Percy is a "hidden gem" for lunch downtown. My wife and I went there last week and I still can't get over the amazing short rib pasta. They are in a nondescript spot and we almost walked by but thank God we didn't. From the friendly hostess to the attentive waitress to the excellent food, it was a place worth visiting. We started with their spinach artichoke dip with house-made fermented hot sauce (spicy, tangy and delicious). Then I ordered their phenomenal short rib pasta and my wife had a salad that could have fed both of us. The vibe of Percy is a mix of business professional and casual lunch with friends. The music was classics and the decor is refined with huge windows to view the surroundings. If you are ever in the Boise area, I would recommend you get to Percy. It will be worth it. read more

The food is the highlight ,elevated American dishes that feel thoughtful without being overly complicated. You can tell there's attention to detail, especially with things like the seasonal ingredients. The flavors are well-balanced, and presentation is clean and modern. Service was friendly and professional. The staff knew the menu well and made solid recommendations, the biscuit was good with the smoked butter , wish they were a bit smaller. Grilled artichoke was nice with acidic flavors. Pasta was also good , the steak was cooked perfectly but the charred outside was really bitter. The space itself is stylish and lively, with a trendy, upscale vibe that makes it great for date night or a nice dinner out. That said, it can get a little loud, so not the best spot if you're looking for something quiet or intimate. Prices are on the higher side for Boise, but the quality mostly justifies it, it feels like a "special occasion" kind of place rather than an everyday go-to. Overall, a strong 4-star experience. I didn't love my food, But everyone else did. The salads coming out, looked pretty amazing and my coworkers enjoyed them. I had the pork French dip, and there was a flavor on there... I want to almost say it was a kimchi barbecue sauce? Maybe, whatever it was the flavor was very strong and it should be listed on the menu or I probably wouldn't have got it. The french fries were good. The service was excellent. I didn't make a complaint, but they noticed that I wasn't eating it and asked why... When I told him I didn't really care for it. They offered me something else and I said no I'm good. They took extra care to make sure I got something that I enjoyed, and comped us a dessert - their chocolate bread pudding is ammmaaaazing. Three of us split it and there was still some leftover - their coffee is really good. They were hot and soft in the right places and crispy in the right places and the honey butter was delicious on them. The dessert was a Valentine's Day special, Turtle Bundino with chocolate, salted caramel, candied pecans, & whipped cream. The tuna crudo was also very tasty, but the grilled ahi was just not right. The flavor was good, and the potatoes/zucchini were prepared well. The ahi was tough. It was supposed to be medium rare, and it was close...but not quite. I had to put some muscle in to it to cut it. To Darren's credit, we told him it was good, and we ate it all, but it wasn't great. The good news....everything else was GREAT! Highly rated and accurate. Cool, long dining room with booths and tables. Love a good booth. Biscuits for a starter and they are delicious. Hit the spot since our group was "hangrry". Would be better if it came with two cups of that delicious butter, not one. Cocktails are unique and while they can make just about anything, switched to beer on this night. Half dozen on tap and bottled. They have a lot of great options on the menu. Chose simple tonight and went with the burger. Great patty and flavor, sautéed onion jam, and bun. This place is hidden on a side road with not much parking. We only found street parking. Good luck getting close to it on a busy day. I went here on a Sunday for brunch. The restaurant itself has really upscale vibes. Almost like I back in the north east and going out to eat. The hostess was friendly and sat us quickly when we came in. Our waitress was very friendly also. The menu is small and does change a good amount. Our waitress told us that it changes a good amount so your favorite item might not be there if you look at the menu online. I got the blueberry pancakes. They were absolutely delicious. Moist, flavorful and melted with not much chewing. I do wish they gave more syrup. The blueberry syrup they put on top just soaks into the pancakes. I didn't get to try the burger since who i was with didn't offer me anything from him plate. It did look good and he ate his whole burger. I will definitely come here again. read more

We arrived on a Monday night for a team dinner and promptly seated at the front round table. Beautiful restaurant and ambiance! We were promptly greeted by our server and drink orders taken. I'm from out of town so our local friends guided us to order the sourdough focaccia for an appetizer. This is the best bread I've ever had!! Incredible taste and crisp, I only had one slice but could have easily eaten the whole loaf! I ordered the salmon for dinner which did not disappoint, I cleaned my plate. We shared a few desserts - carrot cake, bread pudding, and cheesecake, all were delicious. What a fabulous experience at Percy! Food: 5/5. Wow! Every single item was truly phenomenal. We started with the corn and potatoes for appetizers. Both were truly unlike any other corn and potatoes I've ever had. The corn is like a cold corn salad with tomatoes and a little bit of spice. The potatoes are smashed and the flavoring is like a vinegar sauce and have a delicious cream underneath. For entrees, we had the papperdelle and the skirt steak. Wow! Both were mouthwatering and plated beautifully as well. I really don't think you can wrong with anything you order here. To finish we had the brownie cheesecake. Wow! Definitely a must have! I had been wanting to try Percy for a very long time. I must say I was not disappointed. The handwritten birthday card is a very nice touch. I felt very welcomed right off the bat. For appetizers, we started with the fried cauliflower, which wasn't my favorite. The flavor is really strong, but the seasonal vegetables over the Burrata served in this sort of spicy sauce was delicious. The risotto with goat cheese on top and steak that was cooked to perfection is a dish so good you'll dream about it. The pappardelle with short rib Ragu is a delicious hearty dish. It is served with burrata on top as well. For dessert, the strawberry rhubarb crisp was very good surprisingly good. I would order it again. The spicy margarita and the Aperol spritz are great. The drinks come fast from the bar. The inside of the restaurant is delightful. It feels like an upscale dining room. The bathroom is adorable, extra brownie points just for the bathroom. Percy is a great spot if you are looking for delicious food from the beginning to the end of the meal a great atmosphere quick service. This is our new favorite restaurant in Boise! we are a married couple, long term Boise residents. This our favorite ever server: Ryan! That's saying a lot because we were there to celebrate my husband's 79th birthday. We've been in a lot of restaurants with a lot of servers. Ryan was the most consistently efficient, kind, conversational, well groomed (even a pressed shirt) which seems trivial until you compare it to some other local restaurants. Ryan gave us solutions to questions, recommendations and generally nice but professional discourse. He was outstanding. We were also impressed by the cleanliness and rich but casual design style. They managed to make it look well crafted and designed without using cost prohibative materials while not showing cost cutting measures. Everything was immaculately styled and cleaned. Ryan said they do deep cleaning once a week and it shows. Extra features like brass hooks under the bar for backpacks, umbrellas, bags and purses showed an extra mile approach to design elements. The bar foot rail appeared to be brass or coated with brass. Linen clean cafe curtains hung unwrinkled between booths. Some seating had faux velvet banquettes with interesting chairs, seating varied but was consistent in each area yet blended across the restaurant, adding visual interest. Huge windows surrounded two sides, beautifully lighting the area and showcasing blooming white flowering trees outside. It was lovely and calming. The bar and seating areas were done in a faux mahogany or walnut traditional casing which looked authentic and beautiful. Liquor shelves showcased sparkling clean bottles of top shelf spirits. The drinks were superior, no shortcuts there, even though it was happy hour with buy one get one half off. Cadillac Margaritas were fabulous. The menu was happily different than typical fare. We found ingredients to be extensive and generously utilized. Excellent appetizer, we had the salmon toast with onion, dill, and several other components on delicious bread. My husband had tallow fries with the au jus Porchetta Dip, he loved it. I had the skirt steak, delicious. I was thrilled to find out they don't use seed oils! We had so much food that we brought half of it home for tomorrow! We also had the blueberry topped cheesecake. They were so sweet, they lit a vcandle on it for my husbands birthday. It was very nice and tasted good. We are an older couple and were very pleased to find this place with more traditional service and decor, while still being modern. Anyone from Idaho would really like it because it isn't corporate with trucked in frozen/reheated processed food. Its owners have several local establishments, including The Wylder, Wyld Child,Certified Kitchen and Bakery, and others. They are local, originally from Arizona. Ask for Ryan for exceptional service, although to be fair, we went early so he had time to be extra attentive. I'm sure the others are just as good. We felt relaxed and peaceful being there. In Boise for Fathers Day, and we decided to get a reservation and try Percy. Located in a new building downtown, the Percy is a towering room that still manages to feel intimate because of its timeless decor, moody interior, and classy finishes. We made a reservation for their patio, a small but perfectly appointed and positioned area on the North side of the building. My only criticism from our experience was that we were seated several minutes after our reservation time, in spite of there being multiple tables available. While I understand the restaurants need to plan for all their tables and reservations moving forward, I believe if the restaurant doesn't honor the reservation time there should be a comped drink or dessert or something. If we miss our time, we can be charged as customers, so the same courtesy should extend the other direction. Finally seated, a very friendly server took drink orders and delivered menus. We ordered their Percy house made chive biscuits with tomato butter, and a whole roasted artichoke for the table. While both appetizers were exceptional, the biscuits are a show stopper. Not exaggerating when I say none of us in my family have ever had better in our lives. If you go, this is a must order. Entrees ordered were a delicious Salmon dish with cous cous, flank steak with a cheesy green chile rice, and steak frites. The salmon and marinated skirt steak stand out as top bites. The steak frites, while prepared perfectly didn't rise to the same level, and I would likely not order them again. All in all, this is a fantastic restaurant! From the food to the service and ambience, I had very little to complain about. This place is great for date night or a family outing, but if anything the lighting could have been a little lighter. We had the biscuits and spinach artichoke dip to start, both of which were unbelievably good. The biscuits rivaled those I had in Georgia, and that's saying something. The skirt steak was okay, maybe a B+, but the lamb shanks was pretty amazing. If you have room for dessert,the carrot cake is pretty delicious but on the massive side. I love this place! We went for my birthday about a year ago and had their brunch and everything we had was excellent. Our server was kind and friendly and stayed on top of things despite it being very busy. Last week we went for dinner instead and while everything was good, my meal (the onion and leak orzo I think it was) wasn't mind blowing...but the low-lighting for dinner was a nice change of ambience and my in-laws all enjoyed their meat dishes! Ok. For starters...the starters (sourdough focaccia and Ken's biscuits) were incredible. Maybe some of the best focaccia I've had ever. The Pappardelle was amazing! Especially the short rib ragu. Highly recommend. Only issues was one person in our party's steak was overcooked but said the flavor was amazing. We tried all desserts as well and they were fine. Nothing worth writing home about. Our servers were awesome and the restaurant is very nice. Sitting 5 guys in a booth though gets a little uncomfortable. read more

Another place we selected during our trip because of the wife's always thorough pre-trip research. Good call by her, without a doubt. The place was packed when we got in, so we were obviously in the right place to be. We were lucky and got a couple of bar seats. Wife had the Black Lotus drink, and it was...amazing. Not too sweet, like she prefers. I had the Highlander "Salmon" IPA. There was nothing fishy about its great taste, and I loved it. I guess we continued the salmon theme by ordering the salmon toast. Ridiculous, and a perfect start to the meal. For the mains, she got the pappardelle, I had to try the burger. Both were fantastic. I am known to rank my burgers, and it does indeed make an appearance on the list. The salmon starter still might have won the overall food battle for my visit though. One other thing, I love hot sauce, especially house hot sauce, and fun things to dip my fries in. They supplied three containers of awesomeness. No TV's to watch sports, but the overall experience and atmosphere, along with the flawless service make you not need them anyway. Everything was tasty, described accurately, and efficiently delivered. The place has energy without bordering on obnoxious. It balances perfectly going to a nice, classy meal or just going out for some drinks and fun. This was one of our favorite stops during the trip.
