This was delicious! You could taste the pasta was fresh! Service was great and we were able to be sat pretty quickly. They also had a little meeting room area you could rent out. Everything I had was amazing - loved the bread and my pasta!

Great food and ambiance. Open kitchen concept that's always fun to watch. Big bar with a large window that opens up to allow fresh air on beautiful days like this. Service was good and our waiter was helpful with keeping us in tune with the happy hour ending to make sure we didn't miss our opportunity. All pasta is made in-house and it shows. Delicious. You can also watch it being made. Cocktails were great. Beet salad was excellent. We were so hungry that my camera didn't get to eat first! Ripe, juicy, beets with a whipped cheese. Pasta was excellent. Fresh, thick, and cooked perfectly. Meat sauce was delish. Will return.

Tavolata makes good cocktails, salads, pasta and dessert. Their reservations systems seems funky. Our reservation was made 2-weeks in advance, for my daughter's birthday...they weren't expecting us, but did have our reservation and asked if I just make it... they sat us by the door...the reservation had notes about our birthday celebration as well, but that was never mentioned either... until we we singing the birthday song... beet salad is banging, the pastas are generous, desserts are good, some are great!

Service 5/5 Food and its flavor 5/5 Price 4/5 Ambiance - casual, good for work dinners, but not high end I came here for a work dinner with a coworker and while the service , the food and their hospitality was amazing I couldn't help but think they could have been priced better than some of the other neighboring restaurants!

My new favorite place for pasta!! They make the pasta fresh every day, which I saw them making myself. I'm in love with the Pappardelle. Beef & pork ragu, mint, and orange, how do they do it?? It was really hard to share this dish! But let's start at the beginning. We ordered a bottle of LES HAUTES RIBAUDES Syrah, the Hamachi Crudo & Beef Carpaccio to start. The carpaccio was perfect! For entrees, of course the Pappardelle and an order of Bucatini Carbonara. The carbonara was also delish, but heavier compared to the pappardelle but to be expected with the thicker noodles. We had no leftovers to take home as it was all so good! The service was also excellent, our server was very nice. We were on a date and the place wasn't too crowded but the tables were a little too close for it to be intimate. But overall, we enjoyed everything and will definitely be back! And if you order one thing, it has to be the Pappardelle, you won't regret it!

First off, service and ambiance was wonderful. Friendly, efficient and right in downtown where there is lots to see. They have a nice patio in a wide alleyway so it feels more intimate. We got the Carbonara and the flavor was delicious. Only feedback and this is more of a preference but the pasta sauce wasn't as thick and was more thin. It also was a bit too salty than expected. To add, the pasta noodle had a harder texture than I thought it would be. Croquettes were on point as well as the cocktails

Came to Tavolàta for a business dinner tonight. I have heard fabulous things about this restaurant and I was very excited to find out we were having dinner here. Walking in, I was greeted by the beautiful hostess. She got me sat at a great table in the middle of the restaurant. It was nice being exposed to the whole experience. After checking out the menu, Taylor, our server greeted me. He got me started on the happy our menu. I took his suggestion and ordered the foccacia bread with the olive oil/ balsamic vinegar dip. For my beverage I grabbed the pineapple house soda. I did start off with the bread without my dinner date. I was hungry! The foccacia bread was delicious and fresh! It was crusty, the middle was the bread was sooooo stuff andthe top was salty and buttery. I did prefer dipping the bread in just the olive oil. The balsamic vinegar was good but the olive oil hit a little more for me. The house soda was tasty! It's not like a normal soda in sweetness. It was clean tasting. Kinda like if you added soda water to some juice. We did also have the marinated olives while we were waiting for dinner. The olives were salty, slightly spicy and buttery. Both the green and kalamata olives were delightful! The pappardelle was also part of the happy hour menu which was nice! Dinner at a happy hour price, I'll take it! The pasta was beautifully plated in a pasta bowl. First looking at it, the sausage and beef was hearty. The pasta were wide and golden colored. The sauce was rich in color. Eating it was delightful! The pasta was perfectly cooked. The ragu was rich and flavorful. It was fantastic! We ended dinner with a nice cup of coffee. A perfect treat at the end of dinner. Besides our whole experience being great, Taylor was extra extra extra great tonight! He did such an amazing serving us tonight, making sure we were ok and happy. We need more servers like Taylor. I think more people would enjoy their dining experiences if they received serve like Taylor's. I look forward to going back and having dinner here again.

At first glance, you would think it's just another Italian restaurant. After giving it a shot, we were pleasantly surprised to experience Tavolàta giving boring Italian dishes their own little twists to keep it interesting. Each component of the dishes had a discernible taste and the textures really worked with each other. I would recommend getting the gnocchi alla romana, and the chicken ricotta meatballs.

I've been 4 times now. The pasta dishes are all great (although trending a little too far on the salty side), and servers have all done really good jobs. What keeps it from being 5 stars is that the price points on the normal menus are too high. These pasta dishes should not be in ~$26/each or so. Happy hour provides good deals though. Show up between 4-6 and you're good.

My wife does a lot of research before we visit a city. This was high on the pre-trip/researched list. Plus, she knows I love Italian food. During our random, spontaneous Labor Day trip to Boise, this was definitely one of the highlights. We knew we had the right place the night before, when we tried to get into happy hour, but the bar was full and all reservations at tables had been booked. Note to self to come back. But, our great experience occurred when being told they were full, as Matt apologized for the inconvenience and then coached us on where to go instead (great coaching, by the way). We DID go here the next night, and it was an awesome experience. Food, drinks, specials, staff, atmosphere, etc. Everything was perfect. We had the salumi board, the pappardelle, and the rigatoni. Included are some pics. All were good and you can't go wrong with any of them, but the rigatoni won the food battle in my book. Sounds like a basic dish, but something they do with the sauce makes it high level and different (plus, Matt said it was his go to, and always listen to the folks who have to be there every day). My wife tried a few of the mixed drinks and loved them. I kept it simple with beers. The staff. Behind the bar was Brett and Jemsi (guessed spelling, sorry if wrong). They were personable, energetic, and highly efficient (Brett was low key cool, Jemsi was high energy cool). Our experience would have been great just with them, but we had the luck of the draw in sitting by the servers' well. THAT was where the fun was. I am sure they are great servers too, but Taylor and Bane really added to our incredible experience with their exceptional personalities and witty humor while waiting for their drinks. The atmosphere was elevating and boisterous without being irritating, and we definitely are glad we got to visit here. You can go here for fun, or a classy dinner. Both scenarios somehow work there. I would highly recommend this place, and see you there...the next time we are in Boise.

Here's some food review: The steak tartar lacked salt. But the flavor and quality of the beef was good. The duck fat potato didn't come with the trout caviar on top. It was crispy on the outside. Mush on the inside. The sauce lacked salt and needed more of a flavor punch. The curry snapper needed more curry taste but the dish was cooked very well. The duck confit was just okay in my opinion. Again, lacked salt again. The duck was fall of the bone tender but was placed on top of a miclx of mushy lentils and salad, not my jam. The ribeye was cooked well but in my opinion, a steak shouldn't be presented already cut. Would I go again? Yes. I'd take a date for a few cocktail and a nice meal. But did it wow me? Service wise. Yes. Food wise, meh.

We then waited by the reservation desk and looked over in the direction of the staff who continued talking . We thought maybe at some point a hostess, or the manager would approach us . We had a quick question as to how late they were serving , we were there around 8:00pm. After no acknowledgement from anyone, and after ackwardly looking around, my wife walked in the direction of the waitresses . My brief thought in that moment was we can all at times have a off day, but it's important to remember that first positive impressions can set the tone for a good customer experience. Bittercreek provided me with just what I needed today. Warm and inviting service and a terrific selection of food and beverages for me to enjoy. Dined alone at the bar and everyone that I came into contact with did what I expect. Timely greet and informative service personnel. Hats off to the whole team. Was talked into a Chardonnay from the Willamette Valley and it was spectacular. I usually stick to Willamette Valley reds but went for it after a tiny taste. It's what I needed but didn't know it until it was offered. Too many times I stick to my wheelhouse and don't stray but was coerced by someone who I assumed was the inhouse shotcaller. I had two glasses and it went well with the Bowl of Corn Chowder I was told about. Served hot and with some semi crusty sourdough that hit the spot. Finished every spoonful and it brought me back to my time in New England. The soup was done right for sure. Noone trying too hard which is an issue when trying to recreate a coastal favorite while land locked in the mountain state of Idaho. Right before I had.my second glass of Chardonnay, I asked "the front of the house shot caller" about the selection of Rums and was offered a taste of one that could have been a contender for my follow up beverage. No mixer needed. Would have made a great sipper, as most good rums can be but I elected for the second glass of Chardonnay. Glad that I did. Was feeling a bit buzzed and full from my meal and had to exit stage left before trying a dessert. I'm sure it would have been epic but I'm thin for a reason and don't overindulge. Thank you Bittercreek! My visit with you all made me wonder why I hadn't been in since 2006 or 2007. I'll, certainly, be visitong more often and will bring others with. You've got a fan in me!

A couple of my friends showed up first, got a great table outside and ordered a couple apps to get the party started. I showed up after goodies and drinks were ordered. We started off with some chips and salsa and pountine. The chips and salsa looked good but the pountine was definitely calling my name! I love me some potatoes and these potatoes looked like they were going to be right up my alley! I dished up a good portion before my friends got some. They were kind to let me plate first cause of my new kidney. I didn't want to be too greedy so the portion I got was a few bites. Those few bites got me hooked so it was a must to get another order started. While my order of pountine was being worked on, I tried the pretzel with cheese and the hummus plate. The pretzel was perfectly salted. The cheese sauce was the perfect addition to the soft pretzel. I took a good amount of the hummus and Greek salad. The pita that came with it was a great vessel for the hummus. It was crispy with a slight chew to it. The hummus was clean tasting and rich. The Greek salad was so fresh. All the components of the salad tasted like they were just picked from the garden. You literally can't get anymore farm to table than that! It was so fresh! The second order of pountine came out. Everything about this appetizer was delicious! I love soggy, softer fries and these fries were the business! The gravy and cheese were the highlight of the dish for me. You can never go wrong with potatoes, cheese and gravy! There was a good amount of meat on the pountine. It was so tender! You can tell it was cooked with a lot of love and time! I took the rest home and I plan on hiding my box in the back of my fridge so my daughter can't get to it! We ended our happy hour with the beignets. Each one of these goodies were covered in powered sugar. The caramel sauce that was paired with it was devine! In all honesty, as full as I was, I could have polished off an order myself! They were the perfect dessert to end this fabulous meal. Bittercreek has been on my to go list for a hot minute. I'm so happy we got to come here and celebrate my birthday. The food was marvelous. Our server did a fantastic job taking care of us! Our waters were always filled. Our cocktails were never dry. And our plates were always filled cause food was always ordered on time for us. Homie was on point tonight! The venue can't be any more stunning. The weather was lovely. We were meant to be here today! In so happy we started my birthday week off at Bittercreek!
