So didn't want to leave a bad review here but it is what it is. Went here around noon and place was packed. Read all the great reviews and thought this will be good. Huge disappointment. I had two eggs over easy with bacon, hash browns and wheat toast. Well, eggs were so done not even a little runny with yolks. Bacon rubberish and under cooked. Haven't had bacon this bad since serving in the Army. Toast not hardly toasted. Hash browns okay. Wife had a single pancake and added strawberries and whip cream. Strawberries looked like canned cherries and server actually brought out whip cream and made a happy face on pancake. Super slow service. This was a very pleasant surprise! From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but.. WOW! The interior is decked out with all sorts of car parts and interesting memorabilia, a lot to look at, including drop lights used for lighting above the tables! My sister and I stopped in for breakfast. We each got a HALF order omelette (3 eggs instead of 6!) which was more than enough!! They came with choice of side (hashbrowns, pancakes or toast were the options, if I remember correctly). We both got hashbrowns with gravy-- very good flavor! Omelette were cooked perfectly and ingredients were wonderful-- I got the Tool Box, my sister got the El Camino. I actually took half of mine home for breakfast the next day! Service was also fantastic. Our server was real, no fake smiles or tone, just really welcoming and nice. She was great about keeping an eye on us, refilling drinks and ensuring our needs were met. It's classic breakfast food done, right. The biscuits are fresh, and the gravy has big chunks of sausage in it. The eggs Benny has lots of ham and the hollandaise is perfect. The waitress was so nice. The food came out hot and fast. The eggs were perfectly cooked. It was not too busy for a weekend morning. Plenty of parking. It was a smallish bathroom, but it was clean. Last Summer I read an article saying this restaurant had some of the best burgers in the state. My daughter and I drove out there on a Monday night and they were closed. Today she and I were craving burgers so I looked them up again on Yelp and called. They closed at 8:00 PM, so we left our house at 4:00 PM, and drove there. When we arrived at the restaurant we were met by the staff who were very friendly. From the outside of the restaurant it does not look very big and it really isn't, however, there's ample seating. We sat in the larger dining area and really enjoyed the traveling ambience. We sat down and my daughter ordered the Wing nut Burger with tots, and I ordered the Bronco Burger with tots. My daughter loved her burger and so did I. The meat was fresh, the bread was delicious. The food was excellent. Our service was great and I overheard the waitress telling another table that people come from all over to-eat there. I can see why. For desert we had Marion berry pie. It was home made and delicious. I will definitely come back here. It is well worth the drive and the staff is so nice. I highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

The Garage Cafe in Notus may be off the beaten path, but it's right on track for being one of my new favorite "hole in the wall diners! Roomy booths, retro feel, waitress brought us a big stack of napkins without asking which was great since we came with kids! The service was phenomenal. Their burgers are the clear stand out and the buns are awesome. The burgers kind of reminded me of the California chain Fuddruckers in a good way. The onion rings were the only "eh" thing- I liked the thick piece of onion in the middle but the breading wasn't crispy enough and just a little too salty. The house made fruit of the forest pie (apple and berry) was good, I was surprised it has cinnamon sugar crust and it hit the spot at the end of the meal. I actually chose the burger, fries, and pie which is a menu item with all items for one price, cheaper than getting them individually! I love a deal! My kids thoroughly enjoyed their little hamburger and grilled cheese, and the waitress thoughtfully brought out their food first- which was great because they were hungry! Definitely worth trying, I love a good hole-in-the-wall greasy spoon and this place fit the bill! read more

I almost never leave a review but I was so disappointed that I felt like this needed to happen, I felt actually sick after eating here. We were seated quickly but our food took almost a full hour to come out. I got the Eggs Benedict with hash browns which were fine but burnt. However the English muffin tasted like it was dunked in someone's sweat and physically made me sick after one bite. The eggs were extremely undercooked and the sauce tasted off. I was very dissatisfied with the overall experience. Clearly understaffed so I wanted to be understanding about the wait time but I couldn't even eat my food. After driving to Owyhee, I noticed my girlfriend was hungry so we decided to stop at this cool 50s style diner. We walk in and lots of old vintage decor which we love stuff like this. We sat down and server brings us the menus super friendly. My girlfriend ordered fried chicken strips and I ordered a burger with onion rings. I also ordered a milkshake but she forgot but instead I got 10% off my order which was very nice of her to do. Food was decent and tasted like a home cooked meal. Super friendly service and very attentive. I enjoyed my experience here. The venue really does look like you are dining in a gear head's garage, lol. The booths are upholstered, comfortable, an clean. The food was a bit disappointing, mainly due to a lack of seasoning, IMO. Everything is hand made - excellent. But with just a little attention it could be outstanding. For instance, the hamburger patties are not seasoned; no salt and pepper detected at all. I ordered a Nitrous burger (hot & spicy) but it turned out to be a vinegar bomb. They have pickled jalapenos along with a vinegar based hot sauce and it just overpowers everything else. Do not add dill pickles on the side to this burger! The Bow Tie burger tasted better mainly because it had bacon on it which enhanced the flavor. Buns were fresh, everything was fresh. We tried the breaded mushrooms and onion rings. Again, fresh but no seasoning in the breading, and the breading was soft. But the soup of the day (Clam Chowder) was seasoned very well and it tasted good so go figure. I also tried a milkshake. They are hand dipped and spun which is what I look for. The taste was great for vanilla ice cream but I ordered a flavor and it didn't come through; some more syrup was needed. Portions are huge so if you are going for volume you won't be disappointed. I'm glad that the business has done well here and especially through the pandemic. I really enjoyed our waitress, both her service and her personality. I wouldn't say it's great for a crowd but the breakfast portions are LARGE for the price and drink prices are cheap, and service was mostly good but the 1 or 2 servers were pretty swamped on Saturday morning in spite of letting them know we'd have a party of 13 or so. I think we actually had 14. Service was quite good considering that. This place is fun. Tiny town off the beaten path, and they have guise great little converted car repair garage. It's not a chain, and it really is a friendly place. Could use some heavy floor cleaning and a bit more attention to the empty booths as folks leave, but all in al, it's a fun place. The burgers are huge, and so are the piles of fries... the burger/pie combo is a family favorite. If you are brave, they have the face sized burger you can trust to tackle. Finnally our order was taken 37 minutes later our food arrived and the disaster began. The hashbrowns were under cooked and soaked in oil that drained out all over the plate, scrambled eggs were burned an inedible an the bacon supposed to be scrambled in was almost non existent and the english muffin wasnt even warm enough to melt the butter. We drove here today from Nampa just to give this place a try. Really glad we did. Would like to give it 4 1/2 stars but that's not an option and I just can't give 5 stars. The service was friendly but pretty slow. We were there at the lunch hour on a weekday and yes, it was fairly busy but the place is small. The portions are great but I got charged an additional $2.50 for "extra ham" on my chef salad when I asked for all ham on it instead of ham AND turkey. That really bugged me but I chose to let it go. I also didn't care for the sliced cheese on my salad instead of shredded, but it's not that big a deal. My daughter ordered French toast, which she loved and also a single side of biscuits and gravy, which she also enjoyed. I tried it too and thought the biscuit was really good but the gravy was not at all. It was sweet and had no sausage in it despite being listed on the menu as "sausage gravy", not sausage flavored gravy. My husband had the six pack burger and said it was delicious and so was the fry sauce. We will definitely go back again to try other menu items but there were just enough things I didn't like about our experience to give a full five stars. This used to be our favorite spot. Ate there on Sunday, January 31st at 11:00am. I ordered diced ham and scrambled eggs with a pancake. Received my ham and eggs and the eggs were so brown they were actually burned. My pancake was also cooked to the point it was not dark brown but black. I sent it back only to be served diced ham and eggs with crushed up fine eggshells mixed in it and a raw pancake. DO NOT EAT HERE if you value your life. I have also filed a complaint with the county Health Department. This cook jerk needs to be fired if they want to stay in business. read more
