Everything on their menu is delicious. Even their salad dressing and fry sauce is tantilizing. There is not much seating compared to other, larger restaurants, but this does give it a cozy ambience. This was one of my favorite places to visit while pregnant! Their execution of the blue cheese burger is a winner! I always fill up by the time desert comes around....hopefully one day I will have enough willpower to save room for the peanut butter pie

Came here on a Saturday night around 730. Super busy, but the customer service was still spot on. The ladies at the front were so friendly and welcoming. Our server Matt was welcoming and helpful the whole time. He was very apologetic about it being so busy. It's not his fault that it was busy. The burger was absolutely delicious. We split the Rude Boi and got fries as a side. The fries were nice and crispy. The only way fries should be served. Their fry sauce had great flavor. Most places it has absolutely no flavor, so I was very happy that theirs tasted as great as it did. Their ranch was also really great. I have no idea if it was homemade or from a jar, but it was delicious also. If I didn't live SE Boise I would visit this restaurant more often.

We got takeout but the burgers, mac n cheese eggrolls, and fries were delicious!! Burgers our family ordered: Bison burger, Holy Cow, Sam Elliot, and kids cheese sandwich with fries were good!! Sister ordered the fish and chips. If you don't like fried stuff or have a sensitive stomach, order a side salad with your burger. Tater tots were good too. For dessert, we got two slices of the salted caramel cheesecake. It was good but rich.

First impressions, I instantly like the setup and ambiance: the decor, fresh flowers, the dog photo wall, seating options, bathrooms, this place is fresh, stylish, and comfortable! Service has been excellent and love that they have Dr. Pepper I'm ordering the popcorn chicken which is listed as a house favorite. .....the results, Food was excellent! Chicken was served out quick, hot, and delicious. The ranch was great, but would love to see additional unique options for dipping sauce. The fries were also great!

Isabella , my Server was a Gem! Such a Sweetheart! My only Complaint is the Bar seating is gone and they literally took the size of their Fish orders in half. Still 4 pieces, but now they look like a Chicken Strip Size, very disappointed since this was my Nampa, Idaho Fish choice. However, there were very accommodating when I wanted to add two Buns and some side lettuce and make these into Fish Sandwiches. Pictures that follow ate before and today's Fish Fillet size. Can we change them back to the Size they were? A lot of people talk about your Fish on Social Media, I am going to post this in one week to all my platforms.waiting to hear from you.

Good burgers and chicken sandwiches. Nice side dishes. Good cheesecake. We beat the wait Sunday a little before noon.

This was a really enjoyable American style restaurant. It was a fun and open atmosphere with interesting art work. We were seated as soon as we entered and had our waitress at our table right away to take our drink orders. And she was always available. We tried the elk sliders and they were amazing, and the tater tots were cooked perfect. We tried a few of their local IPAs and they were served cold in a cold glass. Our overall experience was good. They gave you a lot of food and everything tasted good. Seating is spaced well so you are never sitting next to others. The music was not loud so it was easy to have conversations. I would recommend this place for families or couples or even if you are by yourself. They have an enjoyable bar area with seating. We were traveling and felt lucky to find this restaurant.

Our first time here and we love it! The food was great and came out quick. We had to wait a bit for the table but only 20 min during peak dinner time on a Friday night so I'm upset about that at all. We got fried pickles, burgers, and pulled pork. The server gave us great recommendations. Will 100% be coming back

Hi! Can't wait to try your burgers. Please confirm whether you have a dedicated fryer for gluten free fries? I called your restaurant & was told that you do have a dedicated fryer for fries BUT fry beer-battered fries in them (not gluten free). TY!

I can confirm that they do not have a dedicated fryer for their fried foods.

Are the fries cooked in a shared fryer?

No there is a dedicated fry fryer

Where is the best place to park when coming here? Does it have its own parking lot?

There is free street parking on the same block as Holy Cow, and and surrounding ones. If those are all full there is a free city lot next to the train depot.

There were a few papers and receipts on the floor, but with the amount of foot traffic, that can happen. I liked seeing team members regularly check and clean the drink station and condiment area. Once here in Idaho, I wasn't as inclined to visit due to my fear that it wouldn't taste the same and the Idaho-shaming of visiting any location. However, I had an overwhelming desire for "animal style" well done fries and after a lot of begging, convinced my husband to come (this was not an easy task). We arrived around 4:30 pm and the dining room was roughly 1/2 full with a robust wrap in drive-thru. We were greeted by a friendly cashier who quickly took our order, then repeated it back perfectly. The kitchen was in a fervor, bustling to satisfy all the orders (really, a hard working team). We obtained our drink cups and the large, typical drink station was nicely stocked with a nice array of soft drinks to choose from. The odd thing to me is that whenever I've eaten at any other location in the past, I think the longest I've ever waited for my meal has been maybe 9 minutes, tops. No matter the time of day or night. We waited 23 minutes for our meals. It seemed that drive-thru is priority, then to-go, then dine-in. The animal style fries were pretty good, though I'm used to it being slathered with more sauce. Thankfully, I was able to get a few sauce packets and gleefully doused to my delight. However, the bun of my burger was so over toasted! The buns were actually hard and crunchy. I'm not used to that. The burger tasted like before but it was dry and overcooked as well. The lettuce, onions, tomatoes and cheese were very fresh and flavorful. My husband had the same experience with his burger as I did. Tables were not wiped down and the condiment station was out of almost everything when we got there. They didn't refill all the cups, chilis, etc. until right before we left. I really wanted to love my visit, but after this experience, and all the convincing to entice my husband there with this result, it's unlikely we will be back.

After their move to Micron and several times not being able to find an available time to go, I was finally able to track them down at a Labor Day event. We ordered fries, "The Dropzone" (cheese, patty, house sauce, onions, pickles, lettuce and tomato) and my husband had the cheeseburger with just lettuce, house sauce and cheese. We were handed a pager, told not to go too far and waited. It took a little over 15 minutes but you could tell the burgers were hot off the grill and the fries were right out of the fryer. The fries were crispy and delicious with a light dusting of salt. The burgers were so juicy that the juice pooled at the bottom of the wrapping, though never dripping through. Every ingredient and topping seemed to be freshly picked from a garden; the tomatoes were plump and juicy, crispy lettuce, pickles and onions...just a bite of perfection from start to finish. Within seconds, I received a text that my order had been received, but not confirmed, and to watch for a confirmation text. After 30 minutes, I still had not received a confirmation text, so I messaged asking for an approximate time. The reply stated they were "slammed" and that my order would be ready in about 30 minutes. After another 45 minutes, I still had not received any communication from them, so I decided to walk over to check on my order, hoping that it would be ready. The first thing I noticed was that there were not a lot of customers inside. I informed the server behind the bar that I was there to pick up my order, and she went back to check. When she returned, she told me that there were no pickup orders. I showed her the email with my order number and told her that I never received a confirmation from them. She went back into the kitchen, then came back and said they didn't have my order, but could make it while I waited - about 10 minutes. I reluctantly agreed and waited. When I got my order, I asked for a few extra cups of sauce. The server was put off, as if asked to perform an overwhelming task. Needless to say, I left the establishment with a less-than-favorable taste in my mouth. 24 hours later, I received a text from them that my order was confirmed and would be ready to be picked up. I texted back that this was 24 hours late and to cancel the order. The reply was that their texting service was unavailable, and to call for questions. I then replied to the confirmation email, hoping that would get through to them. No such luck. The reply I received said that delivery had failed - that their email box was full. I will say that the food was good, and that the server was mainly friendly. However, the whole online ordering system needs some serious revamping. I hope that Whiskey River will take this review as constructive criticism so that future customers will have an easier, smoother online ordering experience.

This is a little local stand in Nampa, that is a little hard to get to, but well worth it. And when I say little, I mean little. It is only a drive-thru with no indoor seating. And when I say hard to get to, it's in the middle of a couple of one-way streets so you might have to go around the block to get there. I had a Cheddar Burger with Bacon and Cheese sticks. The burger was very tasty, and one you would expect from a mom-and-pop burger stand. I will say the Cheddar and bacon were both very flavorful. But the killer was the Cheese Sticks. OUT OF THIS WORLD. By far the greatest cheese sticks I have ever had in my life. I was going to order onion rings, but I changed to cheese sticks and they kind of threw me when they asked if I wanted cheddar, mozzarella or pepper jack (I should have known right there). I ordered the small order of Mozzarella Cheeses sticks. When I got them, you can tell they are obviously home-made. And the small order - HUMUNGOUS, but I ate every single one. I am only visiting the area, and am staying by the Boise airport, and have no reason to go back to Nampa, but right now I am contemplating if I want to drive back over there to get more. Long story made longer, ended up going back a couple days later so I could share some with my wife and she concurred, best ever cheese sticks. Ended up talking to the owner and he verified that it is a house made breading. And the cheese is a specialty Mozzarella which is super creamy and stays melted for an extra long time.

I've read a lot of reviews on Yelp and I can't say that I've ever experienced poor or rude service, but there have been several inconsistencies from receiving overcooked burgers, undercooked fries or having to wipe down our table to eat. That said, these issues happen, sometimes more often than others, but not enough times to ward off future visits. There was a small line to order when we arrived, so we ordered through the kiosk without issue. This actually prompted others to order through the kiosk as well. After ordering, we walked up to the register to get our drink cups and were quickly greeted by a smiling, lovely employee who promptly gave me our cups. I ordered the new Parmesan chicken club, which unfortunately does not come in a combo...so I ordered the 50/50 (fries and onion rings) and my husband had the charburger with cheese combo. Our food came out quickly and looked stunning! The cheese was melted around the grilled chicken, the bacon was crispy, ingredients were fresh and the bread was toasted to perfection. My only disappointment is that the 50/50 is almost $5 as a side....and I felt like there wasn't enough fries and only 4 small onion rings. Fries were mostly undercooked as well. However, the sandwich was absolutely delicious. My husband's charburger tasted great, but was a tad disappointed as the burger patty was much thinner than other visits. It was almost $34 for lunch and we almost feel like we didn't get our money's worth.
