Wonderful service, great beer, and good food truck food options. Genuinely nice staff too! We are going to become regulars!!

Great spot just off the green belt! The staff (Jamie) is friendly and efficient and the selection of beer is wonderful. The outside patio is perfect with lots of Bike parking. Clean, neat and great music. Not much else you can ask for? Oh: even provided us a deck of cards!! read more

Thank you for being a part of the 2026 IW Hike. Amazing establishment with great drink options and prices are very reasonable. Hope that you are part of IW 2027 because I would return once again. Great visit to Boise and this is a great place to visit for that brewery feel. read more

Barbarian Brewing - Table - Breweries Near Me - Garden City, Idaho

We had a great experience overall. Shannon was knowledgeable, kind, and attentive, and we really enjoyed the Hey Arnold Sour, Kölsch, and Pilsner. The patio and atmosphere were lovely. Unfortunately, the evening ended on a sour note. BJ was distracted chatting with a coworker and not paying attention to the line. After the person at the register was helped, I stepped to the side (there were two tills) to close my tab. I greeted him politely, but was met with an eye roll and told I had to go to the back of the line because he assumed everyone had arrived at the same time. As someone with industry experience, I found this attitude frustrating--especially since the issue seemed to be a lack of awareness on his part. When I explained I had been waiting, he gave a brief apology and rushed through the transaction. It's disappointing when great service and atmosphere are overshadowed by a negative interaction like this. Might be worth reminding him of rule #5 that's listed on the chalkboard when you enter. read more

Listen- if you're looking for a place to come hang out, listen to good music, and have a nice beverage, Barbarian checks ALL the boxes! When I say they have something for everyone, I mean it! Every type of beer, ciders, wine, slushies, non alcoholic drinks, seriously you name it. Whoever their brew master is seriously a genius. His flavors are to die for and my husband always rants about their hazy IPA (Kia Ora is his favorite). The bartenders there are all so lovely and just make for such a great atmosphere. I was personally not the biggest fan of Jokers (don't like BBQ), but Crispy Business was great; get the nachos!!! Definitely in my top 5 favorite breweries in the Valley read more

This is by far my FAVORITE brewery in Boise for a few reasons: they have wide selection of beers, their beers are the tastiest and most consistent in Boise, they have multiple locations and the 2 that we have visited were great, and they have great SWAG! The staff is super friendly, nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. SWAG: They have a wide selection of swag from shirts to hats to zip up hoodies to metal tackers. We collect the metal tackers and this was the first brewery in Boise where we were able to find one and it's awesome! Prices are reasonable too. TO-GO: They have quite a few options. Just ask. If you're in the area, check them out! You WILL NOT be disappointed, I promise! read more

Barbarian Brewing was a cute little brewery in Boise. We enjoyed sitting on the patio in June. It was a bit chilly for me, so I had a sweater, but everyone else seemed to handle it just fine! The bartenders were so kind. They gave amazing recommendations! My favorite was the orange creamsicle! Overall, a cool place to come hang out with friends read more

Inside out: this place has ample parking front and back, the atmosphere inside can get a little loud, but they have quite a bit of variety of seating. Outside has tables with umbrellas and misters for a comfortable place to lounge. Hopefully you like dogs because dogs are welcome here and there are plenty of cute ones to pet every time I've been! Service: fantastic every single time. Food/drink: the Joker barbecue in the back is some of the best things I have ever eaten, and the brews here have something for everyone, including mock tails! This place really has it all and a fun environment. The murals are neat and one of their bartenders is an artist that makes incredible Cryptid pictures. I would really like to get on a shirt! Over all: get there and bring your friends, also please make shirts with the cryptid pictures (and other merchandise ) read more

Great place for beers and hanging out with friends. Lots of interesting beer options. And for those who aren't beer drinkers there are a few cider and wine options. Employees were great and very helpful in making suggestions. They don't serve food, but seem to have a food truck most days. It was too cold for us to sit outside, but their patio looks really nice and definitely will be back to enjoy that. Dog-friendly, which was super fun for my group - we're all major dog lovers. read more

Awesome spot! We biked around the Greenbelt area and then stopped at this brewery towards the end of our ride. They had such a fun selection of beers and sooo many sours - which I love! The service was exceptional. The staff were super nice and helpful. The person working even left the bar area to help us bring our drinks to a table outside since our hands were pretty full. read more

Barbarian I believe was my most favorite brewery that I paid a visit to when passing through Boise on my trip. For one the atmosphere and staff are great and the beer is nothing short of fantastic. I have had two beers thus far from Barbarian and was very impressed with both of them! I had the American Wheat when I was there and enjoyed it considerably but I wanted to bring home a can of their beer for Steve to try and so I bought the Tarte De Queso which was a Berliner Weisse style beer with a creamy flavor as well as raspberry and pomegranate highlights to it. And this is where my heart truly was oriented towards as it was a very excellent beer and was glad that I made such a choice and Steve affirmed that as well. Definitely would love to go to their taproom whenever I'm in Boise. read more

Love this brewery! Great service and great experiences every time we come here! Love their beers and the big hang out spots out back!!!

Hands down best brewery in town. I used to frequent the downtown location more, but the GC location has become my new fav. Love the openness, and quick access to greenbelt/river. This location is also dog friendly! In addition to great beer selection they have THE best staff in town. You know the owners treat their staff well when the large majority have been employed for YEARS here. It's a great feeling when you walk into an establishment and the staff greats you by name :) They really do have the most unique beers in town, with an every changing tap list. As a sour lover, you just can't go wrong here. If you are deciding on breweries to try because there are so many in town, this is it!! read more

Wonderful brewery that has something for everyone! I'm a big craft beer nerd and enjoy doing flights, but they have so much to try here in Barbarian brewery that I'll need to come back for more! Their sour and IPA selections are amazing. Their imperial stout with peanut butter is also worth coming back for. Also, not my favorite style, but as a Czech native, I have to give them credit for their well executed Golden ale. So much to enjoy here. Seriously! Haley (I hope I'm spelling her name right) was fabulous and very helpful in giving recommendations and explaining ingredients added to their delicious brews. I'll be back for more soon, no doubt. read more

Barbarian Brewing - a glass of beer on a table - Breweries Near Me - Garden City, Idaho

"Each brewery provides it's own gifts." - Marcus Aurelius (paraphrased slightly) This is brewery visit #199 for me and the second one today. The things I do for Yelp... We decided to stop at Barbarian primarily because it had an awesome name. It always surprises me when breweries choose mundane, boring names. Let's be honest, names draw people in and this one did. BB has a nice big taproom with roll up doors to outside seating. The weather was great so I picked up a flight of 6 while my colleague got himself a pint. I'm not going to review the beers individually since I had company, but I didn't leave any in the taster glasses. I followed it up with a glass of the Scotch ale, which was quite good. BB had really good beers, with a huge variety. Not only some solid traditional styles, which I always like to see, but also some more creative and wilder beers. I mentioned the awesome branding of Barbarian Brewing, but I think they missed the boat in not following that great name up with better decor, t-shirts, etc. They could really take the branding to the next level with a little bit of effort and creativity. BB is well worth a stop, and apparently there are two locations. When I make it back to Boise with SWPFTD we will be sure and stop in. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! yelp.com/collection/-8is... and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you! read more

We LOVE this place! The beer tenders are SO friendly, Knowledgeable, and they made our whole afternoon! We're here visiting our sisters from Denver and stopped in because we remembered loving the downtown location last time we were here. I had the Thai rice lager, and ended up having three or four of them. Deeeeelicious! We probably spent 4 hours here. Can't wait to come back! The vibe is just so chill and relaxed, and Johnny made us his own blend of something... can't remember what it was, but whatever it was, it was bomb. Thanks for letting us crash your space for the afternoon! read more

What a fabulous place to sit, mingle, play a board/card game, relax, play video games all while drinking beeeeeeeer! Whoop! Whooop! Barbarian is a destination beer joint in Garden City (there is one downtown too that rocks). Each time I am here the place has been 90-120% packed. We have always been lucky to find a table but during prime time (times vary I am sure) you might be standing to mingle or you might be checking the side patio for a spot. Speaking of the side patio. They have done a great job at creating a good space to hang. In the afternoon it is fully shaded and a really nice place to sit to enjoy that drink or a drink and a bite. (A food truck has always been there when I have been here but I don't know the schedule, call to ask if there is food if you are hungry.) Beers are really fun to try! Barbarian has some eclectic options so I suggest branching out to dabble in something new. They are always willing to pour me half beers which helps me taste all the different flavors. For example, try the Unicorn beer (a skittle sour), Odin's Table Bier or maybe you want to try the Mint Lime Gose or mayyyyybe you want to get real wild and try Dat Cookie Dough Stout- yum. You will definitely find a beer you can jive with or two, or three but how can you do that if you don't go? You are saying- she is right, I better get to it! read more

The beer was great. We had rode our bicycles on the Boise River Green Belt for 3 hours. The tangerine radler was amazing. Perfect after a long ride. read more

One word: priceless. With their wide array of draft beers, you can easily try any one free-of-charge prior to ordering. They have a great selection with top-notch brewing. In particular, they have plenty of good sour beers including the "Pinot Noir" and the "Artio2." Try both of them, no matter your taste preferences. My buddy ordered the Persophome Porter which was his favorite beer. Really something for everyone here. As part of the experience, I ordered a flight of 6 beers, poured into small glasses on a board with charcoal-written labels. They will also allow you to order Mexican food from next door (Calle 75) and down their delicious tacos up at the bar. On several nights throughout the week, they also play quizzo and have many board games to keep you entertained. Our bartenders- Corbin and Christie- were AWESOME. They sat and chatted, exchanging stories. Very laid back and friendly. And in my view, made the whole experience so unique. Hit this place up in Boise, totally worth it! read more

Hands down, best brewery in Boise! They are constantly changing their selection of beers, which makes it fun. Very large selection of beers as well. Bartenders are always friendly. Dog and kid friendly spot. They typically have a food truck in the back as well. I do like this location a little better than the downtown location but strictly because it's got more room. Keep up the great work here guys. read more

I've always loved Barbarian for their selection of sours so I was excited to check out the new tap room location. Only downside - no dogs allowed indoors. This wouldn't have been an issue if it wasn't 105 degrees yesterday. I was a little bummed out because at their old location dogs were allowed indoors. The outside area is nice with lots of shade but the black pavement wasn't ideal so I would go back on a cooler day but it won't be my first choice. read more

Tried this brewery today. We thought we had tried all of them in town. They have a lot of different kinds to sample. My favorite (most alcohol % as well) was the Reserve Morrigan 2021. It is aged in wine barrels and has one of my favorite grapes. It reminded me of a port wine. Definitely worth checking out if your a beer drinker. read more

Kids are allowed in theory but not welcome. We love restaurants and breweries but the bartenders are apparently too cool for school. We had a 1 and 4 year old playing and so many complements for how cute they were and kind playing nicely near the door, no screaming just giggling, and they told us to get out kids in a seat because "it was a BAR!" Very disappointing experience read more

Been picking up four packs here during covid so we haven't been to the tap room. Most all of the beers we've tried have been great. Seems like a common theme for this brewery. Parents with children are not welcome. Multiple reviews of rude management and staff towards anybody that brings their kids to this brewery. If you don't want families at the brewery then just put a sign out front. I've never been to a brewery with so much animosity towards children. If your kid walks or talks then either leave the establishment or put a screen in front of their face and make sure they don't make eye contact with the staff. Such a shame being so close to the greenbelt and Boise being such a family friendly place to live. read more

They never have any light beers that don't have something weird added. They had one seltzer tonight and it was so sour it tasted like lemon juice. Why do all the beers have to have some strange flavor? I've been here five times with big groups and none of us can find one beer we like. :( read more

They have quit the selection on beers. Their Wheat Beer is as good as it gets for a Munich Style Weißbier. Not a big fan of sour mash but it seems other people like it. Now they need to get some outside seating and it's perfect. read more
