I've only been here once but I'm very excited to return. My husband and I found them parked outside of our favorite Boise brewery, Mad Swede. We were pretty hungry after a long day and looked forward to some delicious food - Off the Grid-L did the trick! I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings on the burger. That's right - ON the damn burger. They were the good kind too. Super crunchy and somehow the onions actually stayed in the shell instead of falling out like your average diner rings tend to do. The burger itself was cooked perfectly, no pink at all, thankfully, and piled with fresh veggies. I really enjoyed how well the fries were seasonsed. They're the fresh cut kind that have a little skin left that makes them oh sooooo good. The staff running the show were very nice. They waved and immediately greeted us with smiling faces as we walked up to order. Customer service can literally make or break an experience for me. To get both great food and wonderful service tends to be rare these days. I'm glad this business still values common customer courtesy. I haven't seen Off the Grid-L around lately but last year I remember seeing them frequently advertise their location on the Street Food Finder app so if they're on your Boise food truck bucket list download the app! We had an event booked with them for over 6 months and 3 days before our event to be held April 25, HE CANCELED US, here is the is the TEXT MESSAGE HE sent to me. (verbatim April 22nd) Hi Jackie, "This is Jerry with OFF THE GRID-L food truck. We are not going to be available for this Friday. One of our corporate clients booked us to cater their employees for Friday." I was shocked to think canceling us was not hard for him to do, he gave no thought or consideration as to how we would be left without a means to feed our 75 ladies attending our event. The thing that bothered me the most was, he didn't offer any kind of an apology. Off the GRID-L On 6/11/21, I visited this Boise-based food truck for the first time. Off the GRID-L specializes in custom burgers and chicken sandwiches. All of their hamburgers are 1/3 pound of their own special blend of meat. I ordered the Cheeseburger ($10) - 1/3 pound, hand pressed, seasoned & grilled, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, American cheese, on a toasted brioche bun. Served with fries. Wowza! Now I understand why many consider this to be the best hamburger in Boise. All burgers are made to order. Condiments come on the side. The crinkle cut fries are served with homemade fry sauce. OTG-L is putting out exceptionally well seasoned burgers with a nice char, beautifully dressed. To find OTG-L, like and follow them on FB. They brought their truck to my work an catered to about 300 employees. The wait time was supper short! Surprised me since they were cooking for so many. I ordered the Cowboy and it was super yummy! Burger is so flavorful perfectly seasoned and the onion rings are some of the best! Great fry sauce. Food portion is a lot! I could easily split one next time with someone. Booked them at our place of work 8.22 from 11-2pm with over 200 employees in Nampa. They came out at 10am, scoped the area out and another coworker saw them leave. 11 am came around and no one was here. I called 3 times and finally got through to a gentleman who was so rude to me I was shook. He said rudely, "yah I came out and left. I felt unsafe, this was in the middle of nowhere and you guys actually sell Sh*t out there ?" . I explained we have a new food truck come every Thursday with no problems. He never called me or even wussed out and emailed me that he was cancelling. I had to call over and over for him to then say what he said above. He didn't apologize or even give detailed reasoning. I would not recommend thia truck to anyone. Cannot rely on their word. Very unprofessional read more

I was supposed to have a chance to have some food from the Off the Grid-L truck today but it didn't happen. We have people in our office that arrange food trucks every week many of whom end up as repeat business. Off the Grid-L had agreed to come out this week. Unfortunately we were left high and dry as he came in, drove around and left. They didn't call or e-mail to let us know and the lady in the office who arranged for them had to contact him and was only told he didn't feel safe. We have a large building with three different businesses in it and are not in a bad area and have not had any complaints from any of the other vendors that come here. I would have liked to try the food as the pics that were posted looked really good. The actions of this vendor though cost him business today and in the future I am sure. Due to what I see as unprofessional actions on his part I will not get food from his truck if I see him somewhere else in the future and I know there are a lot of others in my office who will also avoid him.
