I do ice cream dates with my kiddos towards the end of summer. Getting some quality time in with all of them now that we are heading into the tail end of summer. I was actually supposed to meet my nephew at the new location in Eagle. It's actually closer to us but my sweet nephew got confused and headed down to the downtown location. No problem, I made my way downtown to meet my baby for some aunty/nephew time. It's been a few months since I have been in. The shop is a cute as ever. Merch is now available. The pink t shirt they have available was calling my name! It's the perfect shade of pink and sooooo soft. I will have to come back and really check out the merch. My nephew had already been waiting for me to arrive. He's ready for his ice cream! I noticed that they had pistachio as a flavor at the Eagle location. Kinda bummed that it wasn't available here but sweet cream and chocolate will always be a winning combo here. So today I grabbed a kiddie swirl. My nephew grabbed the medium cup with sweet cream, cherry sauce and brownies. Our ice cream was fantastic. My nephew polished off his big cup. Not gonna lie, all the extras he added made his cup look sooooooo good! I as well polished off mine. Can't leave any behind. We got to hang out with the other customers that were enjoying their treats. It makes me heart so happy seeing all these folks come and support a small local business. It's the best! I am going on another ice cream date with my neice next week. Looking forward to checking out the new venue with her. Still happy that my nephew and I got to come here today to enjoy our sweet treat. We saw this place on our way to dinner and planned to come afterwards. We both just wanted a small simple soft serve. I wanted vanilla which their version of vanilla is sweet cream. It didn't have the vanilla flavor I was craving. My husband got the chocolate which I tried and it tasted much better. The mini size is plenty big by the way. My biggest issue was the parking here. Their parking lot has two spots, that's it! The only parking is on the street...kinda, because there were signs all over that said you had to have a permit, so my husband circled around the block while I got our ice cream. I told the gal at the counter about the parking situation, not that she could do anything about it, but she did say you can ignore the signs in the evening and park anywhere . I guess it's more enforced during work hours. If I lived in the north end I would come back and try their other flavors but I don't so it's probably a one and done for me. This place is very small and cute, but I'd honestly rate it a 3.5. I drove around three times trying to figure out where to park. The signs on the side streets were super confusing and I couldn't understand them. The parking lot was closed off coming in from 12th, I guess it was only able to get into it from the side road, but it was single lane and very narrow. I had no idea if that was the entry to the parking lot or not so I didn't even try. It literally had two spots so I didn't try. One spot was taken and there was a handicap I could have parked in. An older entitled man came and parked in the spot between the handicap spot and the normal spot. The marked off area. The ice cream itself is ok. Nothing that I would want to bother myself with trying to try to find parking with again. The service was good. As soon as I walked in I was asked if I needed any help or wanted to sample anything. I didn't get a chance to look at the menu yet, but it is awesome that they allow you to sample things. I had a twist of sweet cream and chocolate. Small. Fudge and peanut brittle chips. She definitely loaded the small cup up. I had three chips in the cup. The total was under $7, but over $6. I probably wouldn't come back here just because I hate trying to figure out where will I park. I had to park near the fanci freeze. I'm not against walking, I just hate trying to figure out where I'm supposed to park. read more

What amazing toppings. I tried the potato chip brittle, the sweet nuts, and the waffle chocolate crisp on my soft serve. I am truly impressed and the peach and chocolate soft serves were outstanding. Best ice cream in the valley! I feel like Boise is chock full of traditional hard-pack ice cream shops but soft serve and frozen yogurt is hard to find. No longer! Soft Landing just opened on State Street across from DK donuts and it's the best ice cream I've ever tasted (and I've tasted a lot.) Today was opening day and I found my way in. They have five flavors: four dairy and one vegan. The dairy were sweet cream, chocolate, cereal milk, and blueberry, along with a sorbet blood orange. Each one was bursting with flavors with a velvety, creamy texture. It wasn't icy at all or super rich which allowed the flavor to shine. They have a bunch of fun toppings including potato chips and other non traditional things. Portions were reasonable for the price and they can do a cone or cup. Along with ice cream they have a full espresso bar with great coffee so you can get an affogato or a latte along with your cereal milk ice cream. That's breakfast, right? Service was fast and incredibly friendly. The space is bright and clean and would be perfect for a hang with friends or family. The parking lot is teeny tiny but you can park along State or 14th. Both were delicious, as well as the super yummy potato chip brittle I got on top. The huckleberry sorbet was delicious, I really appreciated that it wasn't too sweet. The cone was also great, having a bit more of a cinnamon sugar taste than the usual vanilla cone I'm used to. The service was great. Nice and fast and friendly. If you've had a Wendy's soft serve, then you've had this--only this one is 70% smaller and more expensive. The staff was nice enough, but I just dropped $32 and still had to tip. I took my daughter and Grandbabies for the first time and it's a cute spot. Parking isn't convenient as it's on the corner on State St but we managed. The flavors available were sweet cream, cotton candy, chocolate and ? (I forget) then also a lemon. The toppings were unique, niche I'd say. We ordered the cotton candy and it was not overly sweet and I'd highly recommend (they offer tiny spoons to taste) my daughter loved the sweet cream. They offer cones and bowls. I decided to be different and get the potato chip toffee and that was my mistake, it tasted burned and was almost too hard to bite into. Me and my aunt just tried this place for the first time when she picked me up from the airport for my annual visit and we were really glad we did. The ice cream is really tasty and smooth, just as soft serve should be. There's so many options to choose from you could be there for hours if you can't make up your mind LOL. You can also take some of their ice cream home in small amounts, and they even have ice cream sandwiches in the "fancy" flavors. The servers are super friendly and don't rush you at all. The place is nice and clean and has plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors for lots of families. I've only been to two ice cream parlors in Boise so far (can't remember the other one) but nevertheless I would definitely recommend this place in a heartbeat!! The ice cream was good, but nothing to write home about. They had 6 toppings only, and I wasn't that excited about any of them. This place was adorable! Super fresh, clean tasting soft serve with simple toppings that were free of artificial food dyes and all the icky stuff us crunchy moms try to avoid. To my surprise they had GLUTEN FREE WAFFLE CONES!!! I was so excited!
