Birria Consome with Ramen noodles
Steve M.

Why have I taken so long to try this place? The service was great and employess very knoweldgable about the food. The decour was spacious and mariachi music blastin on the speakers was a good touch. They did not dissapoint and I will say its cuz of the consome! It was really flavorful with the right amount of salt and balanced really well. Their tacos were filled with meet and oozing cheese. They use corn tortillas and soaked them in the consume before grilling to perfection. Definitely get the tacos! Every time. I also tried their birria ramen. The noodles left a ton of room to be desired(they reminded me of Maruchans) but they loaded it up with beef and all that tasty consome as the broth. With that price point, y'all gotta step up the noodles! With that said, if on this side of town, this is legit birria and worth the stop!

Mexican Coca Cola

I follow this guy on Tik Tok who's goal was to try tacos from all 50 states. Garnacha Que Apapacha was on his list. He tired it and gave them a high score. My friend also highly recommend this joint so of course we had to try it out today. Who doesn't want birria tacos on Valentines day? I remember when this venue opened up back in the early 2K. It's been several different restaurants and it's cool that this joint is filling this space. Walking in it's very colorful and fun. You got music going, people eating and chatting. It has a pretty cool and chilll vibe. I usually order one quesabirria taco and a smaller street taco. It's more than enough for me. Unfortunately this joint doesn't have the smaller tacos so I got two quesabirria tacos. And of course I needed the bottle of Mexican Coca Cola to go with my tacos. They have quite a few Jarrito options. That will be a must for my next visit. I headed to the salsa bar and grabbed some green salsa. You can also grab your utensils, napkins and water there as well. Everything was nicely placed and organized. Our buzzers went off to grab our goodies and boy, they looked so good on the tray! The consomé was pipping hot in the container. The tacos were golden with charred bits of cheese. There was fresh cilantro, lime and onion that you can add to your taco. Everything looked fresh! I squeezed a good amount of lime onto the taco. Added the onion and cilantro. I needed the whole experience. Dipped that baby into the consomé. Wooooooowwww. It was so good! The cheese pull was fantastic. The meat was tender. The lime added such a nice freshness to the taco. The consomé was salty and added a nice addition to the taco. It was absolutely delicious! I was only able to finish one. They are loaded with birria. I didn't end up using any of the green salsa. Everything was so flavorful that it didn't need the extra sauce. If you're looking for a hella good quesabirria taco, Garnacha Que Apapacha is the joint you need to hit up! You won't be disappointed.

Really wanted to like this spot for birria, right at Regal Theaters. But just not great. Found hair in food too. Ick.

Quesadilla $15 and some change

Super tasty and great atmosphere. The ramen was HUGE ! We got a choco flan , homemade horchata , ramen and a quesadilla and it was about $46 .. a bit pricey in my opinion but the flavor was 100% there !

Two quesobirria tacos, no consume. They did not need to get dipped after I stuffed them.

I had high expectations coming here, what with all the hype. Garnacha Que Apapacha exceeded their fanfare. Two quesobirria tacos, no consume. They did not need to get dipped after I stuffed them with the cebolla, cilantro and fried onions. These tacos are not street tacos. They are huge and full of stuff. $5 each seems a little steep, but not after trying to pick one up to eat it. I am still looking for more places who serve quesobirria tacos. Comparison to places I have already reviewed, makes this the top pick so far. Decent parking and lots of room in their dining area and patio.

Love the interior! The artwork is fun.

I'm so happy I can finally check this place off! I've been wanting to try "the best birria in the Treasure Valley" for years now. This is comfort food! My husband and I enjoyed 2 Quesabirria Tacos ($4.99 each) and the Birria Burrito ($16.85) with consome ($1.75 for 8 oz). The prices seem a little steep, but you sure get what you pay for. Our tacos and burrito were loaded with juicy, tender meat and plenty of cheese. There's so much flavor in each bite. I think they did excellent with the spices. I also loved the giant slices of grilled onions. Both items were delicious, but the tacos are the real showstopper. They've got all the taste and goodness the burrito had but with a nice, crispy crunch that really made the meal! My only point of criticism is the extra charge for consome. It's cheap, but I've never had to pay extra so it surprised me. IMO, you need it for the full, delicious experience. I got lucky and noticed last minute that it was an optional side order, otherwise I would have completely missed out on it. I'd suggest building it into the prices of the meals. I'd say yes, give this place a try! I've already got my eyes on that PizzaBirria for my next visit.

#12 it was 13.25$ and could only eat half of it! it's like a mexican style french dip

fire #12 on the menu, cheap and a large serving great to hit before or after the movies (:

Quesabirria- not too salty and perfect with their sauces
Steven E.

Had the quesdabirria taco (2) but could have gone 1. Fabulous and perfect for the red, green, or consome or all at once. Partner had the birria burrito which I tasted. One of the top burritos I have had. This place is a keeper

This place is honestly the best place to come and get Birria tacos. Today, I also ordered the chocoflan, and the chocolate cake was moist and good. The flan part was absolutely delicious. I had to order a full one for a party I have coming up. The server is always great they greet you with a smile and are always happy to see customers come in, especially when they are returning customers. The spot is very open, with lots of available sitting. I can't wait for the summer to be able to sit outside and enjoy Birria tacos. Today, my kid ordered the burrito to go. I will post a picture as soon as she lets me lol. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of food and price of this great establishment.

Love garnacha's new location! Went for burritos after a movie the other week and did not leave disappointed. The burrito was huge and was enough for two meals. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and how much fun stuff there is to look at on the walls.

Two Birra tacos. One with and one without cheese

They serve only beef in tacos. This place would be more popular if they add chicken, pork and shrimp in menu.

The menu has a few things you can order from burritos, tacos, tortas and other fun items. We ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and it has rice, beans, meat of choice & lettuce and avocado it was pretty good. We got some tacos as well and not sure if she mixed up another ordered but we were short 3 tacos on our order and that was a bummer.. I was really looking forward to them. Their asada, carnitas, el pastor were all really good and authentic flavor and loved that the pastor had the pineapple chunks as well. One thing I did dislike was I asked about chips order and it said $5 when I asked her if I can just have a couple, she was a bit confused and asked the lead there. Apparently they didn't have chips in their truck and had to go find them. That should have been my no thank you but I figured ohh let's give them a try. Once we got to our house and saw the $5 chips I was honestly a bit upset they were store bought nacho chips. Tacos are $2.50 I don't understand why chips are $5 and they aren't even like your traditional Mexican chips or something along those lines. That was my only downfall to this place but those are just chips. Their food was honestly good no doubt about it when we were ordering they had a few people eating there and a few to go orders. Maybe take them off the menu or make little baggies and purchase chips from a Mexican store or make your own tostadas..

We were extremely surprised by the quality of food and SIZE of each item. The photos do not do the food here justice. Everything was excellent and flavorful. The service was welcoming and attentive. We dropped in for Taco Tuesday and were thoroughly impressed by both the kitchen's creativity and the charming atmosphere. The Food The star of the night was undoubtedly the OG Crispy Tacos. At a fantastic $5 Tuesday special, these are a masterclass in nostalgia done right. They feature a unique "crispy soft shell" that provides a satisfying crunch without shattering, loaded with seasoned ground beef, fresh lettuce, cheese, pinto beans, and a hot sauce that packs just the right punch. It's the ultimate elevated comfort food. I also branched out to try the Korean Short Rib Taco ($8). This is where Madre's "boutique" identity really shines. The richness of the short rib was beautifully offset by the acidic crunch of kimchee and pickled relish, while the peanut sauce added a creamy, nutty depth that tied the fusion profile together perfectly. Drinks & Atmosphere To wash it all down, I opted for a classic Daiquiri, which was balanced and refreshing--clearly made by someone who understands craft cocktails. My fiancé enjoyed The Bruce, a crisp, local beer that paired effortlessly with the bold spices of the tacos. And before we left, we split a margarita. The atmosphere at Madre is "quaint" in the best way possible. We chose to sit on the patio, which offers a lovely outdoor escape. The setting is so integrated with the neighborhood charm that we even had a local squirrel zip right under our feet across the patio--a moment that added a touch of whimsical, nature-filled character to our meal. Service The service was top-notch; our server was genuinely friendly and attentive without being overbearing, ensuring our drinks stayed full and our Taco Tuesday experience was seamless. Final Verdict Madre - Boutique Taqueria manages to feel like a hidden gem while delivering world-class flavors. Whether you're there for the high-value OG specials or the more adventurous fusion offerings, you're in for a treat. We'll definitely be back for more patio time!

Meal of a beef tomal and azada enchalada with beans and rice. The beef tomal was pretty flavorless. The azada in the enchilada was the same used in the street taco, so it was really good. But then generic enchalada sauce, basic refried beans, and rice that was so dry there were crunchies - but not like the good, flavorful, caramelized paella crunchy. Asked the manager if they made the tomals because it was a way different beef flavor, and she insisted "yes." She was very disengaged, but at least I saw someone in the dining room cleaning the tables. Second meal was a pork tomal and lingua enchilada with beans and rice. Pork was better than the beef. There were a couple bites of the lingua that seemed... a little off, like it was old. Same beans, but at least the rice this time wasn't as dehydrated. The person attending the counter seemed to have an attitude and didn't feel like he wanted to be there. Never saw any of the tables wiped off in my 45 minutes there for lunch. So, street tacos - fantastic. Everything else so far, basic Mexican fare.
