Italian sausage with two eggs and hash browns

A diner that feels like home with a breakfast and lunch options. Always love going here with my family as the menu is affordable and if you want a simple and typical American Breakfast.

Absolutely wonderful place. Cool and cozy, great service! I had a family yummy that I always have to have, Eggs Benedict, OH YEAH nothing to think about, I almost licked the plate clean! I drove 7 miles to it after I saw it on Facebook. It was worth it for sure and I WILL be back!

    Cute!

We popped in here yesterday for breakfast and it was a treat! It's super cute and cozy inside with a nice patio as well! Our server Hayes was fantastic and had a great personality! The food was wonderful. I had the beef patty breakfast which was also great! We will definitely be back!

In the wee, early morning hours, before the sun has fully roused itself from slumber, there lies a tucked-away nook in the heart of Boise--a quiet, modest establishment christened Addie's, a name as unassuming as the diner itself. One might wander through the meandering lanes of the neighborhood, past the still houses, and find this humble refuge from the yawning abyss of day, a shelter for those in pursuit of sustenance that is at once frugal and fair, a rare commodity in these times of dear prices and stretched purses. The doors swing open, and within, a flood of light, natural and soft, pours through clean glass windows, casting an ethereal glow upon the humble domain. The tables and chairs, simple yet steadfast, stand in neat rows, awaiting the weary traveler or the early riser seeking solace in the routine comforts of breakfast. It is a place where the cacophony of the world outside fades, replaced by the symphony of clanging plates, the jangling of silverware, and the murmuring voices of patrons whose words intermingle with the sizzling melodies of short-order cooks, busy at their stations, conjuring meals from modest ingredients. There is no jukebox here, no mechanized minstrel to serenade you with tunes of days gone by. Instead, the air is alive with the organic music of the diner itself, the sounds of life in its most unadorned form--an orchestra of the everyday. The coffee, weak as a televangelist's 's tears, flows freely, it lacks the rich depth of flavor that might rouse a man from his reverie. Yet, the dark water is a small price to pay for the warmth it provides, a liquid comfort to accompany the simple fare set before you: eggs, toast, perhaps a strip or two of bacon, all affordable still, though the world outside may demand ever more for ever less. The servers, young and sprightly, are seemingly local students, their eyes bright with the promise of futures yet to be written. They move with a hurried grace, their voices devoid of the honeyed endearments of blue-haired matrons past, but there is a kindness in their efficiency, a youthful earnestness that forgives any lack of familiarity. They come and go, bearing plates and cups, weaving through the labyrinth of tables with practiced ease. Addie's is not a place of excess or pretense, but rather a bastion of simplicity and sincerity, a relic of a time when such virtues were more common, now tucked away in the quiet bosom of Boise's neighborhoods. And yet, it is not without its challenges. Parking is scarce, a precious commodity in this secluded corner of the city, a reminder that even here, in this pocket of peace, the world's demands cannot be fully escaped. But for those who find their way to Addie's, who step inside and take a seat amidst the chatter and clang, there is a sense of belonging, a feeling that in this diner, at least for a moment, one can be at peace with the world and all its noise.

    You will not be disappointed.

Love this place! It's like the 80's show Cheers ! Everyone get to know your name. Heidi the owner has more than 20 years of restaurant experience and it shows. Food comes quick, hot and just what you would expect. Easy parking and good people with a good vibe. Their menu is very reasonable in $. 4-8-2025 Update, just had their eggs Benedict ! Amazing and they do eggs so good.

A Quirky, Heartfelt Breakfast Haven with Unbeatable Hospitality!…read more Egg Mann and Earl is an absolute gem. The decor is delightfully eccentric and quaint. Every wall features a fun mix of unique pictures, oddities, and diverse styles. It creates an energetic, fun, and visually engaging atmosphere the moment you walk in. The service here is next-level and full of personality. While waiting for my table, I watched the staff serenade a guest with an accordion for their birthday. They were singing to another table right after. It was incredibly cute and heartwarming. Once seated, I noticed a personalized sign with my name written on it at the table. That small, thoughtful touch immediately made me feel welcome. The culinary experience matches the fantastic ambiance: *Drinks: I started with a guava mimosa. It was perfectly balanced, crisp, and refreshing. *The John Denver Omelette: This dish features sausage, diced ham, onions, bell peppers, and pepper jack cheese. The blend of savory flavors and slight cheese kick was outstanding. *Surprise Treats: While waiting for my omelette, the staff brought out a complimentary scone. It arrived hot, fluffy, covered in powdered sugar, and completely delicious. *Past Visits: Their biscuits and gravy are excellent. They lean slightly on the sweet side but taste wonderful. On another trip, a helpful server recommended the Eggs Benedict since I had never tried it. While it ultimately proved a bit too heavy for my personal taste, it was prepared beautifully. The recommendation pushed me to be adventurous! *Sides: The bacon, hashbrowns, and roasted red potatoes are consistently seasoned to perfection and delicious. Before leaving, I noticed they even sell their own merchandise. They have branded hats and beanies available if you want to rep this local favorite. Between the top-tier hospitality, vibrant energy, and delicious food, I am definitely going back for more. Highly recommended!

The food is incredibly well seasoned and thoughtfully prepared, and I love that many of the dishes are uniquely served on cast iron plates -- it adds both character and keeps everything hot from first bite to last. The portions are no joke either. We ordered the Big Boy Omelette with their house potatoes and a BLT with fries, and both were outstanding. Everything was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and plated in a way that made it feel like more than just your average breakfast. At one point, I had to stop and ask another patron what they ordered because it completely filled their plate. It was the chicken-fried steak, and they told me it was cooked perfectly. I can eat -- but there is no way I could finish that chicken-fried steak by myself! The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server, Audrey, was on another level of fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, efficient, and genuinely made the experience better. Be prepared to wait -- it gets busy for a reason. The quality, portions, and service clearly draw a crowd, so plan ahead when going for breakfast. We will absolutely be back -- and we hope all the servers are like Audrey!

We had a different server than our usual this time and she was fantastic. I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out. I took away a star because the food wasn't as great as the last few times I visited. The eggs were overcooked (kind of dry and almost rubbery) and the hash browns were under cooked in the center. Now, if you've read my previous review, youd know how much i absolutely LOVE their pancakes - and I've made it my go-to spot for breakfast because of it. Well, either they changed the recipe or someone messed up this batch. It was nice and fluffy, but bland. That signature deliciously buttery flavor was nowhere to be found. I kept taking bites hoping my tongue was deceiving me... but there were no lies. Just disappointment. This is definitely a deal breaker. Maybe I'll try one more time. If it was just a one-time fluke, I'll update this review and stars. :::sigh:::

So, I don't weep for their need to re-evaluate but realize fans will be disappointed. From the letter on door: "As many know, there has been a significant slowdown in consumer spending, especially in restaurants starting late 2024. We've done our very best to keep prices in line with what makes sense to cover costs and provide full benefits for our amazing staff," the letter said. "However, with sales down across all entities this year, we must re-evaluate our operations and make the necessary difficult decisions to be a sustainable business. Also, for the first time in many years, we recently lost two key people in our organization, and they both were a large part of what made Wild Root special. It's been over 20 years since I have eaten here. How crazy that time has truly flown by so fast…read more Moving to different states, new restaurants that have opened by us or the fact we live across town, just a couple reasons to why I haven't been in. But lucky for me, my husband and I were in the area so of course we had to make our way in for brunch. We showed up 45 minutes til close. There was about a 25 to 30 minute wait. We decided to tough it out and kick it. I did ask if we would still get served since we will be sat towards closing. They said yes so we waited. There would be a wait anywhere else so why leave. I just found it so kind that they would be willing to still take us with the restaurant closing soon. It was busy which makes me so happy. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a local business thrive. While hanging out, I was admiring the fun antiques that were decorated all over the restaurant. Talk about history and charm to this joint. Vintage cans, old cooking utensils, old school packages of Spam. There's so much history in this little venue. It's truly incredible to look at and appreciate. We were finally sat 20 minutes til closing. We got some coffee and apple juice started while we checked out the menu. After drinks were dropped off, we quickly ordered our food. My husband got chicken fried steak and I got the works omelet without the sausage. I believe they replaced it with extra ham. Food came out rather fast since we were the tail end of the day. And boy did everything look so good! My omelet looked massive. I was starving so I was so happy that it was big! The omelet was stuffed with green peppers, onions, ham, bacon and cheese. I also got a hearty side of hashbrowns. My husband got his country gravy that came with his country fried steak on the side for me. I was able to add it to my hashbrowns and omelet. Country gravy and hashbrowns is a top tier combination. And today's gravy and potatoes was money! My omelet was perfection. The onions and green peppers were nicely sautéed. There was a great amount of ham and bacon. The eggs were nicely cooked! Cheese that was in the middle was nice and melty. I ate the whole thing! Did I regret it later, yes but it was worth it! I finished half of my hashbrowns. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, these hashbrowns were fantastic! And the country gravy made them that much tastier. My husband enjoyed his breakfast. I most definitely enjoyed mine. Service was fabulous. Coffee was hot and always filled. Today's visit was truly fantastic. I heard that this joint is moving to Orchard. I look forward to coming and checking out the new venue. I know I won't be waiting another 20 years to come back. The food and the service was too good not to come back soon. I look forward to another omelet and one of their huge ass cinnamon rolls!
