Any guesses on what is the white chip on the tiramisu?
    Mike S.

We loved their happy hour: 4-6pm everyday, the foods are delicious, big portions and reasonable pricing. My wife and I just shared 3 appetizers and desert. I was really full and had leftovers. I loved their $2 oyster, fried calamari and shrimp with peppers and tiramisu dessert. Oyster was big and fresh, the tiramisu was light and not too sweet. I thought the white chip on the tiramisu was a parsnip chip, but it's not, any guesses?

Returned to Corso since dining the first week it opened and had an infinitely better experience! Went with friends for a surprisingly great happy hour and we all had delicious wine ($8) and mile-high burgers ( $12). Savannah was attentive and patient, and didn't mind splitting into separate checks. The decor still rocks so I'm glad to put Corso on rotating list of HH hot spots!

I wanted to really love this place but I struggled. A newer steak house sort of in an odd location off of broadway. The vibe is a very cool almost like old age vintage type of feel. I will say the murals are kind of poorly painted but they trained their best to paint stars of the roaring 20's. Now for the food, I came with a part of 5 for a birthday dinner. It happened to be happy hour which had GREAT deals and good cocktail selections. The steaks we ordered were cooked perfectly but the sauces were awful. We order every single sauce the rest isn't makes... the Peppercorn, the bearnaise, a traditional BBQ steak sauce, a mushroom sauce, and the horseradish. All of them were pretty dang terrible. I'm used the the sauces coming out warm and all of the sauces were freezing cold. That could just be how they serve them here but I found it weird. While the steak was cooked well, the flavor was like nothing. I don't know how to describe it. The meat texture was great but the flavor was missing. Service was fast no complaints there, but for the price, buy a steak elsewhere.

The very first time we went, a few months ago, ev3ruthibg was delicious and cooked perfectly. I had the sea bass and my husband had the flat iron steak. The clam chowder was thy best I have ever had and the drinks were very well balanced. The place is beautiful and cozy and our waiter was very nice and took very good care of us. Fast forward to New Year's Eve. My husband got the flat iron again and was still excellent. I got the clam chowder again however it seemed like they changed the recipe. It was more like soup than chowder and had less potato and clam and more larger pieces of veggies. The flavor was still good but not what I remembered. This time I went with the Salmon Fillet. I love salmon, risotto and asparagus which this had all three. However, the risotto, even though was creamy, had no flavor, same with the asparagus, no flavor. The salmon was cooked correctly but the seasoning was a bit overpowering. If you mix the salmon with the risotto and asparagus, it mellowed it out but that is not what should happen. Everything should compliment each other. The dish was OK but not amazing. Our server was nice and took care of us but it seemed like he may not have been in the greatest of moods and didn't want to be there. I'm not saying he was horrible but he was not as pleasant as some of the other waiters, waitresses, bartenders and hostesses were. The worst part of this experience was that the rest of the night, new years eve, I spent a good majority of it in the restroom until about 4 in the morning. I really want to come back because our first experience was amazing but I'm a little hesitant now.

Overall good restaurant but seems a little overpriced to me. We got a steak which was good and the salmon which is yummy but I feel like I could get these dishes elsewhere. We also got the tuna crudo which was about $20 for four tiny and I mean tiny pieces of fish.

We recently checked out happy hour at Corso. The bar decor and vibe are over the top! Murphy's was our old neighborhood spot and it hasn't been the same since. I think we found our new favorite happy hour! The food was delicious and the drinks were very reasonably priced Check it out!

I've been to Corso twice now, and both times had great food and service. I love the dark, moody, Old World ambiance. Don't miss their happy hour drinks and appetizers. The fried caprese was really yummy and they mix a mean martini. The chicken parmigiana was truly ginormous but I'm not complaining since I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Very friendly and attentive service.

Love the bar dining area and vibe. Doesn't look like much from the street but very cool atmosphere. Service was excellent and all of the staff were friendly and caring. Never had to flag someone down or ask for help. Bread service was delicious. Cocktails were Yelplicious. Love a martini with blue cheese olives. Had to have the signature fries as an appetizer and they ROCKED! Seasoning, fry, potato density, and quantity was excellent. Didn't really need a dipping sauce but when asked, chose the ranch. best part is that it was homemade. Yum! Now for the entrees. Chicken parm was crunchy and a good portion. Pasta was also yummy and the sauce was flavorful. The pepper filet steak tips were good but I may have ordered them too rare, medium rare, because it was a little too rare but that was my fault. Mashed potatoes were great along with the onion strings. Will definitely return.

Thank you for asking... Our meats were not cooked medium. They were medium well. Strike 1...but the seasoning and pairings were good. We got the Brócolini. Super yum. We did let our waitress know about the steaks and she did offer to have it made again but we didn't want to wait or be an inconvenience on Mother's Day. We did get a side of the Mac N Cheese- way too many crumbles for our taste. Next time we will stick to just the broccolini. Service could have been way better. They had a waitress and a second helper. Kinda like they do at the higher end steakhouses. We saw the second waiter once. He should've gone around way more to help out. We went at 5:30 with reservations and it wasn't busy so service should've been way better. We would give it an 8/10...simply because for the same steaks at Texas Roadhouse we would've paid 1/3 of the price and way better service. Lemon drop should've been fancier for that $17 they charged us. It was missing the sugar rim it usually comes with. It honestly looked like dirty water but the taste was tasty. The crème brûlée pistachio was absolutely amazing! Amazing! Did I say how amazing it was? I posted a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.

What a pleasant evening and incredible meal with great friends. I can't say enough good things about this place. A great happy hour with top notch drinks, appetizers and shareables that are delicious and well presented, entrees that span numerous cuisines with beautiful presentation, flavor, and quality ingredients. Tiramisu was a great way to finish and our service was beyond excellent. Will be going back time and time again, so many other dishes I'd like to try!

We went to Corso Italian Steakhouse to celebrate my birthday, and it completely lived up to the hype! This place has an awesome retro mid-century vibe. Expected to see Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra slipping into one of the booths. Super cool bar too, with red backlighting, a mural of old Hollywood stars, and great energy throughout. The menu is packed with choices, from pastas to Chicken Marsala to an amazing lineup of steaks with sauces like port reduction, mushroom, and peppercorn. We started with oysters on the half shell and crab cakes (so good), then moved on to a mix of steaks, pasta, and Chicken Parm. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. Drinks were on point as well. A classic martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives (perfectly made), an Italian-style Tom Collins, and a rum and Coke. They also have a great wine list I had a Daou Cabernet that went really well with my filet mignon. We finished with lemon cake and tiramisu cake, both super fresh and great. Service was top-notch, tons of friendly, attentive staff, and even the manager stopped by to check on us. The open kitchen added to the atmosphere, and there's parking available, which is a nice bonus. Definitely make a reservation as this place gets busy! I usually don't give 5-star reviews easily, but Corso absolutely deserves it. Great food, cool vibe, and a super fun night. I'll be back way before my next birthday! Recommend!!

Amazing lasagna bolognese with a cheesy bechamel sauce to pour over it!!!
    Amy N.

This place is amazing! It has so many intimate booths inside and old Hollywood vibes. Great for a date night, special occasion, or wanting to have an amazing experience and awesome food! The cocktails were amazing, we had a Negroni, vodka martini, and Corsair's Grog. Oysters and beef tartar for an app were both very delicious. Our entrees were lasagna bolognese which comes with a cheesy bechamel sauce to pour over it and a seafood linguini with black squid ink pasta and a pistachio pesto. Both were to die for! We can't wait to come back and try more dishes. The service was top notch! I highly recommend it!!!

    Gnocchi and steak frites
    Kelsy P.

A moody mobster vibe with classic Italian style dishes! The green goddess wedge was great, the steak was cooked perfectly with a nice crisp and the cocktails were strong but not stiff. They brought us limoncello cake for our anniversary which was amaaaazing. The gnocchi left a little to be desired, potent vegetables and heavy olive oil instead of a creamy sauce.

I was in town for business, and I had a local friend tell me, "you gotta go in here. You can tell…read morethe bartender what you like flavor wise, and they will make you something even better than you can imagine." And that, my friends, is exactly what happened. I walked in, not sure what to get. The bartender asked me what flavors I like. She went away and made me this epic cocktail. She told me all the things she added, and it was clear, these bartenders are the real deal. They know their stuff. I drank my delightful cocktail way too fast. But it was so damn good. The vibe is fun. They bartenders interact with everyone and do all kinds of cool things with cool ingredients and tell you about it all. Perfect spot for a loungey date night, or a meet up with a friend. There is no food. But plenty of spots on 8th in walking distance. This is probably one of the best cocktail bars I've ever been to. ... and I've been to a lot. :)

A speak easy in Boise! I was intrigued! The whole experience was so fun to share with a group of…read morefriends! We stood in the alley and knocked on the door. A small window in the door opened and we had to provide a password to gain entry. (Initially our large group had to reserve 3 time slots and we would be seated separately.) I was in the first group. We were let into a small area with floor to ceiling bookcases. Of course there was a book that once pulled, opened a secret door to the bar within. The ambiance was dim lighting and groups of comfortable seating areas. The waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the drinks on the menu. I started with a mocktail that could be made vegan by omitting the egg white. Beautifully presented with a flower design. It was sweet and it was tart. The second drink I got was a cocktail that was smooth with a perfect amount of sweet. My friends got cocktails in their unique glasses. When our next group came through, they were led into a room. After a while, one friend came out to say hello to us. The waiter noticed that we knew each other and told my group to follow him. The room was dimly lit and was furnished with comfortable armchairs and couches. Our third group was able to join us in the room and we were able to mingle seated or standing. The different drinks that were ordered were so cool. A smoky bubble was set on top of a cone shaped glass that resembled an ice cream cone. I had a couple of friends that ordered gin drinks and they were served in a bathtub complete with rubber ducky! This was such a fun and special way to celebrate a friend's birthday! The service was superb!

I've been to several speakeasies around the USA and Gatsby should be the standard of what a…read morespeakeasy should be. No really! Imagine yourself walking through the 8th St promenade in downtown Boise. It's hustling and bustling with people and restaurants that are packed. Then, out of the corner of your eye, you see an alley. It's kinda dark, maybe a little unsettling at first. You see a steel door with a small panel at the top of the door. No door handles but a green lit old stagecoach light, a small wooden sign hanging g just beyond the door with a key on it. Hmmm, strange. In faded sharpie letters it says Knock knock on the metal door, so you knock twice. The panel on the door slides open and they ask for the password. Whoa!!!! Luckily you called ahead to make reservations so they whispered it to you. You give the password and door opens to a tiny little library with a couple of shelves full of books. The hosts welcomes you and you stare at the bookshelf knowing it isn't just a bookshelf but a door. You try pulling on different books guessing which is the right one but after a minute the hostess shows you and you enter a beautiful brick walled 1920s decorated room with seats and dim lights and no windows whatsoever. The artwork is prohibition-era themed. Heck, there's even a stack of wooden barrels that supposedly hold spirits. That is exactly the speakeasy experience you are looking for. We were seated in the boiler room, a private area which had beautiful wooden lockers with glass doors all lit up and full of booze. Books line the wall and there is an old fireplace covered with candles that have melted wax all over the mantle. In the corner is a poker table. Really the perfect vibe for a speakeasy. Glance at the menu and notice their tang of cheaper to very rare and unique spirits, some costing hundreds of dollars for a shot. Whisky, vodka, rum, gin, scotch, bourbon, you name it. But also check out their cocktails. They can even make mocktails if you don't want alcohol. Not only are the drinks unique but so is their presentation. The glades used I've never seen. Some drinks have a printed pattern on them, others come with dry ice that quickly evaporates or a cool smoked filled bubble. The whole experience was just amazing. This is a do not miss opportunity if you like drinks and cool, unique experiences. They even have another room in the back called the Garrison Room which looks like a mineshaft. I just love the thought put into this place. And when you are done, you exit through a nondescript door and exits to a patio area of another restaurant and back out to the promenade. Just a wow experience! So glad I did it.

We both got the traditional eggs Benedict... and I ate maybe 15% of my breakfast and just stopped. My husband ate all of his... but mostly because he was just hungry... Much like our Labrador who will eat absolutely anything! Haha. But he said it was only OK. He rated it a 5/10. What he disliked the most was the potatoes. They were fairly hard/tough and tasted like they were fried in old oil and sitting under heat lamps for two hours before we got them. They were very dehydrated as well. For me... The hollandaise sauce was fresh, but had no flavor. It needed more lemon or salt or something. The ham was odd... I'm a little too salty. It seemed like Hillshire Farms sliced ham. Not something you would expect at a nice restaurant in your eggs Benedict. Also, I ordered an Arnold Palmer... And it was so sour that I had to send it back. I poured like a heaping teaspoon of sugar into it, and it didn't even make a difference.... It was that sour. It actually started to make my stomach hurt a little. So I sent it back. And the waitress was very nice, and didn't charge me for it. The service was good... But they cram everyone in there on one side of the restaurant... at least outside. I have no idea why... They have all this space in front of their restaurant and yet they try and cram everybody right next to each other. It was very annoying, and made me just wanna leave. They have many tables on the other side like 10 feet away... But they insisted on cramming everybody into the same small area. And you could tell nobody wanted to be that close to one another. I'm not sure if they do this to make it easier for their servers... Or to make the restaurant look busy. Either way, it's a practice that they really should stop. My advice to the restaurant... Utilize your space outside in front, stop cramming people so close together. When you have to get up and move your chair so someone can get to their table... it's ridiculous! On a positive note... Their coffee was actually really good! Some of the best that we've had in a restaurant in many many years. And I know, I mentioned it above, but I should mention it again... The weight staff was wonderful. From the girl who greeted us at the front podium, to our waitress, and the waitressing training. Everyone was wonderful. So, to end this review... I can only comment on the breakfast. We didn't have anything else there, and maybe it will be good... But I'm not sure if I'm willing to give this place another try. Good luck!
