Very hole in the wall, cash only spot. I like that they are very very clear that it is cash only before they allow you to sit down. There are probably 3 tables and a bar area with about 8 seats. At the bar you can watch the chef make 4 dishes at a time. Pretty impressive. I agree the portion sizes are a bit small for the prices in comparison to other Thai places I have been to. They don't serve tap water either, only bottled. However the food is tasty. I did get the hottest spice level (5/5) and it didn't taste as spicy as other places to me- I do like spicy food, obviously, but it wasn't unbearable. Very busy on a Thursday night, but they get people in and out fast.

Came here on a Saturday night and there was a small line to wait for a seat. It is fairly small inside, so there is not much seating. When we got seated, we were able to see the chef cooking our food, which I thought was cool. We ordered Thai salad, which was a salad that came with chips and a peanut dressing. I ordered the pad see ewe with shrimp and thought it had good flavor. My husband ordered spicy noodle. It was definitely spicy and came with the wider noodles that is similar to pad see ewe. I enjoyed the food here, but thought the serving size was small. I found myself still hungry after finishing my meal. Also, they don't serve alcohol here, so just FYI. Overall, I liked the food here and they had good pricing. I would come back if I was in the area. Btw, they are cash only! There is a Chase bank within walking distance, but make sure to bring cash with you.

cash only!! visiting seattle, my friend's coworker recommended we check out Thai Tom so we can around 7pm on a saturday night. no wait at all but the space is small. it has an open kitchen concept so we saw the chef cooking right in front of us. we split the fried tofu and pad thai (level 2). the fried tofu wasn't anything special, the sauce it came with really saved the dish. the pad thai was delicious! I should've gotten level 1 but level 2 was still good - just slightly too spicy for me haha service was fine, it's such a small space so it was easy to get our server's attention.

It's very nice whenever you get to experience a chef cook right in front of you because it's like a cooking show so the ambiance of the place was very much like a small homie restaurant. It's very small but everyone is usually quick to eat and then go! The servers were really on top of everything, as soon as you see a food is done they'll immediately give it to the table, etc. The food was super good me and my friends we got Pad Thai no peanuts with 1 and 2 star spice, yellow curry 1 star spice, mango sticky rice, and Thai tea's. We finish everything super quick so that's how you know that their food is excellent. I will say though I was not expecting them to take CASH ONLY, but luckily we all had cash with us. So be prepared when you wanna try this place out! The smell of the food will literally catch your taste buds when you're near their outside entrance!

The place is super small so if you have a large group beware!! Also they ONLY accept cash. I would say party max of 4 or even 2 if you want to try this place. Seems pretty authentic and they cook it right there on the grill out in the open. The bad thing about that is that it gets super smokey and I kept coughing and sneezing. It's also very hot if you're there in the summer because there's no AC and you have to pay for water bottles. We didn't want to pay so we just dealt with the heat. Lowkey the servers kind of just sit around at the bar lol. The Pad See Ew (Phad See You) was good though just small portion but I guess it's a good price for Seattle ($14.50)? I got spice level 2 which is their medium spice level but I could've had 3 in my opinion. It was super flavorful so that's the good thing about it and comes super fresh off the grill. I found it more wet than other places I've had. We also got the Mango sticky rice dessert which isn't on the menu but we saw it online. Seems like they don't have it all the time because the waitress said they have it today (possibly a secret menu item but we didn't ask). Mangoes were fresh and the sticky rice and coconut milk complimented each other so well. I recommend going for the food, but just be cautious of the other aspects.

The food here is so good! The place itself is really small and they cook your food right in front of you. But the chefs make the food fast and serve you fast. You do have to pay in cash though so make sure you take some before you go.

Overall, I'd say Thai Tom's food wasn't stellar and the pricing is just okay given the small-ish portion sizes. There was a 10 ish minute wait for a party of 2 at 7 on a weekday. Because the restaurant is pretty small, I'd definitely discourage bringing a large party. Everything is made to order and the place is CASH ONLY. It was a little smokey at the bar seating, but I Pad Thai (3/5): The noodles weren't as springy as I'd like and while the dish was quite spicy for a 3/5, I felt like there wasn't a ton of depth of flavor; I just wanted more acid, sweetness, everything punched up a notch. The wok-fire was nice enough and they aren't too generous with the shrimp even though it's a dollar extra. Thai Wings (4.25/5): This was actually solid: great balance of savory, sweet, and acidic. Wings are slightly crunchy on the outside (fried without a batter) while staying perfectly tender and juicy on the inside.

The wok work here is insane--amazing to watch one guy handle everyone's food like a true master, juggling five to six woks at the same time. Everything comes out piping hot, perfect for a chilly day. I got the Thai curry fried rice, which had the perfect amount of crispy rice granules and a bold, slightly smoky flavor. I went with level 2 spice, and it was a pretty solid heat level for me. It's a small, cozy spot--highly recommend. I think they might only accept cash, or at least they did the day I went, so it's good to have some on hand just in case.

We recently decided to grab takeout for lunch from Thai Tom, a place we used to frequent many years ago. I was curious to see if it still held up! The restaurant was fairly busy, and after placing our order, we were told our food would be ready in about 10 minutes. It ended up being closer to 15, but since we don't live too far away, we were thrilled to find everything still piping hot when it was time to eat. I ordered the Panang curry with chicken, while my kids opted for the Pad See You. I'm happy to report that everyone was satisfied! My Panang curry was wonderfully rich and savory, with perfectly steamed rice and tender, delicious chicken. The kids loved their dish too; the noodles had a delightful warm and smoky flavor, and the sauce was so tasty that they devoured all their veggies! While I'm glad to say the food is just as delicious as I remembered, I did notice that the portions aren't as generous as they used to be. In the past, they piled everything into large white clamshell containers, but now it comes in smaller black lidded bowls that are more manageable for one sitting. Nonetheless, I'm really glad Thai Tom is still around to satisfy our cravings for Thai food!

Does this have to happen every time I order to go? Sadly, was reminded why I don't do take out from Thai Tom. The portions are tiny. Team, you know this is so much smaller than the portions when dining in. Please don't do this to your customers...

Easy to miss hole-in-the wall spot. Very small interior. But do not let any of that fool you. There is SO much character and flavor in this restaurant. Super intimate in a good way with quick and easy service. The food is possibly the best Thai I have ever had, and it is cooked right in front of me. The wings are crispy and have a good sauce. The green curry is exploding with complex deliciousness. So many levels of flavor, and I couldn't get enough. I want to try everything here!!!

My favorite Thai place on the ave!! make sure to bring cash when you go this place and try to avoid busy hours because store isn't very big. They cook in front of you so it can be a bit smoky but the food is sooo good it's worth!

Have been meaning to try Thai Tom for awhile. A friend that is a Chef and owner of a Thai restaurant in Pierce county highly recommended them. So of course I had to go. One of the first things they tell you before you get seated is that it's cash only. I got there about 4:30ish and was able to walk in without a problem there was one other person at the time during the time I was there it began to fill up. I had asked my friend what to order she said she always gets the Tom Kha, that is what I went with a side of rice. Probably wasn't the best weather to be getting soup but didn't matter. When I go to a Thai place for the first time I always get three stars cause I'm not sure what level of spiciness it will be I could've probably handled a four. Most people were Thai Tea I happen to have my water bottle so stuck with that for hydration. the soup was very flavorful coconut milk based. generous portion of chicken and the fresh herbs brighten the richness of the dish. Service is efficient and quick. The space is very casual nothing fancy. not very big a counter that faces where the food is being cooked that probably seats 8 and a couple of four top tables I believe. Definitely would like to try one of the noodle dishes next time.

The noodles were absolutely delicious, packed with flavor. They do spicy on a scale through five, we opted for four out of five for the noodles, I thought we could've gone even one spice level higher. For the curry, we did three out of five, and definitely could've done a spice level higher. The spice scale is definitely catered toward people who like less spicy food, so rest assured three or four is still fairly mild in spice. The quantity of the curry was actually quite small, however, the presentation was beautiful. It was also delicious in taste. Ambience: The restaurant is very ethnic and beautifully decorated. I really appreciated that he went out of his way and got the spice jars for us to adjust the spice level of our food. Something else that I always give credit for is that they pack up any leftover food that you have. Phenomenal service.

*Vegetarian Foodie Review*…read more I just looked at the positive reviews and ended up going here during our trip to Seattle. Omg, what a place! There was a wait since it was the weekend, but we didn't have to wait more then 20 mins after joining the waitlist at the restaurant. What I really liked is that as our turn got close, they started taking our order early so it would be ready by the time we sat down. My husband ordered non-veg, while my 5 year old and I decided to share and just got the "Vegan Thai Fried Rice with Tofu" - requested mild and less oil. The order came within 5 mins since they had taken it in advance. Omg, what a flavor profile! I loved, loved it! I have been to many Thai places, but the vegan food here tasted truly amazing - the best fried rice ever! My daughter slurped it all down really quick too. We both finished every bite. What I especially appreciated was how many tofu pieces they included. Usually I noticed restaurants are stingy with the tofu in fried rice, not sure why, but this place was generous with it. Tofu is a touchy subject for me because my daughter loves it and eats it all, so I hardly get any protein for myself, usually ending up with only 3-4 pieces. But here the tofu portion was pretty good. We loved it so much that we came back again on the last day of our trip, as weekday that time, with no wait time. One more important thing to note: kids get special plates and cutlery here. My daughter got a pink princess plate and OMG, she was so excited waiting for her food just to eat off it. It's a total hit with kids! The ambiance was really nice too, lively and full of super cute murals featuring popular Seattle spots on the walls, Coming back again during our next visit to Seattle for sure!

It was huge and came in a big, wide bowl. He enjoyed the flavor of the yellow curry and building heat of this dish. Make sure to get a steak knife at the front counter so you can cut the meat from the chicken drumstick (if you're not biting into it). Also, if you are a spice lightweight like me, this is not your dish. But if you enjoy spice and curries, you will enjoy this dish. I got the E-Jae House Noodle with chicken and no egg. Wow, their handmade rice noodles were amazing! So soft, tender, and kinda ropey. I loved the texture and taste of this dish. The sauce was light and complimented the noodles, chicken, green onions, and cilantro. It's so great to eat a restaurant dish that isn't too salty or saucy! It comes with a side of chili sauce which I didn't use, but if you like spice, I am sure it was good. We ended our meal by sharing a small order of the Mango Sticky Rice. It was delightful. My concern is not with the meal; it is with the overall hospitality we received. From the moment I entered the restaurant, I observed differences in how guests were greeted and engaged. Some guests were welcomed with smiles, courtesy, and friendly conversation, while my own initial interaction felt more reserved and minimal in comparison. After being seated, I waited approximately 15 minutes before anyone offered me water, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. During that time, other tables around me were served water and received refills more promptly. I was waiting for my friend to arrive. Once my friend joined me, we were asked shortly after if we were ready to order, even though we had not yet had sufficient time to review the menu. Later, when we indicated that we were ready, the server took the menu and walked away without taking our order at that time. One interaction during the ordering process stood out. In general, I observed warm and friendly engagement between staff and other guests. When my friend asked a question, the response we received felt brief and less welcoming in tone and expression, which contributed to our overall impression of the interaction. Standing alone, a single expression or moment could be easily misread, and I would not base a review on that alone. However, within the context of the full experience, it contributed to our perception of inconsistency in service and attentiveness. That pattern continued throughout the meal. Some tables that ordered after us received their food before we did, and appeared to be served more quickly overall. We were also brought to-go boxes without requesting them while we were still eating and in conversation. This made us feel somewhat rushed to finish. The interaction when it came time to pay also felt brief and less engaging than expected. I can only speak to what I personally experienced. The concern here is not a single incident, but the overall pattern of service: delayed water, limited engagement at times, ordering delays, slower food timing compared to nearby tables, and feeling rushed toward the end of the meal. Again, the food was decent, and this review is primarily about the service. Based on our experience, the level of attentiveness and hospitality was inconsistent. For those reasons, my recommendation is maybe. Regardless of the cause, I believe every guest should receive consistent courtesy, professionalism, and attention.

I had chiang mai curry noodle dish. This was excellent. The broth was flavorful and creamy. The egg noodles were good. Normally, I'm a then noodle gal, and these were a little thicker than I would've preferred, But they actually virtually well with the dish. I also enjoyed the pickled veggies at this dish came with. Big pickled veggie scale, so they could do no wrong with this addition. I would love to go back and get some of their appetizers and other dishes Because there were more than a few things that I wanted to try. The service was speedy, and the staff was attentive and friendly.

Not sure if more spacing would've even made a difference. The food was very good. We had skewers, curry seafood stew and steamed chicken. So full we didn't have any dessert.
