The patties were much smaller and they give you a small bag of chips to go with it. Although the burger was decent, I feel like the quality and the price point did not meet the value of it. It is at the Greenacres location so if you get to have a burger there you can enjoy the music that's in the area or choose from other options. Because we weren't too satisfied from the volume of the food we ended up having to get food from another food truck. Wouldn't be my first pick out of all the options there.

Dean and Christine Hummer are the owners/operators of this wonderfully potato-centric business that has been in business for about a year. Dean spends hours hand cutting and blanching his waffle fries, which are the best I have ever had. There are a number of local businesses that are doing hand cut fries, but the majority are not taking the time to properly prepare them. Hand cutting the fries it's just the first of three critical steps. You must soak fresh-peeled, washed and cut fries in cold water overnight to remove the excess potato starch which prevents fries from sticking together and helps achieve maximum crispness. Then you briefly poach/blanch them in hot boiling water before you put them into the hot oil. This ensures that the fries are cooked all the way through before getting crisped up in the fryer. You do pay more for fresh cut fries that are properly prepared because they are so labor-intensive. They are well worth every penny. For my first visit, I tried "The Reuben" ($11), which is one of my favorite sandwiches. The Reuben consists of pastrami, melted Swiss cheese, 1000 Island dressing, sauerkraut and onions on top of waffle fries. For me, everything about this dish was perfection. All of the individual ingredients were of the highest quality and worked well together. I can't wait to return to try more of Fusion Frites dishes! Everything on the menu is gluten-free! Part of the reason why Dean and Christine started Fusion Frites is because Christine needs to eat gluten-free. Struggling to find gluten-free restaurant options, when ordering sandwiches and other options, she became accustomed to asking servers to skip the bread and put the sandwich fixings on top of french fries. This review is for the new Boise Bite food truck…read more So, not sure where to start because the one liners almost write themselves. Boise Bite because the serving size is literally one bite of food? Maybe call the truck Boise Appetizer? Here's the deal, my wife and I rode our bikes out to WestVet in Garden City while on vacation because we heard this truck was going to be there and they had lobster rolls. On their Instagram page, they advertised 11-2 (thurs 7/23). We got to WestVet at 1145 and the truck was just pulling up and they promised they'd be ready by noon. Two young guys driving and we asked about the lobster roll which they promised would blow our mind. So...we took the bait and ordered two lobster rolls for $21 each along with one La Croix for $2. Tax and tip...$53 AT A FOOD TRUCK. My wife's name got called and we got the two boxes....I honestly thought they were empty. It felt like nothing was in them. My wife peeked in to look at the lobster roll and it was the saddest little thing I've ever seen. Seriously, take a hot dog bun like you'd get 10 of them for .99 cents and picture that...but then imagine the bun was 1/3 of that small ass size. Then imagine it opened up with lobster spread across 75% of it....and nothing else. It looked like somebody packed up their leftovers and put it in a box given how much food was actually there. Was the lobster roll good? Yep...it was a different take (dijonaise instead of mayo or butter) but it worked. Here's the deal tho. You can't just open a truck, rip-off your customers, and expect the margins you are making now to persist as you will literally have no repeat business. Learn to provide quality and value...even a side of potato chips or reducing the cost of the roll to match what you are actually serving will go a long ways towards building trust with your customers and repeat business. Or, ignore this paragraph and learn the hard way. Bottom line, I've warned all of you. The pictures on Instagram and FB are misleading, the amount of food you get is disappointing at best, and the prices you are going to pay are going to leave you dejected. Out of principle, I won't eat at Boise Bite again and I'd also encourage everyone to avoid until they figure out how to balance earning a living with pleasing customers.

Kanak Express food truck, Sunday July 13th lunchtime at Green Acres Boise…read moreBeen awhile since I had visited Kanak Attack, the food truck started up in 2009 and the business model now includes a mobile group that supports fire fighter activities, as well as a permanent catering division at Lake Harbor with a restaurant. As with any food truck, some of the hardest part of finding them is knowing where to look. I've had the best luck by following Kanak on Instagram, but you can also look up Green Acres by Shoreline Drive on Pioneer street (new location) to see the multiple trucks scheduled that week. Another source I use a lot is the Treasure Valley Food Truck Finder (formerly Boise Food Trucks) on Facebook. Like most food trucks that feature proteins, the prices have jumped up in the last two-three years. A salad with protein is the best bet for bargain hunters at $10, or the three tacos (see menu photo) but I have found that getting the twenty dollar "Two Entree Plate Lunch" works out pretty good as it's usually enough for one meal immediately and another reheated in the microwave (rice) and air fryer (meat). The plate lunch includes a) choose a rice, b) choose a salad and c) choose a protein. My favorites are the Kalua Pig, which is smoky, shredded pork that is juicy, not overly fatty, but maybe to salty for some. I saved most of this and made enchiladas the next day at home. Teriyaki chicken is the same price, add a $1 for the Katsu Chicken which was juicy and crispy with the breaded fried exterior and includes a dipping sauce that's a little sweet and addictive, it's so good. Used to plain macaroni salad? Hawaiian style is a little different, but delicious and is usually the first side I finish. If you are a first timer, don't be afraid to ask for help figuring out what to order, the crew usually takes the time to answer questions and guide you. The rest of the food, bland...except for the noodles that had a burnt oil flavor from the metal flat top...not at all appealing...don't have to worry about eating too much. The Crab Rangoon were bad as well! All fried wonton, no filling...like dime-bag full! Very easy to fold these for some better presentation but I think then it would really accent the fact they were basically empty of fillings. Would not recommend! He has blessed the treasure valley with amazing food and service. This food truck makes for a great lunch or dinner. Today's lunch consists of a side of fried rice, side veggies and some appetizers. The fried rice is so good! You can taste the garlic butter that's used to seasoned the rice. It's a great combination of buttery and savory. I love the minced up carrots and onions in the rice, it gives it great texture. The veggies are always cooked to perfection! I love the slight char the vegetables get from the hot grill. The zucchini and broccoli have a slight crunch to them and is not overcooked. The egg rolls were fried to a perfect golden brown. Crunchy and savory. The crab rangoons are my favorite! There's more than just cream cheese in the middle! You can taste the extra goodies in there, crab and green onion. The wrapping to cream cheese ratio is great! Paired with the sweet and sour sour, chef's kiss! It's always busy at the food truck. Everything is made fresh to order. Staff is always friendly. If you're ever in the area of Hiroyuki Hibachi, you should totally try it out!
