We didn't do our Sunday ritual today and go to Moon's downtown. My husband and I were out running…read moreerrands in Meridian so we decided to keep breakfast easy this morning and head to Sarah's bagel shop. I have been to the downtown location and had such a good experience there. The staff there was so friendly! Unfortunately, today's visit at it's sister location was not the same. Walking in, the joint is really bright and clean. I appreciate the huge menu boards of all their items. Everything looked so good at first glance in the display case. We hung out for a second going over everything when the employees started coming out. We weren't really greeted. No one really said hi. Finally a gentleman stood there to take our order. I got my husband's order taken care of. I still needed a minute and finally decided on my sandwich. And this is when things really started to go down hill. We stood at the counter waiting to pay. Waiting, waiting, standing there like a couple idiots. The young gal behind the counter let some other customer cut us off and pay for some random drinks. And then we just stood there. I asked the gal if she was going to ring us up and she said no. "Go sit down and you pay when you get your food". Well, that would have been nice to know if someone would have told us that in the first place. We finally paid for our order, got our food and a table. For brunch I grabbed a tasty turkey sammy on a croissant. My husband got a egg, ham and cheese on a croissant. We also snagged a couple smoothies. We got lemon mango and peach. Our sandwiches were nicely made. My sandwich had fresh veggies in it, a good amount of turkey and the herb cream cheese was savory. My husband devoured his breakfast sammy. The croissant was buttery and soft. It honestly was a great sandwich. If you're planning on selling boba in your teas, coffees and smoothies, please make sure the boba pearls are edible. It was amazing how many uncooked boba pearls were on the bottom of my smoothie. Hard, inedible pearls. How embarrassing. I didn't even order them in my smoothie but I got them. I paid for inedible boba pearls so make sure you specify if you want them or not. As gross as they were, I would recommend a hard no on the boba pearls. The smoothies itself were good. The lemon mango was refreshing even though it was thick and hearty. The peach smoothie was really tasty as well. They are gracious with their sizes. I got medium and barely drank half. I will say their smoothies are pretty legit. As good as the sammys were, I just can't get over the rude staff and my hard boba pearls. For me, I rate on the whole experience and I just can't go higher than a 2. Communication with your customers is so important and clearly this joint lacks it. So basic but not given here. I'll stick to the downtown location for my future Sarah's bagel visits from now on. I want to enjoy my food that's prepared by a nice staff.

We haven't been in here for a meal, usually just a beer and a crowler if we find something we like…read more Nicely decorated with beer signs and 7 TVs for the sports enthusiast. There is also a music box, dart game and pool table. Plenty of tables to enjoy your food or a brewski. I was looking for a nice red or amber for a beer tasting tonight, but they only had a red rye and the Amber Jack. Unfortunately, they didn't have tops for the Crowler cans and a full growler would have been too much beer and expense. Onto the food. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Ranch Flatbread. The main squeeze ordered the Greek Italian salad with balsamic dressing. The salad was very good and large, all the ingredients were fresh. The flatbread was good, not as spicy as I thought it may be, but I should have asked for pepper flakes. Plenty of toppings on it, the taste was good. The serving tray was cool to the touch. I wish more places would find a way to heat the serving dishes/trays. The food loses it's heat real fast with cold dishes. It was a good lunch, we'll be back to try a wrap and some wings and also pick up a crowler.

It actually breaks my heart that I even need to make this post…read more I've been a regular at Dusty Rose Reserve for quite some time, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I came in as I normally do and was immediately subjected to crude and inappropriate comments from a patron who was making repeated remarks about my appearance. He called me a "four eyes" and a "fucking ginger" because I wear glasses and have red hair. I initially brushed it off and went to sit back down because I wasn't there looking for a confrontation. Later, I went back to the bar simply to ask for some salt for my food. The same man looked at me and said, "They're out of salt, just like you're out of shorts." That comment was heard by multiple regulars and new patrons, and I want to give credit where it's due: several people immediately stood up for me and made it very clear that his behavior was unacceptable. I genuinely appreciated the people who spoke up. Then we found out this wasn't just some random patron. Apparently, this man was the newly hired manager. The bartender working that night was on only his THIRD DAY. When he attempted to address the situation and remove the manager, the manager threatened him by saying, "Remember who writes your schedule. Are you sure you want to do this?" Think about that for a second. A brand-new employee was being threatened with his job by the manager because he tried to stand up for a customer who was being sexually inappropriate and verbally harassed. The owner also threatened to ban us from the establishment for calling out HIS BARTENDER'S behavior. At that point, my friend contacted the owner because we have a longstanding relationship with the owners. Unfortunately, that conversation did not go well. The owner became angry and hung up on my friend. I then called myself because I wanted to speak with Rosie directly, hoping that another woman might better understand why I was upset and uncomfortable with what had happened. Instead, I was told that the manager had already been fired and that it was "not fair" that my friend had supposedly called to yell at his wife. For the record, my friend is one of the most genuinely kind and non-confrontational people I know. He was frustrated, yes, but he is not someone who goes around screaming at people. I repeatedly asked to speak with Rosie directly and was refused. Eventually, I ended the call with, "Thank you for firing the guy, but no thanks on this yelling," and hung up. I'm glad the manager was ultimately fired. However, the fact that it took customers standing up for me, a brand-new bartender putting his job on the line, and multiple phone calls before anything was done is extremely concerning. I've spent a lot of time at Dusty Rose Reserve and have supported this establishment as a regular. I genuinely hope the owners take this situation seriously... not just because of what happened to me, but because of how a newly hired employee was treated when he attempted to do the right thing. No woman should have to walk into a bar and be subjected to comments about her body or clothing, and no employee should be threatened with their schedule for trying to protect a customer. I appreciate the patrons who stood up for me, and I sincerely hope the bartender who was put in that position knows that he did the right thing.

This place knows how to make a sub. It sort of reminds me of how good Quiznos was back in the late…read more90s and early 2000s. The service was awesome and the wait wasn't long at all. The ambiance was typical of a sub restaurant and very clean. I had the 12in Gator and it was filling! All the ingredients were cooked just right and the bread they use is perfect. Flavorful sirloin steak, moist chicken, kielbasa, grilled onions, bacon bits and their swamp sauce all melted together with provolone. My wife had the maple bacon chicken sub which was also very tasty but a lil too sweet for me. Its not on their menu anymore but you can still get it. Its a smokehouse maple rubbed chicken, maple syrup glaze, bacon ,lettuce, tomato and mayo. Will be back to try some other sandos for sure! Meridian finally has a great sandwich shop!

Oh man. Stopped by this place after arriving to Boise for Thanksgiving. Just wanted a quick…read moresandwich. We ordered and no joke sat for 20+ min to get our food. Once our food was brought over, the worker dropped our fries all over the table and then proceeded to ask if we wanted a new order. Um, yes please? Then we started unwrapping our sandwich order and noticed that we got one of our sandwiches as the wrong order, and it turned out that the people sitting across the room from us got our sandwich and we got theirs. So then we had to wait longer for them to remake the sandwich. Our kids ordered the chicken strips, which did not look like chicken when they arrived. The color was very weird. The only thing that deserved a one star was that at the end of our visit, one of our kids accidentally spilt their drink, and the worker came over and took care of it no problem and was very gracious, so that was a bit of a saving grace. Overall, this place is a bummer bummer. It's not that hard to make a sandwich. Wouldn't go back.
