So so good! Amazing food and prices you can't beat, everything was under $25! Steak frites and truffle fries were delicious. Drinks were yummy! And I love the option to sit indoors or outdoors on the patio. Service was friendly and fast. Great addition to 8th street!

First week opened. Replaces the former Juniper. We counted at least 25 waitstaff on a Saturday afternoon. HH 4-6 30% off small plates and all alcohol drinks. We tried two small plates. The bread is divine. The garlic baguette was loaded with delectable garlic and the tomato based sauce really helped. The chorizo toast with stracciatella cheese was excellent. Both small plates could easily feed 2 or more people, making them a real deal during HH. Carbonara is made with guanciale and you don't see that too often. It also uses bucatini. The dish was unimpressive and lacked flavor. Perhaps a shallot, some parsley, black pepper and sharper parmesan would up the flavor. There was water below the pasta, so a longer draining time would help. As is, not recommended. Overall, the new place deserves a visit so more folks can test out the menu items.

The table bread and sauces were the highlight. The chicken Parmesan and the Bolognese both tastes a bit on the bland side. The service was less than attentive. It is a nice location with ok food

Great experience at Rustica! We sat outside and enjoyed some beautiful HH cocktails and the buratta appetizer. It was beautifully done and tasty. Did not order any main food entrees but our appetizer and drinks were amazing along with warm and friendly service.

We loved the atmosphere and food. Our server was so attentive and sweet, i even got a free cocktail and dessert for my birthday! We will definitely be back

    Pasta Blanco

Food Ordered the table bread and Burrata as an appetizer. The apps were good, I would say above average, but I wouldn't say a home run. I ordered the Pasta Blanco with chicken. I had imagined more of a "wet" Sauce but it was like a sticky/clumpy sauce. Not what I envisioned, but still tasted good. The chicken came as an entire piece (I would have liked it sliced and it was hard to cut in a bowl). Service Was great, waitress was on point, food came (to my prescription) a little too quickly though, but that's not fault of the waitress. Ambiance I had been to this physical location before when it was Juniper (I was told there is no relation from Juniper to Rustica). When it was juniper it (the music) was loud to the point it wasn't comfortable to speak to your friends. This IS NOT the same issue here, granted we ate at 5pm.

Was so excited to try this Juniper replacement but honestly, I was a little let down. Our carbonara was way over cooked and the dishes were definitely overpriced for the quality. The verde wasn't bad, lots of greenery and rich. The patio is nice on 8th street of course, and there is lots of space inside and out. If you really want great pasta, there are other spots to try in Boise.

I don't doubt that if you're doing dine-in service. We saw a lot of personal attention by family members spent on some of the larger tables. Ambiance was pretty cool, with a lot of Basque cultural pictures and spread over a couple seating areas with inside a larger mini-mall setup. It was a tad loud though. So we went tapas style, ordering 5 dishes and 2 desserts. Mains -Basque meatballs had great flavor within the meatball, but the gravy seemed a bit flat like a powder mix base. -Cod in Salsa Verde was a disappointment. The clams had no significant meat and the sauce was a tad bland. -Really enjoyed the Txistorra In a Blanket. The chorizo had a really nice flavorful punch and wrapped light filo. The coupled sauce had a balanced flavor with spicy kiss. -Really enjoyed the calamari strips. Not chewy with a light breading. Very fresh taste and the sauce was very good. -The Pan con Tomate with Manchego cheese were very nice. The jamon had a great cure and texture with a nice foccacia and cheese base. The tomatoes gave it a nice acidic punch. Dessert -The burnt cheesecake was a crowd pleaser. The cheesecake really let the cream cheese come through without a ton of sugar. -Tarta De Manzana was great. Firm, thinly slice green apples with an amazing crust with great body and featuring caramelized granulated sugar on the bottom. I just wish they would have put more orange marmalade on the base to bump up the aromatics. It really would have made it flavor explode.

Walking into Leku Ona with no reservation on a Monday evening, we were immediately seated by a very bored hostess. Things picked up from there, waters were brought immediately and a young waiter came over to assist with any questions and he made suggestions. The appetizers came quickly and were excellent. I highly recommend trying the Chorizo à la Sidra. It is unique in composition and very unlike Mexican style chorizo. It was remarkably delicious. On par with the chorizo on the tasty scale was the Croquetas, they were melt in your mouth goodness. The lamb chops had great spicing and great flavor. They came to our table cooked medium instead of medium rare, but it did not matter much, they were delicious and tender The absolute winner of the evening was the lamb shank and the reason for 5 stars. There was a copious amount of fall off the bone tender meat on the shank. They give a knife, but really, none is needed. The wonderful flavor was enhanced by what tasted like a red wine reduction sauce that was expertly prepared. This is a signature dish (In My Opinion). The Leku Ona salad was very nice. It featured a lot of olives that were awesome. The dressing was perfect. For dessert we shared Chocolate Goxua, which seemed a lot like a flourless torte. It was amazingly rich and decadent and was topped off with real whipped cream. Addictive. The focus of the ambiance seemed to be the central large bar which thankfully was quiet on our visit. The mocktail from the bar was quite good. The only negatives were the flys that visited our window periodically.

The croquetas were a delicious start. We shared the seafood paella and ribeye, while my niece had the kids burger and fries. Our ribeye was ordered medium rare but came out RARE rare . Once we finally found our server and sent it back, it returned much better. The paella was tasty but a little light on sausage, so our server brought us a generous side -- delicious and appreciated! The biggest miss was the service. Our server kept disappearing, even after dropping the bill. We waited so long at the end that I actually got a parking ticket. He had mentioned giving us a discount for the steak, but that never appeared either. Still, the food was delicious and I loved the artwork and photos celebrating Boise's Basque community. I'd come back and try happy hour -- with a much closer eye on that parking meter!

She truly elevated an already wonderful dining experience. We started the evening with a seafood tower, a bottle of champagne, and the beef carpaccio. The carpaccio was exquisite, beautifully prepared and full of flavor. I also ordered the lobster bisque. While I would have loved a few more chunks of lobster, the broth itself was rich, velvety, and incredibly flavorful. I would happily order it again. The steak selection is outstanding, including premium cuts from Idaho's own Snake River Farms, which was a nice local touch. I chose the ribeye accompanied by scallops, while my wife enjoyed the petite filet. Both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. For sides, we shared the potatoes, asparagus, and Brussels sprouts. The potatoes and asparagus were the stars of the table, but the Brussels sprouts were also excellent and complemented the meal beautifully. The wine list is extensive and thoughtfully curated, with fantastic selections for just about every palate. We enjoyed a couple of outstanding bottles that paired perfectly with dinner. To finish, we shared the carrot cake and the butterscotch crème brûlée. Both desserts were outstanding and provided the perfect ending to an exceptional meal.
