208 BurgerQ is under new ownership and is now referred to as 208 Burgers y más. I was excited to support local and have been hearing about the exciting changes, so it was time to check it out. We arrived around 5pm and the place was empty with the exception of one family, but drive thru was consistent. We were able to place our orders quickly. Even though the combo upgrade (fries or tots + drink) is very affordable, overall meals are a tad on the pricier side. We ordered a basic cheeseburger combo and the Bacon Cowboy highland burger combo, total was $29, not including tip. The place has a "not updated since 1990", but clean vibe. Food came out quickly and our customized meals came out correctly. We were a tad underwhelmed with the look of the burgers...for the price we were hoping for a wow factor. The burger patties were pretty thin and overcooked (more chewy than melt in your mouth). Toppings were fresh and the buns were soft. Tater tots and fries were perfectly cooked, though fries come out unsalted which I'm not sure was intentional or not (I appreciated the option to salt to taste). Overall, a pleasant experience and I wouldn't mind trying other items on the menu. read more

I am forced to leave one star, though the raw chicken strips I was served would receive negative 5 stars. After eating two pieces, I found the third completely raw and gooey on the inside there was even wet batter still left on the chicken. Upon calling to report this health hazard, the worker seemed more interested in defending their "temp checking" protocol than addressing the undercooked poultry in my hand, calling the situation "odd." She actually asked me if I would like to bring the chicken back & get more chicken to which I responded "absolutely not" I will not be buying chicken from them again unfortunately that was the only resolution she offered. So the reason for my review today, Our family plans a fun Sunday dinner chooses specifically to support this local burger stop over the 2 chains in town. We stop by the store to verify the time they are open by checking physically along with online. I then go back to the store at 6:15 to order our dinner for the night when I come to find they either closed early or changed the hours without updating maps and the listing on the door. Pleasantly surprised! Stopped in here today while running some errands in the area and stopped in here for a quick bite. Inside classic diner vibe and very well kept and clean. It's a walk up type of joint with all the selections on the wall. The lady at the front counter was super nice and informative. After a few seconds we ordered our food. After a short wait our food came out pipping hot and everything you can tell was freshly made. The onion rings were homemade and nice and crispy. I ordered the southern comfort which was a burger topped off with pulled pork, cheese and coleslaw. 1 word Delicious! Well executed and very satisfying. The fries while not homemade were still nice and crispy. My wife and daughter really enjoyed their burger and spicy chicken sandwich. The first time I came here I got a chocolate shake. The shake alone deserves this place 5 stars. Came back a day or two later with my husband to grab a burger and fries. We tried this place earlier today and we were pleasantly surprised. I got the 208 burger and he got the patty melt. Both delicious. My burger had the patty, bacon, fried pickle spears, fried onion strip (Haystack onion), cheese, fry sauce, BBQ sauce, and lettuce, tomato (I got mine without), and onion, the flavors worked nicely. The cheese and onions on the patty melt was melted and cooked nicely and made for a juicy melt. My dad got the Southern Comfort burger and he finished it all! Pretty good. The previous establishment lost my business due to flavorless food and "meh" service. Now there is good service and good food. The menu is pretty big and pretty extensive. Would've been better if eaten right away but we did a to-go order so it sat for a bit before we broke into. Not their fault. The fries were delicious and the fry sauce was good too. The cheese tots were also yummy. Cheese sauce instead of shredded cheese is the best. The burgers could've used a tad more seasoning, but all in all were pretty good. This place has become hit and miss lately. My wife and I used to go there under prior ownership (Burger Den) and were never disappointed. Under its current name/ownership (208 Burger-Q), our meals have been inconsistent, but trending worse. Recent visit: Saturday December 11, 2021. We arrived about 3:20 p.m., and opted for Drive-Thru. Placed our order at 3:34 p.m. We were rung up and received our meal at 3:53 p.m. The rather long wait is usually tolerable because the meals (in the past) were received piping hot and made to order. We pulled over to Piccadilly Park to eat. One of the sandwiches was wrong (pork instead of beef). Both sandwiches were cold and dry. The onion rings, usually a favorite, were also cold. The drinks were what was ordered, so they got that right. What is particularly sad, as we want to support local merchants when we can. And while we are likely to give this business one more chance, we hope to see significant improvement, or we will go elsewhere from now on. read more
