My girlfriends and I decided we needed to get some grub and enjoy the patio weather today so we all picked Sockeye to hit up for our monthly outing. I arrived first and the patio area was pretty chill. Was sat at a great table and hung out till the rest of my friends showed up. My two friends and I did get to peep out the menu for a bit. Our last friend who is notoriously late allowed is some extra time to really check out the whole menu without feeling rushed. Happy hour was going on so of course the apps were calling to me. I can make a meal off of multiple appetizers. We finally got food ordered when our last friend showed up. I got the salmon and shrimp crab cakes. I have left Sockeye hungry before after having dinner here so I also added a side of chili just in case. I was ready to eat! My crab and shrimp cakes came out looking fabulous. They were fried a nice golden brown. So crispy on the outside and savory on the inside. I love the aoili that was on top, it added an extra flair to the crab cake. 3 were in an order and it was the perfect amount. I smashed all 3 and they were so good! I did have a couple bites of the chili. It was hearty in meat and beans. Rich in flavor and filling. I'm looking forward to adding this chili to some fries with some cheese on top for dinner later. I know it's going to be so good. Our server did a great job tonight. Despite the fact that she had to wait till our last friend to show up, our server was on top of it. Our water was always filled, she checked up on us and always made sure we were happy. As a past server, it's hard to manage time between tables when the whole party isn't there. Our server didn't have that issue today. My girlfriends and I had a great time. We enjoyed the food, enjoyed the atmosphere and was happy that we got to do this all on the patio. I always forget that there's a Sockeye by us off of Hill Rd. I will have to check that one out soon to grab more crab cakes. I do look foward to coming back to this location and enjoying another round of appetizers on the patio here.

If the weather is cooperating, sit outside. The beer selection is impressive, with a great range of lagers and ales. We had our eye on one particular light, crisp option, but they were out for the night. Our server pointed us toward something comparable... I believe it was called Teddy Bearnd...it worked. Now, the food. My friend went for one of their signature burgers, which was seasoned simply so the beef really gets to shine. The only hiccup was that they were out of tomatoes, which is a non-negotiable topping for her, so keep that in mind if tomatoes are a must. I went a different route and ordered the beef focaccia. Uniquely layered ribeye and really good. We also shared a Greek salad that was simple but fresh and satisfying. And the french fries with their homemade ketchup? Don't skip em. Service was smooth and friendly from start to finish. No complaints.

We thought they had a rec room and that it was really kid friendly, so we were pretty disappointed to see that it was all gone. But, they still have a nice space and it was good enough to keep our toddler entertained with playing cards and popcorn. Being such a hot day, I had to start with the Radler. The grapefruit has such a nice flavor to it and it was perfect to cool down before diving into their other beer. We also ordered the Dandelion Ale, this was pretty interesting to try. I have to say it was unique and I can see why some people would not enjoy it. I however really liked the golden ale with a nice bite, it reminded me a lot of a dandelion or nettle tea. We also tried a hazy, it was pretty good, but nothing too special. Overall a pretty good brewery but I wish they still had their rec room to enjoy.

The beer that Steve and I had was the IPA known as City of Trees which was pretty good. The flavor highlights that we detected with this IPA were hoppy, piney and bitter. It was a very smooth and light bodied IPA so that was nice to have for sure. Some IPA'S are just a tad overwhelming in body but this one wasn't at all and brought in a pleasant refreshing aspect to it which we both liked due to it's body. Very nice IPA to enjoy!

Almost made me want to move here, they were easy to talk to and were completely personal with their conversations. I ordered the flight of 4, 5-oz samples with an additional 2 more. Making it a 6-sample flight consisting of 30 oz of beer. What I ordered was their Recoil IPA (citrus), Rustler IPA (malty), Mutton Buster (brown ale), Oktoberfest (marzen lager), with the additional two of the Aura (hibiscus sour), and Sofa King Dreamy (tropical IPA). This place was absolutely amazing, from the outside drinking areas to the bathrooms. The bathroom was something I wasn't suspecting, all the way to the bonfire pit that was so huge, to even the forest of the wandering drinkers. I did come pretty close to close and the staff was still awesome and easy to work with. They weren't done with their shift and irrtitated which I see most of the time. I ended up buying some merchandise and some beer togo. If I lived here, I can totally see myself coming by this spot frequently. The bartenders were polite and service was very quick. The fire pit outside puts off a lot of heat and was perfect for the brisk evening last night. I have also been here in the summer time with my family and the outdoor courtyard is a good space for the kids to run around and we usually order them dinner for the rotating food trucks they have available. Also note, they are dog friendly. There were lots of sweet pups there last night. Just remember to bring a poop bag just in case.
