6/7/26. Lunch. Est. 1937 - very cool. The decor is the most patriotic that I have ever experienced. Very warm and friendly service. Despite not being made on the premises the onion rings are a hit at this "mom and pop" traditional diner/restaurant. Real ice cream in the chocolate milk shake served the old fashioned way - in a tall glass AND in the metal mixing container. We enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger which had pork rib meat mixed in with the beef patty. It took us more than five minutes to order because there are so many great dishes to choose from. The food tasted fresh and was flavorful with just enough char on the patty and on the bun. We will be back soon to try a breakfast item. Tom's Cabin is a real treat that you must try. read more

I love Tom's Cabin... but my pallet is for eating Breakfast only..so far..! I LOVE eating their breakfast!! They have some of the BEST TASTING BACON in the WORLD there !! My meal was burnt and fried . I ordered a fish sandwich and got just buns and fish. Very disappointing!

I got a gift certificate for Tom's Cabin in Emmett and decided to check it out. It's quite a drive from Star; probably closer to Caldwell and Middleton. It was a nice ride. I found an old cafe in a rustic cabin. It's a neat place for those who like that. I ordered coffee that wasn't bad for only $1.50. Only sugar/sweet n low. Bring your own if you want another sweetener. The menu is typical except prices are mostly low. Pancake meals under $10 and I ordered chicken fried steak for around $14. It was a huge and thick cube steak covered with wonderful gravy and lots of excellent crispy hash browns on the side. The eggs were perfect too. My rye toast was only ok. And the meat was too thick and burnt a bit on the bottom. That was okay, I couldn't eat even half. I ended up taking half of everything home and it was great re-heated. Service was very good with knowledgeable waitresses who have probably been there forever. They did talk shop a bit more than I wanted to hear, but were nice. I have a few dollars left on my gift certificate, so I'll be back soon. read more

Been to Tom's twice. First meal was for breakfast, the coffee was hot, was greeted with a smile, and the eggs and bacon hit the spot. My second visit was for dinner and had a Massive Burger, it was really good. As a local, I'm grateful to have the Tom's Cabin folks serving food for our community. Great work, y'all. read more

This little place has some awesome food. They are alway busy when they are open. Sometimes there is a little wait but it's well worth it. Always the best service, food and a great restaurant for gatherings! My favorite is their chicken-fried steak with homemade gravy and a biscuit on the side. Delicious! Tends to be a little bit crowded most of the time, but that's because their food is fantastic! Hahahaaa! Great little breakfast place just outside Emmett. Came here with a large group before the cherry festival and the service was great. Hard to get food out all at the same time that's hot for 12 people, so some of our plates were hotter than others. Chicken fried steak was good, a real slab of steak not a hamburger patty. Cooked well but needed salt and pepper. My husband got the meat scramble and was happy with it, lots of meat. Hashbrowns we're cooked ok just not a whole lot of flavor, could have used a little more crisp. This place has been here forever- friendly service, good food, decent prices. Next time I'll get the breakfast bowl- it looked loaded up with good stuff. read more

I haven't been here for so long. I miss coming here. When I was a kid my parents would take my brother and I here to come eat breakfast with our grandparents on the weekends. I liked the food. This was where I got to try Crystal Clear Pepsi when it was available in the 80's. There was entertainment here that you normally find at a bar. My grandpa would sit an play poker on one of those machines. I'm not sure if Tom's Cabin still has those. I think this is why I am drawn to places like this because they make me feel at home. There is another awesome place to get breakfast in Gem county. I think Emmett is kind of a breakfast place because there are a few of them. read more

Husband received pipn hot chick fried steak. I saw the heat coming off, so my food must have been waiting for his to finish? I don't know the temp of his toast, but his butter was melted and mine would not melt on the toast it just settled there mocking the fact that everything was really cold and would not be eaten because people want a pipn hot breakfast in the morning... sigh...it is what it is. Stopped in for a quick dinner after a day on the trail. Fryer was down so we had breakfast. We both had the breakfast bowl, on with ham and one with sausage. This little hole in the wall might be the best restuarant I've been to in quite some time. Although it's not much to look at, you immediately feel like family when you walk in. The waitress staff are skilled and super friendly. We've only tried dinner entrees, but haven't been disappointed yet. From fried chicken, steak, mashed taters and gravy, to burgers and fries this place rocks. And the homemade pies with a scoop of ice cream are coma inducing good. Check it out! read more

Chicken strips! Service is based on prior tipping so... decide to tip or order to go. Food is amazing!

First time visit today for lunch. I had the bacon & ham club sandwich and my wife had the chicken strips. Both were excellent. Staff was very friendly even though they were extremely busy. Got there at 6, they closed at 8. Asked if they were going to refill the empty salad bar, "no, what's there is all we have left." Which was not much and all fixins were empty. My Sunday special the chicken Alfredo was ok. But I was still hungry after I left. Place was kind of dirty and cluttered. Service was ok. Except mom asked for cocktail sauce and got something else. Overall, below average. I won't be back. Too many other better places to go. read more
