Shrimp Pad Thai (authentic hot)
Anthony L.

Pad Thai House has been a go-to for Thai food in Meridian for years, and the newer location makes it even better with a big dining room and plenty of parking. The staff are always warm, welcoming, and quick to help. We kicked things off with the fresh rolls and Thai rolls, both packed with flavor and paired with dipping sauces that are the real star. The Pad Thai is the dish everyone comes for, and it never disappoints. I usually order it with shrimp or pork, and it always hits the spot. I go for the four pepper "authentic hot." It brings some heat, but it is more like a solid four-star American spicy than true Thai fire. Service is consistently excellent, and the vibe is casual and comfortable whether you are eating in or grabbing takeout. This place has been a long-time favorite and still delivers every time. Highly recommended.

Came for lunch today and boy was this place poppin! It was so busy! Nothing makes me happier than seeing local businesses thrive! A couple of my co workers showed up before I did. They got some cold rolls started. I got to look over the menu and decided on a couple things. We were going to share some apps and then we would get our own dish. For starters I got the fried shrimp and for lunch I grabbed the Pad Thai with fried tofu. The fried shrimp was decent. There was a lot of breading to the shrimp. The texture of the breading was a little hard but edible. The dipping sauce helped. The cold rolls were good. I used to hate mint in my cold rolls but with age I'm starting to like it. I love the sauce that it's paired with. The cold rolls tasted really clean. We also had cha yar as a starter. It came with a good chunk of lettuce and cucumber. The flavor of the cha yar was tasty! The wrapping of it was rather hard. Again, once dipped in the sauce it helped the texture not to be tough. My pad Thai looked beautiful! There was so much fried tofu! It was a great amount for a lunch portion. I was so surprised. But sometimes quality it better than quantity. The flavor didn't quite hit for me today. It lacked in the flavor department. I did add some lime to it but it still didn't give me the normal flavors that I wanted. I was really hoping that my pad Thai was going to knock me out of my socks. This is probably the first time I wasn't impressed with my dish. I have had the birds nest and yellow curry here. Both have been fabulous. I just know with it being so busy that maybe they prepared it quickly to push it out. Either way, maybe it just wasn't my day. I know I will be back. Looking forward to a potential good meal here.

We come here whenever I come to town and the food tonight was especially good! String beans (medium spice) were a new order but that was definitely the best dish tonight. Pad thai with shrimp (medium spice) was my favorite of the night Yellow curry with chicken (medium spice) was yummy but we probably should have gotten it spicier to balance the sweetness better Thai hot wings (medium spice) were a new dish for me but it was decent -- the chicken skin was delicious but the sauce was kind of lackluster for me.

Tried this place again and definitely disappointed once again!!! Portions are crazy small to go for the price you pay. Containers are not even full! Will be going to a different Thai place. This place has slipped on thier to go customers. Order elsewhere because you won't feed your family with their portions.

The main complaint I have is if you're in a wheelchair or use a walker you wouldn't be able to enter the restaurant without help. The service is prompt and friendly. The background music is just loud enough to hear but not interfere with conversation. The food came out quickly the Kung Pow chicken was a little under done for my companion. My Pad Prik King was perfect and the right amount of heat.

As I sit here during the lunch hour, I'm delightfully amazed and appreciate the extreme speed of service and taste of the food. I ordered the spicy noodles (D) with hot spice. It was out within 5 minutes. The taste was excellent, and their excessive use of garlic is perfect! My only complaint would be the use of a lot of oil. So much that it was difficult to keep the noodles on my fork. Other than that, I'm in and out within 20-25 minutes. Perfection.

Quick seating lots of tables, quick service with plenty of room and the pad Thai was delicious at very reasonable prices.

Decent place and spacious. Food was good and had a good time with the friends we were with. The atmosphere at the place felt clean and comfortable, your not very close to other groups or tables. Like other Thai places, they seem to be removing some veggies and just putting thr protein.

The Pad Thai was good but unfortunately it took over 30 mins for my food. I came alone and though they were busy it wasn't packed. I would guess they were short staffed because everyone around me had to wait a while and I could hear people getting frustrated. There were also customers who walked out after not being helped on the "to go" side. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated and spacious though and my waiter did apologize for the wait. I just hope this was one of those one off days in terms of service!

Still the best Thai in the Treasure Valley. Tom Kha is not too lemony. Good curries. Fried ice cream is delicious.

You can truly taste how fresh the ingredients are -- bright herbs, perfectly balanced sauces, and flavors that taste authentic and thoughtfully prepared. I grew up helping at my mom's Thai restaurant when I was young, so I'm pretty picky when it comes to Thai food. This place exceeded my expectations. The flavors brought me back -- fresh, vibrant, and made with care. We ordered: * Pad Thai * Mango Salad * Seafood Soup * Yellow Curry * Fried Chicken with Sticky Rice * Thai Tea The Pad Thai was perfectly seasoned with great texture. The mango salad was fresh and crisp with amazing balance. The seafood soup was rich and comforting. The yellow curry was smooth, flavorful, and not overly heavy. The fried chicken with sticky rice was crispy, tender, and so satisfying. And the Thai tea? Absolutely perfect. On top of the incredible food, the service was friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

The mix of Thai and Burmese dishes really sets it apart from other places in town. The food was overall really flavorful dishes like khao soi papaya salad and other northern Thai dishes , and everything tastes fresh and well-prepared. The flavors feel more traditional compared to a lot of Thai spots around here. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, which gives it a cozy vibe, but it can feel a little tight and busy during peak hours, so it's not the best place for big groups unless you plan ahead. Service was friendly and welcoming, and food came out pretty quickly even when it was busy. Overall, it's a great spot for quality Thai food in Boise. definitely one of the places I'd come back to when I want something more authentic and a little different.

My girlfriend wanted to meet for lunch and she picked Be Thai. I'm so happy she picked this joint…read morecause they have been on my to eat list for a while. I love trying new Thai restaurants in the valley. I wish I lived closer to this joint, I would have tried them out a long time ago. I remember this joint in the late 90's being Yen Ching. Then it changed into another Chinese restaurant after. This restaurant is in such a neat venue but it with time, it has slowed down a lot. This venue used to be buzzin back in the day. I will always have fond memories hanging out in this area. Grabbing dinner, playing at the arcade, grabbing coffee and of course watching the newest movies. I had finished my client early so I headed to the restaurant. I did arrive 45 minutes before our meet up time but I decided to head in. I was greeted by a my server. She told me to sit where I wanted so I grabbed a booth. There were a couple tables that she was dropping food off at before she dropped off some menus. No biggie, I looked at their menu online so I got to see what they all has. Since I was going to hang out for a minute, I ordered fried tofu and a lychee green tea to keep me company till my friend comes. The fried tofu was so good! They were crispy on the outside, perfectly fried golden. The inside was soft. It came with a sweet and sour dipping sauce that had peanuts i. it. All together was was the best bite! I was planning on saving half of the fried tofu for my friend but I ended up eating all of it, I couldn't resist. The lychee green tea was very good! It is on the sweeter side so I did water it down a bit. It ended up being just right. My friend showed up and we both got lunch ordered. I was still hungry even though I smashed all of the fried tofu. I was debating from the shrimp papaya salad or the fried chicken wings. They both sounded so good! I ended up going with the the green papaya salad with shrimp. I got it in mild. Thai people can eat the hell out of spicy food and I'm not that daring withThai peppers so I felt like mild would be safe spice level for me. My papaya salad was beautifullyplated! It was on a fresh lettuce leaf. Everything looked so clean and fresh. It had a nice amount of green beans in it. The shrimp on top looked plump. It was a hearty amount. The papaya was crunchy and flavorful. The green beans were also very crunchy. The shrimp was cooked just right! The only negative thing about the salad was the spice level. I did ask for mild but it was really spicy. I did talk to my server about it. She checked in the back to make sure it was mild. The chef said the Thai peppers they have in were spicier than normal. She was kind and took my salad back to the kitchen. They added more papaya salad to dull the spice down for me. It worked! It was much better and I didn't have to eat ice after every bite of it. I ate a much as I could but ended up packing more than half of it to take home. I'm happy I got to have lunch here today. The food was so good! So fresh! Our server was the sweetest and did such a great job taking care of us. Being in this area brought back so many fun memories. Be Thai has officially been marked off my to eat list and will now be placed on my come back list. I look forward to my next batch of papaya salad from this joint.
