Very hole in the wall, cash only spot. I like that they are very very clear that it is cash only before they allow you to sit down. There are probably 3 tables and a bar area with about 8 seats. At the bar you can watch the chef make 4 dishes at a time. Pretty impressive. I agree the portion sizes are a bit small for the prices in comparison to other Thai places I have been to. They don't serve tap water either, only bottled. However the food is tasty. I did get the hottest spice level (5/5) and it didn't taste as spicy as other places to me- I do like spicy food, obviously, but it wasn't unbearable. Very busy on a Thursday night, but they get people in and out fast.

Came here on a Saturday night and there was a small line to wait for a seat. It is fairly small inside, so there is not much seating. When we got seated, we were able to see the chef cooking our food, which I thought was cool. We ordered Thai salad, which was a salad that came with chips and a peanut dressing. I ordered the pad see ewe with shrimp and thought it had good flavor. My husband ordered spicy noodle. It was definitely spicy and came with the wider noodles that is similar to pad see ewe. I enjoyed the food here, but thought the serving size was small. I found myself still hungry after finishing my meal. Also, they don't serve alcohol here, so just FYI. Overall, I liked the food here and they had good pricing. I would come back if I was in the area. Btw, they are cash only! There is a Chase bank within walking distance, but make sure to bring cash with you.

cash only!! visiting seattle, my friend's coworker recommended we check out Thai Tom so we can around 7pm on a saturday night. no wait at all but the space is small. it has an open kitchen concept so we saw the chef cooking right in front of us. we split the fried tofu and pad thai (level 2). the fried tofu wasn't anything special, the sauce it came with really saved the dish. the pad thai was delicious! I should've gotten level 1 but level 2 was still good - just slightly too spicy for me haha service was fine, it's such a small space so it was easy to get our server's attention.

Does this have to happen every time I order to go? Sadly, was reminded why I don't do take out from Thai Tom. The portions are tiny. Team, you know this is so much smaller than the portions when dining in. Please don't do this to your customers...

It's very nice whenever you get to experience a chef cook right in front of you because it's like a cooking show so the ambiance of the place was very much like a small homie restaurant. It's very small but everyone is usually quick to eat and then go! The servers were really on top of everything, as soon as you see a food is done they'll immediately give it to the table, etc. The food was super good me and my friends we got Pad Thai no peanuts with 1 and 2 star spice, yellow curry 1 star spice, mango sticky rice, and Thai tea's. We finish everything super quick so that's how you know that their food is excellent. I will say though I was not expecting them to take CASH ONLY, but luckily we all had cash with us. So be prepared when you wanna try this place out! The smell of the food will literally catch your taste buds when you're near their outside entrance!

The food here is so good! The place itself is really small and they cook your food right in front of you. But the chefs make the food fast and serve you fast. You do have to pay in cash though so make sure you take some before you go.

The place is super small so if you have a large group beware!! Also they ONLY accept cash. I would say party max of 4 or even 2 if you want to try this place. Seems pretty authentic and they cook it right there on the grill out in the open. The bad thing about that is that it gets super smokey and I kept coughing and sneezing. It's also very hot if you're there in the summer because there's no AC and you have to pay for water bottles. We didn't want to pay so we just dealt with the heat. Lowkey the servers kind of just sit around at the bar lol. The Pad See Ew (Phad See You) was good though just small portion but I guess it's a good price for Seattle ($14.50)? I got spice level 2 which is their medium spice level but I could've had 3 in my opinion. It was super flavorful so that's the good thing about it and comes super fresh off the grill. I found it more wet than other places I've had. We also got the Mango sticky rice dessert which isn't on the menu but we saw it online. Seems like they don't have it all the time because the waitress said they have it today (possibly a secret menu item but we didn't ask). Mangoes were fresh and the sticky rice and coconut milk complimented each other so well. I recommend going for the food, but just be cautious of the other aspects.

Overall, I'd say Thai Tom's food wasn't stellar and the pricing is just okay given the small-ish portion sizes. There was a 10 ish minute wait for a party of 2 at 7 on a weekday. Because the restaurant is pretty small, I'd definitely discourage bringing a large party. Everything is made to order and the place is CASH ONLY. It was a little smokey at the bar seating, but I Pad Thai (3/5): The noodles weren't as springy as I'd like and while the dish was quite spicy for a 3/5, I felt like there wasn't a ton of depth of flavor; I just wanted more acid, sweetness, everything punched up a notch. The wok-fire was nice enough and they aren't too generous with the shrimp even though it's a dollar extra. Thai Wings (4.25/5): This was actually solid: great balance of savory, sweet, and acidic. Wings are slightly crunchy on the outside (fried without a batter) while staying perfectly tender and juicy on the inside.

The wok work here is insane--amazing to watch one guy handle everyone's food like a true master, juggling five to six woks at the same time. Everything comes out piping hot, perfect for a chilly day. I got the Thai curry fried rice, which had the perfect amount of crispy rice granules and a bold, slightly smoky flavor. I went with level 2 spice, and it was a pretty solid heat level for me. It's a small, cozy spot--highly recommend. I think they might only accept cash, or at least they did the day I went, so it's good to have some on hand just in case.

We recently decided to grab takeout for lunch from Thai Tom, a place we used to frequent many years ago. I was curious to see if it still held up! The restaurant was fairly busy, and after placing our order, we were told our food would be ready in about 10 minutes. It ended up being closer to 15, but since we don't live too far away, we were thrilled to find everything still piping hot when it was time to eat. I ordered the Panang curry with chicken, while my kids opted for the Pad See You. I'm happy to report that everyone was satisfied! My Panang curry was wonderfully rich and savory, with perfectly steamed rice and tender, delicious chicken. The kids loved their dish too; the noodles had a delightful warm and smoky flavor, and the sauce was so tasty that they devoured all their veggies! While I'm glad to say the food is just as delicious as I remembered, I did notice that the portions aren't as generous as they used to be. In the past, they piled everything into large white clamshell containers, but now it comes in smaller black lidded bowls that are more manageable for one sitting. Nonetheless, I'm really glad Thai Tom is still around to satisfy our cravings for Thai food!

Easy to miss hole-in-the wall spot. Very small interior. But do not let any of that fool you. There is SO much character and flavor in this restaurant. Super intimate in a good way with quick and easy service. The food is possibly the best Thai I have ever had, and it is cooked right in front of me. The wings are crispy and have a good sauce. The green curry is exploding with complex deliciousness. So many levels of flavor, and I couldn't get enough. I want to try everything here!!!

My favorite Thai place on the ave!! make sure to bring cash when you go this place and try to avoid busy hours because store isn't very big. They cook in front of you so it can be a bit smoky but the food is sooo good it's worth!

super small location, but food smelled so good just walking in. you can see them make the food in front of you which was cool. portions were a little small for the price in my opinion, but still worth trying nonetheless. definitely go earlier since the place is super busy during peak meal times ordered: pad thai pad see you again shrimp fried rice yellow curry

They have locations both in Downtown Seattle and Greenlake, but I have only been to their Downtown Seattle location which has a beautiful view of the Puget Sound. The atmosphere is dark, trendy, and modern- perfect for a date night or nice evening out. While they are a white table cloth, sit-down restaurant, you can dress casually or dress up a bit - both are completely acceptable. This most recent visit I ordered the COCONUT PANANG CURRY with chicken ($25.95) and my friend ordered her favorite dish, SALMON GARLIC FRIED RICE ($28.95). On a past visit, I've had their CLAY POT SHRIMP & GLASS NOODLES (KOONG OB WOONSEN) ($27.95) which was absolutely fantastic and has had me hooked on Pad Woonsen ever since! I saw the COCONUT PANANG CURRY recently in my Instagram feed and knew I had to get it. It is served in a whole coconut (yes a real, fresh coconut!) and comes with a champagne flute of fresh coconut juice from the coconut they hollowed out and a side of Jasmine rice. The curry was rich, flavorful, and full of Thai basil and peppers. The coconut juice was light and refreshing and a great contrast to the thick curry. The SALMON GARLIC FRIED RICE (which I've sampled before), is gigantic, aromatic, and served with a giant grilled garlic butter fillet of salmon on top. The salmon is extremely moist, oily, and bursting with flavor. The rice is fragrant and has garlic paste, red bell pepper, carrots, and green onion. If you're looking for a tasty and protein-packed meal, this is the dish! Parking is honestly tough in this area as it's located on 1st. They have limited street parking and a few paid parking garage options around. I recommend light railing or Ubering here if you're not already in the downtown Seattle area. Service is always great and we always get our food quickly, no matter how crowded they are. The staff also take the time to check up on your table during your meal. Overall: 5/5 for food, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere

Vibe - When I walked in, it felt like I was in a nighttime district on the streets of Thailand, eating and drinking whatever they had available. The vibe was that of a dark ambiance, with neon lights shining throughout the restaurant. Hospitality - The front-of-house staff was well-mannered and courteous, and they seated us quickly on a Monday night at 8:00 PM. It was a relatively busy night. However, we ordered fairly quickly, and the food came out within 10 to 15 minutes. Food - Food-wise, we ordered the Fried Papaya, Crispy Fried Rice, Khao Soi, Tom Yum, and Crispy Pork Belly Fried Rice. Gosh, I have to say, I was blown away by the flavors and the portion sizes! Typically, four dishes can serve three people, but I felt like these could have served five. The fried papaya salad was lightly battered with a typical papaya salad dipping sauce featuring a base of fish sauce, green beans, tomatoes, and chilies. It was good. The crispy fried rice was served with lettuce wraps, and OMG, I kid you not when I tell you this is some of the crispiest rice I've ever had. It's hard to find, but when you do, you can't wait to take another bite. I thought the khao soi overall was not bad. I enjoyed that they put the fried noodles on top so that you can mix them into the curry when it's brought out. Lastly, the pork belly was well-cooked with a crispy, crunchy exterior, and served with delicious Thai-flavored fried rice! Drinks - We ordered the Thai lemon iced tea and the Thai tea cremosa. Both tasted good. Overall, I was very satisfied with this place, and if I lived here, I could see myself grabbing some late-night bites with the homies.
