Amazing food! Fantastic service! A must if you're in Boise!! Ken's biscuits were so so good

Grilled ahi tuna (a bit of a disappointment)
    Gina M.

Service: 5 (Thanks Darren) We had a really good experience here. I hate that I loved the biscuits and dessert the most, but I did! The biscuits were incredible. They were hot and soft in the right places and crispy in the right places and the honey butter was delicious on them. The dessert was a Valentine's Day special, Turtle Bundino with chocolate, salted caramel, candied pecans, & whipped cream. The tuna crudo was also very tasty, but the grilled ahi was just not right. The flavor was good, and the potatoes/zucchini were prepared well. The ahi was tough. It was supposed to be medium rare, and it was close...but not quite. I had to put some muscle in to it to cut it. To Darren's credit, we told him it was good, and we ate it all, but it wasn't great. The good news....everything else was GREAT! So I still highly recommend, but for 5 stars, it all kinda has to be right from the jump.

Highly rated and accurate. Cool, long dining room with booths and tables. Love a good booth. Biscuits for a starter and they are delicious. Hit the spot since our group was "hangrry". Would be better if it came with two cups of that delicious butter, not one. Cocktails are unique and while they can make just about anything, switched to beer on this night. Half dozen on tap and bottled. They have a lot of great options on the menu. Chose simple tonight and went with the burger. Great patty and flavor, sautéed onion jam, and bun. Very flavorful and filling. Good portion of fries, shoestring style, cooked perfectly. Waitress was great and you can tell this is the type of establishment that employs a well trained staff. Would dine here again.

This place is hidden on a side road with not much parking. We only found street parking. Good luck getting close to it on a busy day. I went here on a Sunday for brunch. The restaurant itself has really upscale vibes. Almost like I back in the north east and going out to eat. The hostess was friendly and sat us quickly when we came in. Our waitress was very friendly also. The menu is small and does change a good amount. Our waitress told us that it changes a good amount so your favorite item might not be there if you look at the menu online. I got the blueberry pancakes. They were absolutely delicious. Moist, flavorful and melted with not much chewing. I do wish they gave more syrup. The blueberry syrup they put on top just soaks into the pancakes. I didn't get to try the burger since who i was with didn't offer me anything from him plate. It did look good and he ate his whole burger. I will definitely come here again.

We arrived on a Monday night for a team dinner and promptly seated at the front round table. Beautiful restaurant and ambiance! We were promptly greeted by our server and drink orders taken. I'm from out of town so our local friends guided us to order the sourdough focaccia for an appetizer. This is the best bread I've ever had!! Incredible taste and crisp, I only had one slice but could have easily eaten the whole loaf! I ordered the salmon for dinner which did not disappoint, I cleaned my plate. We shared a few desserts - carrot cake, bread pudding, and cheesecake, all were delicious. I was raving about my meal to my husband so I'm definitely bringing him here when we are back in Boise!

I had the short rib and Brussel sprout salad and came back for the sourdough pappardelle, all of which were phenomenal. I normally do not like Brussel sprouts but I tried it due to a coworker's recommendation and it was by far the best I've ever had. The servers were friendly and attentive and the restaurant is beautiful. Definitely a must if you want something nice in Boise.

Soooo good and affordable, I wouldn't classify as $$$$?? Grain bowl with rotisserie chicken and seasonal veggies tasted kinda like a deconstructed pot pie in the best way! Veggies were amazing, corn so sweet snd juicy! Definitely in season. Fast service, modern vibe. Got it to go, will be back!

Great food and atmosphere! Staff were very friendly and super attentive. Several items on the menu look good, I will definitely return to explore the menu.

What a fabulous experience at Percy! Food: 5/5. Wow! Every single item was truly phenomenal. We started with the corn and potatoes for appetizers. Both were truly unlike any other corn and potatoes I've ever had. The corn is like a cold corn salad with tomatoes and a little bit of spice. The potatoes are smashed and the flavoring is like a vinegar sauce and have a delicious cream underneath. For entrees, we had the papperdelle and the skirt steak. Wow! Both were mouthwatering and plated beautifully as well. I really don't think you can wrong with anything you order here. To finish we had the brownie cheesecake. Wow! Definitely a must have! Service: 5/5. Every single person we interacted with was so friendly and delightful. Ella was our server and she was very attentive and provided a great wine recommendation. We were celebrating a special occasion and not only did the hostess and waitress say congratulations to us, but we were given a hand written postcard as well! Something we will definitely cherish and such a nice touch! Atmosphere: 5/5. I love the decor, seating, and atmosphere of this restaurant! Everything is stunning, including the bathroom which I recommend you check out. You can tell a lot of thought went into this location. The only downside I would say is downtown parking, but that is to be expected. I absolutely loved our experience here and can't wait to go again! What a magical experience I will not forget!

    Sourdough pappardelle

I had been wanting to try Percy for a very long time. I must say I was not disappointed. The handwritten birthday card is a very nice touch. I felt very welcomed right off the bat. For appetizers, we started with the fried cauliflower, which wasn't my favorite. The flavor is really strong, but the seasonal vegetables over the Burrata served in this sort of spicy sauce was delicious. The risotto with goat cheese on top and steak that was cooked to perfection is a dish so good you'll dream about it. The pappardelle with short rib Ragu is a delicious hearty dish. It is served with burrata on top as well. For dessert, the strawberry rhubarb crisp was very good surprisingly good. I would order it again. The spicy margarita and the Aperol spritz are great. The drinks come fast from the bar. The inside of the restaurant is delightful. It feels like an upscale dining room. The bathroom is adorable, extra brownie points just for the bathroom. Percy is a great spot if you are looking for delicious food from the beginning to the end of the meal a great atmosphere quick service. I highly recommend this place for date night girls night out or a celebration dinner. Best meal I've had in a while!

    Amazing burger

Went for brunch~ I've enjoyed lunch and dinner previously ~ our brunch was very marginal, so much so that I don't know when I'll visit again. Our server was great, and tried to make it right, even when we didn't ask for anything, but lacking enough food wise that unfortunately, it won't be on our list for a while.

    Skirt Steak
    Joyce P.

Great atmosphere and the service here is impeccable! We ordered - Skirt Steak - Baby Gem Salad - Sourdough Pappardelle The gem salad had fresh lettuce and tasty heirloom tomatoes. The skirt steak was the main star - tender marinated in sweet and savory sauce along with the cheesy Mexican rice. The pappardelle was perfectly al dente, bits of short ribs on the bottom.

After living here for 4 years and after many attempts to make it to Percy, we finally did! It was well worth the wait. The restaurant has a great ambiance to it and feels welcoming and cozy at the same time. We loved the option to sit outside on the patio on a nice day. We started with a salad as our appetizer. Although the ingredients were simple, the flavor was packed! I ordered the short rib and my husband got the skirt steak, both of which were phenomenal! The cheesy rice served with the skirt steak was out of this world. We will absolutely be back to dine here again!

It taste as good as it looks!

I was in town for business, and I had a local friend tell me, "you gotta go in here. You can tell…read morethe bartender what you like flavor wise, and they will make you something even better than you can imagine." And that, my friends, is exactly what happened. I walked in, not sure what to get. The bartender asked me what flavors I like. She went away and made me this epic cocktail. She told me all the things she added, and it was clear, these bartenders are the real deal. They know their stuff. I drank my delightful cocktail way too fast. But it was so damn good. The vibe is fun. They bartenders interact with everyone and do all kinds of cool things with cool ingredients and tell you about it all. Perfect spot for a loungey date night, or a meet up with a friend. There is no food. But plenty of spots on 8th in walking distance. This is probably one of the best cocktail bars I've ever been to. ... and I've been to a lot. :)

Like this bar changed my whole perspective on the whole state of Idaho being a California transplant, which doesn't hold that much weight with other people in Idaho, but I don't care. I will always come here anytime I come downtown and I will always overtip because the likes of Ruby and Darien never disappoint, including the regulars, whom are also always nice. For every overrated cactus bar with the worst service, there is the mode lounge which sets the standard for everything in Boise.

A speak easy in Boise! I was intrigued! The whole experience was so fun to share with a group of…read morefriends! We stood in the alley and knocked on the door. A small window in the door opened and we had to provide a password to gain entry. (Initially our large group had to reserve 3 time slots and we would be seated separately.) I was in the first group. We were let into a small area with floor to ceiling bookcases. Of course there was a book that once pulled, opened a secret door to the bar within. The ambiance was dim lighting and groups of comfortable seating areas. The waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the drinks on the menu. I started with a mocktail that could be made vegan by omitting the egg white. Beautifully presented with a flower design. It was sweet and it was tart. The second drink I got was a cocktail that was smooth with a perfect amount of sweet. My friends got cocktails in their unique glasses. When our next group came through, they were led into a room. After a while, one friend came out to say hello to us. The waiter noticed that we knew each other and told my group to follow him. The room was dimly lit and was furnished with comfortable armchairs and couches. Our third group was able to join us in the room and we were able to mingle seated or standing. The different drinks that were ordered were so cool. A smoky bubble was set on top of a cone shaped glass that resembled an ice cream cone. I had a couple of friends that ordered gin drinks and they were served in a bathtub complete with rubber ducky! This was such a fun and special way to celebrate a friend's birthday! The service was superb!

I've been to several speakeasies around the USA and Gatsby should be the standard of what a…read morespeakeasy should be. No really! Imagine yourself walking through the 8th St promenade in downtown Boise. It's hustling and bustling with people and restaurants that are packed. Then, out of the corner of your eye, you see an alley. It's kinda dark, maybe a little unsettling at first. You see a steel door with a small panel at the top of the door. No door handles but a green lit old stagecoach light, a small wooden sign hanging g just beyond the door with a key on it. Hmmm, strange. In faded sharpie letters it says Knock knock on the metal door, so you knock twice. The panel on the door slides open and they ask for the password. Whoa!!!! Luckily you called ahead to make reservations so they whispered it to you. You give the password and door opens to a tiny little library with a couple of shelves full of books. The hosts welcomes you and you stare at the bookshelf knowing it isn't just a bookshelf but a door. You try pulling on different books guessing which is the right one but after a minute the hostess shows you and you enter a beautiful brick walled 1920s decorated room with seats and dim lights and no windows whatsoever. The artwork is prohibition-era themed. Heck, there's even a stack of wooden barrels that supposedly hold spirits. That is exactly the speakeasy experience you are looking for. We were seated in the boiler room, a private area which had beautiful wooden lockers with glass doors all lit up and full of booze. Books line the wall and there is an old fireplace covered with candles that have melted wax all over the mantle. In the corner is a poker table. Really the perfect vibe for a speakeasy. Glance at the menu and notice their tang of cheaper to very rare and unique spirits, some costing hundreds of dollars for a shot. Whisky, vodka, rum, gin, scotch, bourbon, you name it. But also check out their cocktails. They can even make mocktails if you don't want alcohol. Not only are the drinks unique but so is their presentation. The glades used I've never seen. Some drinks have a printed pattern on them, others come with dry ice that quickly evaporates or a cool smoked filled bubble. The whole experience was just amazing. This is a do not miss opportunity if you like drinks and cool, unique experiences. They even have another room in the back called the Garrison Room which looks like a mineshaft. I just love the thought put into this place. And when you are done, you exit through a nondescript door and exits to a patio area of another restaurant and back out to the promenade. Just a wow experience! So glad I did it.

My husband and I really wanted to like this place! The setting is wonderful and the ambience is…read morereally nice. We had breakfast there this morning and it was just OK. We both got the traditional eggs Benedict... and I ate maybe 15% of my breakfast and just stopped. My husband ate all of his... but mostly because he was just hungry... Much like our Labrador who will eat absolutely anything! Haha. But he said it was only OK. He rated it a 5/10. What he disliked the most was the potatoes. They were fairly hard/tough and tasted like they were fried in old oil and sitting under heat lamps for two hours before we got them. They were very dehydrated as well. For me... The hollandaise sauce was fresh, but had no flavor. It needed more lemon or salt or something. The ham was odd... I'm a little too salty. It seemed like Hillshire Farms sliced ham. Not something you would expect at a nice restaurant in your eggs Benedict. Also, I ordered an Arnold Palmer... And it was so sour that I had to send it back. I poured like a heaping teaspoon of sugar into it, and it didn't even make a difference.... It was that sour. It actually started to make my stomach hurt a little. So I sent it back. And the waitress was very nice, and didn't charge me for it. The service was good... But they cram everyone in there on one side of the restaurant... at least outside. I have no idea why... They have all this space in front of their restaurant and yet they try and cram everybody right next to each other. It was very annoying, and made me just wanna leave. They have many tables on the other side like 10 feet away... But they insisted on cramming everybody into the same small area. And you could tell nobody wanted to be that close to one another. I'm not sure if they do this to make it easier for their servers... Or to make the restaurant look busy. Either way, it's a practice that they really should stop. My advice to the restaurant... Utilize your space outside in front, stop cramming people so close together. When you have to get up and move your chair so someone can get to their table... it's ridiculous! On a positive note... Their coffee was actually really good! Some of the best that we've had in a restaurant in many many years. And I know, I mentioned it above, but I should mention it again... The weight staff was wonderful. From the girl who greeted us at the front podium, to our waitress, and the waitressing training. Everyone was wonderful. So, to end this review... I can only comment on the breakfast. We didn't have anything else there, and maybe it will be good... But I'm not sure if I'm willing to give this place another try. Good luck!
