This place was packed! As we stood in line, we were greeted by polite employees, and once we ordered our food, it wasn't too bad getting a high‑top table outside--which was great because it was a beautiful day, and their outdoor seating and atmosphere are really nice. We got the El Paso Burrito, the Oink-less Omelet (subbed with egg whites), a side of Spicy Bacon, a Mimosa, and the Spicy Bacon Bloody Mary. The food was delicious, fresh, and very filling. The side of bacon was probably my favorite because it had a great kick and was super crunchy. The Bloody Mary was just OK IMO (I think that's just me not really liking that type of drink anymore), but I'd still recommend trying it if you enjoy them. Overall, I would recommend this place and definitely come back here for breakfast. read more

My friend, Tod wanted to come here to celebrate his birthday. I have never been and this joint has been on my to go list so it was a win win heading to Bacon Boise today! The weather was fabulous so sitting outside in the patio area was the perfect setting for breakfast. We got food ordered at the counter. The gal that was helping was kind but not very helpful. There was a gentleman that was working who stepped up to the plate and helped me out. I wanted hot coffee but since it was self serve, I couldn't have it. I decided not to get coffee but he suggested a cold brew. He had me sold the way he described it to me. So for breakfast today I got a vanilla iced cold brew with Boise Basin omelet. The patio area was perfection. Big orange umbrellas to keep us shaded. Tables nicely spaced so you didn't feel congested. And it's nicely tucked in so that you're not completely exposed to the street. You couldn't have asked for a better setting. My omelet and coffee trickled out. Mannnnn, it all looked fantastic! My omelet was hearty. Prettily garnished with fresh pico. The potatoes were golden topped with fried okra on top. My biscuit looked like it came out of the oven with a side of butter and jam. This plate of mine was going to get devoured! My omelet was fluffy stuffed with bacon, green peppers and onions. I also grabbed a side of sausage gravy to go with it and the gravy was the perfect match for my potatoes. The gravy and omelet was a winning combination too! Ughhhh it was so good. I ate so much of my omelet and potatoes that I ended up taking my biscuit home. I am planning to eat the rest of my potatoes and omelet for lunch later! I also got the pleasure of meeting Mr. John Berryhill. My friend, Tod are friends with John so it was great to see them interact and conversate with one another. I appreciate that he took time out of his duties to chat with us. He also gifted Tod a bag of birthday bacon. What a fun gift to receive! I'm so happy we got to come here for breakfast and celebrate my friend's birthday. The food was amazing. Service was fantastic and the venue is stunning! I first reviewed Bacon about three years ago, and recently had the chance to visit again. One of the highlights of this visit was meeting the owner. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely took the time to connect with guests. I was dining with my daughter, who uses a wheelchair, and his warmth and attentiveness made us feel especially comfortable and appreciated. The restaurant still has the lively atmosphere and unique service style that makes it stand out. The staff was friendly, and the overall experience was enjoyable. As for the food, I was a little disappointed with the beignets this time around. They were much doughier than I expected and didn't have the light, fluffy texture I was hoping for. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but it was definitely the one item that missed the mark for me. That said, Bacon continues to be a great spot for breakfast and brunch, and the hospitality we experienced during this visit left a lasting impression. Meeting the owner and seeing how much he cares about his guests made this return visit memorable, and I'll certainly be back to try more of the menu. read more

Had some family in from out of town this last weekend so I took them to Bacon. They really enjoyed it love the bloody Mary's especially the spicy ones and the food was very good. I stopped by early on Sunday morning because I could not pass on a flight of bacon! Honestly all the food looked good, but I was here for the bacon! The host explained you live up, place your order/pay and are then seated. I did as instructed and was sat at a two top. I loved all the bacon except the " pantry Bacon". Honestly it tasted off, and I did not mention anything to my server as honestly the other flavors were amazing and I was getting full. Next time I visit I will bring a friend and definitely be trying the bacon topped cinnamon rolls as it looked soooo good! The restaurant has ample indoor and outside seating. read more

Bacon flights? Say less. If you love bacon then this might be your place. The place lives up to its name and offers different varieties of flavors of bacon, wraps, burgers, and other brunch items. I wasn't a big fan of my burger but my husband lived his wrap. The bacon flight with a burbon coffee, rosemary, sweet, spicy, and regular bacon was a nice sharing item. First of all, I didn't take enough pictures because the food looked and smelled so good, everyone started eating before I remembered. Bacon & brie sandwich was nice and crunchy with lots of bacon, some tomato, and enough brie to hold everything together. With the tomato soup, it was so nice on a cold morning. Plus, I got an espresso milk punch (like it punches you in the face, but then it wraps itself around you for warm hugs). Daughter had the poutine. Fries, cheese, and eggs, were good, but the gravy! The gravy was so addicting, it was bacony, slightly sweet and buttery. Next time I need to get biscuits and gravy with the punch and it would probably be the ultimate comfort breakfast. Seating is done by the host after ordering, so no one can sit at a table ahead of time, which was nice since it seemed limited for large parties. Ambiance was nice for conversation. read more

Slowest ordering process I've ever experienced. For an "order at the register" establishment, they're at 1/3rd speed, (think bad day at the DMV). 1 hour shuffle: fully inside the main room line to register. Suggestion: have a staffer answer menu questions BEFORE they get to the register. About 1/2 tables were empty too, so it's not a capacity control strategy. Shout out to the super kind (and tall) beverage guy, he seems like the hardest guy working here. The decor is a warmly decorated, fun, porcine themed space. Good news: the Food came out pretty quickly and was super tasty. The drip coffee is properly brewed. If you're enjoying a LAZY day with no place to be, this is a worthwhile visit. What a phenomenal little brunch spot right in the heart of downtown Boise! I was in town to attend our new Community Ambassador's first-ever Yelp Elite Event at a nearby brewery, and we met up earlier in the day to enjoy a late breakfast (or was it an early lunch). We started with their famous bacon flight (highly recommend!) and I grabbed a bloody mary. Then I dove into my delish order of shrimp 'n grits. It was a huge portion that I couldn't finish, but it was quite tasty with plentiful amounts of grilled shrimp atop warm, gooey grits. Did they use a little too much butter in this dish? Probably! But growing up with a stepmom from the south, I could appreciate it just the same. We sat outside on their beautiful patio, and got wonderful service as we chillaxed on a warm Boise morning. I found this spot as a recommendation from TikTok. Great name! Why wouldn't I try it? I ordered the bacon flight that came with 5 different bacons pieces. They were not marked so I had no idea what flavors I was tasting. I could only guess. The bacon was also lukewarm at best. I also ordered the half grilled cheese that had more ingredients than cheese. It came with tomato soup that was chunky with onions and other unknown ingredients. Definitely don't recommend. Lastly, I'm not a fan of tipping before my meal but I did. The standard 20%. My food was delivered with a carafe of water and that was it. Never saw anyone again. Sure it s part of the ambience - but who wants / needs that? I waited in line on a Sunday morning for 40 minutes - and that was before it got busy. And by line - I mean a line. For the uninitiated, you stand in line to order then get your table. On the upside drinks were able to be ordered while in line. Honestly I almost left due to the snail like movement of the line. Not really sure why I stayed other than I was unfamiliar with Boise and didn't want to get stuck waiting somewhere else. In for a penny, in for a pound I guess. I was getting very hangry though. The biscuits. Too much sugar in the recipe. If you like a sweeter biscuit you'll be happy. At the end of the day the line is why I knocked the place to 3 stars. This is the best breakfast place in all of Boise! Not only is the food absolutely delicious but the service is top Tier on every single visit. Today when we were in line ordering, the cooks in the back sent my little one a piece of bacon because they loved his Mario shirt! We stopped off on a 9 day road trip based on a recommendation from friends who live in Eagle. Everything is pretty much bacon and it was incredible. The bacon flight is one of the best things I ever put in my mouth. We live in California and I'd consider making the 10 hour drive to do another meal here. The rest of the breakfast was a bit basic but basic good. However the bacon steals the show. I got a spicy Bloody Mary but not the hottest one. It was flavorful and I enjoyed the drink. My wife and I came here for the first time because today is our wedding anniversary. Bacon Boise was recommended to my wife by our friends. It is located downtown near the corner of Idaho and 9th and actually on 9th. Inside there is lots of wood--chairs and tables and furniture, and a nice bar on the right. The high ceiling is industrial with visible ducting and vents. Lots of light comes in through the front windows. We were greeted by a few young people and given menus and it was explained to us to go to the back and order, then the food will come to your table. My wife ordered a flight of bacon, beignets, a glass of fresh squeezed OJ, and, for her, bacon and eggs, and for me, a bacon, cheese, and veggie omelet. All of the food was delicious, and the staff were all very nice. We live in Star, so this is a bit of a drive. But, since we are retired, we have the time and it was very enjoyable. Bacon used to be my go-to spot for their amazing steak and eggs. Unfortunately they took that off the menu a while ago and replaced it, which has led me to go a lot less. I feel like I've noticed a trend of the quality of service suffering quite a bit, but it could be just because they are usually slammed on the weekends. Sometimes it takes ages to get refills or any other table service. The restaurant is always very nice and clean, with no complaints on the location. read more

Came to Boise on business and needed a quick breakfast to bring back to the hotel while working. Bacon was a great choice! I had the Berryhill and Maple Rosemary bacons, both were a delicious bite of salt, fat, sweet, and heat. I also got the El Paso burrito. It was stuffed full of ingredients and fed me for two meals which made it worth the price tag for me. The service was quick and friendly, they were more than happy to answer questions about the menu and personally handed me my to-go order. The vibe inside of the restaurant was so fun. Food was amazing! There were four of us who came for breakfast and we all enjoyed our food with great feedback from all of us! The bacon was SUPERB and definitely the highlight of the dish! The eggs were perfect with great seasoning and the potatoes were perfect texture with some jalapeño spice to it. We ordered a bacon cinnamon roll and it was suuuper big, about as big as my fist! Definitely a shareable size. The sweetness was balanced with spice and the roll was baked to a crisp on the outside and then soft and caked on the inside. The bacon bits on top added a perfect balance of spice, sweetness, and saltiness with a hint of the bitterness that comes with the taste of crispy bacon. The service was above and beyond! Our waitress was Willa. She has a great spirit of "happy to help" with a side of Care and hospitality. Ambience was very enjoyable with great music and dim lighting with mostly sunlight as the main source. Overall: great place to start the day! Have always loved this restaurant and the food but today was a different experience. I won't be returning anytime soon. I ordered the bacon sampler and when it came out, you could not eat it because it was extremely fatty. We told our waitress who sent the manager out. We asked for a more well done sampler. The manager explained that all of the bacon is the same. Round two came out and every single piece was burnt. There's no way to taste any of the spices because all you tasted was burnt bacon. I have ordered the sampler in the past and never had this problem. My husband also ordered a omelette and it was way overdone and rubbery. He could not eat it, but since we already complained about the bacon, we did not want to complain about the omelette. Also need to mention the manager. Almost like the guy did a whole bunch of Red Bulls before he came and approached our table. My advice would be to tone it down a little bit. During our visit, multiple surrounding tables were using speaker on their devices listening to various videos and podcasts. We checked in to make sure that the eggs were real and crack and got carton eggs that were pasteurized. Employee went to check to make sure but when the food came out it was the wrong eggs. Employee went to check and remade the dish. We were informed later. Bacon tastes good but is covered with honey or something, I don't recall seeing that on the menu. Potatoes and orca were cold. Hmmmmm well, I think I was a little underwhelmed, given how long the line was on a Saturday around noon! We waited EASILY 20+ minutes before ordering and getting a table. However, after ordering, the food came out very quickly. I had the shrimp and grits, which I thought were good but not anything special. They were pretty greasy.
