Green salsa and fresh lime
Dani S.

I was in the mood for some quesabirria today so I stopped into Taqueria Las Brazas today. Walked in and nobody was really up front. It did take a minute for someone to come out. When someone did, i was greeted with the most beautiful smile and hello! I appreciate how genuine she was greeting me. I had a couple questions about the menu. She answered them, got my goodies ordered and went on my way to find a table. I must have just missed the rush cause a majority of the tables were dirty. Dirty with food, cups and plates. I found a smaller table and just hung out till my food was ready. For lunch I ordered a carne asada taco, shredded beef taco and a quesabirria taco. At first look these babies were stacked! There was so much meat in eat taco. They were not lacking for sure! I grabbed some fresh lime and green salsa from the sauce bar. I started off with the quesabirria taco. It was hearty with birria meat. It was tender and flavorful! The carne asada taco was topped with fresh onion and cilantro. The meat was savory and abundant! I didn't get a chance to try the shredded beef taco just yet, I was too full. I did enjoy the flavors of the meat but the carne asada was on the dryer side. Adding lime and salsa did help but it was hard to chew. The quesabirria taco shell a a little too soft for me. I would have like a crispier texture to the corn tortilla. It also lacked cheese. There was no cheese pull what so ever. I'm happy that they sell single quesabirria tacos. It was nice to try it out at this joint. My first impression of this place wasn't the best considering the place was dirty. The food was decent but you get a lot of bang for your buck which is nice in today's economy. But I will give credit to the great customer service is was given!

CARNITAS AND ADOBADA. 99 CENTS EACH
Sergio A.

They have better pricing than most for 3 quesobirria tacos. Under $10. They have beer. Their weekday special is 99 cent tacos from 2 to 6 with a good choice of fillings. Salsa bar. They have menudo every day with hominy (unlike many other places). The menudo is a bit pricey (over $13). Tried the carnitas and adobada. Both good. Super fresh tortillas. Salsa bar has hot to mild salsas. Definitely a good deal during their 99 cent hours. Clean place, good parking, lots of tables.

Hello Fine People of Yelpers! This taqueria is fairly new. Went there with my Honey Buns. We place the order at the counter. I ordered a wet carnitas burrito meal and he ordered a regular carnitas burrito. Was so nice they had horchata as a refillable option by the soda machine! Honey wanted to know what was roasting behind them. Was Al Pastor, said the nice man behind the counter. We did our order, got our drinks, and I asked the young man for a sample of the Al Pastor. He did bring it to the table and it was wonderful! Can't wait to go back again just for that in a dish!

Las Brazas we love you!! The go-to place for mexican food in Boise. The tacos Al carbon are a fave. They are usually pretty quick making the food and pretty quick to order via yelp too. Pretty chill resturant, nothing fancy.

With my new kidney, I had to get my own sides since I can't really share food with my friends. I got some chicken tortilla soup and some brussel sprouts. The nachos did look amazing but I knew it we going to be too much food for me. Soup was full of chicken, corn and tortillas. The broth was rich and savory. It could have been a tad warmer but it was still delicious. My brussel sprouts were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I love the sweet and savory glaze that we used! Every bite was delicious. Service was great tonight. Our server did a great job making sure our drinks were never dry. The atmosphere here is always on point. The food was fantastic as always. I look forward to coming back for another round of happy hour soon!

Such weird and potentially homophobic behavior from the waitstaff here last night. (My best friend i was with and her fiance are lesbians so i am not sure whether or not the staff's behavior had to do with that or if they are just normally this rude) Walked in with a group of friends for one of their birthdays just trying to find a place for a nice dinner. According to the waitlist we were supposed to be seated fairly quickly (within 10 minutes we were told) but we ended up waiting for about a total of 30 minutes. We waited patiently outside for about 20 and then decided to step inside to see what was going on. Waitstaff had about 4 tables that they were dealing with but there was honestly probably more servers than active tables in the restaurant, there was a NUMBER of open tables while we stood at the front confused since we were the ONLY people waiting. Not a glance from any of the servers, not a "have you been helped yet?" nothing. We continued to stand there as 3 servers bussed ONE table together which was just so completely bizarre and they clearly were trying to avoid acknowledging our presence. As a server herself, one of my friends was just completely confused as to how multiple servers came up to where we were standing to use the POS system and then walk off without saying a word to us. When my friend inquired with the waitstaff about why we hadn't been seated yet, she rudely said "YOURE ON THE WAITLIST SO YOU NEED TO WAIT". We went to the funky taco next door, who had us greeted & seated immediately. The Matador will never have our business and we certainly wont be recommending them to anyone, ever. FYI Matador, this seems like an ongoing issue for you with your hosts and servers being miserable people after looking at your one star reviews so you might want to do the same and do something about it before you continue losing out on business.

Walking in, this place is so colorful and vibrant! I love the pretty water fountain as soon as you walk in and the pretty art piece that was hanging above it. The whole venue looks like a fiesta so you know you're about to have a great time! We got sat. A sweet gal dropped off a couple waters, chips and salsa. Nothing like starting your afternoon with chips and salsa! Adri came shortly after and grabbed drink orders. I got a virgin mango margarita today. She asked if I wanted the rim salted or tajined. I totally would have but I have to watch my salt intake. Without the salt and tajin, that mango margarita was money! It was so good! It was perfectly blended! It had a good amount of mango to it. It was absolutely delicious! For lunch I got a shredded beef taco and shredded beef enchilada for lunch. It also came out with a side of rice and beans. The plate looked fabulous! I appreciate the peas and carrots in the rice! It added another texture to it. The rice and beans were nice and hot! Super tasty! The beef in my enchilada was tenders and flavorful. The sauce was rich in color and flavor. I like that there was a slight heat to everything. It wasn't overwhelming. I didn't get a chance to eat much of the taco. I did take a bite and it was good! I do wish that the tortilla didn't get all soggy. One side of the taco was great but the other was drenched in fluid. I also did find hard pieces of rice in the side of rice i got. Kind like it's been sitting too long and it dried out. It wasn't the best the chew. I'm happy I got to try this joint out today! Adri was fantastic and did a great job taking care of us! My margarita was top notch! The food was good and the venue was so much fun. Looking forward to coming back and trying other goodies of their menu with another bomb ass margarita!

I've been here for almost 2 years and the BEST Mexican food I have found was in Twin Falls. NO I do not want to go to Twin Falls to get Mexican food, especially w/ the price of gas now. I was searching online for a new restaurant to go to for lunch and for some reason "Garibaldis Garden City" popped up. First, Garibaldis, does not really sound like a Mexican restaurant, but after reading the reviews and checking out their website, I am thinking why not...can't be any worse than Andrades, Chapala or Barrigas. Went in around noon, not crowded, but again its gorgeous outside, and I like a relaxed atmosphere. We sat at the bar, our server (bartender) Michael (who is from San Diego) was great. We really didn't need any recommendations because I already had set in my head what I was going to order. We started out with the "salsa flight", 3 different salsas, 1 smokey hot sauce, 1 more chunky and a mango habanero" which all 3 were very good. I loved that there was actually some spice and heat in all 3. Okay, the Mango it grows on you, the more you eat it the better it gets. We also ordered a maggie on the rocks w/ Casa Amigos Reposado and a ranch water with the Blanco. I also ordered the Coctel Garibaldis, which is shrimp & octopus and the shrimp was nice and large and the octopus was a nice size, NEITHER was mushy, THEY BOTH tasted so fresh (enough to share). For our main, Chicken Fajitas and Carne Asada....I normally do not like the refried beans here in Boise at the Mexican restaurants we have tried, but these beans tasted like HOME, LIKE MY MOTHER IN LAW MADE THEM~! The chicken fajitas ...there was actually MORE CHICKEN than peppers which is a 1st...and it was huge slices and chunks. My Carne Asada, OMG, huge amount and it was so flavorful, I doubt I could have done any better. NOW, I am a tortilla snob and I make my own flour tortillas, but THEY HAD SERIOUSLY LITERALLY the best DAMN corn tortillas I have tasted in YEARS! They almost look like flour, but once you taste them, incredible. We (he) ordered the Coco Flan for dessert, I don't do dessert so I ordered the Casa Azul Anejo....met 2 women drinking Maggies, we agreed, if we are going to do calories, we are drinking them and not eating them...but in all, the SERVICE, Food, the atmosphere, was all worth it. Will we go again, YOU BET, I may even have to sneak over for a few lunches by myself it was that good. Again, thanks Michael, you were on Point!

We got some tacos as well and not sure if she mixed up another ordered but we were short 3 tacos on our order and that was a bummer.. I was really looking forward to them. Their asada, carnitas, el pastor were all really good and authentic flavor and loved that the pastor had the pineapple chunks as well. One thing I did dislike was I asked about chips order and it said $5 when I asked her if I can just have a couple, she was a bit confused and asked the lead there. Apparently they didn't have chips in their truck and had to go find them. That should have been my no thank you but I figured ohh let's give them a try. Once we got to our house and saw the $5 chips I was honestly a bit upset they were store bought nacho chips. Tacos are $2.50 I don't understand why chips are $5 and they aren't even like your traditional Mexican chips or something along those lines. That was my only downfall to this place but those are just chips. Their food was honestly good no doubt about it when we were ordering they had a few people eating there and a few to go orders. Maybe take them off the menu or make little baggies and purchase chips from a Mexican store or make your own tostadas..

It's been a while since he has had their tacos so today for lunch he asked me to grab him some. It's my first time in this joint. Walking in, it's quite loud and fun! It's got music going. Many patrons eating and talking. There are bright colors and banners everywhere. It looks like a fun and vibrant venue to have a good meal at. I ordered at the register. The gal that was helping me gave me basic service. Your average customer service. I grabbed 4 carne asada tacos without onions and cilantro for the husband and the chicken flauta combo meal for myself. I grabbed a table to hang out at while my order was being made. I wanted to grab some salsa to go at the sauce bar. There wasn't any to go cups available so I did ask someone for some. She said she would go grab some for me and never did. My food finally showed up and I had to ask another gal for the to go cups. I finally got my sauces and headed out the door. First glance at the food, I was excited! Everything looked fresh and delicious. The cheese was melty on the tacos. The quac, rice and beans looked good in my to go plate. But looks can be deceiving. Unfortunately, the carne asada was so dry. Dry in texture and just tough. Like the meat has been sitting for a while and they just grabbed the top helping of meat instead of mixing it. We did add a good amount of lime to add some wetness to the taco but it didn't help. Out of 4 tacos, my husband only ate 2. The chicken flautas looked promising. The tortilla was airy and crispy. I wish I can say good things about the chicken. The chicken pieces were too big. You would take a bite and the whole chicken chunk would come out. It was also dry and unflavored. The only thing that slightly helped the flauta was the sour cream and quac. The rice and beans were pretty generic so they were good. I spent 32 bucks on this meal for us to only eat half of. I don't know what happened for my husband to say the tacos were legit a while back to end up ordering this mediocre meal today. So disappointed with every part of my meal. Customer service was ok. So many fantastic Taquerias out there but this joint isn't one of them.
