My friend and I took a bike ride along the green belt and stopped at Café Luciano's. The location is absolutely great. You can cross the bridge and be right there to it and either have patio seating or sit inside. It was a great little spot to stop along for our long ride. The restaurant is a little small, but so very well done. My friend got a pasta dish and she was absolutely in love with it. No bite was left. I decided to get the salmon sandwich it was very delicious. I wish that the bread was a little bit softer because sometimes it was super crunchy, but overall enjoyed the flavor. A lot came with a nice side house salad to my favorite part. Was the refreshing mint berry drink for it after a long ride that drink gave me the fuel that I needed back from it. If you're going for a ride along the green belt, I would definitely stop here to get a bite and drink to eat. read more

We sat outside and the view was incredible. We were there early. Only on other table and they had their food. We received our water and coffee and ordered. When the food came out only 3 of the 6 people received food. We were patient because it was starting to get busy. Then other tables were all getting food. We called a waitress who gave us this ridiculous face and rolling her eyes. We asked where the food was and she went to check, never came back. The people that we were with that received food were pretty much done at this point, so we went inside to talk to a manager. The staff were whispering and not making eye contact. They didn't care and had an attitude. We tried to talk to a manager but the girl who rolled her eyes was the one we had to talk to. We frequently visit the other location on orchard and love it. This was our first time at this location. We had an invite to come and try it out so we did. Enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking the greenbelt and Boise river. We started with the baked Brie appetizer and table bread with the olive oil and balsamic accompaniment. Brie was served with toasted crostini, apple slices and roasted garlic. This is a perfect app and they prepared it perfectly. Flat bread pizza was very good with a great crust and toppings. We arrived with a reservation and stood around over 5 minutes next to where you wait to be seated with no one greeting us even though they would occasionally glance at us (and they weren't busy). The worst part is, another family without a reservation walked in and was immediately greeted and seated before anyone even acknowledged my family standing there waiting. We have been here before and thought the flatbread was pretty good so we decided to return and try some of the other menu items. First our appetizer arrived. A fried ravioli or something like that. It had no flavor (lacking salt) until you added the marinara type sauce. Then my half Cesar salad arrived. It basically had no dressing on it. I'd guess, it maybe had 10% of the dressing you would expect on a salad. Many bites had no dressing at all and some had just a hint of salad dressing. My Philly cheese steak sandwich was also lacking salt and meat really, for the price. It was very bland. The other three items that the rest of the family ordered were the same. I worked with Cody on their catering team who got the entire dinner organized and planned out for us. The staff was very accommodating. On a Sunday in late April, my friend and I planned on meeting for happy hour. We checked the website, and it still advertised happy hour daily from 3-6pm. When I was seated I said happy hour for two. It wasn't until we had our water and menus I asked for the happy hour menu. We were told that they no longer do happy hour "because it's getting sunny." I don't like false advertising because we simply would have chosen to meet somewhere else had I known. We were there for happy hour drinks and snacks! Just visited this restaurant for my first time, and will definitely be back. I am Sicilian by heritage and grew up with delicious foods and scents around me, and this place hit the mark. If using a car to get to this place, access is via roads going through a condo-heavy neighborhood, and then there is no dedicated parking lot, meaning one has to park somewhere in the neighborhood and walk to the restaurant. The only con I give this place is that it had an overhead TV playing above the bar section. I know that TVs in your face everywhere seem to be what business operators think all humans want and need these days, but I challenge especially great restaurants like this one to buck the trend and let TV blabbery fade into oblivion. read more

They say you can't reserve a table. So we showed up 6:30 expecting to wait for a table. The front end people seemed VERY young and inexperienced. The young woman said they were busy and to come back at 7:30 (which seemed strange because they close at 8.) we put our name in and said we would wait outside. We waited until 7:15 and saw other people being seated at tables. We check back in and they said they were too busy and couldn't serve us at all. Since we had walked there with our elderly aunt it was tough because we had to walk her back and our dinner together was ruined. If they had just said there was no room at the beginning, we could have made other plans. We have been wanting to try Caffe Luciano's for some time, especially since we had previously eaten at their main restaurant and enjoyed the food. We finally went for my husband's birthday. We were almost the only people in there when we arrived, and the menus were plopped down in a pile on our table. Our server, Mialee (name from the receipt) never introduced herself or said welcome or anything came by soon after and asked us if we were ready to order. We hadn't even decided on drinks by that time, let alone food. She came to our table and asked us if we were ready to order at least 3 more times. When the appetizers my husband ordered arrived at our table steaming hot, she asked again if we were ready to order. I told her we would like to wait until we finished our salad and appetizers, and she said "she didn't hear me order a salad". Unfortunately, the salad and the stuffed mushrooms were the best part of the meal. The "baked" ziti, which is a weekly special sounded good to me. Usually "baked Italian dishes" are truly baked with melted cheese on top, so I thought I would give it a try. It came out looking like something my 5 year old granddaughter could have mixed together, and it wasn't "baked" at all. Just some ziti pasta mixed in with red sauce, and dumped in a bowl. And then the "piece de resistance" was that the pasta and sauce were cold, as was the garlic bread served with it. My husband's meal was also cold....Happy Birthday! Unbelievable!! The ambiance is meh, but it is located on the Boise River, which is its only redeeming grace. The servers and bussers could really use some more training, as this place is a joke. Read the room, understand when people may be ready to order, and stop asking them constantly if they are ready to order. They can always get your attention, which gives them time to enjoy their salads and appetizers uninterrupted. One young woman who came on shift later took my appetizer plate with my knife on it, and didn't bring me another one back. Had to ask for that. Same person also reached in and took my husband's appetizer plate across the table right in front of my face, instead of going around me to pick it up from in front of him. Did I already say unbelievable? If you like sitting on stranger's laps to have a nice meal, then this is your place! It's WAY TOO crowded for people to sit without the back of your chair up against others, and forget about conversation.
