My girlfriends and I do monthly dinners and North Italia was our pick for the month. I'm kinda happy I waited a few months before checking it out. I know with new restaurants in town, it's the new shiny toy that everyone wants to check out. We did come on a Saturday night so I was anticipating it being kinda busy. We did come at 4 so we did beat the chaos my an hour. We were sat by the kitchen. I love that the kitchen is open for you to see the behind the scenes. Everyone is a busy bee behind that glass plate. It was fun to see everyone working and doing their part. The kitchen staff have such an important roll to make the flow of the restaurant run smoothly. The heart of the restaurant. The venue itself is beautiful. You would have never known that it was previously Twigs. It's bright, fun and prettily decorated. I adore the Christmas decor through out the venue. It was quite festive and added such a fun holiday vibe to the joint. We got some mocktails started. I appreciate that they have a nice mocktail menu for us non drinkers. After checking out the drink menu, I got myself the Just Peachy. Our drinks were dropped off and my drink looked really tasty. It was nicely garnished with some fresh raspberries. After our server finally got to us, we got some food ordered. We wanted to start off with some foccacia bread. For my meal, I ordered the meatballs and grilled asparagus. The foccacia came out first and boooyyyy did that loaf of foccacia look so good. It was perfectly baked to a golden brown and was glistening under the lightening. You can see that it was generously topped with olive oil and seasonings. You get a liberal side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip it in. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar was the perfect pairing for the bread. The bread was warm, crusty of the outside and soft in the middle. The seasonings on top added a flavorful, savory element to the bread. I could have just had that loaf of foccacia for dinner, it was absolutely delicious. Dinner came shortly after we were done enjoying our starter. My meatballs and asparagus looked beautiful and hearty in it's serving dishes. My meatballs were topped with parmesan and basil. The asparagus was grilled and had beautiful char marks on them. They both looked too pretty to eat. The meatballs were savory and rich. I enjoyed the warm ricotta on the bottom. It added such a nice richness to the meatball and marinara. I appreciate that the marinara was not overly seasoned with oregano. The sauce was bright and fresh. The asparagus wasn't overly cooked so it still had a nice bite to them. I believe it was topped with bread crumbs which added a nice crunchy element. The shredded cheese added a nice subtle saltiness. Great savory additions to the asparagus. The venue is just stunning. The vibe of this place is electric with people all over the venue socializing and enjoying their food. Tonight's visit would have been 5 stars but the service failed for me. Our sever was nice but would be gone for long periods of time. I get she was handling a few tables at a time but to be gone for as long as she was, it's just crazy. Asked if we wanted boxes and again took forever to drop off my box. Nothing more disappointing than just sitting there waiting to be tended to. You can't expect to have your guests sit, wait around for you and then expect a decent tip. I did enjoy my meal and look forward to coming back but hopefully service would be up to par the next time around. It would be nice to be able to enjoy the whole experience.

Normally I'm pretty picky about Italian food -- that's our family heritage, so it's usually hard to justify spending top dollar to eat something we could make better at home. And while the price tags at North Italia were still a bit steep ($20-30 for bowls of pasta, $20 for salad if you want protein on it), the food itself was at least very good. It's a better deal if you spring for one of the dinner plates -- $28 for salmon is in line with what you'd pay most places. Mine was delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. Our server knew the menu and made several helpful recommendations. The ambiance was pretty nice. Although there's this giant painting of a girl on a vespa with red, white, and green overlaid on it, which is fine enough I guess... but it was weird they had three of them in a row, taking up a whole wall of the restaurant. Didn't really fit with the upscale look they were going for with the rest of the decor. There might have been tables + chairs inside, but I didn't see any. They had many, many booths though, if you prefer booths.

Other than one poorly made aperol spritz- 5 stars. It's a chain, but it definitely not "Olive Garden". Order the truffle garlic bread appetizer. Devour. Wish you had more whenever your pasta shows up. We ordered a "The Pig" pizza (husband gave it a 9 out of 10) and I got the seafood pasta with shrimp & crab. The pasta was a ricotta dumpling and definitely different but not in a bad way. We got a tiramisu to go, and it came in its own little portable bowl- which is actually a nice touch! Definitely will come back and bring friends! It's a modern restaurant with a full view of the kitchen, and comfortable seating. Service was very attentive as well! Great spot for date night.

5 Stars From the moment we walked in with our group of 7, North Italia in Meridian made us feel like VIPs. The managers greeted us warmly and brought us to a comfortable spot near the bar so we wouldn't be in the way while we waited for our table. They took our drink orders right away and genuinely made us feel taken care of from the very start. Once seated, our server Kaleb took over and he was fantastic. He greeted us with a smile and gave a great rundown of the night's specials. Kaleb clearly knows the menu inside and out, and he offered great recommendations tailored to each person's preferences. He struck that perfect balance of professional and friendly. Pro tip: Order the bread dip. Just trust me you won't regret it. I had the Bolognese and can honestly say it was one of the best I've had outside of Italy. Having lived in Rome for a while, I was blown away by how authentic it tasted. Generous portion, too I made it through most of the plate but definitely wanted to savor it all. My wife ordered the veggie noodle pasta but realized she made a mistake on her end. As a matter of personal preference, as she really just wanted actual noodles. The managers stepped in immediately, no hesitation, and brought out a fresh dish with gluten-free noodles instead. That level of service and genuine hospitality is rare and made a huge impression. Kaleb was on top of everything all night, especially our drink orders. When it came time for dessert, he didn't miss a beat. We went with several of his suggestions and by the end of it, we were happily stuffed and ready to roll out the door. From the managers to Kaleb to the overall atmosphere, the service was absolutely top-notch. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming. A flawless experience. North Italia Meridian gets a well-deserved 5 stars from me! We'll definitely be back.

The place has a great vibe when you walk in; open atmosphere, kitchen visible, staff smiling, and things are bustling everywhere. Greeted quickly and at within 5 minutes with a reservation. Our server, Bryn (sp) was over quickly and we ordered drinks. She was friendly and a bit comical, really like that. Ordered calamari which was great, more of a heavier breading than normal but overall very good. Make sure to squeeze the roasted lemon over it, yum! Entrees were ordered and came, by far the most disappointing part of the meal. My wife won the night with tortellini, freshly made pasta, great presentation. My oldest and I ordered chicken parm and it was ok at best. Tough chicken cutlet, and the pasta was out of a box, couldn't believe it! My youngest had a burger off the kids menu and it was on an English muffin, also highly seasoned (that's what we get for ordering American at an Italian joint). Dessert took about 20 minutes, we got the donuts with chocolate sauce, everyone seemed to enjoy those. Ambiance and service were awesome, food reminded me this place is a chain and not much different than Olive Garden. We may stop back to try something else, but won't go out of our way to visit.

This is my second location of North Italia! This location is smaller than the one in my home town but it was still very welcoming! We had a group of 11 and were sat quickly. Foo and service were great!

It was my first time going here. I ordered the Caesar salad and it was amazing along with my cocktail. I had the pesto pasta, which was ok. I probably wouldn't order again, but I would definitely return just for the Caesar salad.

Slow learner, or maybe forgiving type that I am, yesterday I gave North Italia its third time at the plate, but now three strikes and they really are OUT. Mai più. In Italian that means never again. In this third experience, I'll assign 1 star and here goes: THE SET UP: For several days last week North Italia was sending ads for free delivery. I decided to take them up on it and give them a third time at bat even though the first two had been strike outs. In the first, a week or two after they opened we attempted to order for curb side pick up (as they advertised was available) knowing they were too busy for us to choose dine in and they were not yet offering delivery. We were thwarted because none of the employees knew the eatery was offering curb side pick up or where it would be picked up given the outside mall location parking lot was distant from the store. I extended rating grace because the eatery was newly opened and this was a training snafu for management to care for. A couple of months later, their second at bat was when we went to dine in, a 3 star rating experience only due to a helpful server and in spite of 2 star food. Now they have been opened several months and II decided to try again, this time to have North Italia food delivered and take them up on the free delivery after confirming that they delivered to my address roughly 5 1/2 miles away. THE EATS CHOICES: I am a pretty, ummm, well-seasoned home cook and I know some food does not transport well by car from a working kitchen (I once worked in this industry) to a home so I did my part as wise consumer to choose dishes that hold up for delivery. As a meal to be shared by two, I chose one braised dish of Marsala short ribs served with polenta, one (no wilt-able greens) seasonal salad made with hard veg like Brussels spouts, cauliflower and squash, and one starter, arancini, which was the only item of our dine in that we would repeat. (Living with an Italian for all these decades, I also know how to reheat them.) THE TIMING: I placed my order (logging into my account on their on-line platform) several hours in advance and specified a late afternoon delivery time, aka "linner" for us. These are typically less busy times for kitchens and delivery drivers and the chance of getting hot, freshly made food is better. THE COST: The bill for those 3 items before tax was $66. With the restaurant's service fee ($6.60 and not disclosed until the billing) and tax ($4.36) and the $12 gratuity I added for the driver the bill was just shy of $90. Just ten'ish bucks under $100. This is why I almost never order food for delivery. Had this not been a "no delivery fee" day, it would have been pushing $100. THE SCREW-UP: The order was immediately confirmed by North Italia as received. Then soon after, a text saying the order had been transmitted to the Meridian store's kitchen to be made to be delivered at the specified time. All good. Then about 1 hr + 15 min before the delivery time, I received by text a notice from North Italia that they had cancelled the order with no explanation but apology "for any inconvenience". ARRRGGGHHH. OK then...plan B, I was going to need to cook at home. THE LATER EXCU...EXPLANATION: When I checked email, as I was pulling up a NYT Cooking recipe to use for dinner, I found the following mail from North Italia. The need for order cancellation turns out to be the good ol' "issue" of communication failure between the online order system to the in-store system with the in store system apparently not working properly. (Gee. A surprise. Not.) See below. Don't you think they could have known that several hours earlier instead of about an hour before delivery? Dear Michele, The ordering system was not able to transmit an order (#XXXXXX) scheduled for today. There was an issue communicating the order to the in-store system. That means: This order has NOT been sent to the store in the usual manner... The store has been notified of the order details through a backup system but the system has not received confirmation that your order was received. Please call the store at 12085677585 to confirm.... Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience. The technical team will be investigating what happened to this order. Order Details Location: Meridian, ID Order ID: #XXXXXX THE QUESTION: Cheesecake Factory owns this North Italia chain. They have lots of experience with systems to support their businesses. Is the problem lack of attention at the Meridian store?

    Spicy vodka - gluten free

I have been to North Italia twice now, once in June when they opened and now today in December. Both times were fine, but I'm very concerned about the knowledge of their employees and their health practices. So, back in June my family went to try them out. I got the spicy vodka pasta (gluten free) and my dad got one of their gluten free pizzas. The pasta was excellent, it had a wonderful taste and the noddles were cooked well. We were informed by a manager that the pasta and their GF pizza dough were made in house. We then tried said pizza, and it was extremely wet in the center. Like, sopping wet. The crust seemed undercooked yet burnt at the same time, and upon picking up a slice it ripped (see image). We told another manager, who promptly told us that neither the GF pizza crust nor the pasta were made in house. Conflicting information from two managers is not something I like to see at a restaurant. If they don't know their own food, then I'm not sure you can expect their employees to know anything either. I haven't been back until today, when my team at work went there for lunch. The service was slow, but they were also a bit busy so it's fine. It looks like their changed their GF pizza crust as well, so I think the soggy pizza problem should be solved! We got a few appetizers, and their charcuterie board was great (I'd get it again if not for something I'll mention later). I got the spicy vodka pasta again, and it was just as good as I remember. Now. The gripe I had with the managers not knowing whether or not they make their gluten free dough and pasta in house would have only caused me to knock off a star. I like the food after all. But I genuinely think there's a health code violation going on in their kitchen. My boss got a salad. As he was eating, he discovered two slices of pear with the barcode sticker still on them. This means that at best, the kitchen simply overlooked a sticker while cutting up fruit, and at worst, they didn't wash their fruit before cutting it and serving it to customers. I know these stickers are food safe, but that doesn't mean you should be ingesting them. Washing fruits and vegetables is also basic food safety, so I'm very concerned in either scenario. Also, for the price you pay, you really shouldn't be getting tags on your food. I'm hoping this is a one-off, but I don't think I'll be coming back any time soon.

We tried the same place in Dallas and they were amazing but this place not really. Our server was really nice and fun but unfortunately very forgetful! We had to keep reminding her several times. Such as when she just took my husband's order and then mine. She immediately forgot she took his order already. I had to keep reminding her about the fan to keep the bugs away. And when she asked does my husband want more refills for coffee. She completely forgot and she finally remembered after couple times walking back and forth. We also waited for 45 minutes just for our main food to come out. I'm glad the coffee and hash potatoes came out right away but we did wait for our food for a long time meanwhile I saw other tables got their already (and they sat later than us) The food I got was okay, I added the smoked salmon in it, and at first I asked was it raw smoked salmon and she said yes and probably 20 later she asked how I want my salmon cooked. I got confused. Anyways I got cooked smoke salmon and it didn't taste good. The pasta tasted watery!! My husband really liked his, perfect spice and everything tasted good! The whole place was filled with flies so if you don't want bugs around you should sit inside.

Had a very lovely experience here! I was visiting the area for a work trip and came for lunch. I was seated right away and ordered the bolognese pasta which was excellent and quite filling. My server was very attentive and friendly and she even went the extra mile to give me a written list (!) of coffee shop recommendations after I mentioned I was planning to find a spot to do some work. Highly recommend for the service and food.

The thing that jumped out at me was the photo of the burger, now call me crazy but I think at this point I can look at a menu, photos of food and then the reviews to guide me. Yelp hasn't failed me yet! The first thing was walking in the door there were two hostess who smiled and greeted me. We were seated at the bar since there were just two of us. I ordered the Crave burger with bacon and my guest ordered the house salad with tortilla soup. Everything was excellent! The burger was juicy, flavorful, the bacon was perfectly crispy, Smokey and the white cheddar cheese was the perfect compliment! Now let's talk about the bun, I typically don't eat burger buns but this one was the exception to the rule. It was homemade obviously, buttery, light, and toasted to perfection. I ate both of them! Hahahaha! I felt so dirty typing that the French fries were crispy, just the right amount of salty and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. My guest agrees with everything in this review. The house salad was fresh, the vinaigrette was homemade and delicious and the tortilla soup was even great! The ambience was a place you could have a business meeting or take your significant other on a date night. There is literally something for everyone on their crave-able menu ( see what I did there?) Our server who was the bartender kept our glasses full and made sure he checked on us often. I found my new burger spot in Eagle, Idaho?!?! Five stars.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to order food because we had to catch a movie. However, during our visit, we overheard who we believe to be one of the owners (his photos were displayed on the wall) speaking poorly about employees and referring to them as "idiots." That alone was disappointing, but hearing it within earshot of customers felt extremely unprofessional. As a long-time business owner myself, I firmly believe you are only as strong as your team. Respecting employees -- especially publicly -- is critical to a healthy work environment and strong customer experience. It was uncomfortable to witness and ultimately the reason we won't be returning. I genuinely felt sorry for the staff working that shift. Additionally, it appeared that both owners may have been drinking while on shift, which also felt unprofessional. One of them did approach us and seemed very sweet, but after overhearing the earlier comments, it unfortunately changed the entire atmosphere for us. The overall ambiance was decent, and Alex did a great job. It's just disappointing when leadership undermines what could otherwise be a positive experience.

Every year in April after the MS Walk we come to the Yard House for lunch. The walk is at the park…read moreright behind the Village. This year wasn't any different. We finished our walk and made our way to the restaurant. This will be our 6th year having lunch here. Trying to keep our traditions alive. As a courtesy, we called the day before to let management know that they will be expecting a party of 20. This joint charges 30 bucks per person for reservations as a deposit. 30 bucks?!? It's quite humorous really, 30 dollar deposit is more than a majority of their meals they charge. The manager on duty last year told us to call to let them know for a heads up but not necessarily make a reservation. And of course that manager doesn't work there anymore. The manager I spoke with was a complete joke. "Saturday is our busiest day". We'll, if it's your busiest day than why aren't you properly staffed? "We can't just serve you in 2 seconds". Never have I asked to be served in 2 seconds. What kind of management team do you have running this joint? Clearly unprofessional clowns. We showed up at opening. Clearly I wasn't taken seriously since the hostess had no clue about our large party coming. No tables were set up. "You should have came at 11:30". I didn't know that we had to accommodate to the manager and his timing. He set up our tables and didn't even bother with us the whole time we were there. Food was good. I had the salmon. I had asked for my salmon to be overly cooked. With my new kidney, I can't have anything like fish and beef rare. My fish was not cooked the way I asked and had to be sent back. I expressed to the server if needed out more than well done. So honestly, I don't think the cook took my request seriously. Last year eating at the restaurant was a crap show. This year is a bigger crap show. So many better restaurants in town that don't have this ridiculous reservation fee and yet this joint does. Management here is on the same tier as a trash can. Honestly, after this last visit, we might consider going to another joint to start a new tradition. My family and our money is worth more than the disrespect management gave us.
