Stumbled on this spot when coming from a doctors appointment. Its hidden in the back corner of the shopping campus which was easy to find. What a great family run restaurant! The anbience was very clean and professional with a nice italian flair. The service impeccable, I sat at the bar waiting for takeout and the bar tender never let my water get half empty. When they say they make their noodles here fresh, they are not kiddin! These were very tasty and the texture was on point! We ordered the fettucune alfredo with chicken and the spicy mac and cheese(it had a little spiciness compared to tobasco). The chicken wasn't anything fancy but grilled to perfection with a nice sear. Both sauces were very rich and flavorful and we could only eat half of each of the portions because it was so filling! I am jealous Nampa has such an Italian gem but glad they are only 15 minutes away. We will def be back to dine in sometime in the future!

My socks blew off and jaw hit the floor here. Walking in, there was beautiful low light, intimate, comfortable ambiance. The service was soft, kind, and attentive. Their booster seat was clean and strapped to the chair securely. They even provided a toddler table setting with a sippy cup. I've never had such accommodation for my daughter before. The food menu is smaller than most, but with purpose. Everything is homemade and of the highest quality. We ordered the special, chicken parmesan, fettuccine alfredo, broccolini, focaccia bread, and tiramisu. Everything was a solid 10/10. Best Italian food we've ever had. Not to mention, I ordered a chai latte and it too was the best I've ever had, and I regular several treasure valley coffee shops. We will absolutely be recommending this restaurant to everyone we know, bring family here, and regular from now on.

A delicious selection of well prepared Italian food. We were disappointed the pizza oven was not in operation. We had the Bolognese, clam linguine, Cajun seafood linguine, and the roasted vegetables. It would've been nice to have a couple more salad selections. Overall, all the food was quite good. The Bolognese sauce did not taste traditional, but it was still OK. The Cajun seafood linguine could've used more shrimp and salmon. The amount of Italian spicy sausage was OK. The service was very efficient and not interrupting our meal which was delightful. The restaurant itself was comfortable in its spacing of the seating and bar was nice.

Lasagna with a meatball and focaccia, fettuccini Alfredo with in an authentic Italian sauce, not the thick clumpy chain restaurant stuff.

Walking in, the place was bustling with couples and families both. They do take reservations but we sat at the bar. It's a small place that makes food fresh so they can run out of certain dishes the later it gets. We started off with the artichoke Asiago dip with fresh baked focaccia bread. Great cheesy flavor with garlic popping in every once in a while. Next, for me, was the homemade lasagna made in individual tins not the bulk mess of chain restaurants. The flavors were amazing and the layers each had their moment on the stage with every bite. My wife had the fettuccine Alfredo in a traditional Italian sauce. It's a thinner sauce that has a TON of cheesy flavor without all of the bulk of the thick sauces. The noodles were also fresh and very tender and not mushy. We capped off dinner by sharing a piece of homemade tiramisu. It's was delicious, with every bite you could taste each layer all the way down to the coffee and cookie at the bottom. The smell of coffee was enough to make us also order a hot cappuccino which paired very well with the dessert. Overall the ambience was that of an Italian home. With fresh ingredients, traditional style recipes, family pictures on the wall, open kitchen concept, friendly, eager to help staff, all the way down to food being served on china dishes like you were at your Nonna's house.

The food here was amazing. Homemade pasta sauce is made on site. If you have not been here, you need to go. Looks like a hole in the wall. It is anything but a hole in the wall. I can't say enough about the raviolis and there was only four of them, but I'm a big guy, but I was full, especially with the bread and the pie. The drink was amazing. the Wife had the spicy mac & cheese and it was fantastic. We were told they make all their own pasta in house. you should call for reservations. It's not that big of a place and it could be packed.

Cute little Italian restaurant. My lasagna was a 10/10. Reservations are a must if you want to eat here, so plan ahead. They were understaffed and it does take a little bit to get your food since everything is made to order. They do not offer PIZZA which was a little disappointing since online it said they offer it. Overall it was a good experience.

My son asked for the best Italian food in the valley to celebrate his birthday when he came to town. I searched high and low through multiple online sources and Italianesque was at the top of most lists. It's important to note they serve by reservation only so prepare in advance. It's obvious why...this is an experience not a restaurant. We were pleasantly greeted when we arrived and charmed by the simple yet charming interior with vintage plates and silver flatware. You are warned in the menu that everything takes time because all food is freshly prepared...and they live up to their own hype. Service is friendly but very infrequent; thankfully room temperature water is on table to keep up with refreshment, you are limited to 2 soda refills only. Ordered the cheesy focaccia bread which was wonderful, only wished that the cheese was melted more to hold on to the bacon and onions. Alfredo dipping sauce is a combo worth trying to dip bread in. They use Asiago cheese in their Alfredo here, so it has a slight tang and different texture. We ordered the meat lovers pizza, lasagna, shrimp Alfredo and pesto. Pesto has seeds which my daughter wasn't fond of. Son said his Alfredo was delectable and shrimp was perfectly cooked. Lasagna was a stacked crispy pasta between layers of chunky sauce and oozing cheese! Pizza is literally hand tossed (you can watch them toss the dough!) with spicy pepperonis and sausage. Food is reasonably priced with a slight nod to the higher side on some items but worth every penny. Best part? Son said it was one of his most favorite dinners ever and I'm so grateful for the experience.

Do I need to make a reservation?

As we are small, and never know how busy we will be on any given evening, we highly recommend calling or texting the restaurant to make a reservation (208) 996-9464. However, if we have space available, we are happy to seat our walk-in guests.

It's a friends daughter. I was able to call ahead (like noon the day of) and give them a head up. They were fine with that- gave us a "sort of" reservation. Then some church group decided to have a thanksgiving party, start it 30 minutes before our large table's promised set up and high jacked the spot. And by highjacked I mean they took nearly 3 hours and it was actually insane. The manager in charge was GREAT. She was just as annoyed as we were and they gave us free appetizers to make up for the wait that didn't need to happen on top of making sure everyone single part of our party was served fast, better than "family", and what was a ridiculously long wait ended up better than ok in the end. Compared to another similar situation at another local chain restaurant for this girls sister that happened a couple weeks ago- this was worlds apart. I would actually come back to Olive Garden (but not as a giant group) as opposed to the other place which was so bad I don't even want to come back on a date night any time soon. You didn't just make us feel like family Olive Garden- it was way better than that!

I ended my dining experience with another server finishing our service and a chat with the manager. The service we received that night was totally unacceptable. My friend wanted pasta for her birthday lunch. As reluctant as I was to suggest this place, I did. It's a middle point for the both of us. And maybe, just maybe this place has gotten better with their customer service. I arrived before my friend. I thought I'd grab us a table and a drink while I was waiting for her. Walked into the entrance. I was looked at and passed by the older server with dark brown hair. She came back out from the bar area and said "to go?". No, I was planning on dining here. She walks off and doesn't say two words to me. She stood there after she walked off like I knew what she was doing. I guess I was supposed to follow her? I feel like if you are so miserable at your job, then you should consider finding another gig. She sat me and I ordered an ice tea with extra lemon when my server greeted me. My ice tea came shortly before my friend arrived. It was humorous the slices of lemon that was served to me. They were on the brink of being rotten. The peel was all dried out. The pulp of the lemon was mushy and discolored. How in your right mind do you serve this to your customers? I would be so embarrassed as a server and a business owner if I pushed food out like this to my customers. If I wouldn't eat it, I would never serve it. Our server finally got to us and we got orders taken. I ordered spinach fettuccine with alfredo sauce. I did ask if some spinach can be mixed into my pasta. I love veggies with my pasta. For my side I got a salad with a balsamic vinegrett and my friend gave me her soup which was clam chowder. Soup and salad was dropped off first. We also go a little basket of garlic bread. The salad was fresh. It had a light helping of the balsamic vinegrett. It would have been tastier if it was dressed a little more. I will have to say the clam chowder was phenomenal! It was hearty and creamy. Beautiful chunks of clams and potatoes. It was savory and rich. It would be perfect on a really cold day. Dipping the garlic bread into the soup was the best! My lunch came at the right time. I was done with both my soup and salad so I can totally focus on my lunch. My dish looked good until i started mixing my pasta around. I noticed that the spinach I added was raw! Like, the chef made my pasta, forgot to add my spinach and just threw it in. I didn't even know what to think. How does a chef not take pride in their dish and just throw raw spinach at the last minute? Unfortunately the raw spinach cooled my dish so it was warm. I asked my server if she can just nuke it. If the chef couldn't even cook my spinach the first time, I wouldn't want him to go the extra mile for me the second time. My second plate of pasta came out. They "made me a new one". Night and day from my photos. My second round of pasta was hot, had more sauce and my spinach was cooked. If I could have gotten my first plate like this in the first place I wouldn't have had any issues. The second plate was good. The pasta was nicely cooked and coated by the alfredo. I had a couple bites but honestly lost my appetite. My pasta looked decent and I had no interest in eating it, horrible customer service can do that to me. I really wanted to have a good lunch here with my friend for her birthday. I left embarrassed that I even suggested this place. From my initial non hello to my raw spinach and sub par service, I remember vividly why I stayed away from this place. We used to celebrate mothers day here every year and even our last mothers day brunch our server was rude. I guess if you want decently priced Italian food with horrible service, Louie's is your joint. You'd think being a local joint, you'd try your hardest to keep local customers happy. I don't see myself recommending or eating at this joint any time soon.

Within seconds, I received a text that my order had been received, but not confirmed, and to watch for a confirmation text. After 30 minutes, I still had not received a confirmation text, so I messaged asking for an approximate time. The reply stated they were "slammed" and that my order would be ready in about 30 minutes. After another 45 minutes, I still had not received any communication from them, so I decided to walk over to check on my order, hoping that it would be ready. The first thing I noticed was that there were not a lot of customers inside. I informed the server behind the bar that I was there to pick up my order, and she went back to check. When she returned, she told me that there were no pickup orders. I showed her the email with my order number and told her that I never received a confirmation from them. She went back into the kitchen, then came back and said they didn't have my order, but could make it while I waited - about 10 minutes. I reluctantly agreed and waited. When I got my order, I asked for a few extra cups of sauce. The server was put off, as if asked to perform an overwhelming task. Needless to say, I left the establishment with a less-than-favorable taste in my mouth. 24 hours later, I received a text from them that my order was confirmed and would be ready to be picked up. I texted back that this was 24 hours late and to cancel the order. The reply was that their texting service was unavailable, and to call for questions. I then replied to the confirmation email, hoping that would get through to them. No such luck. The reply I received said that delivery had failed - that their email box was full. I will say that the food was good, and that the server was mainly friendly. However, the whole online ordering system needs some serious revamping. I hope that Whiskey River will take this review as constructive criticism so that future customers will have an easier, smoother online ordering experience.
