Came in for an easy dinner with my in laws. They wanted to eat around the area and they haven't been to the Hit List before so it was the perfect spot for dinner. We made our way in and waited till they showed up. The vibe was chill. There was another gentleman eating his burger. My husband and I checked out the menu while we waited. After my in laws showed up, we got what we wanted all lined to and ordered. I got the cheeseburger tonight with no bun and extra onions. I also good a side of zucchini fries. It's been about a year since we have eaten here and I remember the zucchini fries being so good! My burger looked fabulous! The zucchini fries had a nice golden crust to them. I was ready to dig in. I would have liked to put ketchup and mustard on my burger but unfortunately there were no to go packets of either. I can't really use communal sauces so I had to pass on adding sauce to my burger or be able to dip my husband's fries in ketchup. My burger was tasty. I did order it with extra onions and didn't really get any extra. I also don't remember my zucchini fries being so minimal to an order. The side I got today had about 6 rounds in it. As an additional cost, I honestly thought it would be more than 6 small rounds. It's been a year since we have eaten here. The food was good as usual. I do enjoy all the pinball machines that you can play on. The staff is nice. I appreciate that everything we ate today was locally sourced. I am sure we will be back again soon. I was excited to try Hit List in Garden City, but unfortunately, the food didn't meet expectations. The staff was pleasant and friendly, and the pinball machines were a cool touch. Our order took about 15 minutes, which was fine. The Philly was made with ground beef and honestly would have been better as a shepherd's pie sandwich with mashed potatoes and corn. The burger came with only cheese and onions on a soggy bun--pretty disappointing. Fries were just okay, maybe even a little below that. We were asked if we wanted fry sauce; one of us said yes, the other no, but we ended up with two portions at an extra $0.25 each. Guess we should have read the menu more carefully. If you are in the area of the Hit List you will enoy your burger as they are very good. I had the pulled pork burger and added bacon and it was great. Everything tasted fresh and had a nice amount of flavor. The fries were decent and they had fry sauce in the real Idaho style, not just thousand island dressing. We were the only group in the restaurant so there was plenty fo seating, which comes in the bench and picnic style. Drinks are self-serve. The food came out quick and the person taking orders was nice. While I thought the hamburger was good I would not drive out of my way to eat here. This is what prevents me from giving it a 5 rating is that if I cannot say I would drive a little out of my way to eat there then it should probably not be considered great. However, it is good and if you are craving a burger I do not think you will be disappointed. read more

Was there on Friday at lunch and there was maybe half a dozen people. I didn't care for the batter/breading on the zucchini fries, and they were $5. The cheeseburger had good flavor and I like the grilled onions. I try to support the local restaurants but not sure I'd spend $20 for lunch again and that didn't include a drink. It's a clean place with simple picnic table seating and a line of pinball machines along one wall. The background music was abrasive to me, but some may like it. Prices are good. The burgers had pretty good flavor, but were dry, overcooked, and needed more fat mixed in. The homemade pastrami is sliced very thin and is still a little dry and chewy. The smoke flavor is there, but not much corned beef flavor. The roll must have been steamed or microwaved, because it was limp as a noodle at first, and dried out at the end. French fries were excellent, with good potato flavor. It's a relatively new place, so maybe they need some time to iron out a few things. read more

I do not understand how this place has a 4.8 on Yelp. It doesn't even come close to some of the amazing burgers I've has in the area. We ordered online, so I can't speak of the place itself since I haven't been there personally. On that note, "the Classic" is listed on their website, but not in their online ordering, so I was forced to order a single and add veggies myself after it arrived. The fries were just ok. The single cheeseburger was sad. The patty was paper thin and flavorless, and it comes with American "cheese", which I replaced with Swiss (their only other option). The burger was supposed to have at least ketchup on it, but it was dry. Oh, and there were tiny little pieces of onions that I could barely recognize, about the size of long grain rice, lol. The fries arrived lukewarm at best, so we had to warm them up. They were fairly basic, which seems to be the baseline here. I tried them once, but that's it for me. There are too many great burgers in the area to settle for this, although the fry sauce and ranch were good. You'll need these for flavor. read more

What a good addition to this area! This family owned business has got it and they are extremely friendly. The cheeseburger is absolutely delectable and I think about it often, which of course pulls me to return time and time again. One of these days, I will try something different but until I do I will enjoy that piping hot and juicy cheeseburger. Burgers at other places now often lack juiciness. I was raised on burgers that drip down your arm, this burger has the strong possibility to do that. Their fried zucchini and fries are excellent as well. The seating is simple and open. Self poor soda, and yes, refills are still alive and well here. Parking is plenty. Perhaps this was an off Saturday night...walked in at 5pm, place was underwhelming in decor and empty. We were greeted by the cashier who offered no suggestions on the menu other than asking if we wanted fry sauce (without letting us know there was an up charge for that) and flipping over the register to ask for a tip. Unfortunately my husband asked for some adjustments on the burger (less ketchup, onions, tomatoes and pickles) but the order wasn't entered in correctly. No read-back to ensure order was correct and was unable to see the order on the receipt because it's only a total stub. Note to self: ask for them to repeat the order if we return. Order came quickly and it was obvious the chef took pride in his work...was impressed with the quick and friendly delivery. Hubby was pretty disappointed that he couldn't enjoy his burger even after scraping off all the stuff he detests (sorry, he's picky). He just enjoys eating a burger to enjoy a burger, not the toppings. Daughter has the meatball sandwich which was okay...fresh parm was a nice touch. I had the pork and Mac sandwich...pork was tender and flavorful but the Mac seemed to be boxed Mac and took the sandwich down a notch. Fries and fry sauce were pretty good...nice and crunchy, almost crave worthy. Strongly suggest this place capitalize on those fries and come up with a killer scratch chili fries side or poutine. Would also love to see a chicken option for people that aren't red meat or pork eaters. Got the pastrami sandwich. It had a good portion of pastrami. It was real pastrami, which is hard to find around these parts. Lean with a good smoke. Decorated with a lightly spicy mustard in a toasted yet soft roll. Fries come with the order, but substitutes were offered. Fries are large cut but not steak fries. Very good, lots of them. The burger here was not bad. I would've liked a harder sear and more seasoning on the patty, but nothing some extra sauce/salt can't fix. I feel like if you press a patty, it should be thin enough to where the dryness doesn't matter. In this case, the patty was a little thick, pressed, and therefore felt dry. I've learned to stop trusting in ratings and go there atleast once. This place is always empty, if it was as good as the reviews there would be people in it especially at lunch and dinner time. If you want to pay $17.00 for a Cheesburger and Fries then I would steer you instead to 5 Guys which is far better. This place was a big disappointment. Having a secret menu like In & Out Burger might work if you charged $5.50 for a double double like they do. Fresh grinding meat is nice but again should taste as good as 5 Guys. The food at Hit List is absolutely AMAZING! The location and atmosphere, not so much. Food: 5/5. We both ordered cheeseburgers and got a side of fries and fried zucchini. We usually like to get two different entrees and share, but we heard so many good things about the burger that we both ended up getting one and I'm so glad we did. It was the perfect burger. The fries were fresh, hot, and delicious. The fried zucchini was also fresh, hot and delicious. Perfectly crispy and delicious! The do have beer and wine in cans. One thing that could be improved is the presentation. Both of our meals came on one tray on parchment paper that was extremely large. We had to rearrange it to even get to our sides. Service: 4/5. There was a nice gentleman that greeted us, took our order, and served us the food fairly quickly. He also asked how everything was about halfway through. We were the only people in the restaurant so it didn't take much effort, but was appreciated. Atmosphere: 3/5. This is where they lost me. The restaurant was clean, which was great, but again we were the only customers so not unexpected. The atmosphere lacked a cohesive vision. The logo had one vibe, the decor inside had another vibe, and the music was a little much and didn't seem to fit the "theme". It was also a little unsettling being the only customers at 5:30pm. The location is also questionable and makes us wonder how long this place will last unfortunately. Kid friendly: 4/5. Came in on a random Tuesday night at around 6pm. The place was empty but clean. The lady at the register was nice enough but not overly friendly. Got our food 15-20 mins later. I got the cheeseburger and my daughter got the single cheeseburger, they both came with fries. The burger was cooked well with a little pink in the middle but came on a soggy bun. Burger very greasy and fries under cooked and tasted stale. I rated the this place 3 because it wasn't terrible but not a place I would ever came back to. read more

This is a really good little burger joint. It is tucked into a commercial strip mall. The inside had dark walls and cool art. I had the pastrami burger and fries. The burger was awesome and the pastrami on it was lean and flavorful. Great burger. The fries were good too. It came with some fry sauce which was good as well. Staff was helpful and friendly. I tried this before a concert at revolution, expecting not much. It wasn't until I talked with them that I realized it is the same proprietor as BBQ4life. He's a great guy, and very particular about where he sources the meats. Burger Patties were a bit thin but I admit I got only 1 patty (cuz I'm dainty that way). My cohort got a double bacon cheese (just the meat and cheese) and it was awesome! And yeah it's American cheese but for a burger like this it's the best. I couldn't get a pic before he devoured half of it. Mine had pickles (good ones), onions (not too many) and tomato (ripe and red and looked home grown). Their fries are great!!! - the thick ones, not crumbly not steak fries but almost and cooked to perfection. Prices were a bit high but for quality beef and the fries came with id say it's fair. It's just a little diner atmosphere, and has a pinball machine. But clean and clean bathrooms and great service and happy staff. I'll be back. This is a hidden gem....tucked away in the strip mall at Chinden and Glenwood...I walked in and was greeted warmly by the staff. Upon letting them know it was my first time here they let me know about the direct sourced beef and that they prepared the pastrami and pork in house. I ordered the single burger and added some bacon and found out it comes with fries. Since I was driving I opted for a Dr Pepper but they offer a nice selection of beer and cider. The meal was brought out to the spacious seating area with excellent A/C and lots of windows. Fries were plentiful and hot and crispy with a delish fry sauce and the burger was tasty and the bacon added just the right touch of additional flavor. My personal preferences would have been to add lettuce and tomato and maybe a cheese better suited to the direct sourced beef but I would definitely return again! read more

My companion and I were looking for a quick dinner and read the reviews for this new place. It's deep inside a strip mall near a bunch of other fast food joints. Don't be sucked into McTacos, Dairy King, or Burger Donald's because of their drive thru-s and factory manufactured simulated food; this is the place to go. We each had a cheeseburger that came with fries. The price is competitive but the quality is superior. You'll pay more at some of the gastropubs in the area and won't get the great taste found at this place. The burgers were prepared medium and were perfectly juicy and flavorful. They came on buttered, toasted rolls with crisp pickles. They even accommodated our special requests to add fresh lettuce and tomato to each. The fries were simply perfect, crispy outside and fluffy inside. I get tired of the little potato matchsticks they call fries at some places and the limp potato phalluses fried in peanut grease at others. You could use the ones from Hit List in a mouse-size jousting competition they're so straight and crisp or just eat them with ketchup like we did and leave with a happy tummy. Not much more to say except the restaurant is clean, well kept, and the owners actually care about their customers. Even the bathroom was clean. I know this might be a bold statement but this is probably the best burger in the Boise area! I'm serious! When I usually order a burger I get a single patty because double meat is always too much meat for me--probably due to the fact that most places use low quality meat. This is NOT the case here. Or at least it doesn't taste like it. The meat is flavorful and juicy and cooked and seasoned just right! The cheeseburger comes with two patties, two slices of America cheese and grilled onions. I asked for ketchup, mustard, pickles and mayo on mine. So if you want that you can have them add it or they do provide mustard and ketchup at the counter near the drink fountain. Hit List is a hidden gem in a hole in the wall strip mall area by Expo Idaho. The pastrami burger was great and reasonably-priced at $14 with a side of perfectly cooked fries and fry sauce. If you haven't had a pastrami burger before--think about a regular cheeseburger mixed with a bit of an Italian sub. It's really good. The only recommendation I would make it to serve it on a more substantial bun. They were basic grocery store style buns and the bun disintegrated when I started to eat the burger. The chili on the chili dog is also amazing!!! I would describe it as Cincinnati-style, good depth to the flavor, with a hint of cardamom. All of the food here has a high quality, homemade taste to it. The interior is basic and clean. Lots of picnic table seating, spread out. You order at a counter and they bring the food out to you very quickly, fresh off the grill. The cashier/server working that day was very pregnant, but she was still hustling around cleaning tables and checking to make sure everyone liked their food. My husband has been telling me about this place for months. We found ourselves both hungry and wanting a hot sandwich. They had a chicken sandwich that was not on the menu which my husband ordered.
