodles: Full of authentic, bold flavor. * Shrimp Curry: Absolutely fantastic. Final Thoughts If you're looking for excellent Thai in Meridian, don't hesitate. And if you love a good glass of red with your curry, this is officially your new favorite spot. We'll definitely be back (and won't wait another eight years this time!).

Moved back to the area and haven't been to this restaurant in over 10 years. It was not as I remember it. Ordered the fresh salad rolls and most Thai restaurants serve these with peanut sauce. I ask for that instead of the chile with peanut and they added four bucks to the bill. You can see it in the picture. The rolls had good flavor but were small. Ordered a glass of Sauvignon blanc and it totally tasted like Chardonnay. Ask the server and she said it was correct. I don't dink it and she didn't to anything to correct it. Waisted $9. The asparagus dish had good flavor but very little protein. Counted 4 shrimp in the dish. Overall take was service was marginal. Prices were high for what was served. It's not what it used to be. Wouldn't repeat

I just got hired to be a mascot for a tax business next to this Thai restaurant on the weekends and since my shift got cut short due to an insane amount of rain that made it difficult for me to walk and dance along the sidewalk in a blow up costume while holding a sign, decided to get some lunch here. Let me tell you, I was definitely not disappointed!! It's a cute little restaurant and the workers were overall friendly. I started with a cocktail called the Tom Yum margarita which is extremely unique- it's got Thai Chili lemongrass, lime and cilantro! While it has the Chili and it says on the menu that it's spicy.. I really didn't find it all that spicy personally. The lime and cilantro were the strongest flavors in it. It was very good and makes me want to try more of their drinks. For my entree I got sweet and sour chicken with brown rice which was delicious but for $15, you hardly get any chicken in it. I'd probably get it again sometime but id pay extra for more chicken to be added. I plan to visit again soon to try their orange chicken and another cocktail !

Tasty! Ordered Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew both were flavorful. $15.99 per dish. Good portion. Plenty of tables. Ambiance is on the quiet side with music playing. Good service.

I started with Sa-Wad-Dee Sampler. I picked a good choice. It came with an assortment of five delicious appetizers. So good, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Num Tok (Spicy Grilled Beef), meat was so tender and packed with flavor. Yummy Chicken with Cashew Nut was truly excellent, balanced, comforting and done just right. Pineapple Fried rice was outstanding. Service was very good and timely. They also offer carry-out. I'll be back without hesitation.

Just a wonderful experience for a Sunday brunch. This appears to be a hidden gem because just about everything was outstandingl Pros - Nicely varied menu, beautiful restaurant, friendly service, delicious food. I always order the Penang Curry to evaluate a Thai restaurant. This was a very generously portioned curry with background heat, rich flavor, and a touch of sweetness. Large plump broccoli florets offset a lovely contrast with the reddish-pink hue of the curry. I ordered a side of brown rice, which was deliciously soft and slightly nutty. I ordered just the regular iced tea, but it was quite refreshing with clean flavor. And they offer free refills! I love the attention to detail with the delicately carved lemon slices. The silverware has a good weight to it with a beautiful bamboo pattern. They have very nice heavyweight plastic containers with tight fitting lids to take your extra food home, guaranteed not to spill. . Cons - I was given the choice of steamed or fried tofu, and I opted for the steamed, but unfortunately, my dish was served with the fried tofu. I mentioned this to the server who offered to make the correction, but I told her it was not a problem, and actually, the fried tofu was quite delicious! The prices tend to be on the high side, but I am sure this is to maintain their quality and reputation of being excellent thai cuisine. Plus the bonus of being able to take some home!

Love this place!!! It is so comfortable! The service was top shelf, the guy knew his stuff on heat (1-5) and ingredients! And the Green Papaya Salad is off the chain good! I loved the Green Curry 4-heat!!! All and all, we will be back again and again!!!

Get ready to tantalize your taste buds!…read more I visited this place on an early Sunday evening around 5 p.m. It wasn't too crowded, but it was bustling with DoorDash orders. I was introduced to this spot by DoorDash, and I was eager to try the restaurant for the fresh-cooked food experience. The hostess greeted me right away and showed me where to sit. Since I had walked over 2 miles to get here, I wanted to be seated rather than at one of the bar tables. If you're a fan of Thai food, this might just be your favorite place in Boise! It's got a nice vibe, and I noticed that the tables and chairs are cleaned after each visit. Everything is very clean and classy, even the restroom. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, but not too flashy. Fresh Spring Rolls with Shrimp 5/5 Spring mix, cucumber, carrot, cilantro, mint, rice noodles, and avocado wrapped in rice, served with peanut sauce or spicy Thai seafood sauce (add Shrimp for $2 extra). These are like a delicious, fresh, hand-held salad wrapped in rice paper. They're not fried, but fresh my favorite way to enjoy them. They also have Crispy Rolls, but I prefer the fresh ones. These are especially great on a hot summer day! They come with two dipping sauces: a peanut one and a lemony butter sauce. I know I'm different, but I like the lemony butter sauce instead of the peanut sauce. Pad See Ew 5/5 Stir-fried flat rice noodles with egg, carrot, broccoli in sweet black soy sauce, with your choice of meat. I tried it with seafood once and with veggies and beef another time. Always delish! Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) 3/5 Stir-fried flat rice noodles with green bean, bell pepper, Thai herbs, chilies, and basil, with your choice of meat. I've had mine with chicken, but this one's my least favorite because I thought some of the pieces were a bit too dry. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I didn't eat a few because they were tough. Since it was my second time, I didn't want to complain then, but maybe I should have mentioned it. Mistakes happen to everyone, so sorry for not bringing this up sooner. Slice of Cucumber Salad 16 oz 5/5 Thinly sliced cucumbers, red onions, and carrots, usually dressed in a light, sweet, and sour vinaigrette. This is a favorite of mine. To me a unique recipe! Fried Wings 5/5 Nice crispy, tender, and nicely fried chicken. Deep fried marinated Thai-style bone-in chicken wings served with sweet chili and sour sauce. So tender and juicy, yummy! Coconut Shrimp 5/5 Deep fried coconut shrimp served with spicy mayo sauce. Freshly made Sangria 5/5 Cold and delicious. The Game Changers: I appreciate that you can review your order before paying. I like the digital system, and what's more important, they ask for feedback right away. I think that's pretty cool and admirable. They want to know upfront if they've done anything that made you have a bad experience. I also like that they're linked up with Toast for loyalty reward points. Basically, for every dollar you spend, you can get a reward. I really think this is a great feature that the restaurant has that I haven't seen anyone comment on, but to me, it's a great benefit for the customer. Don't worry if you don't have a Toast account; I believe you can get one at their checkout process by providing your phone number. I already had a Toast account, so I might be mistaken. Just ask at checkout, and they will explain to you. They sanitize the tables after each use. They have chopsticks. The owners are from Thailand, and they have a great kitchen staff. The kitchen team includes Chef Wan and Chef Pronyanee. Chef Wan and Chef Pronyanee come from the northern province of Thailand. Chef Pitsy (Owner) is also from the northern province of Thailand. The restrooms are super clean. So customers and staff can wash their hands and keep the place as germ free as possible. I have gone to the restaurant three times so far and I think it's the one of if not the best Thai restaurant in Boise! (I haven't been to them all) As Arnold Schwarzenegger, character in the Terminator movie would say," I'll be back."

Food was FABULOUS! My husband and I ordered the Tom Kha soup, panang curry, Pad See Ew, and mango…read moresticky rice. The flavors were incredible - very bright and fresh. We ordered a glass of their Sauv Blanc and it paired very well with the Panang Curry and Tom Kha soup. They are very generous with their portions! The staff were knowledgeable and kind - even when they were slammed with customers! We even got to meet the owners - who were beyond courteous. They have ample seating and bar top service as well. The atmosphere is upbeat and very clean. My only feedback is that the restaurant can get very busy and a dedicated hostess may help with the flow of oncoming customers.

CLOSED as of July 30, 2025…read more A couple originally from Portland (I think I have the city right) opened their kitchen offering take out only (delivery in limited area) Cantonese food that was pretty good for what it was. They operated out of one of the 17 ghost kitchens in what was the former CRAVE! Delivery kitchens in maybe 2024. (Honestly, the original owner of this original ghost complex added the naming emphasis but the original line up and the one that followed was a terrible disaster.) Now the owner of the ghost complex is apparently going to sell it. My understanding from the Wei people is they are closing now, they plan to travel (including China) for a while. Hopefully they'll come back and be able to open a bricks and mortar place. PS - Mai Thai that was also operating a take out operative from this same ghost complex after the kitchen fire and closure of their restaurant in downtown Boise announced earlier this month that they were leaving this ghost kitchen complex on July 27 and reopening in a Boise ghost complex. They didn't mention that the Meridian complex was being sold.

I was anxious to try Wei's because the reviews. I ordered three items: General's chicken, Kung pao…read morechicken, and chicken chow mein. The generals chicken was soggy and perhaps it'd be better not to mix the sauce with the chicken, the other two dishes left something to be desired as far as I was concerned because the chicken pieces were too large like two slices and made vegetables were also large chunks. Overall flavor was acceptable. I guess the presentation was a biggest problem.
