White Dog Brewing was recommended to me as a place my social group might want to visit due to the menu and size of the venue which could easily host my group of about 25. I worked with Hanna to confirm a date and time and agreed the patios might work well for us which worked out great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patios might was shaded and quite comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I thought the service was good and the blood orange ale and basic burger was very very good. We happened to see photos being taken of the specials for Thursday which was bbq ribs and slaw. We were advised to come back on Thursday for them. The ribs looked so tasty I had to visit the next day and it was worth the wait. The ribs were very moist, smoky and very tasty. The slaw was prepared different from what I'm used to but I couldn't stop eating it. They supplied a mild bbq sauce for the ribs but you really don't need sauce on the ribs at all even though the sauce is flavorful. I have to admit the baked potatoes were unique and tasty as well. Bottom line I'll be returning as I am now a fan. You'll be a fan too should you also visit White Dog. read more

Refreshing take on open concept brewing! Brought our fur babies of course and they were welcomed without hesitation! The food was very tasty and no "leftovers" survived! The people were so friendly and the vibe was relaxed. We celebrated our 15 year anniversary there and they were so amazing and the bartender made us feel the love! Happened upon this place on a walk to another brewery and couldn't help but stop in for a drink and I'm soooo GLAD we did! This place is AMAZING and the staff is friendly and welcoming! They have a drink for everyone and they also offer food which looked amazing. I got a beer flight and I enjoyed every beer. The hefeweizen was my fave! All beers finished well and I love the ice bar! Walked 6 miles & came in for reward. Love my west coast IPA's and White Dog did not disappoint. Also tried their Citraic which was very good & crispy. With so many breweries in and around downtown Boise it can be hard to pick one. We chose to come here because they had a good variety of beers on draft and also served food. Not to mention all the pictures of dogs on their Yelp page...though we sadly didn't see any while visiting. We were greeted with the warmest welcome from the bartender who was holding the place down. Wish I got his name because he was so friendly and gave the best service. The space is pretty large with lots of tables, some high tops, booths, and bar seating. You can also see into the brewing room and watch them make the beers. They have flights and pints, one in our party went with a flight and the rest of just got a single beer. None of us loved the beers we got, so we just stuck around for the one, but they were still enjoyable enough. I had gotten the blackberry sour which had a really nice sour flavor on the front end, but kinda fizzled out on the finish. My boyfriend got the pineapple IPA which I actually ended up liking more than my sour. To eat we ordered the soft pretzel and white dog fires. I don't normally like soft pretzels, but this one was actually amazing. It was so soft, and not kinda soft but still hard like most soft pretzels are, no this one was created different. read more

Service was phenomenal! Logan is a fabulous & knowledgeable server with a fantastic personality. I had the shotgun shells appetizer- sooo good with a kick for sure. Hubby had the chicken street tacos which he said were very good. I failed to take a photo . The Blood Orange Hef was really good & the Pineapple IPA! Fabulous!! White Dog Brewing really provided me with a great beer experience at this location. I got several cream ales while visiting breweries on a recent road trip and the Vanilla Cream Ale I got here was phenomenal! The grainy, sweet and of course vanilla flavors combined themselves together so very well and was very refreshing. Nice and light this Cream Ale I could have easily had another pint of but I restrained myself. I highly recommend giving this brewery a try. They have two different locations in the Boise area which makes the brewery perhaps more reachable. I had excellent service here and would love to come back again. I would be tempted to (and did try a different beer at the other location) try other beer here but if that Vanilla Cream Ale is an option I may just not be able to waver in getting it again. read more

Awesome place run by really nice people serving bomb food and booze. The Pineapple IPA was so good I had to ask for a second one! Hubby and I split the Beer & Bacon Burger (6 oz beef patty, house sliced bacon, scotch ale bacon sauce, bourbon bacon jam, beer onions, cheddar sauce on a toasted brioche) and honestly, shoulda ordered my own. It was massive but absolutely delicious and mouthwatering. It was cooked perfectly, (looks a little done in the pics but definitely served medium as requested), juicy and generously seasoned. The bacon jam really makes the whole thing chef's-freaking-kiss. I'm thankful they piled it on there. By the time I finished my half and I hoping my husband would share his portion with me - and he was thinking the same thing. We also split the White Dog Fries (hand cut fries with cheddar sauce, bacon and green onions), and while they were great, I would have been equally fine with regular fries and they could have used more of the goods considering they were +$4.00. Nonetheless the meal was great and I'll round my 4.5 up to 5 because Google says I have to. Service was great, atmosphere was welcoming and fun! The space is huge, so seats are able to be nicely spaced apart. We'll be back and I'll have to sample a flight this next time around. And get my own damn burger. read more

As a brewery, White Dog is just phoning it in -- I've had a couple of flights, and there isn't a beer on their menu that could be rated better than middle-of-the-road. The food, OTOH, is incredible. I've had both the brisket burger and the German meatball sub, and both were excellent. Heck, the meatball sub was more than excellent -- who knew a sweet sauerkraut would work so well on a sandwich? Just don't waste your time on the appetizers -- half the cost of an entree for far less than half the food. Service is both friendly and fast, and the ambiance of both the indoor and patio seating areas are excellent -- just depends on what you're looking for. My take -- the beer is OK enough to wash down the food, but the food is the star of this brewery. read more

White Dog Brewing is a great place. Their craft beers are super good. I loved their Pineapple and Vanilla Cream beers. So yummy. I had the pulled pork street tacos and they were SOOOOO good. I had that with a flight of beer that my server helped me with. The people who work there are very nice and helpful. Before I left Boise, I bought a six pack of Pineapple Beer and a six-pack of Vanilla Cream beer and stuck in my luggage. The only problem I have is that I wished that I could order and have some of that super pineapple and vanilla cream beer shipped to California. read more

Though the quality/deliciousness of food and the cleanliness of a restaurant are big factors in deciding whether or not I like a restaurant, the friendliness of staff is key...and White Dog has the nicest staff in town along with amazing food (burgers and fries to die for) and a cheery, clean ambience. I did not get the name of the staff person that greeted me and took my order, yet he was the most pleasant guy and made me feel comfortable and welcome as a solo patron. Loved this place so much! Ordered the fried cheese curds which were so delicious. Our waiter recommended the Nashville Chicken sandwich which was AMAZING. Had perfect seasoning, flavor, and crunch. Highly recommend. Only thing was not a fan of was the white dog cheese fries. The fries are good but the cheese was too thick for my liking and was more of a paste texture. If hotter would maybe help. They have a small dog friendly patio that looks out into the creek. They also sell their merchandise that's cute. The service and staff were friendly and great. We came here during Treefort not expecting much due to how busy it was. Not only did we get a table quickly, Aaron went above and beyond! He split our food for us, even though we did not ask him to, and was extremely friendly and jovial, which is hard to do when you have such a huge crowd demanding so much of you. Two years in a row with great beer, food and service. This is a second trip to Boise. Both times White Dog Brewing has had a great selection of quality beer. If you like fresh this is the place, whether it is the beer or the food. The 0 IBU Pineapple IPA was pretty amazing. All the IPA flavor without the hoppy bitterness at the end. I was a huge fan of this place, my husband not so much. He had the Marionberry cider which was the perfect bit of sweetness without being too tart. My husband had the west coast IPA. We split the loaded fries (don't remember what they were actually called). I thought they were amazing but my husband wasn't the biggest fan. They had an amazing 80s playlist going, so while my husband watched March Madness I just jammed out to the music. It's in a nice location, being right next to the Boise Zoo. We hit this brewery while in downtown Boise. It was a close walk from Bavarian Brewery which we had just left. We are glad we tried out this new to us place. We had a couple of their tasty beers. Sat at the bar with the regulars and made new friends. White Dog has an awesome vibe. Pro tip!!! They serve food there. Try the jalapeño popper egg rolls, omg they were fantastic. One short afternoon left to us in Boise so White Dog Brewing is logged as brewery #231 for me. WDB has a big taproom with plenty of seating. Their beers are very traditional in style without any hokey stuff at all. SWPFTD went with the Irish red ale. Shocking! I went with a flight including the vanilla cream ale, the amber ale scotch ale, and the Irish stout. Have I mentioned I really like it when breweries give clever names to their beers? No clever names here. That's ok though as the beers were all very solid. All were true to style and just plain good. No weird adjuncts. No covering up off flavors with fruits or spices. Just honest flavorful brews! The vanilla cream, Irish red, and scotch ale stood out for me though. Inside out: parking can be a little hellish but it's a PERFECT summer relaxation spot. The three bars next to each other are lovely and the roll open front doors are amazing. The tables and layout are friendly for groups or date night! They have a little gift shop full of interesting things and their own swag which was amusing but a little pricy. Food and drink: they have a food truck and I had the tofu tacos and my husband had the meatiest burger they had. Mine were delicious, as he said was his. The plates were a super cute wood slab! The beer is fantastic and they have root beer on tap for non drinkers that tasted like the memories of root beer floats in childhood. The serving size on the food for tacos is pretty freaking small for the price so I advise not thinking you'll fill up. The staff: they seemed a little short staff but they rocked it! Stopped in with a couple of friends for beers and dinner tonight. My friend was disappointed they did not have a stout or porter available, but he enjoyed the Scottish ale. He wasn't so hot on the strawberry IPA - not enough flavor. I had two blackberry sour ales. Very good, I liked the amount of sourness and the berry flavor and color was spot on. Two of us had the spinach salad with steelhead, and it was superb!! I would have liked a little more fish, but it was a good portion for the price. The third in our party had the chicken wrap which he thought was OK, but the fries were to die for. Seriously, they are like cuts from a baked potato with nice potato skin flavor.
