Sorry, I don't have pictures though. A good friend and I were going fishing yesterday, on the Owyhee River, in Oregon. He wanted to get breakfast there so we stopped. My friend had the eggs and hash browns, with sourdough toast. He said all of it was fresh and great. I had the sausage breakfast burrito. It was large, fresh, with sour cream and hot sauce. It was outstanding. I want to go back here and eat again. If you are near there stop in, you won't be disappointed. read more

Although, I did get a few stares when I took photos of the food or those scrumptious cream and fruit pies from Sweet Spot Bakery in Caldwell. The décor is what you'd expect for a small-town community center of activity, green diecast metal models of John Deere and competing brands line the top of the walls on shelving, some vintage signage and some newer ones that favor sarcasm or humor. But my favorite signage advised is posted in the restrooms, the rules of the restaurant. You'll get a breakfast with decent sized orders of chicken fried steak or biscuits and peppered gravy, glass pitchers of syrup and a big scoop of whipped butter for the French toast. The breakfast sandwich, stuffed or cheesy hash browns or a variety of omelets is sure to satisfy you. Real thick sausage patties! Diner style food for lunch with soups and salads, several 1/3rd pound burger variations, fried food baskets that come with Texas Toast and French fries. read more

Was my first time here after moving out this way and OMG! Okay now I know why the parking lot is always full. Hash browns were perfect, eggs were perfect and just all around cozy feel with really sweet and caring staff. Thank you, we will definitely be back. read more

Had the Yeti Burger and an order of sidewinders for lunch while visiting a plant in Caldwell. I did not experience the restaurant as we had carry out. It was a delicious burger and the sidewinders were great. There are a ton of options on the menu. I will be back on my next visit. read more

So typical of me to live not far from somewhere and be late to the game in discovering an amazing spot for breakfast. I have been here twice now in the last couple of months and have been thoroughly pleased with the meal. The menu is packed with your usual favorites, but if you want something different, try the stuffed hash browns. I had the half order with a side of scrambled eggs which was plenty of food! The omelettes are amazing as well. Nathan's is popular out in this neck of the woods and can get pretty busy from what we've experienced. They have more room to eat in the back of the restaurant, but I honestly have not been back there, or even know how to get there! :-D The staff has been amazing and friendly and are on top of their game in keeping my coffee cup full. Perhaps that's not a good thing if you were to ask my better half! Nathan's is worth a stop if your hungry. They serve lunch as well, but I've not been here for that. read more

You cannot go wrong at Nathan's Greenleaf cafe. Just really good people, fresh food and great service. A bargain at the prices they charge. My group of buddies often drive our motorcycles in from the "big city" just to dine at Nathan's. read more

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I really enjoy looking for small mom and pop style breakfast restaurants. First thing I always ask is if the business offers a homemade chicken fried steak, which was a no at Nathan's. So I ended up going for the half biscuit and gravy special, which is one biscuit with 2 strips of bacon. I was just not impressed. The gravy was not very flavorful and neither was the bacon. It was also a very small biscuit, so I'm not sure who could eat just one and not leave hungry. Others in the family had a wide variety of choices from the breakfast sandwich, omelette and pancakes. Everybody just thought the breakfast was "ok." I can understand why locals would eat here as the food was ok, but it isn't something I would travel out of my way for. At the end of the meal we waited forever for a ticket so we could pay. Turns out they just have a bunch of tickets up at the counter and you go up and pay when you are ready to leave. This was a first for me. The waitress did not set our expectations for this so we sat for at least 10-15 minutes longer that we needed to thinking we would get a ticket to pay. read more

Every time I go to pick up pig feed from a local producer I take my son or daughter with me and we go here. It's a classic country cafe and it's perfect. The servers and nice and friendly. The food is exactly what you want from a country cafe with farm pictures up on the walls. We're big fans and the kids really look forward to going here. Can't wait to go back. read more

It's incredibly loud and cramped inside the building. The food and service is slow to come out. The "whole" order of their hash browns is a small plate of food. They couldn't even bring the food hot, it was slightly warmer than room temperature. Their coffee is in a competition with moxie java for the worst coffee I've had in this area. read more

This is THE breakfast spot, after many years of eggs, hash browns and countless coffee mugs, Nathan's is worth the drive hands down! We ran across this spot a few years ago south of Caldwell down Hwy 19 AND it continues NOT to disappoint. The M-TH hours of 6A-2P work for any die hard breakfast eater AND in addition offers great lunch options (including homemade pie) for those adventurous sorts. They are area renowned for the Friday night prime rib dinners, they only last till they run out AND they always do. Nathan's Greenleaf Cafe is a place you might drive by without even realizing it's there- but all the locals know it's a great place to grab breakfast or lunch, especially with a group. Diner style food with everything you would expect on the menu and very reasonable prices. Nothing fancy, but they do well for what they are, which is a small town diner. I came with a group of 5 during a busy weekday lunch. Food came pretty quickly and it was all hot. I got a burger and was very happy with it, but during our visit our drinks weren't refilled and I never got the ranch I asked for. It was very busy, but I think I great server catches these things even while busy. I will definitely be back and I'm happy to support locally owned businesses. read more

The place was packed. We came in with our dad in a wheelchair. I thought maybe it would not work, but they went out of their way to make him comfortable. We got a table in the back room with lots of space. The food was great and the portions were generous. We got pancakes, bacon extra crispy (as we requested), omelet and more. The hot teas were so yummy and they come with 2 servings of tea with many tea choices. The customer service was amazing, even though they were slammed. We never felt ignored or that the staff was overwhelmed. Amazing! We will be back again. read more

Wow! Hate to leave these bad reviews, but my breakfast was horrible. First my omelet were burnt,the Gravy was like grease, and I asked for my toast dark NOT burnt black. Waitress's were more busy talking with the locals then to worry about if your meal was ok or if you needed a refill. Won't be back sorry ! read more

Food was a little above average because of well cooked eggs and good quality ham but not worth the 30 minute drive to get there. Waitresses were friendly but didn't appear to have been trained in common sense. Our 30 minute wait wouldn't have seemed so bad(they were steady but not swamped) but we watched our food sit for about 5 minutes while she did other things that didn't seem like it should've taken priority over delivering hot food-which it was luke warm by the time we got it. A small place, easily overlooked, and that would be a mistake! I had one of the best burgers I've had in years, and the Sweet Potato Waffle Fries were good to. They have quite an assortment of burgers and I had the Kodak. We were too full for desert but they had quite a selection of what looked to be Homemade Pies. read more

Under new management! It's been about a month since the cafe has opened up under new management and so far they have come out a swinging! New menu, updates decor (including updates in the bathrooms), cleaner venue and great food! The owner is in there every day visiting with his customers and making sure they are well taken care of. The waitstaff knows how to take care of their customers and will treat you right! Best part: free coffee to veterans, LEOs and first responders! Talk about remembering those who keep you safe!
